Mojo 379

Well, you will never guess what I get to do this morning?! When I get to work I can finally move my office!! The new one is all set to go and I will start moving my stuff back there as soon as I get into work this morning! Took long enough but will be worth the wait for the door alone! LOL! It got quite chilly here yesterday and we are to have a little snow this morning changing to rain later on. I ran out to Target last night around 9:30 and it was a balmy 22 degrees, that’s way too cold for me! Tonight I get to go and pick Andrew up from the airport! He is coming back from nice warm Florida just in time for the cold snap! He promised to bring the warm weather with him, he’d better! LOL! I’ll be glad to have him back though! 🙂

Oh, today is the day people! You can order form the new 2015 Occasions Catalog! I hope that I have helped you create your lists with my projects for the past month! Don’t forget that for every $50 you spend you are entitled to one product from the fantastic Sale-A-Bration Catalog! You can even get Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers in all the colors if you want! Pretty cool huh?! Go ahead… click on the Catalog image to the right and place your orders! 🙂

My craftiness last night yielded my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo379

As soon as I saw the little square I knew that I wanted it to be and teeny envelope and I went from there. The base of the card is Real Red Card Stock and my background is a piece of Smoky Slate. I stamped the Dictionary Stamp in Smoky Slate for a little tone on tone texture. The first and second panels are both pieces of paper from the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack. The first one is backed with Real Red and the one with the ampersand with Basic Black. I adhered a piece of Real Red 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon around the back and then adhered it all to the card base with a mix of Fast Fuse and SNAIL. My little Vellum envelope is made with the Envelope Punch Board. I cut the Vellum to 3″ x 3″ and punched it at 1 1/2″ all the way around. To cover up the adhesive I punched out a piece of Red Glimmer Paper with the heart from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack and adhered it with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The tag is stamped with the One Tag Fits All Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used the Note Tag Punch to punch it out and threaded a piece of White 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon through the hole that I made with the 1/8″ Circle Punch. Another piece of Red Glimmer Paper is cut out with one of the elements from the Circle Card Thinlits and also adhered with a Stampin’ Dimensional. Three Sequins randomly adhered with Crystal Effects complete the card. I really do love the little envelope pocket for the greeting, it adds a fun little extra don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Tuesday! 🙂

Paper Players 226

I had a very nice weekend and hope that the same is true for you! I had a semi-productive day yesterday. Not quite as productive as the rest of the weekend but we all need a little down time right?! I did manage to get some cards made yesterday before I headed out with Heather to do some errands. We went to Bed, Bath & Beyond and the mall so that she could return some stuff. We stopped back at my house so that we could take the old wall unit over to her house. My dad has a truck and boy does that come in handy! After that I came home and puttered around a bit and then watch the end of A Good Day to Die Hard and the beginning of Divergent. Then I decided that It was time to get the rest of my stuff done before trying to get to bed early, ha! Back to work today, maybe I’ll move my office?! Maybe not! LOL!

Before we get to today’s post I wanted to take a minute to remind you that beginning tomorrow you can start ordering from the 2015 Occasions Catalog and also qualify for Sale-A-Bration rewards! Do you have your lists ready?! I’m sure that you do! 🙂

After a little vacation the Paper Players are back with their first challenge of 2015 and it’s a theme from Anne Marie…

Paper Players #226

I went with a recycled and repurposed item on my project. My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the entire front is covered in a piece of Kraft Card Stock. On top of that I adhered a piece the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum to a piece of Very Vanilla and that is then adhered to the base. My recycled/repurposed item is the denim banner that I cut out with the Party Pennants Bigz L Die. Some Fast Fuse adheres it to the vellum. My greeting is form the Four You Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Kraft and cut out with a die from the Circle Card Thinlits. I used the Butterfly Thinlits to cut out the butterfly and the Hello You Thinlits for the “you”, both from Kraft. The Butterfly is adhered with Glue Dots and the “you” is adhered with Crystal Effects. I fluffed up the butterfly wings and that completes the card. I do love the look of the denim with the gold and Kraft, it makes for a fun combination don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Theme challenge! Thank you so much for you time today and I wish you all a Magnificent Monday! 🙂

Watercolor Confetti Ballons Birthday

I had another nice productive day yesterday! I straightened up a bit around the house in the morning and then sat down to make my card for today. My dad came over and helped me install the new panels that I got for the closet. They look so much better than what was there before! I headed over to Heather’s around 4:30 and we went to the supermarket to pick up some stuff for last nights little get together. Everyone arrived around 7:30 and the festivities go underway immediately! There is a beam that runs through Heather’s apartment and I decided that it would be fun to hang from it. You really are never too old to act like a fool!

