Simple Watercolor Hello

Yesterday was another one of those I imagined I would get more done that I actually did days. I have been having way too many of those lately, that needs to change! I did run a few errands with Heather in the afternoon. She made George and I a late lunch and after that I came back home and worked on my card for today. I will definitely be more productive today! If I say it it will happen! LOL! 😀

I have another Simple Sunday card to share with you today. I started out by using my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors to add three stripes of color to a piece of Arches 140lb Cold Press Watercolor Paper. I did set it aside to dry and watched a little TV but it was getting ready to rain here so it was a little on the damp side and I grew impatient! The drying time was sped up with my Heat Tool! The flower, leaves and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Floral Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Onyx Black. I did mask the flower to get the leaves a little closer to it. All that was left to do was to use Tombo Extreme Adhesive to adhered it to a card base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. A simple card that was actually inspired by a shirt that I saw in a store the other day! I hope that you like today’s Simple Sunday card! Thank you for stopping by! Have a simply wonderful Sunday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 86 – Colors!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I have to admit that I’m a big romantic at heart! A lot of people think that Valentine’s Day is just a made up Holiday but I think that it’s the perfect day to show someone that you care a lot about how much they mean to you! Not that you should have to wait for Valentine’s Day to do that, you should make it point to do it as often as possible! If we all focused more on love and less on hate what a wonderful world this would be! And to that I had a lovely day at the Store yesterday. Renee and I do manage to have a good time in between all of the work and planning! When I got home I had a quick dinner with my Parents and then went out with Heather to Stop & Shop and then back to her house. My friend Louis stopped by to pick up some cards for his loved ones and I got to see George for a bit before I left. Renee is off today so I will be manning the Store. Stop by and show me some love if you are in the area! 😀

Today we have a new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge for you, this time it’s colors…

I haven’t watercolored in a while and I wanted to so that’s what I did on today’s card. I started by heat embossing the rose and stem from the Altenew Sketchy Rose Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Arches 140lb Cold Press Watercolor Paper. To add my color I used my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors and #2 and #4 Silver Paint Brushes. I used my Heat Tool to dry the layers in between adding color and adhered the panel to a background of Black. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black. All that was left to do was to adhered the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I do love that rose image and I’m so happy with the way the shading turned out! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Color Challenge! We hope to see your card in the gallery after you stop by the BLOG for some more inspiration from the rest of the Team! Thanks so much for visiting! Have a romantic Tuesday! 🙂

Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Watercolor!

wcmc9-header

This is my second post for today! When this post goes up I’ll be in Manhattan! I’m going to try and see some of my peeps before I head back home. I do love a day in the city as most of you know! The reason for two posts today you may be wondering? Well it’s time for the second challenge over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge Blog! This time we are featuring a technique which is one of my favorites… watercoloring! You have a whole month to play along! Winners will be picked on Monday, November 7th and announced on Tuesday November 8th!

Here is this month’s challenge badge…

challenge-2-watercolor

I have been dying to use the Holy Night Dies from last month’s release! I die cut all of the pieces for the main parts of the card from Arches 140lb Watercolor Card. Before I scored them I used my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors to create my scene. After the pieces had dried (I let them air dry to minimize warping) I scored them at the notches that die cuts add and then added Scor-Tape and adhered all of the pieces together. The star just had to be cut from Gold Mirror Card along with the noel. I also cut two noels from a piece of Solar White 110lb and adhered them together and to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card! I love that die set, it makes it so easy to make a dimensional pop-up card, and the best part is that it folds flat and fits in a standard envelope! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Watercolor Challenge! We hope that you will play along with us and if you need a little additional inspiration stop by the BLOG and see the amazing cards that the rest of the Design Team has created! Hope to see your card in the gallery! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! 🙂

Golden Watercolor Holly

It was raining here in the morning on the way to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, not top down weather. 🙁 But what a nice day we had. Crop days are always fun and busy! We had a new to stamping person stop by, I love to get to talk to them and give them helpful hints! Another one of my favorite things is when people bring some of their work into share with me! My friend Elyse brought in this scrapbook page…

elyse-blue-fern-page

I love the page! The torn paper looks like water coming up onto the beach and the embossed chipboard elements are so cool! There is so much texture I just want to touch it! And, it’s in my favorite colors! Thanks for sharing Elyse! By the time I left to go home it was nice and sunny so I got to have the top down on the way home! There aren’t many top down days left, so sad to see Summer go! I relaxed when I got home, nice end to a fun day! How is your weekend going?

