Paper Craft Crew 179

And some of the snow melted! Not a lot but some of it and that’s a good thing! I had another pretty laid back day. I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning for a bit and then watched some TV. Just before I headed over to my parent’s to see Daniel and to have dinner I got the urge to watercolor. I sat down and did a freehand watercolor card front. I don’t know if you will get to see it, it’s not that great! LOL! After dinner I took a ride over to A. C. Moore and then Heather called and said that she had made some Pad Thai and asked if I wanted to taste it, of course! I went over to her house and the food was excellent! We had a glass of wine and she has to go for another one of the epidural shots so Brian is taking her and I said that I would tag along too. That’s where I will be this morning!

My post for today is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

PCCCS179 DT Theme 1-27-2016

Ahh… love! I have been really into Valentine’s this year too! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card Lawn Cuts to cut out two pieces of paper from the Teresa Collins Something Wonderful 6×6 Paper Pad. The top one has a heart cut out of it using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hearts Stackables Lawn Cuts. I also cut one out of Real Red and used the same heart that I used on the patterned paper to cut out the middle of that one too. I haphazardly adhered the patterned paper to the card and then used some Foam Tape to adhere the heart over the cut out. Some more Real Red is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Scripty Love Lawn Cut and adhered to the panel with Multi-Matte Medium. Up in the top right corner I used a Mini Clothespin to attach a length of the Real Red Pom-Pom Trim. A few Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow and Red Sequins complete the card! I love the cut outs in the paper and the heart and the Pom-Pom Trim is a fun little addition too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Theme Challenge! Stop by the blog to check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thanks very much for stopping by today! Have a wickedly wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 26 – A Sketch from Maggie!

It was another really nice day here yesterday! I’m liking their forecast that we are to have a warm December! Hopefully that will carry into January, February and March as well! I had a very productive day yesterday! I was at my friend Sue’s most of the day working on some listings for Etsy. I spoke to Michael for a bit and then headed back home to have some dinner with the ‘rents! After dinner I came home and puttered around the house for a bit and then watched a movie. Today I’m going to be productive again and get some little errands done that I have been putting off and spend some quality time in the Stampin’ Galley too!

Today is Tuesday and it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a sketch from Maggie…

SIP Sketch Challenge 26 800

My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel on the card is a shaker… shocker! LOL! I used the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Block Die to cut out a piece of Solar White 110lb and the center from a piece of Smoky Slate. A piece of Acetate is adhered to the back of the Smoky Slate with Scor-Tape and the snowflake panel is adhered to the acetate in the cut out with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Two layers of Foam Tape around the back make a nice well for my shaker material. I added some “Vintage” Frosted Sequins and Silver Seed Beads before adhering a piece of Night of Navy to the back. Three banners, also cut form Night of Navy, are adhered to the card with SNAIL and then the shaker is adhered with more Scor-Tape. My greeting is from the PinkFresh Studios Christmas Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Silver Embossing Powder on Vellum. I flagged the left side of the Vellum and adhered it to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. As simple as a shaker can get! I’m still loving that Snowflake Block Die and the great blue, white and grey color combo! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper sketch challenge from Maggie! Make sure an stop by the blog to check out the rest of the Design Team’s (including Michael this week!) cards and show Maggie some love by entering your project in the gallery! Thank you very much for visiting with me today! Have a thrilling Tuesday! 🙂

Butterfly Postage Wishes & BA

Good day everyone! I’m back in NY, missing my cousins already. We went our for a breakfast yesterday before heading to Heathrow. It started to pour once we got to the airport. Tracey and Jules waited with us for  a long while, we even sat and had a Costa Coffee before we said our goodbyes. The flight home on British Airways was really nice! We sat in Club World with the nice big seats that turn into a flat bed! Lunch was delicious and so was the snack before landing. My friend Betty met us at the plane and walked with us through to baggage claim and we were out in 15 minutes! Heather and Stephanie picked us up and Heather and I had our movie moment! LOL! I unpacked last night and went to be early so that I can try and reset my clock. Today I have some cleaning to do and then finally sit down and make a card, the first time in over two weeks! That has been the longest for me in over 4 years! Wish me luck! Here are some pictures from the plane yesterday…

BA Club World Seats

Our nice big comfy seats, and yes, you sit facing the back of the plane!

BA Club World TV

A view from the seat just as we were flying out into the Atlantic.

