Mojo Monday 436

Here we go again, it’s Monday! I enjoyed my time in Manhattan yesterday visiting Jon and Mary in the morning and then meeting up with Kim at The Ink Pad. I got some new Mama Elephant and then we headed over to the Greenwich Village Antiquarian Book Fair. It was nice to see all of the old books and they had so many that were signed copies. From there we went to A Salt & Battery for some fish and chips for lunch, delicious! I got the train from Penn Station and was home by 4:00. Heather text me and asked me to meet her at Wise Eyes to help her pick out new glasses. They wanted $440 for the frames and lenses! I told her that we should go to Warby Parker in the city, the glasses there are either $99 or $129 for everything! We’re going to take a ride in on Wednesday evening. Taylor and Keira stopped by for a little bit and I watched some TV before calling it a night. Today I’ll be at Scrap-A-Latte all day so come by and say hi if you are in the area!

The best part about Monday is that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo436Sketch

As soon as I saw the circles I thought shaker card! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of paper form the Studio Calico Atlantic Collection 6×6 Paper Pad and used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to cut it out. To cut my four circles I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. A piece of Acetate is adhered behind the circles with Scor-Tape and then some Foam Tape is used to make the wells. I added some Martha Stewart Iridescent Hearts and Stars Glitter to them and then adhered a piece of Solar White 80lb to the back. On the other side I added some Fun Foam and then adhered the panel to the card with E-Z Runner Grand Adhesive. The stamped greetings are from the Simon Says Stamp Flip Flop Season Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Rosie Cheeks and Lake Shores Ink. I used a 1″ Circle Punch and my Scissors to cut them out and adhered them to the card with more Foam Tape. I added some Glossy Accents to the 100% Happy, Smile and Hello on the paper and the card is finished! I think that patterned paper is pretty cool and lends itself well to the circle shakers! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog to check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for starting your week off here! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 3 – Inspiration

Monday is such a shock after a really nice weekend! LOL! Work was busy but bearable. I tackled the radio in the Saab after work and with a little help from Dad got it all straightened out. It’s good to have my bluetooth back and my music from my iPhone! Sometimes it’s the little conveniences that make all the difference! After I had finished with the car I came in and Skyped with Andrea while I worked on a few projects. Later I ran to Target to get 1/2 & 1/2 and left with $50 worth of stuff, does that happen to everyone or is it just me?! I hoping that it happens to everyone! LOL!

It’s Tuesday and that means that it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have an inspiration photo from Andrea…

AT Inspiration Challenge 4

The picture was actually taken at her wedding! My card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, the front is covered in a piece of paper from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper Pack. I stamped the leaves from the Awesomely Artistic Stamp Set in Pear Pizzaz on Watercolor Paper and then used a Waterbrush to pull the color in from the edges and fill in the leaves. Yes, I did fussy cut the image! The flowers are from the Something to Say Stamp Set and are stamped in Blushing Bride and the same technique is done to them. I used the Flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack to punch them out and then adhered them with Glue Dots and placed a Basic Jewel Pearl in the middle of each one. A strip of 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon and a piece of Blushing Bride are flagged and adhered to the card with Tear and Tape Adhesive. I stamped the greeting from the Floral Wings Host Stamp Set in Pear Pizzaz before I adhered it. The cluster of leaves and flowers is adhered to the card with more Glue Dots. Love that cluster of leaves with the flowers, and it really wasn’t that hard to cut out! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Inspiration Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Design Team’s inspiration cards and then add yours to the gallery! I hope that you will take some time and play along! Thanks very much for coming by to see me today, enjoy your Tuesday! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 257

Yes! I got my “new to me” car yesterday and I love it! Three hours was spent at the DMV, but that’s the price you pay! I left work at 12:00 and headed over to the car place to get the paperwork and then off to DMV. My parents were there with me for a while and then Heather came up with some Starbucks and the line really moved once she got there! We went back to my house to drop off my old car and then headed up to the dealer to pick up the new one. We stopped back at my house and dropped off Heather’s car and went for a nice ride! It handles completely differently from the Chrysler, it’s nice and sporty. Later on Heather and I went to Monty’s for some pizza and then we met some peeps from my work at a bar to say good bye to Thomas and Keri who are leaving. When I got home Taylor called and asked if she could borrow my old car because her alternator went in hers, talk about perfect timing! So yes, I had a very nice Friday! Here is a picture of the new wheels!

