Sue’s Birthday Card!

Hello my friends! How is your week going? Mine is pretty busy but we all know that I like it like that! LOL! Yesterday Sue came by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to help me out for a while. We unpacked and got orders put out and ordered more stuff! Renee had her Christmas Card Club and her peeps stopped by to make their cards and pick up some goodies from me! After work I stopped by Heather’s and picked up something that I had left there this morning when I stopped by for breakfast! Then I came home and had a little dinner with my Parents. After dinner I spent some time working on a few projects in the Stampin’ Galley, yes, I can never get enough craftiness in my day! LOL! Starting tomorrow I have some VERY exciting things to share with you! You won’t want to miss it some make sure that you come by! I’m a little giddy about it so you know it has to be good!

In honor of Sue’s visit to the store I have her Birthday card from last week to share with you today! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My flowers are from the Altenew Botanical Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the main flower in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink onto a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card using my Mini MISTI. I did a few times to make sure that I got a nice dark clean image. To color it in I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors and a Waterbrush. In between layers I used my Heat Tool to dry the layers and when I was finished I used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out. On the card front I stamped another image from the set twice to serve as a subtle background. My frame is a piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out using the Spellbinders Triple Tear Nestabilities Die. A little Multi-Matte Medium Holds the frame in place and some Foam Tape adheres the die cut flower to the card. My greeting is from the Altenew Painted Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Intense Black. Finally some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Gold and Raspberry Sequins are added around the flower for some more shine! I do love the simple feel to the card and the way the watercolor flower just leaps off the front! I hope that you enjoyed Sue’s Birthday as much as she did! Don’t forget to come back tomorrow for my little surprise! Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a tantalizing Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 200!

Ahh… Wednesday! Always seems to be the busiest day of the week for me lately! My Tuesday was a pretty busy one too! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was very busy! Renee has been having issues with her Dell Computer running Windows… need I say more?! After about an hour on the phone with Microsoft they finally determined that it was the last update that messed up the computer so we had to roll it back to fix it. I concentrated on getting some more orders in and working with my Rep on a  few things. The weather was just lovely again, the convertible makes me such a happy boy! When I got home from the store Daniel was still at my Parent’s and it was National Selfie Day so he and I haven’t had a selfie in a long time! Here is our contribution…

Daniel & Me NSD

Oh how I love that little boy! After I had some dinner I headed over to see my friend Sue! She was having some computer issues too so I got that straightened out and we sat and chatted for a bit on the front steps. When I got home I had to finish my card for today, last minute as usual! I need to work on my planning a little more! Today will be super busy at the store! I have Concord & 9th, Altenew and Notions arriving! Just in time for my class tomorrow! YAY!

Today is a special Wednesday post for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge! It’s our 200th one!! I am happy to say that I have been playing along since challenge 7!! Here is this week’s sketch…

PCCCS200 DT Sketch 6-22-2016

I wanted to play with my Hero Arts Seahorse again but I hadn’t used purple in a while so I Googled just to make sure that there are purple Seahorses and there are! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of paper from the Bo Bunny Believe 12×12 Paper Line, it’s the Devotion sheet. Next up I used the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Rectangles Stackables to cut out a piece of Ballerina Pink and Cyber Grape. The pink is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. On my purple piece I used the seaweed from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set and heat embossed them in Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder. That panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I then adhered some purple and silver glitter tape to some Solar White 80lb and adhered that to the card on diagonals crossing each other. A piece of Pale Aqua is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Circles Stackables and adhered to the card with more E-Z Runner. My images are all from the Hero Arts Color Layering Seahorse Photopolymer Stamp Set. The Seahorse is stamped in Passion Flower, Grape Juice and Intense Black, the Starfish in Wet Cement and Cup O Joe and the Shell in Soft Pink and Wet Cement. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the circle. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder on more Ballerina Pink and tucked under the circle. Of course I added some Pretty Pink Posh Silver, Pink Peony and Amethyst Sequins for a little sparkle! I love that patterned paper and the super cool Seahorse! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the 200th Challenge over on the Paper Craft Crew blog! There is some blog candy and all sorts of other goodness going on over on the BLOG so go and check it out! While you’re there make a card and enter it in the gallery to help us celebrate! Thank you so very much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful Wednesday my peeps! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #99 and Create with Connie and Mary 264

Hmm… I wonder what day it is today? Could it be… FRIDAY?!?! Yes kids, it’s Friday, my favorite day of the week. Weather here, gorgeous. Weekend plans, Manhattan on Saturday and craftiness on Sunday! What are you people up to?

