Freshly Made Sketches 300

Hi peeps! Another beautiful day here on Long Island! I ran a bunch of errands in the morning and saw the kiddos for a little bit. Around 2:00 I headed out to meet Jim at Home Depot so we could pick up some more supplies and continue on with our furniture projects! We got a lot more done, the end table is almost finished and the chairs are all stripped and one is sanded. We had some Chinese food for dinner and I headed back to my house around 9:00. Steph came by for a little bit and we sat outside and chatted. I made my card for today and called it a night! 😀

That card that I made is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I kept my card nice and clean and simple! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I trimmed two pieces of paper from the Heidi Swapp Hello Today Paper Pad and adhered them to the card to match the sketch. My fun ballon is cut out from Gold Mirror Card with the Concord & 9th Happy Balloons Dies and is adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Just a few Wood Veneer Stars and Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and the card is done! I love that fun balloon with the happy inside, so cool! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thank you so much for stopping by! Have an awesome Thursday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 107 – Tic-Tac-Toe!

So, I didn’t turn on the TV in the morning and managed to get a bunch of things done that I needed to finish! I also ran a few errands and then watched a little TV last night. It was nice and sunny so I got in some outside time too! Taylor stopped by for a few minutes just to say hi. Today I’m off to Sue’s to work on some Etsy stuff! Another productive day is ahead! 😀

It’s Tuesday and time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

The card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For my background I used the Stampin’ Up! Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and a piece of Smoky Slate. Next up is another piece of Solar White 110lb cut out with the Lawn Fawn Say Cheese Lawn Cut. I stamped the greeting from the W Plus 9 Fanciful Feathers Photopolymer Stamp Set in Navy along the bottom of the frame. It’s adhered to the card with 3M Foam Tape. My feathers are also from the Fanciful Feathers Set. I heat embossed them onto die cut Cobalt Vellum in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder. A Wooden Button with some Grey Twine tied into a bow is adhered over the Feather and helps hold them to the frame. To give the card some more interest and a little sparkle I added some Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold and Pewter Sequins and a few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars! I love the feathers in the copper on the cobalt vellum and I’m glad that I remembered that I had that Stampin’ Up! Embossing Folder! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and let’s see your take on the challenge! Enter one of your creations in the gallery! Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 250

A very happy Saturday to you! It’s a very happy one for me… I’m off today! Yippee! Not that I don’t love being at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store but seven days a week, my house gets very neglected! So what am I doing today… you guessed it! Cleaning! What a fun way to spend the day! NOT! But it needs to be done. I did have a good day yesterday. The morning Card Class was great! Peggy bought her granddaughter Emily and she was fantastic! I snuck out early and met Taylor when I got home. We took a quick ride up to Michaels and she showed me the store reset that they did. Even less scrapbooking and stamping stuff, good for me! Andrew came by around 7:30 and we left to go and have dinner. We were going to go to the Noodle Company but decided to have Swedish Meatballs at IKEA instead! I haven’t had them in a long time! Still delicious and so inexpensive! We wandered around and I got some new sheets and a comforter. On the way home we stopped and got some Carvel and then came back to my house and got all caught up! So good to spend time with Andrew! It’s been way too long!

After Andrew left I sat down and made my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 250

The card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed part of my greeting from the Altenew Big World Photopolymer Stamp Set onto a piece of Black 110lb in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The rest of the greeting is heat embossed onto a piece of Blue Print Curious Metallic. I adhered the Blue Print to the Black with E-Z Runner and trimmed off the overhang before adhering it to the card base. The globe is from the same set and is stamped in Persian Blue, Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades Crisp Ink using my Mini MISTI. I cut it out with one of the Sizzix Circles Framelits along with a piece of Fun Foam and adhered them both to the card with more E-Z Runner. It wouldn’t be a space themed scene without a overdose of Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Silver, Sparkling Clear, Marshmallow and Cobalt Sequins and a few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars! Only Altenew could make a color layering globe look that good! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for sharing some of my day! Have a super Saturday! 🙂

Paper Players 304

Ahh… Thursday! What a nice day I had yesterday! The weather was perfect, in the low 80’s, the top was definitely down in the car! Renee and I had a fun day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. We both got a lot accomplished and I feel a little bit more caught up! When I got home I had my dinner and then ran out and got gas in the car. When I got back to my house I had another conference call with my friend Greg. I love talking to him, such a great person! As I retreated to the Stampin’ Gallery my friend Sue called and I was on the phone with her for the rest of the evening. We got all caught up! Today I have my Ink Blended Backgrounds Class at the store! I’m looking forward to that!

The Paper Players have a fun watercolor challenge this week…

Paper Players #304

I have been wanting to use my Finetec Watercolors again, perfect challenge! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Super Gold Curious Metallic Card Stock. I heat embossed all of my images and greeting from the Hero Arts Christmas Crystals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on a piece of Black 110lb. They are all colored in with the Finetec Metallic Watercolors. Some Tombo Extreme Adhesive adheres the panel to the card, it’s my favorite adhesive to use, especially when you are mounting a watercolored or heat embossed piece that has a little warping. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and some Wood Veneer Stars to finish the card. I do love those Fintec Watercolors, they have such great coverage and are perfect for using on dark cardstock! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Player Challenge! Thank you for stopping by the blog today! I wish you all a happy Thursday! 🙂

Fab Friday 90

A very happy Friday to all of my peeps! What a nice day I had yesterday! I spent the morning getting the rest of Renee’s computer issues straightened out, 2 hours of my life I won’t get back! Thanks Microsoft! LOL! Sue stopped by the store so I got to wish her a Happy Birthday in person and give her her card! Renee got her a little chocolate cupcake too! Sandy stopped by to say hi and we played with some Altenew stamps. After they left I set out to make my card for last night’s Intro to Altenew class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Nothing like cutting it close! There were 10 people scheduled and 14 showed up! YAY! We had so much fun and everyone left with a beautiful card and bunches of Altenew goodies so they can recreate their art at home! Bill stopped by on his way to say hello, love a visit from him! On my way home I stopped by Heather’s for a low key Thirsty Thursday. Brian was there and we sat and chatted and laughed as always! I got home around 11:30 and then set out to make my card for today! I don’t think that I have been to bed before 1:00AM in over a month but it’s all good!

The card that I made is for the Fab Friday Challenge! This time we have some colors…

Fab Fri 90 6-24-2016

A little patriotic, just in time for the 4th! My card is nice and simple! I have been really enjoying playing with die cuts lately! It’s all the My Monthly Hero Kit from this months fault! 😀 The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of postage themed Washi Tape down the left side. The die cuts are from the Spellbinders Feather Shapeablilities, Hipster 1 and Hipster 2 Die D-Lites. I cut them from Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point and Night of Navy. My greeting is form the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I adhered the phone and feather to the card with Dot Runner and the greeting banner and coffee cup with Foam Tape. It needed a little something else so I added Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and a few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars. I love the phone and coffee cup die cuts and I need to get some more of the Wood Veneer Stars! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for taking the time to stop by and check out my latest! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

And it’s Thursday already! Another week just whipping by! Yesterday was another nice day here, a little colder but sunny. I went over to Heather’s for lunch and had some of her homemade chicken soup, it was delicious! We spent a little time chatting while she worked, she works from home, my ideal job! When I left Heather’s I decided that I would stop by my old office to drop off Danielle’s scarf that she left at my house a few weeks ago. It was really nice to see everyone! I do miss Danielle, Nicole, Cindy and Robin. Nancy wasn’t there, she is on vacation with her family so I will have to go back and see her. When I got back home I crafted with Andrea over FaceTime before having dinner with my parents. The rest of the evening was spent doing a little more crafting and getting sucked into watching videos of Adele’s opening night concert in Ireland. She really is just amazing! Today, I’ll be heading over to see my friend Sue and then a quick stop off to see Renee!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players sketch from Claire

Paper Players #284

Andrea had commented that I haven’t used Stampin’ Up! in a while so I thought that today’s card would be perfect for some of the new stuff from the Occasions Catalog! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. Across the lower half is a piece of Basic Gray that I embossed with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Above that is a piece of “Vintage” Brushed Gold Card Stock. My panel down the left is a piece of paper from the Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack, I adhered it to the card with Black Fun Foam and SNAIL. My globe and greeting are from the Going Global Clear Mount Stamp Set. I heat embossed the globe in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on more Ivory 110lb, the greeting is stamped in Onyx Black also on Ivory. I used the Sizzix Circles Framelits to cut out the globe and the greeting is punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. They are both adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I tucked a banner cut from more Brushed Gold under the globe and then added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Onyx Sequins along with a few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars. I do really love that stamp set and the DSP too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thank you for your visit today! I wish you all a lovely Thursday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 436

Here we go again, it’s Monday! I enjoyed my time in Manhattan yesterday visiting Jon and Mary in the morning and then meeting up with Kim at The Ink Pad. I got some new Mama Elephant and then we headed over to the Greenwich Village Antiquarian Book Fair. It was nice to see all of the old books and they had so many that were signed copies. From there we went to A Salt & Battery for some fish and chips for lunch, delicious! I got the train from Penn Station and was home by 4:00. Heather text me and asked me to meet her at Wise Eyes to help her pick out new glasses. They wanted $440 for the frames and lenses! I told her that we should go to Warby Parker in the city, the glasses there are either $99 or $129 for everything! We’re going to take a ride in on Wednesday evening. Taylor and Keira stopped by for a little bit and I watched some TV before calling it a night. Today I’ll be at Scrap-A-Latte all day so come by and say hi if you are in the area!

