Paper Players 314

Tuesday it was warm and muggy and I had on jeans, yesterday it was warm when I left for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and by 12:00 it was cold and I had shorts on! I guess I need to pay a little more attention to the weather before I leave the house! LOL! Speaking of the store Angie was with us today, she worked from “home”! I also got a very nice surprise, my friend Patrice stopped by with her mum! It was so nice to see her and she brought some of her fabulous cards to show me! I wish I had taken some pictures, she is so talented! I’m going to get her to join Instagram and share her work! Today Renee has her Home Decor Class and I’m going to get my newsletter out!

Before we get to my little bit of craftiness that I have to share with you today I want to thank Clare for choosing me as her Cut Above for last week’s Taste of Fall Challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I’m really loving the new “hand drawn sets” from Altenew and I think that this set might have my favorite greeting ever! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the coffee bean stamp from the Altenew Coffee Love Photopolymer Stamp Set and heat embossed it in Hero Arts Copper and Gold Embossing Powder. The strip down the right side is a piece of Authentique 12×12 Paper from the Fabulous line. I used the Lawn Fawn Dotted Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out a circle and another piece of the 12×12 paper. My greeting and all of the images are also from the Coffee Love Set. The greeting is stamped in Onyx Black. Some E-Z Runner and Fun Foam adheres the circle to the card. I heat embossed the coffee press in Copper onto a piece of Vellum, cut it out with my Scissors and colored in the back with a Copic. It’s adhered to the circle with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. For a little bit of a change I heat embossed the cups onto a piece of Gold Mirror Card Stock and cut them out too. They are adhered with 3D Foam Squares. Of course no card would be complete without a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Rose Gold Sequins! Someone saw the card at the store and said that it reminded them of an ad for coffee! I do love the Stamp Set, especially the embossed coffee beans! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thank you for your visit and I wish you all a lovely Thursday! 🙂

Simple Celebrations

What a lovely day we had! The weather was just perfect so I made sure that I drove around with the top down in the car all day! Got my haircut in the morning and then ran a few errands before heading over to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. Our friend Nancy stopped by an spent a little time with us. She and I chatted about YouTube Craft videos that we watch and crafty things! I also worked on my house and made a card and watercolored some pieces for another one. When I got home I had dinner and then sat down and watched a little TV. Around 9:30 I ran over to Target to pick up some necessities and then crafted for a few before calling a night. Today Renee has a no-frills crop so I will get to see some of the ladies!

For the card that I have to share with you today I used a new set from Altenew. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. All of my images and greeting are from the Altenew Celebrations Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black, did some masking and then colored in the images with Copics leaving a lot of white. After I adhered the panel to the card I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins. I love the sketch feel to the Celebrations Set and while fussy cutting the bouquet was time consuming I love the way they just look like they are sitting in between the two gifts! I think this would make a fun simple wedding card! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you, as always, for taking a little time to stop by and check in with me! Have a superb Saturday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 66 – Anything But a Card!

What a lovely rainy, drizzly, overcast day we had here yesterday! I overslept, got up at 9:00! Made it to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store by 10:05! Renee and I both had very productive days! I got a lot of work done and managed to get a few projects finished too! After I came home and had some dinner I saw Taylor for a bit and then went over to Brian and Kim’s too meet up with Heather for a little early Thirsty Thursday! We had a nice chat and got caught up! Today I want to get some more projects finished at the Store and maybe even get my calendar finished! Yay! Before I get to today’s post though our friend Linda from Chicago accused me of being organized! LOL! Well, here is a picture of the fine tuned organization that I use for my cards…

card-pile

There are many more piles just like that! Filed away… I think not! 😛

Today I’m over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog for this week’s Anything But a Card challenge…

sip-challenge-66-but-a-card

Being around all of that scrapbooking with Renee makes me feel the need to do a layout every once in a while! My page background is a piece of paper from The Authentique Fabulous 12×12 Line and it’s mounted to a piece of Black 110lb. The photo of Maggie and I was taken in January 2015 in Disney. I mounted it to a piece of Crisp Green and then to piece of Rose Chintz. To the left of the picture is a piece of Black 110lb that I cut out with the Bo Bunny Picture This Die that I borrowed from Angie! The strips across the top and down the left are more Crisp Green with a flower from the Altenew Golden Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped in Hero Arts Intense Black. My flowers are from the same set and are also stamped in Intense Black onto Arches 140lb Watercolor Card. I used my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors to color them and the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. They are adhered to the page with 3D Foam Squares. Finally I needed the perfect greeting (or journaling in this case) and I found it in the Altenew Painted Inspiration Photopolymer Stamp Set. I really love that Golden Garden Set with the sketchy flowers and the Painted Inspirations Set for the lovely greetings! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team project for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Anything But a Card Challenge! The rest of the Design Team has some amazing projects to share with you over on the BLOG so be sure to go and pay them a visit! We would love to see what you come up with so make sure that you post your project in the gallery! Thank you for stopping by to see me today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Barnwood Pinecones Grateful

