Mojo Monday 480

Well, I enjoyed my Sunday and hope that you did too! The second day of the Anniversary Crop at the Store was fun! We had an Italian and American Hero, Macaroni and Potato Salad for lunch and of course dessert! Someone made a baked Brie with pears and it was delicious! After work I came home and had a little dinner with my Parent’s. The rest of the evening was spent watching TV. I’m still not feeling my old self yet and have little motivation to do much. Hopefully that will change as the week wears on! 😀

It’s Monday and I get to share my Design Team card with you for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I was lucky enough to get my January My Monthly Hero Kit in the mail on Saturday so I took it to the store to play with yesterday! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Chinese Red. Across the card is a strip of Crisp Green. I used the Hero Arts Nesting Postage Stamp Infinity Dies to cut out a piece of Carta Bella Beach Day Surf Shop 12×12 and a another piece of Crisp Green. I ran the patterned paper through my Big Shot twice to get it to be a square and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My images and greeting are from the January My Monthly Hero Kit. I stamped the bouquet and additional flowers in Hero Arts Bubble Gum and Memento Tuxedo Black which I also used for the wrap. The wrap is colored in with Copics and then adhered with the bouquet and additional flowers to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I heat embossed the Love onto a piece of Chinese Red in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder, flagged the right side and tucked it under the flowers. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Raspberry, Watermelon and Sparkling Clear Sequins and the card is finished. I love the flowers in the shape of a heart and the fun postage stamp dies! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you! Let’s see your take on the sketch, share your card in the gallery with us! Thank you very much for starting another week off here with me! Have an awesome Monday! 🙂

Bon Voyage 2016

Angie and I had a very pleasant day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and it was pretty busy too! Heather stopped by around 2:00 and I ran across the street with her to NY & Company so she could pick up a few things. After work I came home and watched a little TV, had tacos for dinner, made my card for today and watched some more TV. I don’t have any special plans for this evening so I may just watch a few movies before the ball drops. Sometimes a nice quiet evening at home is a good thing, even on New Year’s Eve! 😀

I had this image in my head of a map with planes on it so I pulled out my June My Monthly Hero Kit and made a quick card to bid farewell to 2016! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Kraft covering the front. My papers are from the DCWV Maps, Text & Ledgers 8×8 Paper Pad. I adhered them on angles with E-Z Runner and curled up some of the corners. The planes and suitcase are cut from Real Red, Galvanized Metallic, Bermuda Bay and Kraft. They are adhered to the card with 3M Foam Tape and E-Z Runner. My greeting is also from the June Kit and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum and adhered to the card with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. The June My Monthly Hero Kit is still one of my favorites and I do love a little map paper, especially when it depicts a place that I really want to go! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you for checking in one last time in 2016! I wish all of you a very happy, healthy and crafty New Year! 🙂

Dapper Cheers New Year!

I had such a nice day in Manhattan yesterday! Despite the packed train on the way in! It was so nice to see Jim and Diane! They really are two of the nicest people and kindest too! After I was done visiting with them I headed down to the Subway to make my way to The Ink Pad. The train was so crowded I didn’t have to hold on to anything! Once I got to Union Square I had a nice if not really chilly walk over to the store. It was so good to see Anna and she had some surprise news for me! She ran off to Vegas with her longtime boyfriend and got hitched! How fun is that?! We had lunch together and got all caught up! I was hoping to hear from my friend Kim so that I could see her too but by the time she text me I was already on the train on the way home. I did get to sit next to a very nice lady and we talked all the way! She had gone into the city to see the Radio City Christmas Show for the first time and loved it! Dad retrieved me from the station and we had Chinese food for Dinner. After that Taylor and I went to Walmart and I bumped into my friends Dorothy and her hubby! We chatted for a bit, I love running into peeps when I’m out, such a nice surprise! Today I’m back at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, I hope that Renee is feeling better!

