Create with Connie and Mary 258

Yeah, it’s the weekend peeps! And the upcoming week is a 4 day week because of July 4th. Winston is not looking forward to that holiday at all. I need to get him a Thunder Shirt this weekend, my poor Winnie. I’m off to Manhattan and the Fire Island today. Busy but fun and that’s always a good way to start a weekend. What are you all up to?

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary 258 colors…

Before I get to my card today I want to thank the lovely ladies for choosing my card as one of their top three picks for last week’s sketch challenge! You can see my original post here and the Create with Connie and Mary post here. For today’s card I started off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Daffodil Delight and across the bottom, a piece of Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper. I punched out a piece of Night of Navy with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and used the Small Heart Punch to punch out a negative of the heart. The greeting is from the Banner Greetings Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Melon Mambo. The “washi tape” is from the Tape It Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy. Underneath that is a flower from the Secret Garden Stamp Set that is cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits. The butterfly is from the Best of Butterflies Stamp Set and is punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. Some Basic Jewels Rhinestones give the card a little sparkle. Thanks for visiting me today to see my Create with Connie and Mary color challenge card for this week. Have a great Saturday!

I’m not even going to say anything about Monday! We are back at the start of another week after a pretty nice weekend. How was your weekend? The Christening yesterday was a lot of fun. I got to see friends I haven’t seen in a while and the little kiddies are just too cute! To top it off I drove into Manhattan and home with the top down in the car, the perfect end to a beautiful weekend!

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary 257, a sketch…

CCMC 257

The card I’m posting today is the second one I made for this challenge, I absolutely hated the first one! The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. I flagged a piece of Costal Cabana for the background. The neat chevron border across the top is made with the Show & Tell 2 Photopolymer Stamp Set. I then cut out a piece of Strawberry Slush with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits Dies and stamped it in Strawberry Slush with the Dictionary Background Stamp. The hexagons are from the Six Sided Sampler Stamp Set and the hello is from the Thanks & Hello Stamp Set, they are both punched out with the Hexagon Punch. For the abstract flower I used the Flower Shop Stamp Set and punched it out with the Pansy Punch. A little piece of Costal Cabana and a Basic Jewel Rhinestone finish off the card. I’m really liking the unusual combinations of stamps lately and hope you are enjoying them too. Thank you for coming by to see my Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge card for this week. I hope you have a nice start to your week!

Paper Players #151 :-)

Hello everyone! How is your weekend going so far. I ended up not going into Manhattan yesterday morning so my friend came out on the train. I picked her up at the station and we stopped at Target on the way home. We had some lunch and then chatted for a bit before heading out to the mall. Kim needed some new work clothes so we got those and then we met my friend Anthony for dinner. It was a very nice day and we have the Christening this morning and that should be a good time. Later on I’ll drive Kim home. Fun!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players. This time around we have a sketch from Nance…

Paper Players #151 Sketch 6-23-2013

I will admit that I had a little trouble with this one at first. It’s very different but it turned out to be a lot of fun in the end! The base of the card is Cajun Craze Card Stock. The background is stamped with the Window Shop Stampin’ Around Jumbo Wheel in Night of Navy. I thought it was a little strong so I adhered a piece of Vellum over the to soften it a bit. All of the stamped images are from the Lovely Romance Stamp Set and are stamped in Cajun Craze. The lower one is cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies and pierced around the edge with the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The larger one on the left is cut out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits Dies and the lower one with the 1 1/4″Circle Punch. Two Regals Candy dots are adhered to them and one to the greeting. A piece of Summer Starfruit 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon goes across the middle and a simple knot is tied on the right. I think the stamp set has some great images and so does that wheel! Thank you so very much for stopping by to see my Paper Players Guest Designer card for this week’s sketch challenge from Nance. Stop by the blog and see the great projects that the rest of the design team has created and don’t forget to enter your card in the gallery! Thanks again and have a fun Sunday! 🙂

Good morning! Saturday, no work all play and the weather is supposed to be nice here today! Did you get all of your Father’s Day cards made? I, like always have projects to make this weekend and that makes me happy! LOL! I have been trying some more abstract and different styles lately and I’m really liking it. You’ll have to let me know what you think of today’s card which was inspired by one that I saw on Pinterest. Oh, and I’m experimenting with my photography too, your feedback is appreciated!

