Paper Players 360

Well, I had a wonderful time in PA! I needed to get away from everything for a bit and that is one of the best places to do just that! It’s so peaceful and relaxing at Jim’s house up there. We spent some time antiquing, the afternoons by the lake and the evenings around the fire. I got to meet most of his family and they were great! I had so much fun! The ride home yesterday morning was actually pretty good despite the rain all the way. Traffic was light so I guess I’ll take the rain. I stopped by Jim’s for a little bit after I got home and then came back and had dinner with my Parent’s. The rest of my evening was spent doing a little more organizing with a little TV thrown in for good measure! I hope that you all had a great weekend too! I missed you all for the past two days! 😀

To start off this week I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

The card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background and piece of notebook paper are from the DCWV Maps, Text & Ledgers Paper Pad. I used the Simon Says Stamp Notebook Edges Die to cut the left side and adhered it on top of the map at an angle. The flowers are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Pale Blush Pink and Green Apple onto Desert Storm 80lb. I cut them out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered them in the upper right. For the greeting I stamped the letters from the Simon Says Stamp Game Tiles Letters Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black onto die cut pieces of paper from the My Mind’s Eye Necessities Wood Paper Pad and adhered them to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I love the Scrabble Tiles and the map paper, makes for a fun card don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you so much for starting your week off with me! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 257

Yesterday was an interesting day indeed. I got a call from Heather around 9:30 asking me if I would come be her house. She had a meeting with her manager at 10:00 via phone and thought that she was going to be laid off. Guess what… that’s exactly what happened. They are cutting about 50% of the workforce from her company. Such fun times we live in. I took a ride with her to her office to pick up her things and drop off her laptop. For a little cheering up after we went by Stephanie’s and went in the pool with the kids. I haven’t been in a pool all Summer and it was nice! After that I came home and worked on a few things. Taylor stripped by later on and we ran a few errands. This morning I’m off to Sue’s for some more Etsy fun! 😀

Mid-week and time for a new Paper Craft Crew challenge…

Today’s card may be one of the simpliest ones that I have made! I was digging around in the Stampin’ Galley and came across a set that I don’t think I have ever used! It’s the Simon Says Stamp To Thine Own Shelf Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the shelves in Kahaki and the books in Thistle, Lake Shores, Catkin and the clock in Smoke. My greeting is stamped in Khaki and that’s the card! It’s a fun card, especially for a book lover! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Back to School Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery to share with us! Thanks for stopping by! Have a wicked Wednesday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 299

That was a very quiet Wednesday. I guess they are good to have every so often. Taylor did come by in the evening and we watched a movie. This morning I do have a bunch of things to do and some errands to run. What are you up to today?! 😀

Another thing that I did do yesterday was make my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

To start my card I adhered a piece of Desert Storm 80lb to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. On the left is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Story Teller 6×6 Paper Pad cut into strips to match the sketch. The large you is cut from a piece of Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Big You Die, it’s adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Onto another piece of Black I heat embossed the hello from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set and adhered that to the card with 3D Foam Squares. A simple card with one of my favorite types of pattern paper, a map! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for coming by! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 254

Another fabulous day! I actually ended up having a lot of stuff to do yesterday! I forgot that my car was supposed to be inspected at the end of July so I got that done… oops! I also had a few projects that I helped Jim with, keeps my mind sharp! He came by after work and we watched a movie and just relaxed. What a nice way to end a Tuesday! 😀

We are mid-week so it’s time for a new Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I can’t believe it but I couldn’t find anything more backyard BBQ than flowers! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add Jellybean to the bottom and Surf Blue to the top. To mask off the areas I used a piece of Post-it Tape. My flowers are from the Simon Says Stamp Artful Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I atamped the flowers in Black for the outline and added the centers with Duckling. My stems are stamped in Jellybean and they are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The stems are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the flowers with 3M Foam Tape. My greeting is cut from a piece of Gold Glitter Card Stock and Black 110lb with the Simon Says Stamp Painted Summer Die. I used Multi-Purpose Spray to adhere them to each other and the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins fill in some of the space around the flowers and the card is done! I do love a nice simple crisp card, I think this one fits the bill! Fab Friday 117

And it’s Friday! Did the week move a little on the slow side or is it just me?! I did complete my trifecta of productive days! I also ran a few errands and mailed out some packages. Jim came by around 5:00 and we watched a little TV and then went to Friday’s for dinner. I have a lot of rewards points so it was a cheap dinner to boot! LOL! I also stopped by Heather’s and saw her and Stephanie for a bit before coming home and calling it a night. I think we are supposed to get some rain today, the end of the perfect weather. But it will be just one day! 😀

It’s a Fab Friday week and we have a sketch for you this time…

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the Concord & 9th Barnwood Background Stamp stamped in Khaki on the front. I used the Simon Says Stamp Nesting Circles Dies to cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb and stamped the images from the Concord & 9th Orange You Sweet Photopolymer Stamp Set in Catkin and Khaki Ink. I stamped a singe one and cut that out with the Coordinating Orange You Sweet Dies. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a strip of Black 110lb. Paper Players 352 & Freshly Made Sketches 296

Well, I did get some of the stuff done that I wanted to finish yesterday. I also had to take a ride over to Heather’s job to drop something off to her. When I got back home I went next door to do some laundry and locked myself out of the house! Don’t know how that happened! Around 5:30 I headed over to Heather’s, she made me dinner and we ran some errands. A good way to end the evening! This morning more stuff that needs to get done will get done! 😀

I have a double challenge card for you today! That almost never happens but I wanted to get my Paper Players card in before it was too late and I had an idea for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge so I combined them! Here are the two challenges…

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the My Favorite Things Romantic Script Background in Smoke Ink onto another piece of Solar White 110lb and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The bird is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Bird and Branch Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped him in Thistle, Hot Mama and Grape Juice, his feet in Khaki, and then used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut him out. His feet are adhered with E-Z Runner and the body with 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb. It’s adhered in the lower right corner and the card is done! I love that scripty background and the fun bird! Fab Friday 116

It didn’t rain as much as they said that it would so needless to say I didn’t get as much done as I thought I would! Oh well, there’s always today! Jim came by around 4:00 and we got all caught up after his vacation. We ran a few errands and then went to Gino’s for dinner. I also had the pleasure of a visit from the child last night. We also ran a few errands! Hmm… maybe I did get a lot more done that I thought! LOL! 😀

It’s Friday peeps and it’s also a Fab Friday and we have some colors for you this time…

I have been really trying to make cards lately that don’t use a ton of supplies. We all need cards like that! This one starts off with the usual base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the images and greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Many Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set right onto the card base. The flowers and leaves are stamped in Sunkist, Goldenlocks, Hot Mama, Jellybean and High Dive. I stamped the centers of the flowers and the greeting in Black. That’s it! I love the loose florals and handwritten greeting! This would also be a great card to mass produce using your MISTI!  I hope that you like my card for the Fab Friday color challenge! Be sure and stop by the BLOG to get some more inspiration from the rest of the Team and let’s see what you come up with, add your card to the gallery! Thanks for coming by today! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

The weather was very nice here again yesterday! I managed to get some cards made in the morning, cleaned the house and spent a little time outside enjoying the weather! SIP Challenge 106 – Christmas in July!

Well, that was a nice long day in the city! I got in around 9:00 and headed up to the Apple Store to pick up an iMac for a friend of mine. Unfortunately it wasn’t ready, so after about four phone calls and lots of waiting I finally was able to get it at 4:00! Let me tell you, they are pretty heavy when you have to carry them for a few blocks! I made it back to the apartment seconds before the heavens opened! After I got the new one set up I had to pack up the old one and send it off to Maine. Again, heavy taking it to the UPS Store and $100 to ship it! Yikes! By the time I got home it was 8:15 so I came in and made my card for today and then I was done! LOL! This morning I’m going to pick up my friend Chantal and go and watch her granddaughter surf in over in Long Beach! Later on a BBQ at Steph’s! Happy Independence Day peeps! Fun times! 😀

It’s Tuesday so time for a new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

Ahh, it has been ages since I have made a Christmas card! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil and Lake Shores Ink with my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some color to the card. The fun frame is the Simon Says Stamp Holiday Frames Die cut from a piece of Merman. I added Acetate to the back and some 3M Foam Tape and filled it with Little Things by Lucy Brushed Gold Sequins. The snowflake is cut from Gold Mirror Card using the Simon Says Stamp Eliza Snowflake Die and is adhered to the frame with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. It’s been forever since I have made a shaker card and that frame die is perfect for them! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Christmas in July Challenge! We hope to see your cards in the Gallery so go over and check out the BLOG for some more inspiration! Thank you for visiting! Have a funtabulous 4th! 🙂

Simple Watercolor Hello

Yesterday was another one of those I imagined I would get more done that I actually did days. I have been having way too many of those lately, that needs to change! I did run a few errands with Heather in the afternoon. She made George and I a late lunch and after that I came back home and worked on my card for today. I will definitely be more productive today! If I say it it will happen! LOL! 😀

I have another Simple Sunday card to share with you today. I started out by using my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors to add three stripes of color to a piece of Arches 140lb Cold Press Watercolor Paper. I did set it aside to dry and watched a little TV but it was getting ready to rain here so it was a little on the damp side and I grew impatient! The drying time was sped up with my Heat Tool! The flower, leaves and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Floral Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Onyx Black. I did mask the flower to get the leaves a little closer to it. All that was left to do was to use Tombo Extreme Adhesive to adhered it to a card base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. A simple card that was actually inspired by a shirt that I saw in a store the other day! I hope that you like today’s Simple Sunday card! Thank you for stopping by! Have a simply wonderful Sunday! 🙂