Ceiling Justin

Didn’t know that I was Spider-Man did you?! LOL! We had a very good time and it was so nice get so many of us together! Here we all are, love the timer feature on the iPhone!

My Peeps and I

From left to right there is Kim, Brian, Heather, Me, Stephanie, Neal, Adam and Erin. Quite the happy bunch aren’t we?! It really was a good time and I can’t wait for us to do it again!

I did have some fun making my card yesterday. I watercolored the background and made quite a mess doing it! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Watercolor Paper, I taped it to a glass mat so it would stay flat. Some Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon Re-Inkers are mixed with water and added to the paper that was brushed over with plain water first. I also flicked the brush over the paper for some added interest. My “confetti” is a mix of Perfect Pearls and water that I painted on randomly. The Heat Tool speeds up the drying and also helps flatten out the paper. I trimmed the piece to fit across the entire card front and used Fast Fuse to adhere it. The balloons are stamped in Versa-Mark on Vellum Card Stock with the Celebrate Today Photopolymer Stamp Set* and heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The matching Ballon Framelits* are used to cut them out. I tied some White Baker’s Twine around them and adhered them with my 2-Way Glue Pen. I really love the background and the vellum balloons are great because the let you see more of it. I really hope that you enjoyed my card for today and that you are inspired to try some watercoloring! Thank you so much for coming by to see the crazy antics from last night too! I wish you all a really great Sunday! 🙂

Stacked Felt Banner Love

I had another productive day yesterday. I got up nice and early did my morning blog stuff and then ran to IKEA and Lowes. I got Kvartal and panels from IKEA to make a sliding door to cover the closet in the room off the kitchen and then stopped at Lowes to get a cord cover to hide the cords that are draped down the wall by the new wall unit. After my errands I went over to Kim & Brian’s for lunch, we had a few glasses of Cupcake Red Velvet, yum! Then it was off to get a hair cut and I got to see Heather, her appointment was right after mine. As a bonus she brought me a Venti So Vanilla Latte! I stopped home quick and picked up Taylor and we ran out to Scrap-A-Latte so I could give Renee the price gun that I ordered from amazon to her. On the way home I got a really bad headache, I took some Excedrin when I got back to the house and waited about 2 hours before it finally went away. My dad, who Andrew calls Stanley, stopped by and fixed my computer chair, the back had fallen off. I don’t think that it will ever fall off again! I was quite happy with all that I got accomplished! 🙂

When I sat down last night to make my card I had the urge to do something a little different and here is what I came up with. The card starts off with a base of Real Red Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack*. My banner is a piece of red felt and I used the Banners Framelits to cut it out. The holes down either side are cut out one of the dies from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits* along with the bow from a piece of black felt. My heart in the middle is cut out with a die from the Circle Card Thinlits. I adhered the banner to the base with some Fast Fuse. Finally, I used the Hello You Thinlits* and some Silver Glimmer Paper to cut out the “you”. Some Multi-Purpose glue adheres the bow and the you to the card. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the dies cut through the felt and I love the texture that it gives the card! Change out the bow for an “I” and this would make a great masculine Valentine too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today and are inspired to use some felt on your project! As always, I appreciate your visit and wish you a super Saturday! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 234