Saab 9-3 Arc Convertible

Yeah I think I’m pretty flash in it! LOL!

Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

PPA 257

I took some liberties with the sketch this time! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Calypso Coral. I used the Project Life Corner Rounder on both the right corners of the card base and the background. The background is a piece of Mint Macaroon with a strip of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack down the left side. I adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The greeting is from the A Whole Lot of Lovely Host Stamp Set and is stamped in Hero Arts Light to Dark Peach Ombre Ink. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Die to cut it out. Behind it a piece of Pacific Point with both ends flagged and under that is some Silver Thread. The flagged strip and the greeting are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I’ll say it again, that Pretty Petals DSP Stack has some great colors and neat patterns in it don’t you think and I love that Ombre Ink! I really hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! I always appreciate you stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend! 🙂

Paper Players 250

It was another hot one here yesterday, and a little on the muggy side too. We were supposed to get rally bad thunderstorms but they missed us thankfully! It did rain for bit but not much. Work was tons of fun yesterday as always. Daniel was at my parents, he always makes the day little better! After I spent some time with him I headed over to Brian & Kim’s for dinner and Heather was there too. So nice to just sit on the deck and laugh, just the way summer should be! The clouds were pretty cool last night, don’t you think?!

Clouds BK 6-23-2014

My card for today is quite fitting! It’s for this week’s Paper Players theme challenge…

Paper Players #250

I used a lot of the stuff from last month’s Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I covered the front in a piece of Cucumber Crush. The patterned paper is from the Doodlebug Sunkissed Collection, I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Borders Dies to trim off the right side and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. My panel in the middle is made from a piece of Pumpkin Pie that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card Die, next up is a piece of Daffodil Delight and another piece of the pattered paper. I used the Project Life Corner Rounder on them and adhered them to each other and to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My banner is also from the Stitched Journaling Card Die and is cut from Tempting Turquoise and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I cut the sunglasses out from another piece of Cucumber Crush with the My Favorite Things Die-namics Geek is Chick Dies, the lenses are a piece of Silver Foil Sheet. To finish off the card I adhered two of the DoodleBug Summer Sprinkles Shapes. I think that the card is bright and happy and with all of the ice creams on the paper and the embellishments it definitely fits the Summer Treats theme! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you so much for spending a little time with me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Another fun filled day! I haven’t gotten a lot of sleep these past few days and I was feeling it a little yesterday but I managed to perk up and make it through! Work was a little busy but I got a call from my dad that he had found a car that he wanted me to go and look at so I snuck out of work at 3:00. We went to the dealer and I test drove a 2004 Saab 9-3 Arc Convertible. I pick it up next Thursday! Yay! After that I picked up Taylor and Michael and we headed over to Scrap-A-Latte for card class. The Thursday class is a nice laid back one and we always have a good time. Michael took care of the social media posts and talked about his upcoming classes. It ended around 9:30 and I dropped him off and then came home and made today’s card. Like I said another fun filled day!

Here is a little group shot of us from class last night! A few people had to leave early but we’ll get them next time!

SAL Card Class 6-2015

No on to the post. The card that I made is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

PPA 256

I kept very true to the sketch and also kept the card really simple. My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the Triple Banner Punch to flag the ends of two pieces of Basic Black and a piece of Tip Top Taupe. The black ones are adhered with SNAIL and the taupe one with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My greeting is from the Bravo! Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. I used a combination of SNAIL and Fun Foam to adhere it to the card. Finally, three clear sequins that Michael brought me from Brasil are adhere with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium next to the greeting. I really do like the simplicity of the card, we need them every so often right?! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by and I wish you all a very happy Friday! 🙂

Wednesday and I’m off from work today! Yippee! My post is also extra early because I’m going to retrieve Mr. Trent from the airport! He lands at 6:34, can’t wait to see him! Yesterday it tried to rain all day and was finally successful around 3:00. It only rained for a bit and then some more around 5:30 and then the sun finally came out. I had a nice evening. Daniel was at my parent’s so I got to spend some time with him. Here he is in all of his cuteness!