The best part about Monday is that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo436Sketch

As soon as I saw the circles I thought shaker card! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of paper form the Studio Calico Atlantic Collection 6×6 Paper Pad and used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to cut it out. To cut my four circles I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. A piece of Acetate is adhered behind the circles with Scor-Tape and then some Foam Tape is used to make the wells. I added some Martha Stewart Iridescent Hearts and Stars Glitter to them and then adhered a piece of Solar White 80lb to the back. On the other side I added some Fun Foam and then adhered the panel to the card with E-Z Runner Grand Adhesive. The stamped greetings are from the Simon Says Stamp Flip Flop Season Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Rosie Cheeks and Lake Shores Ink. I used a 1″ Circle Punch and my Scissors to cut them out and adhered them to the card with more Foam Tape. I added some Glossy Accents to the 100% Happy, Smile and Hello on the paper and the card is finished! I think that patterned paper is pretty cool and lends itself well to the circle shakers! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog to check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for starting your week off here! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Fab Friday 79

Happy end of the week and start of the weekend! It was absolutely gorgeous here yesterday! In the 60’s so I took a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte with the top down in the car to see Renee. We got caught up and then I came back to my house and Daniel came over for a visit with my dad. He watched some Mickey Mouse and the Beanstalk and had a Lays Dark Chocolate Covered Potato Chip! I asked him if it was good and he said very good… more?! After dinner with my parents and brother and Daniel of course I ran to Target and then headed over to Heather’s for thirsty Thursday! It’s always nice to get the weekend started a little early! We really do have a good time and a really good laugh every time! This morning I have a few projects to finish and then I’m taking Brian and Kim to the airport with the kids. They are taking them on a surprise trip to Disney for the weekend! A very nice early Christmas prezzy! My dad decorated the front yard yesterday and Daniel was inspecting everything for him. I love this picture of him standing next to the Santa that they have had since I was little!

Daniel & Santa 2015

Santa needs a bit of touching up! He still looks good for his age! LOL!

It’s time for the last Fab Friday of 2015! This time around we have some colors…

Fab Fri 79 12-11-2015

I decided that I wanted to do a little simple watercoloring! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Pool Party that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Wood Embossing folder, this time the birch trees. On the left I adhered a strip of Real Red and Mossy Meadow and then adhered the panel to the card base. My tag is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper that I die cut with the Clearly Besotted Rounded Tag Die. My bird is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Using the Hero Arts Bird Rubber Stamp. I scribbled some Pool Party, Real Red and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Markers onto an acrylic block and used a wet paintbrush to color him in, I dried him and then added another layer to give him a more feathery look. The greeting is form the Hero Arts Color Layering Dimensional Bird and is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I tied a piece of Hemptique Black Natural Hemp Cord through the top and then adhered the tag to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I added a few Studio Calico Wood Stars to complete the card. I am quite fond of that odd little bird, he’s sort of cute! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for the last Fab Friday challenge of 2015! Go and check out the blog and see what the rest of the team has done to inspire you to add your creation to the gallery! Thank you for visiting today and I hope that you have a fun Friday! 🙂

Hello everyone, happy Thursday to you! The weather here yesterday was again nice! Sunny and not too hot with a little shower in the evening. The shower did produce a double rainbow though!

Double Rainbow

Pretty cool huh?! Last night I was at Scrap-A-Latte with Michael prepping for tonight and tomorrow night’s classes. After we had some Chili’s for dinner and watched some TV. The focus this month is Back to School! If you have arrived here from Eva Bussom’s blog, welcome! My friend Eva always has some great projects, doesn’t she?! I have one card for you today so let’s get to it!

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the entire front is covered in a piece of Crumb Cake. Next up is some Daffodil Delight and on top of that is a piece of Real Red that I embossed with the Lucky Starts Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. They are both adhered to the card at an angle with SNAIL. My library card and date stamp are from the Lawn Fawn Check This Out Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. The greeting is from the Lawn Fawn My Lucky Charm Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I adhered the library card with SNAIL and Fun Foam and the date stamp with Foam Tape. A few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars are randomly adhered with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Freshly Made Sketches 196 & Sten-doodle!

It was another great day weather wise here on Long Island! Yesterday I snuck out of work at 3:00 and headed over to Scrap-A-Latte. I brought my supplies with me to make my card for today so I worked on it there while Michael finished preparing for his classes. Last night was his Sten-doodle class and that was a lot of fun! I challenged myself to be as random as possible. Not an easy feat for me who likes things that are very uniform and organized but in the end I really love how my elephant turned out! It was a fun class but quite because everyone was concentrating on tracing and coloring! Heather and Taylor dropped Maggie off around 9:00. It’s so good to have her here! She met everyone and after class Michael, Maggie and I went out to grab a bite to eat. By the time we got home and finished chatting it was 2:00am! Another fantastic day! Here are a few pictures from yesterday!

Freshly Made Sketches 196

I flipped the sketch for my card that I put together in my head and ran home at lunch to get the supplies to make! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad across the bottom. My panel is a piece of Smoky Slate that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card Die. I also cut out a piece of Soft Sky and then used the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Borders to cut them again and adhered the on top of one another with some Foam Tape behind the top one. I stamped the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Sailing Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. The boat is from the same set and is colored in with Copic Markers and adhered to the panel with Foam Tape. For the sun and the clouds I used the Lawn Fawn Spring Showers Dies and adhered them to the card with more Foam Tape. The panel is mounted to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Finally, a few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars are adhered with Ranger Multi-Purpose Glue. Are you sick of the nautical theme yet?! Clearly I’m not! LOL! I love that little sailboat! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge and the fun pictures form Michael’s class! Thank you for sharing in my days and have an awesome Thursday! 🙂