Well, that was a nice low key day to start off the New Year! I got up a little late but that’s because I didn’t go to bed until 2:00. I finished setting up the wall unit and then sat and enjoyed some TV. I looked over at the Christmas tree and thought, time for you to come down and that’s just what I did. It’s all packed away and ready for next Christmas. I puttered around the house until 1:30 when I decided it was time to get a move on. I took a ride to IKEA with Taylor to get 2 shelves and some different knobs for the wall unit. It was packed! I put the shelves up as soon as I got home and changed the knobs. Around 5:15 I went over and had dinner with the ‘rents and then came back home and made my card for today. Andrew stopped by a little later, he’s off to Florida early tomorrow morning to see a friend. He’ll be back on Tuesday night and I’ll be picking him up! I squeezed in a movie after he left, Live, Die, Repeat – Edge of Tomorrow. I have to say that I didn’t think that I was going to like it but it was quite good! Today I’m off to the scrapbook store for a bit and then who knows! It’s good to be off from work! LOL! 🙂

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

PPA 234

I do love the purples and blues together the silver is the icing on the cake! My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock, I adhered a piece of Wisteria Wonder to cover the front for the background. The piece of Watercolor Paper is inked with Wisteria Wonder and Night of Navy using the Tim Holts Mini Ink Blending Tool. At first I thought that I wanted to get rid of the line but the more I looked at it the more I liked it so it stayed. Before I adhered the Watercolor Paper to the background I adhered a piece of 7/8″ Cotton Ribbon with some Glue Dots around the back and then used a combination of SNAIL and Fast Fuse to make sure that it stayed in place. The butterfly is cut out from Brushed Silver Metallic Card Stock with the Butterflies Thinlits*. I tied a piece of Silver Baker’s Twine around one of the Mini Metallic Clothespins and used it to hold the butterfly to the ribbon. The greeting is from the And Many More Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Night of Navy. I used the Bitty Banners Framelits to cut it out and slid it under the clothespin. I love the inked background and the cool way that the butterfly is attached to the card! I really hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Thanks very much for visiting me today! I hope that you all have a fantastic fun filled Friday! 🙂

Mojo 378 & the New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! My wish for the New Year is that it’s great for all of us! I hope that you all had a fun and safe New Year’s Eve. I had a nice low key one. No, I did not move at work again yesterday, I’m over it! LOL! Maybe Monday? I came home and my brother, Erika and little Daniel were at my parent’s. One of their little Dachshunds passed away the night before in the car on the way to the vet. Poor little Nick. They came over to bury him in the backyard. After that the six of us went to Friday’s for dinner. I was surprised at all of the large groups of people that were there having dinner. I guess a lot of families decided to have a low key, fun New Year’s Eve. After dinner we went back to my parents and I chased Daniel around for a bit. Sometimes his little legs move faster than the rest of him! They left around 7:30 and I came home and decided that I would put the new wall unit together and switch them out. The main part didn’t take but 20 minutes, the door and drawer inserts took the longest. I did manage to get everything switched and I love the way it looks now. After that was done it was time for a glass of Cupcake Red Velvet wine and some Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. I text a bunch of my peeps to wish them Happy New Year and then finally went to bed around 2:00, hence my lateness this morning! A different way for me to ring in the New Year but not a bad way at all!

My first card for this year is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo378

Now that the Holiday’s are officially over it’s time to start thinking about Valentine’s Day! There are a few really fun new sets in the 2015 Occasions Catalog along with some really great Designer Series Paper so that’s what I used for my card! It begins with a base of Calypso Coral Card Stock and the background is a piece of Real Red. The two flags are paper from the Stacked with Love DSP Stack*, I used a Simon Says Stamp die to create the stitching down the sides on the flagged pieces and also on the piece of Crisp Cantaloupe that goes across the top. My greeting is from the You Plus Me Stamp Set* and is heat embossed in Calypso Coral on Whisper White and cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. A little Red Glimmer Paper heart, cut out with one of the dies from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits*, I adhered to the greeting with a piece of Stampin’ Dimensional and completes the card. I really like the colors in the Stacked with Love DSP and the You Plus Me Stamp Set has some cool graphic style images! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! It’s the first post of the new year, one of 365! Thank you so much for stopping by to see me and I hope that today is the start of the best year ever for all of us!! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 125