Now on to my craftiness for today! I have another Holiday card to share with you! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. The holly is from the Hero Arts Holly Days Stamp & Die Combo. I stamped them in Hero Arts Intense Black onto Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper and used my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors and a Aquash Waterbrush to color them in. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares. Part of my greeting, from the Hero Arts Joy Stamp & Cut Set, is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a strip of Black 110lb and adhered over the holly with more 3D Foam Squares. The joy is from the same Joy Stamp & Die Set and is die cut from Gold Mirror Card and twice from Ivory 110lb. They are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then to the black strip with Multi-Matte Medium. Another piece of holly is then adhered next to the joy. To finish the card I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the holly berries and some Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Metallic Red Sequins. I love the holly, especially watercolored and the I think the black strip really makes the other elements pop! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thanks for spending some of your Sunday with me! Have an amazing day! 🙂

SIP Challenge 66 – Anything But a Card!

What a lovely rainy, drizzly, overcast day we had here yesterday! I overslept, got up at 9:00! Made it to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store by 10:05! Renee and I both had very productive days! I got a lot of work done and managed to get a few projects finished too! After I came home and had some dinner I saw Taylor for a bit and then went over to Brian and Kim’s too meet up with Heather for a little early Thirsty Thursday! We had a nice chat and got caught up! Today I want to get some more projects finished at the Store and maybe even get my calendar finished! Yay! Before I get to today’s post though our friend Linda from Chicago accused me of being organized! LOL! Well, here is a picture of the fine tuned organization that I use for my cards…

card-pile

There are many more piles just like that! Filed away… I think not! 😛

Today I’m over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog for this week’s Anything But a Card challenge…

sip-challenge-66-but-a-card

Being around all of that scrapbooking with Renee makes me feel the need to do a layout every once in a while! My page background is a piece of paper from The Authentique Fabulous 12×12 Line and it’s mounted to a piece of Black 110lb. The photo of Maggie and I was taken in January 2015 in Disney. I mounted it to a piece of Crisp Green and then to piece of Rose Chintz. To the left of the picture is a piece of Black 110lb that I cut out with the Bo Bunny Picture This Die that I borrowed from Angie! The strips across the top and down the left are more Crisp Green with a flower from the Altenew Golden Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped in Hero Arts Intense Black. My flowers are from the same set and are also stamped in Intense Black onto Arches 140lb Watercolor Card. I used my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors to color them and the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. They are adhered to the page with 3D Foam Squares. Finally I needed the perfect greeting (or journaling in this case) and I found it in the Altenew Painted Inspiration Photopolymer Stamp Set. I really love that Golden Garden Set with the sketchy flowers and the Painted Inspirations Set for the lovely greetings! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team project for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Anything But a Card Challenge! The rest of the Design Team has some amazing projects to share with you over on the BLOG so be sure to go and pay them a visit! We would love to see what you come up with so make sure that you post your project in the gallery! Thank you for stopping by to see me today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 254

Ahh… the weekend! I remember when I used to have off on the weekend! LOL! What a fun time we had at Card Class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday! The Friday night bunch is always a little rowdy and that makes it more fun! Dianne, Melissa, Christine, Danielle, Brian, Sandy, Dena and Nancy all came and made the Lawn Fawn Cards! Brian brought Taylor with him because she wanted to take the ride to the airport with me to get my parents. We finished up by 9:30 and we got to the airport early so we sat on a creepy side street and waited until they were ready. The JetBlue terminal at JFK is always busy, especially downstairs at Arrivals so I told them to meet me upstairs at Departures! In and out in no time! They did really enjoy themselves and were so happy with the flights and the hotel! My mum said that she would like whoever straightened up the room everyday to come and do her house too! Today I have some more classes to plan and projects to create! Love Saturday’s at the Store!