I did manage to get one picture before I left the city. I had wanted to take more and stop by the tree and Bryant Park, I’ll go there the next time. This is 34th Street looking down at Macy’s, see how packed it was?!

34th-st-macys-2016

When I got home I had to make a card for today and decided that I needed to play with some of the add-ons for the December My Monthly Hero Kit! To start the card I used the Hero Arts Party Confetti Background Die to cut out a piece of Black Card Stock and that is adhered to a piece of Gold Mirror Card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. All of my images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Happy New Year Stamp & Cut. I heat embossed the greeting in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a strip of 48lb Vellum and folded the edges over the background before adhering it to a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Next I heat embossed the clock, 2017 and 6 in more Gold onto more Vellum. The fireworks and top hat are heat embossed in Hero Arts Black Sparkle Embossing Powder onto Super Gold Curious Metallic. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out the clock, fireworks and top hat. The Vellum pieces are adhered with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape and the rest with Black 3D Foam Squares. I love that Party Confetti Background Die, especially over the Gold Mirror Card in Black. Makes for an elegant and festive card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you for coming by to share in a little of my day! Have a simple Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 266

Happy weekend! It’s extra happy for me… I’m off to Manhattan to see my friends Jim and Diane and then down to The Ink Pad to see Anna! It will be cold but I don’t seem to notice it as much when I’m in the city! I got a lot accomplished at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, more than I though I would! Poor Renee is sick and went home early but Angie was there with me. On my car ride home I spoke to Heather, she is off to New Orleans for a few days with George. I had dinner at my Parent’s and then came home and made today’s card. What’s on for you this weekend?!

The card that I created last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

freshly-made-sketches-266

I had some happy mail waiting for me when I got home last night, the December My Monthly Hero Kit! I couldn’t wait to play with it! Today’s card took me about an hour from concept to done! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used one of the dies from the Kit to cut out the burst from a piece of Super Gold Curious Metallic and then popped up the pieces and adhered it to the card base with E-Z Runner. Next up is a piece of Blueprint Curious Metallic that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Geometric Next Level 3D Embossing Folder. That is adhered with some strategically placed 3D Foam Squares. My martini is created with the Hero Arts Martini Fancy Dies, I cut out the glass from Ice Gold Curious Metallic and also cut out two pieces of Acetate. On piece of the Acetate is adhered to the back of the glass with E-Z Runner Micro, then some 3M Foam Tape is added to the back. I sprinkled in some Recollections Metallic Glitter Shapes and added the second piece of Acetate to the back. My lemon twist and olive are cut from Solar White 110lb, I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and Lemon Yellow, Green Hills, Forever Green and Red Royal to color them. The “toothpick” is cut from a piece of Adhesive Wood Sheet and Solar White 110lb, I adhered them to each other and added a little Multi-Matte Medium to the bottom to adhere it to the card. Some 3D Foam Squares adhere the martini glass and olive in place. The lemon twist is adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally I cut out a piece of Gold Mirror Card and two pieces of Solar White 110lb with the cheers die from the Kit. They are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then to the card with more 3M Foam Tape. I really love this month’s Kit!! So many cool things in the Kit and the Add-Ons are just as great! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thank you so much for spending some of your Saturday with me! Have an amazing day! 🙂

Merry Holly Wreath

It was another lovely Friday! Sunny but crisp! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was productive! I got some more of my projects completed and we had some visitors too! The Novak sisters stopped in and Taylor came by to hang out and we had some Wendy’s for lunch. Angie got to the store around 4:00 to get ready for her Art Journaling Class. I noticed that my tire in the front on my car was going flat yet again so I went next door to Firestone and they put air in it for me. A little dinner with my Parents and Taylor and then I came home and worked on a little more Store stuff and watched some TV. Today is day one of the two day crop, I’ll get to see my ladies! Yay! 😀

Part of my productivity was getting a short blog post done for the Store blog! It features an amazing card by an extremely talented customer and friend! If you would like to take a look at it you can click HERE!