Well guess what?! I didn’t move again yesterday! LOL! I’m really not shocked but I’m the only one left in the old space out of my department. They say possibly tomorrow, if not then next Monday because I’ll be off on Friday!! Oh well! What can ya do?! Andrew came up to the office for the meeting and is going to help me with the design of the web site and print materials that go along with it. That will be fun! Oh, and he was officially added to the committee! He he! I did end up going back to IKEA last night to get my wall unit and Heather came with me. She needed to go and get something to wear tonight so we went to H&M. I found a pair of jeans and a pair of corduroys so I was quite happy about that! Oh and a cool pair of Union Jack socks! LOL! We went to IKEA after that, it’s connected to the mall, and I got my wall unit and the accessories that I wanted to go with it. We stopped by As-Is and Heather found a nice chair for $100 so since we had my dad’s truck so she got it. We stopped by and unloaded my stuff first and then I carried the chair into Heather’s and she put it where she wanted it and loves it. I’ll put my wall unit together on Thursday morning. Still not sure what I’m doing tonight, what are your plans for ringing in the new year?!

Wednesday and you know what that means, I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS125 Sketch 12-31-2014

I stayed really true to the sketch this week! For my card base I used a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and the “Vintage” Color Spritzer Tool with my Tangelo Twist and Hello Honey Stampin’ Write Markers to create my spattered background. A piece of the new Chalkboard Paper* and the new Yellow Citrus ColorBox Chalk Ink Pad* along with the new Big Day Stamp Set** are used to stamp the cake. The slide frame is a piece of Tangelo Twist that I cut out with the On Film Framelits and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Starburst Sayings Stamp Set and the Starburst Framelits with Crushed Curry Stampin’ Emboss Powder and Hello Honey are used for my “embellishment”. My greeting on the arrow is from the And Many More Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used the On Film Framelits to cut it out too and then before I popped it out of the Framelit I used a Liquid Stylus Fine Point Marker to create the outline. More Stampin’ Dimensionals adhered those to the card and complete it nicely! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Show some love by heading over to the blog to see what the other designers have done with the sketch and enter your creation in the gallery! Thank you all for your visits and comments this past year! I can’t wait to see what 2015 brings! Here’s to a fantastic year for all of us!! Have a great new year’s eve and stay safe!! 🙂

Snowflake Adventure Birthday

I trust that we have all recovered from Christmas! It was a beautiful day here yesterday, not too cold and nice and sunny! It’s a little chillier this morning so I think I will spend a some more time today finishing up my projects. I had a nice day yesterday, I spent some time making thank you cards and then Taylor came by and we ran to Target to pick up a few things. I stopped by Brian & Kim’s for bit and then headed over to see my friend Sam. We haven’t gotten to spend time together in a while and it was so great to see her! We talked and laughed and had some dinner, then we decided to watch a movie. We chose one of our favorites, The Holiday. There are some movies that I can watch over and over again and never get tired of them and this is definitely one of them! I came home around midnight and made my card for today. I even managed to not sleep the day away this morning! LOL! I almost forgot to share this picture of Daniel and I from Christmas day. My brother took it, he really is an excellent photographer!

Daniel & I Christmas 2014

The ornament that Daniel had in his hand didn’t last but about 30 seconds after that picture was taken. He threw it on the floor and it smashed it loads of little tiny pieces! He looks so cute but he can be quite mischievous! LOL!

Now on to my card for today. I want to make an effort to have a stash of thank you and birthday cards on hand so I have them ready to send out. I have a few people that have “winter” birthdays and we always need some masculine ones, right?! Today’s card starts with a base of Smoky Slate Card Stock. The background panel is actually a piece left over from a card that I made a little while ago. It’s cut out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles. My greeting is from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The flags are pieces of paper from the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack*, they are adhered to each other with SNAIL at the top and then Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them to the card. I punched out 2 arrows with the What’s Up Punch from Basic Gray and Island Indigo and adhered them to the flags with Multi-Purpose Glue. I used the Simon Says Stamp Maryanne Snowflake Die and some Silver Glimmer Paper for the snowflake that’s adhered to the flags. Down in the lower left corner is some Island Indigo that I punched out with the Chevron Border Punch and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few Frosted Sequins finish off the card and add a little more sparkle. I absolutely love that Adventure Bound DSP Stack*, it has all of the photo pages and then some really great patterns on the other side! I hope that you enjoyed my simple masculine winter birthday card! Thank you very much for stopping by and I wish you all a simple fun Saturday! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 233

