Pals Paper Arts 107

I decided today that I wanted to enter the Pals Paper Arts weekly contest for the first time. I’m very happy with the way my card came out. There are some nice little touches like the eyelets that I set using my new Crop-A-Dile Big Bite. I love the colors, black being my favorite. The card was made with Recollections Card Stock, CuttleBug Circles Embossing Folder, EK Tools Circle Cutter, Martha Stewart Crafts Cupcake Punch, EK Tools Swiss Cheese Edge Punch and Stampin’ Up Terrific Tags Set. I was so excited to get my first Stampin’ Up product. It is a retired set and I love it. Thanks for checking out my card!

1st Birthday

Quite a few of my friends had babies last year. Soon it will be time to celebrate all of the 1st birthdays. This card has a fun shapes theme. With it’s shades of pink it’s just perfect for a special little princess to celebrate turning one. The background is made using a CuttleBug folder, the cake is a stamp from TPC Studio, the punches are all from EK Success and the ribbon adds a nice touch of dimension.

Seaside Carnival – Take Two.

After purchasing the Seaside Carnival stamp the other day I find I am a little obsessed with it. I really do just love all of the detail in the stamp. I took some time and slightly rethought my card from the day before. I added some tickets and found a great vintage looking “Happy Birthday” stamp. This card has more of a vintage carnival feel that the previous one. I’m really happy with the way it turned out.

One More for Him

Continuing with my masculine card theme of the day (I guess!) I give you Seaside Carnival Birthday in Blue. I was at AC Moore today and I saw this stamp and fell in love with it. The detail is amazing, you can see the waves, ferris wheel, roller coaster, sky and boardwalk. It actually reminds me a little of Navy Pier in Chicago, minus the roller coaster. I decided to go with a blue theme and used the Martha Stewart Beach Edge Punch and Sand Dollar/Starfish Double Punch. The stamp is from Inkadinkado, there were more beach themed stamps that I would like to add to my collection, look for them in future cards. 🙂

Saturday Morning Quickie!

I started this card last night so it really was finished this morning. I love the color purple and the script and print stamps that I got from Michael’s are my current favorites. I am going to try using more stamps and branch out a little. I feel like a lot of my cards have been themed the same lately, not that it’s a bad thing. 🙂

Late Night Card

When I got home tonight I decided to make a card for one of my friends to thank them for all that they do for me. I was inspired by the Pals Paper Arts Challenge for this week. I completely forgot that I even had the colors that were to be used in the challenge. Anyway, here is the card below. Let me know what you think!

My new Blog

Hello everyone out there! I’m Justin and I already have a Computer blog on WordPress. I love computers and anything electronic, I read about it all day and love to help people get the most out of their modern day tools. There is however another passion that I have… Card Making. I love to make cards, Birthday, Thank You, Anniversary, Holidays you name it I have a stamp, punch or folder for it. I have always been a creative person and this is a great outlet and I find it very relaxing to do.

In January of this year I was watching WLIW 21-2 Create TV and came across this show called the Spotted Canary. It is a show about crafting but the episode that I caught was one about making cards. They made a waterfall card and gave the instructions on how to do it on their web site. I thought, I can do that so the next day I went out and got some supplies and made the card with my own little twist. As soon as I finished I was hooked! I now have over 100 paper punches, about 60 stamps and tons of embellishments and card stock. Friends ask me to make cards for them now and it makes me very happy to be able to do so. I can’t wait to share some of my creations and get some feedback. Below is a picture of my first card. Let me know what you think!