I had no particular post to make a card for so I just played while I was at the Store and this is what I came up with! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Kraft. I used one of the dies from the September My Monthly Hero Kit (one of my favorites so far this year!) and cut out wreaths from pieces of Lemon Lime, Crisp Green and Herb Garden Card Stock. I adhered them to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My holly, little berries and bow are from the Christmas Trimmings Stamp & Cut Set. I stamped the holly leaves in Green Hills and Forever Green and the berries and bow in Red Royal. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies, the little white berries are cut out first and then stamped in Soft Vanilla. I adhered them to the wreath with more Multi-Matte Medium and the holly with 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is also from the Christmas Trimmings Set and is cut from a piece of Chinese Red and adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. No sequins today, I wanted to keep the card simple and just focus on that gorgeous wreath! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you for coming by and have a super Saturday! 🙂

Winter Forest Snow Globe

Oh how I love a day in Manhattan! I took the 8:11 train in, it was 8 minutes late as is usually the case with a morning train on the weekend. Once in the city I made my way up to 86th Street on the 1 train and headed to Starbucks to get a Venti Chili Mocha (my new favorite drink!). From there I went and saw my friends Jon and Mary for a while and then Joe and Penny. Around 2:00 I called Anna to see if she was at The Ink Pad, she was so I went down to spend some time with her. We had a nice chat discussing store stuff and made plans to get together for dinner soon! I made it back to Penn Station in time to get the 6:12 back out to the Island and had dinner with my Parent’s. Between the train and spending a few hours reading once I got home I’m almost finished with Inferno! I’m enjoying the book immensely and I’m sure that the movie will be great too! Today I’m alone at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, Renee is going to see Jersey Boys with her Mum and Sister. Hopefully it will be a project filled day! 😀

I finally got to play with the My Monthly Hero Kit from this month and made a fun snow globe shaker! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the front of the shaker I used the snow globe die to cut out the negative from a piece of Solar White 80lb and two pieces of Fun Foam. I laid the panel on the card and traced a circle with my pencil so I would know where to stamp the trees and add the snow banks. Speaking of the trees, they are stamped in Green Fields and the snow banks are cut from more Solar White 80lb. An additional tree is stamped and die cut and then all of the pieces are added to the card front including the deer which I stamped in Cup O Joe and also die cut. A few snow flakes are stamped on the card front from the Wintertime Fun Photopolymer Stamp Set in the Silver Ink included in the Kit. I adhered a piece of Acetate to the back of the front panel and then adhered the two layers of Fun Foam to the card front adding a generous amount of the shaker beads and sequins included in the kit to my well. The bottom of the snow globe is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder along with the greeting from the Kit Stamp Set and it’s adhered to the card to finish off my scene! A fun card where the shaker is the star of the show! I hope that you like my card for today! You visits are always appreciated and I wish you all a simple Sunday! 🙂

City Night Sky Santa

It started off chilly here in the morning but warmed up as the day went on. The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Scrap-A-Latte were filled with peeps having fun with Renee’s wine glass candle holder projects! Taylor came up to the store and hung out for the day too! I got a few cards made and that is always a good day! After work my friend Marianne followed me home and we went up to IKEA. I had to get some pillowcases, I really like their sheets, they are 100% cotton! I also ended up getting a new area rug for the living room and Marianne picked up a few more things than she planned. After IKEA we went and had a little dinner at Noodles & Company. From there is was off to A. C. Moore, Marianne had a few things that she needed to get. When I got back to my house I sat down in the Stampin’ Galley and worked on today’s card! Today I have a bunch of things to get accomplished at the Store, I’ll be off tomorrow for Heather’s Dad’s funeral.