Today’s post is something I haven’t done before and that’s combine two challenges. I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the colors from Create with Connie and Mary. So here’s this week’s inspiration…

Freshly Made Sketches #99CCMC 264

For the base of my card I stamped the Travel Journal Builder Wheel in Smoky Slate on Smoky Slate Card Stock. The panel in the middle is a piece of Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper backed with some Blushing Bride. All of the elements on the card are from the Circle Card and Label Card Thinlits Dies cut from Blushing Bride. The circles are cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies from Smoky Slate. For a little sparkle I used the Small Heart Punch to punch out some Silver Glimmer Paper and adhered it with a Stampin’ Dimensional on the i heart u. I’m really having a lot of fun playing with the new Thinlits Dies and I love that the elements work so well even when you don’t use the actual card base. Thanks so much for stopping by today to see my combined Freshly Made Sketches and Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card. As always, I appreciate your visit and hope that you have an awesome Friday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 93 & Create with Connie and Mary 263

A late Saturday good morning to you! I slept in a little to catch up on some of the sleep that I didn’t get all week. I feel a lot better now! What’s in store for your weekend? It’s nice out here today so I will definitely have to get out for a bit. There will of course be some crafting, what is the weekend without some crafting?! I may also have a little surprise for you tomorrow, we’ll see how much I can get done today!

As is the case sometimes I have a double post for you today. I have both my Freshly Made Sketches and Create with Connie and Mary cards. Both were fun sketches this week and I did two holiday cards. One Halloween and one Christmas.

First up is Freshly Made Sketches and this week our host is Jen M….

Freshly Made Sketches #98

The base of my card is Pumpkin Pie Card Stock. I used some of the Witches’ Brew Designer Series Paper for the background and backed it with a piece of Basic Black. A square of Summer Starfruit, backed with some more Basic Black, is a nice place for the candies from the Halloween Hello Stamp Set to hang out. The greeting, from the same set, is punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch and lightly sponged with Pumpkin Pie and it sits next to a Brights Designer Button. The cool candy corn strip is also from the Halloween Hello Stamp Set and is colored in with Pumpkin Pie and Summer Starfruit Stampin’ Write Markers. I really love it when you can make a border out of a stamp. I also really like the colors in the Witches’ Brew DSP!

FMS 98

Next up I have my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s sketch challenge…

CCMC 263

Fun and simple! The base of my card is Pool Party Card Stock. I stamped the snowflakes from the Festive Flurry Stamp Set in Pool Party on Whisper White and stamped them again so I could cut them into the rectangles on the sketch. Each one is backed with a piece of Pool Party and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is also stamped in Pool Party. I really love the simplicity and the little extra something that popped up image gives it. Thanks you very much for stopping by to see both my Freshly Made Sketches and Create with Connie and Mary card for their challenges this week. I hope you have a great Saturday!

Pals Paper Arts 166 & Display Project 8

Good day! I had a nice time in the Hamptons and then I had breakfast with Kim, Joe and the kiddies. It was rainy here until the afternoon when it cleared up and we got some sun. How is your weekend going so far? I have a little picture of the beach I went to on Friday…Amagansett Beach

It’s a little overcast in the picture but the water was a lovely temperature and the sand was nice and soft. We went for a nice walk along the water and it was bliss!