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary 256, colors…

What a fun color combination and conveniently they are all in the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. There is a strip of the Soho Subway DSP across the bottom and the panel on the right is backed by some Very Vanilla to make it a little more sturdy. I used a thin strip of Champagne Glimmer Paper on the piece across the bottom and also for some of the circles. The circles are punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, 1/2″ Circle Punch and 1″ Circle Punch. I stamped the Island Indigo ones with a stamp from the Notable Notions Stamp Set in Island Indigo. The circles are then randomly adhered, some with SNAIL and some with Stampin’ Dimensionals, on the panel on the right. For the greeting I used the Hello, Lovely Stamp Set, stamped in Early Espresso, and mounted to the panel with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few Island Indigo and Early Espresso Candy Dots finish off the card. I LOVE the candy dots, I’m going to be going through a lot of them! I also like the Champagne Glimmer Paper with the color combo, I think it works quite nicely. Thank you for checking in with me today to see my Create with Connie and Mary color challenge card. I hope that you have a productive or relaxing Saturday! 🙂

Hey hey, it’s Friday! Made it through another week! It’s going to rain all day today and a good part of tomorrow, I feel some crafty time coming on! What is going on this weekend by you? I need to finish a bunch of projects (don’t I always!) and I would like to squeeze a movie in too! I’ll let you know how that goes. I have some new goodies to play with so it will be hard to get me away from the craft desk this weekend!

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary Sketch 255…

I see a flag! LOL! The base of my card is Tangerine Tango Card Stock. I used a piece of paper from the Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper Pack for the background. The flagged piece of Crisp Cantaloupe is embossed with the Beautifully Baroque Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I choose the greeting from the Lovely Romance Stamp Set. It’s stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it to the card. I absolutely love the Venetian Romance DSP, especially the piece I used. The colors and the script with the images are just amazing! Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look at my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s sketch challenge. Freshly Made Sketches #89

Well hello Thursday, so nice to see you again. What are you guys up to? I got my new Catalog order last night and went over to my friend Sandy’s and we mounted stamps, chatted and laughed. It definitely made the stamp mounting go faster and I do love a little Sandy time! It was another gorgeous day here yesterday and the first half of today is supposed to be nice but the rain is to come later on and stay through Saturday. Looks like another crafty first half of the weekend!

Today’s post – Freshly Made Sketches #89, a sketch from Rita…

Freshly Made Sketches #89

A fun little square layout indeed! I needed to play with some new goodies so I used a few on this card. The base my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. For the background I used some Whisper White and stamped it with the new Off the Grid Stamp in Gumball Green. The main image and greeting are from the Perfect Blend Stamp Set. I love coffee so I was quite happy to see this really great set in the new catalog! The cup is stamped in Early Espresso and the sleeve in Gumball Green on Crumb Cake. I cut both out with my Paper Snips and adhered them to a base of Gumball Green that I embossed with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It is backed with some Early Espresso and the flags are cut out with the Bitty Banner Framelits Dies and the new Big Shot Magnetic Platform which works great! Some Early Espresso Bakers Twine wrapped around the left side and tied in a bow finishes off the card. I really do love the new goodies that I used on the card, they may just be my favorites from the new catalog. The Gumball Green and Early Espresso just makes me want a Starbucks! Thank you so much for stopping by to see my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. I hope you have your coffee and have a great day! 🙂

Saturday, what a nice day indeed! How are you all faring after your short week? I’m doing well. it was hot and humid here yesterday and we are in for more of the same today. Not complaining, just sharing! Did you all get to place your new catalog orders yesterday?! I did and soon I will have some more fun goodies to feed my creative outlet. I’m off to Jones Beach Theater to see Pitbull & Ke$ha tonight with Heather. I’m a big fan of Pitbull but poor Ke$ha looks like she rolls right out of the dumpster onto the stage. It should be a good night! 🙂