There was a nice little surprise waiting in the mailbox for me when I got home yesterday, the My Monthly Hero Kit finally arrived so of course I had to have a little play with it! The card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front in a piece of Black. To create my background I masked off about 1 1/4″ of the bottom of a piece of Solar White 80lb and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Hero Arts Cornflower and Navy Ink. I then moved the mask and applied Grape Juice and Navy to the top part. I took a picture of the panel when I had finished my ink blending. You can see how it looks a little blotchy…

ha-ink-blending-wm

As you will see on the final card the ink evens out nicely after about 20 minutes! I used my heat tool to make sure that the ink was completely dry, I wanted to heat emboss the Santa and sleigh from the October My Monthly Hero Kit with some Onyx Black and Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. Next I die cut the cityscape and bridge from the Hero Arts Skylines Fancy Dies. The buildings are cut from Black and the bridge from Ionized Curious Metallic. I adhered the buildings with Dot Runner Adhesive and the bridge with Black 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is also from the stamp set included in the kit and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Platinum Embossing powder onto another piece of Black. The left side is flagged and more Black 3D Foam Squares adhere it to the card. The sky needed some stars so I picked a few out of the Little Things by Lucy Platinum Mix and adhered them with Multi-Matte Medium. I really do love the way the Hero Arts Inks blend,  just a little patience and you get amazing results! I hope that you enjoyed my little city Holiday card today! I appreciate you coming by and wish you all a simple Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 254

Ahh… the weekend! I remember when I used to have off on the weekend! LOL! What a fun time we had at Card Class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday! The Friday night bunch is always a little rowdy and that makes it more fun! Dianne, Melissa, Christine, Danielle, Brian, Sandy, Dena and Nancy all came and made the Lawn Fawn Cards! Brian brought Taylor with him because she wanted to take the ride to the airport with me to get my parents. We finished up by 9:30 and we got to the airport early so we sat on a creepy side street and waited until they were ready. The JetBlue terminal at JFK is always busy, especially downstairs at Arrivals so I told them to meet me upstairs at Departures! In and out in no time! They did really enjoy themselves and were so happy with the flights and the hotel! My mum said that she would like whoever straightened up the room everyday to come and do her house too! Today I have some more classes to plan and projects to create! Love Saturday’s at the Store!

So after a week of the Give Thanks Stamps and Layering Leaves Dies from Concord & 9th today I have a card using some Hero Arts for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

freshly-made-sketches-254

My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock, seems to be a favorite of mine lately! LOL! For my background I used some patterned paper, the pink one is part of the Fabulous line from Authentique and the other one I believe is also Authentique, not sure which line it’s from though. I die cut a piece of Dark Molasses with the Hero Arts Branch Wreath Fancy Die and adhered it to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The Fairy is from the My Monthly Hero Kit for August and is stamped in Onyx Black and watercolored with my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors and a Pentel Aquash Water Brush. I cut her out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered her to the card with 3D Foam Squares. A generous does of Clear Sparkle Pen is added to her wings and dress. My greeting is die cut from Gold Mirror Card using the Hero Arts Christmas Trimmings Stamp & Cut Set, I also cut out some of the berries. The Merry Christmas is cut again from Ivory 110lb. I adhered it to the Gold Mirror Card and then to the card with more Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The berries are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium along with some Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink Sequins to finish the card! I still really like the Fairies from the August Kit and the wreath is sure to be one of my favorite dies for the fall and winter! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for visiting me today! Have a serene Saturday! 🙂

OSAT August Blog Hop – Summer

OSAT Blog Hop Banner

I had a nice relaxing morning yesterday. I got up and had my coffee and puttered around on the internet before I took my shower. I even got to sit outside for a bit before it started to rain. After that I FaceTimed with Andrea for a little, stopped by my parents and then headed over to get my man bun chopped off. I can say that I did it and I’m glad to have my short hair back! Around 1:20 I started to make my way to La Guardia. It rained on the way there which in 94 degrees with no AC in the car wasn’t fun at all! Ken’s flight was a little late but I got him and nearly cooked him in the car on the way back to the store. It took us a little over two hours to get there. His class was awesome and all of the students made some really great projects! I also got to speak to one of my blog peeps on the phone for a little bit! So nice to actually get to speak in person! When the class was over I took Ken to get some food and then dropped him off at his hotel. I’m going to get him early so we can stop and have breakfast on the way to the store. He has another class today and then I’ll drop him off at the Ferry over to Connecticut later on tonight. It’s fun to get spend time with him, he’s a really nice guy!