So after a week of the Give Thanks Stamps and Layering Leaves Dies from Concord & 9th today I have a card using some Hero Arts for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

freshly-made-sketches-254

My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock, seems to be a favorite of mine lately! LOL! For my background I used some patterned paper, the pink one is part of the Fabulous line from Authentique and the other one I believe is also Authentique, not sure which line it’s from though. I die cut a piece of Dark Molasses with the Hero Arts Branch Wreath Fancy Die and adhered it to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The Fairy is from the My Monthly Hero Kit for August and is stamped in Onyx Black and watercolored with my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors and a Pentel Aquash Water Brush. I cut her out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered her to the card with 3D Foam Squares. A generous does of Clear Sparkle Pen is added to her wings and dress. My greeting is die cut from Gold Mirror Card using the Hero Arts Christmas Trimmings Stamp & Cut Set, I also cut out some of the berries. The Merry Christmas is cut again from Ivory 110lb. I adhered it to the Gold Mirror Card and then to the card with more Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The berries are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium along with some Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink Sequins to finish the card! I still really like the Fairies from the August Kit and the wreath is sure to be one of my favorite dies for the fall and winter! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for visiting me today! Have a serene Saturday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 63 – Wonderful Wings!

Not a bad Monday at all! The weather was nice, hot and super sunny, just how I like it! I got a lot accomplished at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, more that I thought I would! I ordered some new products, inquired about my Hero Arts order and started working on my cards for Card Class. I also managed to make my card for today, all that was left to do when I got home was to add some Sequins! After dinner I ran a few errands and then sat down at the computer and caught up on some YouTube subscriptions and got the two posts done for today! I’ll continue working on the cards today and see what else I can come up with! Renee has her Home Decor class today, they are replacing the o in home with an apple! So neat! Oh, and my friend Crystal that came by the store on Saturday wrote a great post about her little adventure! You can read it HERE!

Today I’m over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge Blog for this week’s challenge…

SIP Challenge 63

In my Pretty Pink Posh order the other day were some goodies other than those awesome sequins! My card base today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Gold Mirror Card. I took a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper and did a wash of some blue and green watercolor paint from my Mijello Mission Gold Palette. After I sped up the drying with my Heat Tool I used the Pretty Pink Posh Mini Storybook 1 Die to cut out my window for my shaker. Some Acetate is adhered to the back and then a little Fun Foam. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Share Handmade Kindness Sequins Mix to the card front and adhered the panel over the top. My butterflies and greeting are from the Pretty Pink Posh Blissful Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set and are all heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto more Arches 140lb and colored in with my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors. I cut them out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered them all to the card with 3D Foam Squares. A few more sequins from the Share Handmade Kindness Mix along with some Gold ones are adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. I love that little butterfly set and dies, the greeting is awesome too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Go over to the BLOG and see the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours into the gallery! Thank you for coming by and visiting with me today! Have an exceptional Tuesday! 🙂

Paper Players 309

I need a nap! LOL! Thank god that Sue came by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to help me yesterday! I would have never gotten all of that Lawn Fawn and Pretty Pink Posh checked in and entered! The Partial Die Cutting Class was so much fun! I love showing people new things to add to their crafting arsenal! My buddy Melissa stayed behind after the night class to help me straighten up. We left around 8:30. When I got home I had a bunch more stuff to do and there is still more to be done today! But tonight is Thirsty Thursday and I get to see my peeps! Oh, and have a nice glass of whine! YAY! Let’s see, I have my store, my peeps and all of you! I’m one lucky guy wouldn’t you say?! 😀