Apparent;ly I decided to sleep in really late today! I had a nice Christmas yesterday and hope that you all of you did too. Thank you for all of your Christmas wishes and kindness, who could ask for a better Christmas gift?! Daniel got a little Fisher Price music set that came with a drum, maracas, tamborine and flute. He played with it for a while but my brother really liked it! LOL! He played with it a lot much to dismay of everyone else especially Erika! Andrew stopped by later in the day and we just sat a talked for a while. After, Taylor came over and we watched Divergent again. Love that movie! This morning I have a bunch of Thank you cards to make and other projects to work on. I think I will escape the house for a bit too, it’s a nice day outside, not too cold so I can’t stay in all day. I took a really nice picture of the sky last night, a nice sky to complete a nice day!

Christmas Sky 2014

I did make a card last night and it’s for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

PPA 233

I used some new goodies from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog and that cool bird stamp! The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper Pack*. I stamped the greeting from the A Happy Thing Stamp Set* in Soft Suede on the background and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. A strip of Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral go down the left side and some Soft Suede across the bottom. The triangles are also Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral and are punched out with the Triangle Punch and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The bird is also from the A Happy Thing Stamp Set* and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers. I put a little dot of Crystal Effects on his eye and adhered him to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the colors together and that DSP has some really great patterns in it. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge. Thank you very much for taking the time to come by and comment, I always look forward to reading them and writing back! Have a great Friday everyone! 🙂

Control Freaks December Blog Tour

freakwelcome2013

Hello everyone and welcome to the Control Freaks December Blog Tour. This month we are featuring sneak peeks from the upcoming 2015 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Catalogs. You can order from the catalogs starting January 6, 2015. If you are following along on the tour you have arrived here from Melissa Davies blog. Such awesome projects as always. I have two cards and a treat holder for you today! I kept my theme very masculine too! Love all of the new “guy” stamp sets and Designer Series Paper in the new catalog!

Lets get started with my first card which is a birthday card. The card base is Soft Suede Card Stock and the background is a piece of Crumb Cake that I embossed with my favorite, the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A piece of paper from the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack is adhered on top of that. To create my tag I used the new Ornate Tag Topper punch and a piece of Very Vanilla. My image is from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Crumb Cake and Skin Tone Assortment Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers. A piece of Gold Baker’s Twine is knotted in the top and the tag is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few dots of Crystal Effects keep the tails in place. My greeting is from the Four You Stamp Set and is heat embossed on Vellum and cut out with the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits. Some carefully placed 2-Way Glue adheres it to the card. I love the new Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack, the photographic pages are great and they are all neat prints on the other side!

The second card that I have for you is a masculine take on a shaker card. For this one I used Island Indigo Card Stock for the card base. The background is another piece of paper from the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack backed with a piece of Basic Black before adhering it to the card base. I used the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlit to cut out a piece of Vellum. The greeting is from the Adventure Awaits Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I put the envelope together with some Fast Fuse Adhesive and before closing the last flap I sprinkled in some Frosted Sequins and a few light blue ones that I had. The envelope is adhered to the card with some more Fast Fuse and two pieces of Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape are placed on the top and bottom. I love the rippled water picture with the Island Indigo and Basic Black. The envelope makes a cool shaker for the sequins too!

Control Freaks December Tour Card 2-WM

For my final project I have a little treat bag. This is a made with a new Thinlit that’s pretty cool! Some Crumb Cake Card Stock is cut out with the new Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. I used some of the other elements in the Thinlits to cut out the two star borders and the center window. A piece of Window Sheet is adhered behind the middle cut out and some Night of Navy behind the stars. The enjoy is cut out form a piece of Silver Foil Sheet and adhered to the window with Multi-Purpose Glue. I put the bag together with Sticky Strip and slid a rather large chocolate chip cookie inside. A pretty neat way to give a little gift and since you make the bag yourself it can be made from and Designer Series Paper or Card Stock. You can coordinate it with anything that you would like!

So there is a nice big sneak peek at some of my favorite things from the upcoming 2015 Occasions Catalog! I hope that you enjoyed the card and treat bag and that you have found a little inspiration for what you might like from the catalog! Now you can continue on with the tour by visiting the talented Judy DiScipio’s blog. She has some fun stuff for you!