So, I finally have gotten caught up on most of the things that I had pending! Yay! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was fun, but then again it always is! Renee, Angie and I laughed a lot today, what better way to spend a Saturday?! I had Chinese with my Parent’s for dinner, I missed them! After that it was crafty time! I finished the card that I started at the Store today and then made my card for today! I also got some of my card that you lovely people sent to photographed and today I can share them with you! So here are a few of the masterpieces that I received…

I’ll have one more to share with you tomorrow. It came from the furthest away and it’s really cool! 😀

Now on to my little card that I have to share with you today! I have avoided Simon Says Stamp’s Stamptember, honestly I haven’t been wowed by much! Phew! But I had to get the Concord & 9th Collaboration Set and that’s what I used on my card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Solar White 80lb with the Concord & 9th Barnwood Background Stamp (one of the best woodgrain backgrounds I have ever seen, and you know how I love a little woodgrain!) in Altenew Evening Gray Crisp Ink. It’s mounted to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My two pinecones are form the Collaboration Set, all three layers are stamped in Dark Chocolate Crisp Ink. The first layer once, the outline twice and the shadow twice. The are cut out with the Coordinating Die and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler. I adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape and added some Pretty Pink Posh Platinum, Rose Gold and Sparkling Clear Sequins to give it a little sparkle! I love that stamp and like I said the Barnwood Background is life changing! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card and all of the awesome cards that I got for my Birthday! Thank you so much for sharing some of your day with me! Have a spectacular Sunday! 🙂

Paper Players 311

I’m almost all caught up at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! My Hero Arts order is all entered! Finally! LOL! The Magic of Vellum Class was great! Everyone was very impressed with the technique that they learned and I got some feedback for future classes from my talented students! My Parent’s stopped by the store and we got to FaceTime with Aunt Shirley in London. After work it was time for this week’s Thirsty Thursday! Heather, Stephanie and I sat outside and enjoyed the perfect evening! Today I’m off to Manhattan for much needed visit! I’ll stop by The Ink Pad and then go uptown to see my friend Ella. From there I’m going to meet Kim and maybe have some dinner! I’m looking forward to it! As I had mentioned earlier in the week this is my first post for today! There will be another one around 12:00 for the new Design Team that I’m on over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge Blog! Be sure to come back for that!

This morning I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge to share with you…

Paper Players #311

Circles… I haven’t made a round card in a very long time! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out the folded card base except for about 1/8″ at the top. I then trimmed off about an 1/8″ from the bottom of the back panel and put it aside. My front panel on my card is stamped with the Concord & 9th Flourish Photopolymer Stamp Set in Altenew Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris, Midnight Violet, Forest Glades and Evergreen Crisp Inks using my Mini MISTI. I used the same Stitched Circle Die to trim it out and adhered it to the card base with E-Z Runner. To frame the card I cut out a piece of Gold Mirror Card with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames Lawn Cuts and adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is another piece of Gold Mirror Card cut out with the Concord & 9th Wonderful Words Dies. It’s adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Amethyst and Pansy Purple Sequins finish the card! I love that Flourish Set and can’t believe that it’s the first time I’m using it! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks for coming by this morning, don’t forget to stop back this afternoon to see the second post! Have an easy Friday morning! 🙂

OSAT September Blog Hop – Birthday Bash

OSAT Blog Hop Banner

What a super busy day I had yesterday! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was packed! That’s how I would like it every day! I got my Notions Order and the Hero Arts Order finally arrived! Woo hoo! I was selling it faster than I could enter it! I met some new people, Michelle and Deborah, super nice and so much fun! Creative people are the best! I got nothing prepared for my class so I did that after I had a quick dinner, when I got home. I also finished up my projects for today’s blog hop and ran a few errands! Oh how I love to get as much as humanly possible accomplished in one day! Today I have the Magic of Vellum Class that I will be finishing up getting ready for when I get to the store this morning! I also might get to take a trip into Manhattan over the weekend! Now that would be fun!! 😀

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here from my talented friend Tina’s blog, welcome! This month we have a a Birthday Bash theme! Who doesn’t love to make some birthday cards?! I have a card and a gift box that I made with some Altenew goodness to share with you!