On to the post! Today I have my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts and we have a color challenge from them…

PPA 166

A nice color combo and I decided to go with a freestyle collage card that I got the inspiration for from Pinterest. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Build a Banner Simply Created kit and a Sponge Dauber with some Smokey Slate to create the right side on the background piece. Two pieces of paper from the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack are layered on top. The tag is the World Map Background Stamp in Daffodil Delight and half of a piece of Smokey Slate punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch is on top. I used the Oh, Hello Stamp Set and some Strawberry Slush on Whisper White punched out with the Label Bracket Punch with a 1″ square and some Gingham Garden Washi Tape to back the greeting that is from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set. A piece of Linen Thread tied in a bow completes the tag. Some chevrons punched out with the Chevron Border Punch and a circle cut out from Smokey Slate with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies finishes the card. I love the random products that can go so well together. Thanks very much for coming by to see my Pals Paper Arts card for this week’s color challenge. Take a little scroll down to see my second card from the Mosaic Display Stamper projects. Enjoy your Sunday!

Create with Connie and Mary & Display Stamper 7

Good Morning from the Hamptons! I had a nice day yesterday apart from the intense traffic. It took a long time to get out her but it’s well worth the trip. You can just hear the ocean from the house that I’m staying in, so peaceful and calming. I spent some time with friends last night and had an impromptu BBQ. It’s nice to get away, even if just for a bit. I hope that your weekend is off to a good start too!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge…

CCMC 262

Some of my current favorite colors are in there! The base of my card is Smokey Slate Card Stock and the background is a piece of Bermuda Bay that is embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped one of the stamps from the July Paper Pumpkin in Bermuda Bay and Smokey Slate on some Whisper White and punched it out with the Hexagon Punch. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to a piece of Basic Black. The greeting is from the Yippee-Skippee Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay on a piece of Smokey Slate that I cut out with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies. I cut out some more of the hexagon shapes with my Paper Snips and they too are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do love the color combination and the stamps that came with last month’s Paper Pumpkin and pretty neat! Thank you for coming by to see my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s challenge. Scroll down to the end of the post to see the first of my Display Projects using the Quatrefancy Suite. Freshly Made Sketches & Display Stamper 6

Yeah! It’s FRIDAY! The week went a little slowly for me how about you? I’m off to the Hamptons this morning for work to visit the school that we have out there. We are leaving around 11:30am because there is usually a lot of weekend traffic that starts around 1:00pm. It’s supposed to be nice today so possibly some beach later with my friend Heather who is meeting me out there. 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. There is also the last of my Hello, Lovely Display Projects at the end of the post. First up we have a sketch from the lovely Jen T….

Freshly Made Sketches #97

Nice and simple! I decided to use some of the things I learned from my friend Brian’s demonstration he gave at Convention about using color on Masculine cards. The base of my card is Sahara Sand Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper with that great houndstooth pattern in Tangerine Tango. I stamped the image for the main panel from the Remembering Christmas Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I knocked a little more of the powder off so it would have a slightly weathered look like the DSP. It’s backed with a piece of Early Espresso and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The two flags are stamped with one of the stamps from last month’s Paper Pumpkin in Early Espresso and Tangerine Tango. Finally the greeting is from the From My Heart Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. I love when you can use a stamp from a Christmas set for something else and the deer head is perfect for Masculine cards. The Tangerine Tango is great paired with the neutrals of Sahara Sand and Early Espresso and makes for a nice pop of color. Thanks so much for stopping by to see my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. Scroll down to the end of the post to see my last Display project for Hello, Lovely. I hope you have a lovely day! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 165, Sneak Peek & Display Project

Good morning my awesome followers! How was your Saturday? Mine was very nice, I went into Manhattan to meet my friend Kim and we had lunch at the Boat House in Central Park and then had a nice relaxing meander through SoHo. Sometimes having no particular plan is the best plan! Here is a little picture taken from Bow Bridge of the lake. There were a lot of people out on the row boats yesterday.

Bow Bridge Central Park Doi

All in all a very nice day! For today’s post I have my Pals Paper Arts card for this week’s challenge and I also have the first of my Display Stamper Projects to share with you at the end of this post. First here is the sketch for this week’s Pals…

PPA 165

For the base of my card I used a piece of Smokey Slate Card Stock. The papers are from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack* and the one on the right is backed with a piece of Costal Cabana, I also flagged the piece of DSP on the right at the bottom. The image is from the Festive Flurry Stamp Set* and is stamped in Pool Party and cut out with the coordinating Festive Flurry Framelits Dies*. For the greeting I used one of the sets that I got from Convention,  the Tags 4 You Stamp Set*, stamped in Smokey Slate and punched out with the Label Bracket Punch*. Both the snowflake and the greeting are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really love the colors in the Winter Frost DSP and all of the coordinating Framelits and Punches from the new 2013 Holiday are great! You can start placing your orders from the new Holiday Catalog this Thursday and also order a set of the new Thinlits Card Dies too! Thank you so much for stopping by to see my Pals Paper Arts card for this week’s sketch challenge. Don’t forget, after the supply list is the first of my Display Stamper projects from Convention. Ahh, I feel much better now that I have had a full nights sleep! How are all of you doing today? Is everyone home safely from Convention? I had to make some projects yesterday, four days without crafting is way too long for me! Today I have two cards for you but before I get to those here are a few more pictures from 2013 Convention!

Like I said before I have two cards for you today. I wanted to get my Freshly Made Sketches card and Create with Connie and Mary card in before it was too late! First up we have my Freshly Made Sketches card. This week the sketch is provided by Narelle…

Freshly Made Sketches #95

The base of the card is Basic Black Card Stock. All of the Designer Series Paper, the frame and the sentiment on the frame are from a Paper Pumpkin Kit. I love this kit because of the frames and the colors. The people in the picture are Me, Wendy Weixler and Brian King. The camera image is form the Around the World Stamp Set and is stamped in Summer Starfruit, I used the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch to punch it out. A little Pool Party flag tucked behind it completes the card. It’s definitely a fun way to add a photo to a card and show that the Paper Pumpkin kits can be used for much more than what they are intended!

FMS #95

Next up we have my card for the Create with Connie and Mary color/sketch challenge…

CCMC 260 -1

CCMC 260 -2

I used the colors and some elements from the sketch for my card. The base is Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock. I used the Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die to cut out a piece of Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper. A piece of Crisp Cantaloupe is cut out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits Dies and embossed with the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The leaves are made using the Circles Collection Framelits Dies and a piece of Pistachio Pudding. A piece of Calypso Coral and Baked Brown Sugar are flagged and slipped underneath. The image is a stamp that Shannon West designed and was given out as a Prize Patrol gift. I cut it out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. I thought the stamp was a great way to use one of the personalized stamps instead of just with a name and address. I also love the way that the Pretty Print Folder goes with the DSP. Thank you very very much for stopping by to see my two challenge cards! I always appreciate your visits and look forward to seeing you again tomorrow!

Create with Connie and Mary 259 & Sneak Peek

Hi everyone! How’s it going today? It’s going pretty good over here. Yesterday was gorgeous, a little hot but a beautiful sunny day. I took Winston to work with me yesterday and my friend Danielle’s sister Stephanie brought their dog Dexter up. Winston and Dexter got along quite well, they played and Winston was nice and shared his toys and his water with Dexter. It was like a ghost town at work so it was nice to have the extra company.

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary Sketch 259…

CCMC 259

Fun and different wouldn’t you agree? The base of today’s card is So Saffron Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the new Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the 2013 Holiday Catalog. The strip across the middle is a piece of Bermuda Bay that I cut both sides of with the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies. The half circle is made using the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die from So Saffron. The images are all from the Around the World Stamp Set and are stamped in Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay and So Saffron. I used the 1 1/4″ Circle punch, Hexagon Punch and Paper Snips to cut them out and some Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them to the card. I like the bold Bermuda Bay with the subtle So Saffron and Soft Suede together. Thanks for coming by to see my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s sketch challenge.