Now on to today’s card which I actually made before I left. The card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the “Vintage” Dictionary Background Stamp in Smoky Slate on a piece of Solar White 80lb. Down the left side is one of the stamps from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped in Real Red and up in the right corner is a stamp from the “Vintage” Office Ephemera Stamp Set stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. Two of the stamps from the same set are stamped in Pacific Point and cut out with my Paper Snips. The butterfly is also from the Butterfly Basics Set and is stamped in Pacific Point, Real Red and Memento Tuxedo Black and then cut out with the Bold Butterfly Framelits. I adhered the background to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL, the stamps are adhered with SNAIL and the butterfly and greeting are adhered with Foam Tape. For the greeting I cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb with the Papertrey Ink Just the Ticket Border Die and stamped it from the Butterfly Basics Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. I resisted the urge to add some sequins, LOL! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thanks for sticking with me through these last two weeks and I wish you all a terrific Thursday! 🙂

Hi there and a very happy Monday to you! Happy Monday you say, well of course, I’m on vacation! LOL! Yesterday was a quiet day, we hung out at the house. My cousin Tracey’s mum Dawn and her partner Alan were her and Tracey made a roast dinner that was delicious! The rest of the evening was spent watching some TV. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday! Today Brian and I are off to London again! Here are a few more pictures from Friday’s little adventure.

Mojo414Sketch_zpsr6lettq6

Lots of nice layers! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper to cover the entire front. Across the middle is a strip of Smoky Slate. The large and small panels are also pieces of paper from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper Pack, the larger one is backed with Basic Black and the small with Very Vanilla. I stamped the greeting from the “Vintage” Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black on Smoky Slate and flagged the bottom. The two panels are adhered to the card and the greeting flag with Fun Foam and SNAIL. To finish off the card I adhered a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Sparkle and Shine and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the small panel. I love that Timeless Elegance DSP, so nice and subtle! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Fab Friday 70

Oh… happy Friday peeps! The weather was nice but a bit cooler yesterday. Last night little Daniel was at my parents so I got to spend some time with him. I came home after and worked on a few projects and he came over with Taylor to visit. Later on I headed over to Heather’s for thirsty Thursday. It was nice to catch up with Heather and Stephanie and Michael stopped by too. I’m off to Manhattan this evening to spend the weekend at my friend Kim’s. She is going to CT for the weekend and Michael is working at The Ink Pad today and tomorrow so she was nice enough to offer us the apartment. Thanks Kim! Looking forward to it!

Every other Friday means that it’s time for another Fab Friday challenge and this week we have a sketch…

Fab Fri 70 8-07-2015

I was fixated on using a new embossing folder that I got so that’s where this card began. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Tip Top Taupe and covered the entire card front with it. Next up is a piece of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper and a piece of Delightful Dijon that are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. The Dijon piece is embossed with the Cricut Cuttlebug Old Paris Embossing Folder and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My Eiffel Tower is from the “Vintage” Artistic Etchings Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Delightful Dijon and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some Foam Tape adheres it to the card. A piece of Washi Tape is adhered to some Solar White 80lb and adhered to the card with more Foam Tape, a thin strip of Real Red is adhered across the bottom. My hello is a piece of Basic Black that I cut out with the Greetings Thinlits and adhered to the washi with Multi-Purpose Glue. I love that embossing folder and the Eiffel Tower image with the eclectic color combo! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s projects and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for checking in today! I wish all a very fabulous Friday! 🙂

Welcome to Stamp, Ink, Paper!!!!

An extra happy Monday to you! I had a rough start yesterday, lesson learned, but the rest of the day was nice. I went over and hung out with Brain and Kim for a bit and then came home and worked on some projects. I had a lot to get done this weekend in preparation for today’s announcement! I have been toying with the idea of starting my own challenge blog. I love playing along with all of the challenges that I do each week and seeing all of the amazing cards and projects that are submitted. I had fun being the co-captain on Can You Case It with my friend Eva. Since I already had a talented bunch of people Eva and I decided that I could take some of my team and move forward with my little project. So today marks the very first Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge!

SIP Header

I’m excited to be able to do this and I couldn’t have done it without the help of the rest of the Design Team! We have added a few new faces and there are some that you know from CYCI. We thought that we would start things off with a nice easy challenge, Getting to Know You! Make a card using your favorite Stamps, Ink and Paper! Whatever style you like! I can’t wait to see what you come up with! To make sure that there is enough time for everyone to participate this challenge will run for two weeks! Some of our Design Team is also giving away blog candy so make sure and go to the SIP Challenge Site and visit the other designers! We are also giving you the ability to vote for your favorites! Make sure that you cast your vote and the person with the most votes at the end of the challenge will be featured as our Audience Pick!