First up is the card and the base for that is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I die cut a piece of my favorite Gold Mirror Card with the Spellbinders Damask Motifs Die and adhered it to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My flowers and leaves are from the Altenew Peony Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris and Midnight Violet and the leaves in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive and 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is from the Altenew Beautiful Lady Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Solar White 80lb that is backed with some more Gold Mirror Card. I flagged the left side and adhered it to the card with more 3D Foam Squares. A little scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Amethyst and Lime Sorbet Sequins finishes off the card! I don’t know why but I’m completely addicted to purples lately and I think that the flowers from the Peony Bouquet Set look stunning in them!

OSAT September Blog Hop Card-WM

Next up is my Pillow Box/Gift Card Holder. I cut out some Neenah Solar White 80lb with the Lawn Fawn Pillow Box Lawn Cuts and adhered the box together with Scor-Tape. Another die from the Spellbinders Damask Motifs set is cut out from some more Gold Mirror Card and adhered to the box with some more Scor-Tape. I added another one of the flowers and some leaves that I stamped along with the ones for the card on top of the die cut and added a piece of Glitter Light Purple Washi Tape across the bottom of the flowers to ground them a bit. Some more of the same Pretty Pink Posh Sequins as I used on the card are added and the box is done! What a fun way to give someone special a card with a matching gift card holder! Beats just sticking it in the card!

I hope that you enjoyed my card and pillow box for the OSAT Birthday Bash Blog Hop! You can click on the button below to continue on with the tour and you will go on to see what my fabulous friend Dena has come up with!! SIP Challenge 64 – CAS, Less is More!

How nice it was to have a long weekend! Having two days of that long weekend off was nice too! I did miss the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Renee but we’ll be back at it again today! I had a very crafty day yesterday! I love it when I get to make a bunch of cards ahead of time! I also love to have a nice crafty day at home! I was super productive and got four cards made! Woo hoo! Andrea and I FaceTimed just like the old days! Last night I went over to visit my friend Sue and see my pal Buddy! He missed me more than Sue did! LOL! We had a nice long chat and some good laughs, best way to end the day if you ask me! This morning I have to get my thinking cap on so I can plan this week’s Magic of Vellum Class at the store! We all know how much I love me some Vellum! 😀

The first Tuesday of the month, that means that we have a new Guest Designer over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Blog! This month it’s Jennifer Timko! To start the month off we have a Clean and Simple, Less is More Challenge…

SIP Challenge 64 - CAS

I did an almost one layer card with something that I love the look of but don’t do enough, masking! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the flowers from the Altenew Remember This Photopolymer Stamp Set onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. The large flower is then stamped onto a piece of Post-it Note and cut that out with my Scissors. After I stamped the base layer of the flower in Warm Sunshine I put the mask over it and stamped the outlines and leaves of the other two flowers in Warm Sunshine, Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades. The additional layers of all of the flowers are stamped in Mango Smoothie and Buttercream. My greeting is from the Altenew Painted Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Jet Black. To add a little detail I used the largest of the Lawn Fan Small Dotted Rectangle Stackables Lawn Cuts to trim down my panel. It’s adhered to the card base with E-Z Runner and the card is finished! I really love the Altenew Florals and must remember how much I like masking, it really is an awesome technique! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out Jennifer’s and the rest of the crazy talented Design Team’s cards. After you had a dose of inspiration enter your take on the challenge in the gallery! Thank you very much fro coming by today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 252

Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day, nice and sunny and not too hot! The second wave of MISTI’s arrived at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store in the morning and our friends Elyse and Nancy stopped by in the afternoon! I finished my cards for this month’s Card Class and will post a picture on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Instagram and Facebook pages tomorrow! I also played with my Crystal Katana Tool and I love it!! Dinner last night with my Parents was tacos! Yum! After dinner I came home and crafted for bit and then Taylor stopped by. We ran to Target to get a few “necessities” and then I just chilled for the rest of the evening. Today I want to see if I can get things set up for this week’s Magic of Vellum Class. We are closed tomorrow and Monday, yay for two days off in a row!