My little bit of creativity that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge from my friend Sandy…

Paper Players #309

She just happened to stop by the store while I watercoloring my ice pops the other day so she got a sneak peek at the card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card stock with the front covered in a piece of Cyber Grape. I stamped the stripes onto a piece of Ballerina Pink with the Concord & 9th Stripe Builder Photopolymer Stamp in some Cotton Candy Crisp Ink. Before I adhered it to the card I cut out the word sweet with the Concord & 9th Sweet & Cool Dies. My ice pops are from the Concord & 9th Sweet & Cool Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed them in Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder onto a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper and colored them with my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors. They are cut out using one of the other dies from the Sweet & Cool Die Set and adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I stamped the rest of the greeting in Deep Iris Crisp Ink and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst and Gold Sequins around the pops to finish the card! Love that Sweet & Cool Stamp & Die set! It’s makes for a nice fun birthday card don’t you think?! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks for sharing in my day! Have a absolutely amazing Thursday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 462

Hello and welcome to Monday, sponsored by the Mojo Monday Sketch! LOL! It was a pretty overcast day here yesterday and started raining around 6:00PM. I spent a little time with my buddy Daniel in the morning! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store had a steady flow of customers, Melissa and her mom stopped by and we chatted for a while! I had dinner with my Parents when I got home and then sat down and watched some TV. A nice way to end the weekend and get ready for the busy week ahead!

Yes, it’s Monday and that means that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo462

I went with a bright sunny card to chase away the rain! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the PhotoPlay Summer Daydreams Line called Swinging in the Clouds. The strips across the bottom are Candied Yam and Moonstone Blue. Next up is a piece of Vellum that I adhered to the card with E-Z Runner, hiding under the main panel. Speaking of the main panel it’s a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper that I heat embossed the sentiment from the Concord & 9th Hugs Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder and then did a wash over it with my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors. It’s adhered to the card with Tombo Extreme and Fun Foam. The bear and oranges are from the same set and are also heat embossed in Clear on Arches and colored in with my Watercolors. I cut them out with my Scissors and adhered them to the card with 3D Foam Squares. A few Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine, Lemon and Cobalt Sequins compete the card! I love that little bear and the orange slices but my favorite is that fun greeting! Who wouldn’t want to be freshly squeezed with a hug?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thank you very much for starting your week off here! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Fab Friday 94

H A P P Y  F R I D A Y!! It’s a very happy one for me! I’m taking tomorrow off! YAY! We had fun at the first two Card Classes at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I love when we use a set like the Concord & 9th Brushed Blossom Set! It a nice loose flower that really can’t be stamped wrong! These types of stamps bring out a little more creativity in people, they tend to stamp a little more randomly and I love that! I had a nice late night ride home in the car with the top down. It was still 80 degrees when I left the store at 9:30. I came home and got my self situated and watched little TV before calling it a night. Today we have a morning card class and then I think I’m going to sneak out early! Wee!

It’s a Fab Friday week and I have fun card for you using the colors for this one…

Fab Fri 94 8-19-2016

I don’t actually have the new In-Colors but I do have my fabulous Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors so I came close! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Shadow Curios Metallic. I then heat embossed the images from the Altenew Tulip Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder onto a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper. They are colored in with my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors and I set them aside to dry while I heat embossed the sentiment from the same set in more Platinum onto a piece of 46lb Vellum. I adhered that Vellum strip to the back of the watercolor panel and then added a few teeny drops of Multi-Matte Medium behind the words before adhering the watercolor piece to the card with Tombo Extreme Adhesive. I felt that it didn’t need anything else so I held back from adding some sequins! I love the flowers with the soft blue background, those watercolors really are amazing! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Take a peek at the rest of the Team’s cards by paying a visit to the BLOG and enter your card into the gallery! Thank you for spending a little Friday time with me! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂