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here from my friend Martie’s blog, welcome! This month we have a a Summer theme! As soon as I saw the August My Monthly Hero Kit I knew that I would have to use it for this hop! I have two cards that I made with it and the add ons share with you!

My first card has a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Hero Arts Cornflower and Soft Pink Ink to a piece of Solar White 80lb, dried it with my Heat Tool and the heat embossed the greeting in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I then adhered that to the card base. Next up I used the Die from the August My Monthly Hero Kit to cut out a piece of Early Espresso and the Add-On Die to cut out a piece of Super Gold Curious Metallic. The Early Espresso piece is adhered to the background with Dot Runner and the Gold piece is adhered with 3D Foam Squares. The fairy is from the Kit too and is stamped in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and colored in with Copics. I used the Coordinating Die to cut her out and adhered her with more 3D Foam Squares to the card. To tone down the Gold a little I used the Outer Frame from the Kit on a piece of Solar White 80lb and adhered that with more Dot Runner on top of the gold. For a little more magic I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink, Gold and Pansy Purple Sequins and brushed the fairy with some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen. I love that kit! So fun and whimsical and the dies are just awesome!

OSAT August Blog Hop Card 1-WM

For the second card I also used a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To create my background I heat embossed the clouds, stars and greeting from the Add-On Stamp Set Dreams Are Made in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card and then used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. I blended them together and then used a dry paper towel to buff the excess ink off of the heat embossed parts. The fairy is again from the Main Kit and is stamped in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and colored in with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors. She is cut out with the Coordinating Die. I also heat embossed the wand in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder and cut that out with my Scissors. The background is adhered to the card base with E-Z Runner and the fairy and wand with 3D Foam Squares. For a little added sparkle I stamped the stardust in Encore Silver Metallic Ink. Love the emboss-resist background and the watercolored fairy, she looks so happy floating up there in the night sky!

WWF_logo.svg

How cool is that? More on what you get in the kit below but first I have one more card to share with you!

All the time that I have been paying with this kit I have been seeing a Jellyfish in a jar! Well, today that is going to happen! To create my fun Birthday card I started by using a Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Soft Pool Ink to add color to a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock. For the jar I dug into my stash and pulled out the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped the jar in Soft Pool Ink. I then used the Coordinating Jar Frame Cuts to cut the jar out of the panel. I also tore a piece of Desert Storm 80lb and cut the jar out of a part of that too. The “sand” is then adhered to the bottom of the ink blended panel. To stamp the greeting I used Dolphin Ombre Ink and stamped it in the upper left corner. On the jar cut-out I stamped the Color Layering Jellyfish in Dolphin Ombre Ink and then heat embossed him in Hero Arts Sparkle Embossing Powder. In the lower left I stamped a few of the small Coral also in Dolphin Ombre Ink. Before continuing I used the ink blended panel to line up and adhere the jar cut out to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Next I added some acetate to the back of the ink blended panel and then die cut the Jar Frame Cut from a piece of Fun Foam. That is adhered to the back of the ink blended panel. Some of the flat sequins from the Little Things by Lucy Mermaid Exclusive Mix are added to the jar and the front panel is adhered to the card base. I stamped three of the starfish in the Dolphin Ombre Ink and cut them out with my Scissors. They are adhered to the card with Glue Dots. The card needed just a little something more so I added a few more of the Sequins and a few Sparkling Clear ones for little more sparkle! What a fun different birthday card to send to someone, don’t you think?!