Ahh, Pool Party and Island Indigo, two of my faves! I wanted a nice clean card and I think that’s just what I got. The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. A strip of “Vintage” Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper and a piece of Pool Party that is embossed with the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder are each flagged and on the right side. Next, a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with the Label Love Stamp Set and punched out with the Artisan Label Punch. The center greeting is from the A Round Array Stamp Set and is punched out with the 7/8′ Scallop Circle Punch. Both are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This is a great quick card and would be good for so many different occasions. I love the layout and the simplicity! Create with Connie and Mary 253 & Sneak Peek

It’s the weekend people, a three day weekend! It’s going to be rainy and dreary today so I will be crafting the day away. What are you all up to? Any BBQ’s and gatherings going on? It is supposed to be miserable until Sunday Evening but Monday is supposed to be nice so I’ll be sure and make plans to get out of the house on Monday.

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary, Sketch 253…

Now that is an awesome sketch! CAS and some flags! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White for the background. I stamped the greeting from the A Word for You Stamp Set in Strawberry Slush* before I embossed it. The piece of paper is from the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack* and a piece of Daffodil Delight is on top of that with some Whisper White 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon. The circles are from the Circle Circus Stamp Set and are stamped in Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Pool Party and Strawberry Slush*. I love the all white background with the pop of colors. The embossed background gives it some interest while keeping it simple. Thank you, as always, for stopping by to see my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s sketch. Have a great Saturday and I’ll see you here tomorrow for my Paper Players Design Team card!

Woo hoo! The color renovation has been announced! I’m so happy that they have kept four of the five 2011-2013 In-Colors! Bermuda Bay, Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzaz and Blushing Bride along with a new color Smokey Shadow. They have also moved some colors to different families and of course they are retiring some colors. Say so long to Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Bravo Burgundy, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard and River Rock. Change is a good thing!

Yeah! It’s Friday! My favorite day of the week, work will done soon and it will be the weekend! So, last night I went to see Star Trek: Into the Darkness in IMAX 3D and it was amazing! I loved it. It was action packed, funny and sad. Not things that you would necessarily expect from a Star Trek movie. I may even go and see it again! The weather here today was a little muggy in the morning but then it turned into a nice sunny day. This weekend I will be heading out to the Hampton’s with my friend Chantal so that should be fun.

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary 252, colors…

Some nice soft colors and I kept my card nice and clean too. The base of the card is Soft Suede Card Stock. I used a piece of the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper and the Artisan Label Punch* to punch out a piece from the middle. I stamped one of the stamps from Label Love in Sahara Sand on Very Vanilla and adhered it to the base. The DSP is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two pieces of Sahara Sand are flagged and adhered to either side of the label. The butterfly is from the Best of 25 Butterflies Stamp Set and the greeting is from the A Round Array Stamp Set. I really enjoyed the color combination and the negative punch is fun too! I Thanks for visiting me today to see my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s color challenge. Have a great Friday!

Woo hoo! The color renovation has been announced! I’m so happy that they have kept four of the five 2011-2013 In-Colors! I’m a little sad to see that Lucky Limeade didn’t make the cut but we also got some former In-Colors back too!

Stampin’ Up! has released their first Photopolymer Stamp Set! It’s called Designer Typeset! Hey there! How are we all doing today? I’m doing great! Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous, lots of sun and topless driving! I did my cleaning in the morning and then some crafting, went and had lunch with my friends, did some more crafting, went to my daughter’s school to see her art exhibit and then went to dinner with Anthony and Bill. A very nice day indeed! Today it’s supposed to rain so it will be a good day to do some more crafting!

I’m really liking the new Photopolymer Stamps, they have a nice modern feel to them and lining them up is a breeze. The base of my card is Smokey Slate Card Stock*. The lines up the card on the right and all of the other stamped images are from the Show & Tell 2 Photopolymer Stamp Set and are either stamped in Bermuda Bay* or Smokey Slate*. The piece of paper is from the Floral District Designer Series paper Pack. The chevrons are cut out with my Paper Snips and the panel of DSP is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It’s a nice simple modern graphic card. Thank you very much for visiting with me today to see my Create with Connie and Mary Sketch 251 card. Have a great Saturday no matter what you do!