Before we get to today’s card I want to thank Linda for choosing me as her Prince for last week’s challenge! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE! For this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge I made a super clean and simple card to share with you …

Freshly Made Sketches 252

The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. Across the bottom is a strip of White Gold Curious Metallic. I heat embossed the flower and leaves from the Altenew Magnolias for Her Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder onto some Aches 140lb Watercolor Paper. They are colored in with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors and a #4 Silver Brush. After they had dried I cut them out with my Scissors and adhered the leaves with Dot Runner Adhesive and the flower with 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black and also heat embossed with Clear. A few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold Sequins add a little sparkle and complete the card! I played around with the watercoloring, adding some layers after it had dried and I love the effect! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for spending some of your Saturday with me! Have an absolutely awesome day! 🙂

Mojo Monday 463

And it’s time to start another week! I really enjoyed my weekend! We had a nice day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. The Novak sisters came up to work on some projects and I introduced them to the MISTI! We have another Altenew stamping master! Renee worked on her next piece of the Home Decor project and I got caught up on some administrative things. I snuck out a little early and booked my Parent’s trip to Florida. They are going to meet my Aunt, Uncle and cousins from England in Florida. They are leaving on my birthday! Pretty messed up right?! LOL! I also made the mistake of watching the MTV VMA’s, what a horrible production! The performances were ok but the hosts and the fillers were appalling! Maybe I’m just getting old?! Anyway, today I have to start working on my cards for the September Card Class, that will be fun!

Monday, Mojo Monday! YAY! Here is this week’s sketch…

Mojo463

Oh, Tall & Skinny, love them! I started working on my card at the store and assembled it when I got home. My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 1/2″ wide. The background is a piece of Solar White 80lb and that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I added a strip of Bo Bunny Believe 12×12 Paper, with the end flagged, down the right side of the card. Across the card is a piece of Amethyst Stardream Metallic and going across that is a piece of Gold Mirror Card. I stamped my image and greeting from the Altenew Tulip Photopolymer Stamp Set in Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields and Deep Iris for the tulip and Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades for the stem, the greeting is also stamped in Deep Iris. The piece is then backed with a piece of Cyber Grape and Fun Foam and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Pansy Purple, Gold and Lime Sorbet Sequins with Multi-Matte Medium around the tulip and the card is done! I love that beautiful layered tulip and the font in the greeting is perfect for the set! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Be sure and check out the rest of the Team’s cards over on the BLOG and let’s see yours in the gallery! Thank you very much for starting you week off visiting me! Have a simple Monday! 🙂

Do What Makes You Happy Hibiscus

Well, I just had the most fun day yesterday! My friend Crystal, aka Super Stamp Girl, stopped by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store with her friends Donna and Laurie who also had her daughter with her. We had a very nice visit and as an added bonus Crystal brought me some apple cider donuts! They were delicious by the way! I love getting to see my crafty friends in person! All four of the ladies were wonderful! Here is a little picture of us…

Crystal & Friends @ SIP

Thanks so much Crystal for coming by with your lovely friends! Can’t wait for your next visit!

The crop was fun as always, I love getting to chat with all of the ladies! I had the nicest ride home in the car, I can’t explain how happy it makes me to drive along with the top down and the music on. It’s the little things! My Parent’s went to Pennsylvania and when they got home we had dinner. After that I ran a few errands and then made my card for today. Such a nice Saturday! 😀

My card that I have to share with you today is believe it or not a nice quick and simple card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front in a piece of the Altenew White Woodgrain Paper. The flowers and the butterfly are all from the Altenew Wild Hibiscus Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed them onto a piece of Black 110lb in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. My sentiment comes from the Altenew Beautiful Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Gold on Black. I used a 1″ Circle Punch to cut off the right side, just for something different. All of the flowers, butterfly and greeting are adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I could have left the card as is and been happy but you know that I think everything looks better with some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins! I added Sparkling Clear, Onyx and Gold ones and then added a few Small Clear Droplets to the middles of the 8mm Sparkling Clear ones for a little something extra! It really was a nice simple card but I love the look of the gold embossing on the black card stock with the subtle white woodgrain background and the sentiment is awesome! I hope that you enjoyed the card today! Thanks very much for checking in! Have an amazing Sunday! 🙂