So without further ado here is the new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

SIP Any Challenge 1

I actually made a few cards for this but when I thought about what kind of card is my favorite I had to go with a college card! This one was inspired by one that I saw on Pinterest a while back. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Two layers, one of Neenah 80lb and one of Pink Pirouette, are adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. On top of that is a piece of Vellum that I heat embossed the Hero Arts Large Notebook Paper Background Stamp with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The wreath is from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder and cut out with a die from DiesByDave. I adhered some of the pearls that Mr. Trent sent me with Thermo-Web Bling Glue Dots. The heart is a piece of red felt from Michaels and is cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits and adhered with Glue Dots. For the flowers I used some Pink Pirouette and Watermelon Wonder with the Tim Holtz Tiny Tattered Florals Dies, they are also adhered with Glue Dots. One of the Subtles Collection Designer Buttons has a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine tied in a bow and it’s adhered with another Glue Dot. A few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine & Sparkle Sequins and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects. The stamped greeting is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Tip Top Taupe. The you is a piece of Pink Pirouette cut out with the Simon Says Stamp You Craft Die and adhered with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Phew! That’s a lot of stuff! LOL! I love the roses and the addition of the felt to the card, the wreath, well you know how I feel about that! So there is my first card for the NEW Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge blog! I really hope that you enjoyed it and that you will go over and see what the rest of the talented Design Team has to inspire you! We would love to see one of your creations in the gallery too! Thank you so much for coming by to see me and making my days brighter with your comments and visits! Have an absolutely amazing Monday my friends! 🙂

Paper Players 245, Freshly Made Sketches 186 & Pals Paper Arts 251

Yes, you read correctly, you get three cards today! Not a bad way to start a Monday?! My day yesterday was just lovely! The weather was perfect, I got some projects finished, took ride in the convertible and ran some errands. A very nice Sunday indeed! I even got to relax a little and chat with the people upstairs. I finished the night off with some Chicken Tikka Masala and an Innis & Gunn Rum Cask Beer! Everyday should be like yesterday! How was your Sunday? I hope that it was just as good as mine!

So back to the three posts, I honestly don’t know how I got so behind this week! But I wanted to get them all in, hence the three cards! We’ll start off with the usual Monday card for the Paper Players

Paper Players #245

Despite my manliness I do enjoy making a nice girly card from time to time! The base of this card is Neenah Solar White 110lb. I flagged a piece of paper from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack and adhered it to the base with SNAIL. On top of that is a White Tea Lace Paper Doily. The floral piece is cut from some American Crafts Glitter Paper with the Simon Says Stamp Calliope Die and adhered to the card with Ranger Multi Matte Medium. I used the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Coin Envelope Die to cut out a piece of vellum to serve as the pocket for my greeting which is from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Rose Red. I punched a hole in the top and threaded some Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine though it and slipped it into the little vellum pocket. A few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and some more of the pearls that Mr. Trent sent me complete the card. The pink, pearls and doily make it girly right?!

Paper Players 245-WM

Next up we have my card for his week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 186

I used the sketch in a not so literal way this week. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb. The background is a piece of Soft Sky and the greeting is stamped in Soft Suede using the Build a Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp Set. I then adhered some Fun Foam to the back and then adhered it to the card. All of the images are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Bird and Branch Photopolymer Stamp Set, I used the coordinating Bird Frame Cuts to cut them all out. For the bird I used Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate and Lost Lagoon, his feet are Hello Honey, the flowers are Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral and the branches are Soft Suede. A little White Signo Gel Pen and Sakura Black Gel Pen make his eye a little more realistic. All of the pieces are then adhered to the background with either Foam Tape or SNAIL. I just love that bird and can’t wait to try him out in other colors!

FMS 186-WM

And last but certainly not least is my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

PPA 251

I got to use some new goodies from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! 2015-2016 Annual Catalog which you can order from starting June 1st! The card base for this one is Whisper White and I ran a piece of the Vintage Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape down the left side. A piece of Tempting Turquoise is embossed with the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used some Fun Foam and SNAIL to adhere it to the card. The flag on top of that is a piece of paper from the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper Pack. The butterfly is from one of the NEW Host Sets called Floral Wings. I stamped the butterfly in Daffodil Delight, the flowers in Melon Mambo and the leaves in Pacific Point. Since the dies aren’t available yet I used my Paper Snips to cut them out and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. Some pearls go down the body and a few random Pretty Pink Posh Sequins are scattered around the card. Finally my greeting is form the same set and it’s heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Daffodil Delight and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. A fun, bright, cheery card even if I do say so myself!