Daniel Thomas Hat

With his little Thomas hat on and that adorable little smile! Love that little boy! The rest of the evening was spent crafting and straightening up. Taylor and I also ran to Michaels to get a few things for class on Thursday and Friday. Another pretty good day!

My post for today is for this week’s Paper Players color challenge from Sandy…

Paper Players #249

Strangely enough this card started out with the two straight pins! The card base is Neenah Solar White Card Stock that I cut to 3 1/2″ wide. The front is covered in a piece of Basic Black and the background is a piece of paper from the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack. For the large heart I used the Hearts Collection Framelits to cut out a piece of Pool Party and then cut a negative with one of the smaller ones. The flower and border are from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set, the border is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on the DSP and the flowers in Pool Party on the heart. The hearts is then adhered to the card with SNAIL. Next up is the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Filmstrip Die that is cut from Island Indigo and adhered to the card with two thin strips of Foam Tape in the middle. I used the Hearts Framelits again to cut out a piece of red felt and adhered that to the filmstrip with Multi-Purpose Glue. My thanks is from the Greetings Thinlits and is cut from Real Red and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice Stampin’ Emboss Powder then adhered with more Multi-Purpose Glue. Two hearts are punched out with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack from Real Red and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I used the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and then some Glossy Accents over that to give them some nice sparkle and shine. Three Hazel & Ruby The Makery Think Pink Sequins are adhered to the card with more Crystal Effects. Finally, the two straight pins that started it all are inserted into the felt heart. A fun eclectic collage card! My favorite pieces are the two punched hearts! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge from Sandy! Thank you so much for stopping by today! I always appreciate it. Have a amazingly awesome Wednesday! 🙂

Now that was a long day yesterday! It rained here in the morning and then was nice and sunny by the afternoon. I left work at 3:00 and got the 3:44 train into Manhattan. Not surprisingly it was late! LOL! I did get to Isabella’s around 5:00. She was going thorough a bunch of things that she had brought back from her mum’s house in Italy and gave me some of them. Really lovely things that are just wonderful. I’m going to use some of them in my pictures and I’ll let you know when I do. It was great to see her as always and I can’t thank her enough for the beautiful treasures that she gave me! Taylor picked me up from the train and by the time I got home it was 11:00. Like I said, a very long day, but a good one none the less!

Before I get to today’s post I have some extremely exciting news! In the morning, one of the first things that I do is go on Twitter. As I was scrolling through my feed this morning I see a Tweet from Alison Barclay congratulating me on my Mojo Monday Design Team appointment! What?!?! I almost dropped the phone! Sure enough I went to the Mojo Monday blog and there it is… my card from last week congratulating me! CRAZY?! I’m so very honored to have been chosen! I can’t believe it! Thank you Julee!! I can’t wait to get started! 😀

Now for today’s card, I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS148 DT Sketch 6-10-2015

I used some new goodies from the 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece is Watermelon Wonder and on the right is a piece of paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I stamped the candles from the Sprinkles of Life Photopolymer Stamp Set in Watermelon Wonder on the right and then adhered a piece of Pool Party 1/4′ Cotton Ribbon around the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive. Some more is tied into a bow and adhered with a Glue Dot. A piece of Crushed Curry and a piece of Cucumber Crush are punched out with the Banner Punch and adhered under the ribbon with SNAIL. The square is a piece of Bermuda Bay that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares and adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The cupcake is also from the Sprinkles of Life Set along with the greeting. I heat embossed the bottom in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Silver Foil Sheet and the top is stamped in Jet Black Staz-On onto some Vellum. I also heat embossed the sprinkles in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. To get the puffy white look I used the Stampin’ Pierce Mat and the Simply Scored Stylus on the back in a circular motion. The bottom is adhered with SNAIL and the top with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape. My happy birthday is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Cucumber Crush that I flagged the ends on and adhered with some Foam Tape. To finish off the card I adhered three Recollections Enamel Dots. I really do love that Sprinkles of Life Set and don’t forget that for each one sold Stampin’ Up! donates $3 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the design team has done to inspire you! Mojo 400!

And just as they promised it was a rainy and cold day here all day yesterday. Not my favorite kind of day but if it’s going to be rainy it may as well be during the week! I did have a pretty nice day despite the weather. I got a lot accomplished at the office and my mum made Chicken Marsala for dinner which is one of my favorites! When I got home I made my card for tonight and Taylor stopped by. I also chatted with Andrea and Michael for a while, not a bad day at all! Oh, don’t forget that today is the first day that you can order from the NEW 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog!! You can also order from the 2014-2015 and Occasions Catalogs today too! So today marks the 400th Mojo Monday sketch challenge!! I’m very proud to say that I have participated since challenge 220! That means that I have made 180 cards for the Mojo Monday challenge!! Crazy! I also would like to throw my hat in the ring to be considered for the Design Team!

Nice and simple and this was one of those that I put together in my little brain while I was at work! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Smoky Slate. On top of that is a piece of Vellum Card Stock, I heat embossed the greeting from the Hello Life Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some strategically placed Multi-Purpose Glue adheres it to the Dictionary piece. I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out the bottom left corner and used the Project Life Corner Rounder to round the three remaining corners. Before I adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam I adhered a piece of paper from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper Pack in the lower left corner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sequins finish of the card with a little sparkle! I love the muted look of the Dictionary Stamp behind the Vellum and I purposely didn’t adhere the corners, I think it gives it a lot more dimension! I really hope that you enjoyed my 180th card for the Mojo Monday 400th sketch challenge! I have had so much fun playing along with them and I look forward to 400 more! Thank you for coming by and I wish you all a simply amazing Tuesday! 🙂

Wednesday already! I like having Monday’s off! LOL! Today was another nice day, lots of sun and a little breeze. My day was pretty good, work wasn’t terrible, I got to drive home with the top down, my favorite way to end the work day! I came home and had some dinner and then retreated to the Stampin’ Galley to make a card. I ran out to Target quick to get a few things, I love that it’s open until midnight! Not a bad day at all!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew big for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS146 DT Sketch 5-27-2015

I wanted to use some new goodies and do a little watercoloring, it’s been a while since I have done that! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb. I stamped the Hardwood Background Stamp on a piece of Whisper White with Sahara Sand Ink. Some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine is spattered on the panel and it’s adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. I heat embossed the flower from the NEW You’ve Got This Stamp Set in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder twice. The watercoloring is done with So Saffron and Old Olive Ink and a wet brush. I cut out one with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle Dies and the flower with my Paper Snips. Some Foam Tape adheres the flower to the circle and more SNAIL and Fun Foam adhere the circle to the card. A few butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and punched out with the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly Punches. I colored the back of the with a Copic Y35 Marker and the used Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere them to the circle. My greeting is a piece of So Saffron and Neenah Solar White 80lb cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Die. I adhered the two die cuts together with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium and then adhere it to the card with Foam Tape. I love the soft look of the watercolored flower and cool gold butterflies against the Hardwood Background! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Don’t forget to visit the blog and see the rest of the Design Team’s projects! Thanks so much for visiting me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SUO Challenges 123

How was your Memorial Day? Mine was great! I slept in a little, got up and did my post stuff. Taylor came over and we had homemade waffles, I got waffle maker yesterday and some mix. I think the next time I will make the batter from scratch. We then ran up to IKEA again and I got a little table and two chairs for outside. Taylor and I used it for dinner to break it in! After that I came inside and made a few cards and then watched a little TV. A very nice day indeed. I also got to speak to Mr. Trent for a bit!

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our Sweet Treats challenge. I decided that a birthday card would be a good way to go, I always need those! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock. My strip of paper is a piece of the NEW Envelope Paper. I punched a tag from Whisper White with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. My greeting is from the And Many More Stamp Set and is stamped in the NEW Delightful Dijon. It’s adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The stamps for the ice cream cone are from the NEW Sprinkles of Life Photopolymer Stamp Set and are punched out with the NEW Tree Builder Punch. The ice cream is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on the NEW Mint Macaroon and the cone is heat embossed in Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder on the NEW Delightful Dijon. The cone is adhered to the tag with SNAIL and the ice cream with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine is tied through the top and some “Vintage” Frosted Sequins are adhered to the ice cream for a little sparkle! A fun simple card using some new products from the 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the SUO Challenges Sweet Treats challenge!