PPA 251-WM

So there you have my catchup post featuring my cards for this week’s Paper Players, Freshly Made Sketches and Pals Paper Arts challenges! I hope that you enjoyed them all and thanks for coming buy to see them! Have a great Monday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 184

Hello there my friends and a happy Saturday to you! I had a good day yesterday, work was quiet, went to Monty’s for lunch with Robin and had a Caesar Salad slice that was yummy! After work I came home and had some dinner with Taylor and my parents then came to my house and started working on some projects instead of having a movie night. I Skyped with Andrea for a bit and then FaceTimed with Michael. I worked on a few cards while he worked on an adorable baby book. Hopefully he will share it on his blog soon! This morning I’ll be finishing up some stuff and then heading over to Scrap-A-Latte for a bit to see what National Scrapbooking day is all about! It’s supposed to be really nice here today and tomorrow! I’m looking forward to a few rides with the top down! What are you all up to today?

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 184

I stayed really true to the sketch! My card starts with a base of Whisper White Card Stock cut to 4″ wide. My background is a piece of Sahara Sand, I put some Sweet Sadie Washi Tape down the left side and wrapped it around the back before I adhered it to the card base. The strip of paper is from the “Vintage” Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration and is adhered to the card with a piece of Foam Tape behind it. I dug up the tag from the very “Vintage” Stamp-A-Tag Kit and heat embossed the greeting from the Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Crushed Curry Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine is tied in a bow leaving the tails extra long and the tag is adhered to the card with some Foam Tape. Finally, a few Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine Sequins are randomly adhered to finish off the card with a little sparkle. I love the simple modern feel to the card thanks to the DSP! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for checking in with me and have yourselves the best Saturday ever! 🙂

What a nice day we had here today! Work was actually a little on the busy side but I kept sneaking outside! LOL! When the wind died down it was actually warm! My parents took Winston to get groomed today and he all sexy again! He’s also extra lovey because he really wants the bandana off, but it’s too cut to take off just yet! Oh, thank you so much for all of your blog name suggestions!! Unfortunately Taylor Made is taken, but I’ll let you know what she decides! I had a nice evening with Taylor, we ran to Target and I found some sweaters on clearance for $3.98! I had to get three of them! LOL! I also spent a little time organizing my non-Stampin’ Up! stamps and dies, I have quite a few, more than I thought! I saw something the other day that said it all started with one stamp… isn’t that the truth! Here is Winnie, it’s very hard to get him to sit still for a picture!

It’s Wednesday! That means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS142 DT Sketch 4-29-2015

The sketch has a little bit of a collage feel to it! My card, as always, starts with a base of Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Daffodil Delight. My background is a piece of Smoky Slate, I remembered that I had some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in White so I took the cap off and flicked it on the Smoky Slate. Up in the right corner is a piece of “Vintage” Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape, again something that I clearly forgot that I had! My greeting is from the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set and is stamped in Pear Pizzaz and cut out with the Starburst Framelits. Some Fun Foam is adhered to the back and then it’s adhered to the card. A strip of Basic Gray goes across the top and I slipped one of the Hung Up Cute Clips over it. Down in the lower left is one of the Essentials Wooden Elements. Across that is a piece of Basic Gray and some stars from the Hooray it’s Your Day Card Kit. To finish of the card I scattered some sequins from Ellen Hutson, Hazel & Ruby and Pretty Pink Posh. I love the colors, I have been quite the Pear Pizzaz fan lately! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Paper Craft Crew 133

A very happy hump day to you! It was another frigid day here but that’s the norm now! I did have a nice day, I went to lunch with my friend Robin. We went to Moe’s, I haven’t been there in a while and it was good. I came home and got to talk to one of my favorite people! I had a nice long chat with my friend Michael! He is doing well enjoying the fact that he is not here in NY freezing with the rest if us! He has warmth yes, but I have Target, Michaels and bagels! LOL! All kidding aside, he is missed! I also stopped by Heather’s for a little wine last night. Nothing like some Cupcake Red Velvet and some laughs to finish off the evening! Tonight I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte to help prepare for the card class on Friday. Let’s see if I can leave without buying anything! 😛

So we all know that Wednesday means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS133 DT Sketch 2-25-2015

I decided that I would use one of the cards form the This Day Project Life Mini Card Kit again. My card starts with a base of Whisper White Card Stock, the background is a piece of Coastal Cabana that I embossed with the “Vintage” Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The Project Life Card is backed with a piece of Whisper White and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My cloud is one of the dies from the Word Bubbles Framelits and is also adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I punched out a piece of Whisper White with the 1″ Circle Punch and adhered that in the lower left corner. A piece of the Retro Fresh Designer Washi Tape covers a piece of Whisper White and goes across the bottom. My greeting is from the Snuggles and Smooches Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Coastal Cabana, some more Stampin’ Dimensionals hold that to the card. A button from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack completes the card. I’m really enjoying using the Project Life cards for my cards and I love the monochromatic Coastal Cabana with the white. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team have created and enter you card in the gallery. Thank you for your visit today, I always love having you stop by! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂
