Fab Friday 20

Ahh yes peeps, it FRIDAY! And it didn’t come soon enough! Yesterday was overcast and rainy but today it’s supposed to clear up and tomorrow is supposed to be nice. This week at work has been super busy and I will be glad to focus on some crafting this weekend to relieve some stress. Making cards is definitely therapy for me, when I don’t get the chance to make something I really do feel like there is something missing in my day. It is definitely one of the things that I am most thankful for, the ability to be creative and I thank you for sharing it with me!

Today’s post – Fab Friday 20, the new In-Colors…

Fab Fri 20 Color 6-14-2013

It’s very rare that I make a card that doesn’t use the Big Shot or more than one stamp set, today is one of those rare occasions! The base of my card is Vellum Card Stock. I thought it would be neat to use it for the card itself for a change too. The background is a piece of Whisper White. The images and greeting are from the Six Sided Sampler Stamp Set and are stamped in Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Costal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe. I used the Hexagon Punch to punch them out and adhered them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the colors together and the hexagons are very cool and trendy right now. Thank you for stopping by to take a look at my Fab Friday Design Team card for the color challenge. Be sure to head on over to the blog and take a look at what my clever teammates have come up with. Don’t forget to enter your card in the gallery so we can see what neat cards you come up with. I hope you have a quick and good Friday!

Now on to today’s post which is my Fab Friday Design Team card. This time we have a rather neat sketch…

Fab Fri 19 Sketch 5-31-2013

This was one of those ones that I knew what I was going to use as soon as I saw it! Love when that happens! The base of my card is Island Indigo Card Stock. I used a piece of paper from the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper Pack and backed it with some Gumball Green. The circle is punched out from the 2 1/2″ Circle punch and backed with some Early Espresso. I choose the images form the Fine Feathers Stamp Set and stamped them in Island Indigo and Gumball Green. The greeting is from the Oh, Hello! Stamp Set and is flagged and backed by some Early Espresso. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals give it a little pop. I love the Island Indigo and Gumball Green together. I think the Gumball tones down the Indigo while the Indigo gives the gumball some oomph. Thank you very much for stopping by to see my Design Team card for the sketch from Fab Friday. Head on over to the blog to see the other designers work and enter your card so you can be a Fab Fave! Enjoy your Friday and don’t forget to place your orders!!

Fab Friday 18 & Sneak Peek

A very happy to Friday to you all! I’m off today and am going to do some cleaning, crafting and relaxing. I look at a day off as a chance to catch up on some neglected things. Cleaning as of late has been neglected and relaxing is always neglected, the crafting is just a necessity! The weather here today was torrential downpours and then some sun. It was alittle muggy but not cold so I’m ok with that!

Today’s post – Fab Friday Design Team 18 Color Challenge…

Fab Fri 18 Color 5-09-2013

The idea for this card started out with wanting to punch the new alphabet out with the new Mosaic Punch and grew from there. The base of the card is Soft Suede. The middle consists of some Print Poetry Designer Series Paper, Summer Starfruit embossed with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and some Primrose Petals stamped with the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set. The letters are from the ABC – 123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers Stamp Set* stamped in Raspberry Ripple and punched out with the Mosaic Punch*. I think I have mentioned how fond I am of the new alphabet, it’s a great size and I like the sketched look. Thank you for visiting with me today to see my Fab Friday Design Team card for this week’s color challenge. Check out the Fab Friday Blog to see what the other designers have for you and enter your card for me to see! Have a wonderful day!

Happy Friday!! Woo hoo!! I loves me some Friday! I’m so glad that the week is over. I’m also super happy that I get my new catalog pre-order goodies later. It’s also my friend Anthony’s birthday tomorrow and we will be headed out to Ruby Tuesday’s for dinner later. I’m going to be mean and make them sing to him! LOL! Tomorrow morning I’m off to Manhattan to see my buddy Kim. It’s supposed to be nice so we are going to wander around and hopefully get some Mediterranean food for lunch. Yum!

Today’s post – Fab Friday 17 sketch…

Fab Fri 17 Sketch 4-25-2013

I do love a tag as we all know and the flagged piece is an added bonus! The base of my card is Island Indigo and the paper for the background and the panel is from the World Spectacular Designer Series Paper Pack. The stamped images are all form the You’re Amazing Stamp Set except for Friend which is from the Family Reunion Stamp Set. The tag is created with my Simply Scored and I used a Sponge Dauber with Island Indigo to ink up the edges. Some tiny staples hold the little tickets to the panel and the brad is a “Vintage” Star Brad. I love the World Spectacular Product suite and am happy that the stamp set carried over. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge. Stop by the blog to see what the other designers have come up with and don’t forget create your own and upload it to the gallery. Guess what?!?! It’s FRIDAY!! Woo hoo!! One of my favorite days of the week! This was a very busy week and I will be super happy at 5:00 when it’s finally over. I’m out to dinner with my friend Anthony and his mom tonight. We are going to get him an iPad for his birthday! I always love a trip to the Apple Store and some time with my peeps is always great. I’m off to the city tomorrow to see some friends and wander around a bit. Then it will be a crafty Sunday! 🙂

Today’s card – Fab Friday Color Challenge Design Team…

Fab Fri 16 Color 4-12-2013

I was inspired by my clever friend LeAnne’s card from Tuesday. I love the Chevron Embossing Folder and cut out it looks great. It does take a little time but the end result is quite cool. The base of my card is Crumb Cake. I embossed some Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Summer Starfruit with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and used my Paper Snips a lot! A piece of Crumb Cake made into a tag and stamped with the Oh, Hello! Stamp Set tied with some Linen Thread finishes off the card nicely. I hope that you enjoyed my Fab Friday Design Team card for this week’s color challenge. Stop by the blog and see what my fellow designers have for you and enter one of your cards so I can see! Thanks to LeAnne for the inspiration and to you for stopping by. Have an awesome Friday!!

Fab Friday 15

A very happy Friday to you all! I do love me some Friday! Anything exciting going on this weekend? Will you be spending some time with you families on Easter? I’ll be going over to see my parents for dinner and probably see the child. Easter is so much more fun when you are a kid. Remember Easter egg hunts, Easter baskets and getting dressed up? I miss the Easter baskets the most, I do love some chocolate!

Every other Friday means that it’s time for Fab Friday! You guys had some great entries for our last challenge I can’t wait to see what you do with this one! This time around we have a sketch challenge for you…

Fab Fri 15 3-29-2013

Mt card begins with a base of Sahara Sand Card Stock. I used the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White for the background. The main panel is stamped with images from the By the Tide Stamp Set and backed with a piece of Midnight Muse. The background is stamped in Sahara Sand. I stamped the fish in Crumb Cake and used an eyeshadow applicator (bought especially for this purpose, LOL!) to color him in with Midnight Muse. He is fussy cut and some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere him to the card. A piece of Sahara Sand that is punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch is adhered along the bottom and the whole panel is mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of paper from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack is flagged on the left. On top of that is a piece of adhesive cork shelf liner. The greeting is from the From My Heart Stamp Set and is stamped in Midnight Muse. For a little sparkly bubbles I adhered some silver sequins that I had stashed away in an old craft bin. This will make quite a cool masculine birthday card for someone in the near future. I love the cork and the sequins, they are a nice way to mix it up! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch challenge. Fab Friday 14 & News!

Happy Friday everyone! I’m extra happy today because you know that mental health day I have talking about for so long, well… I finally took it! I’m off from work today! I’m going to catch up on some things around the house (it looks like about 20 people live here at the moment!), get some crafty time in and take a nap so I can do the 3:30am ride to the airport! I’ll be going to Manhattan straight from the airport to take a nap at my friends house!

Before I get to today’s post you may be wondering why my Fab Friday is actually on Friday this week. Well, the wonderful Mindy Backes, the creator of Fab Friday, has asked me to join the Design Team! How cool is that?!?! I have played along in every challenge since they started the blog last year. What an honor to be on the team with all of the other talented artists over there. Ok, enough gushing now on to the challenge. We have a nice color combo for you…

I have had the Button, Button Stamp Set for a while and haven’t really used it much. I thought this would be a neat way to break it in. The base of my card is Pink Pirouette Card Stock. The background is made with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used the Ovals Collection Framelits to cut out a piece of Sahara Sand and cut it in half. A quick run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and it kind of looks like a table. I stamped  the jar image from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set in Lucky Limeade on Vellum Card Stock. The Cannery Framelits Dies cut out the stamped image and a blank one to go behind it. The buttons are from the Button, Button Stamp Set and are stamped in Pink Pirouette and Calypso Coral, punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch and the 1/2″ Circle Punch, the ones in the jar are adhered with SNAIL and the ones on the outside are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then used some vellum adhesive to adhere the stamped jar to the blank one and some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold that to the card too. The greeting is from the Made for You Stamp Set and is stamped in Calypso Coral. I used the Scallop Oval Punch to punch it out and backed it with a piece of Calypso Coral that I punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. Still more Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. I love the way the jar stamped on Vellum looks, especially filled with the little buttons. I hope that you enjoyed my first Deign Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge. Make sure that you go and visit the blog to see what all of my fellow designers have for you and make a card of yours to enter. Thank you so very much for checking in with me, I hope that you all have a great Friday! 🙂

Work was somewhat torturous as it usually is but it’s to be expected. I hope that you all had a good week and have some fun planned for the weekend. Every other Saturday I have a Fab Friday card for you and today is no exception. This time around we have a sketch…

Fab Friday Sketch 13

I really wanted to do a butterfly but as you can see from the sketch that was too obvious! I went with a favorite single stamp of mine instead. The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I used apiece of paper from the World Spectacular Designer Series Paper Pack for the flagged piece in the middle. Next up I cut out a piece of Calypso Coral with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies, cut it in half, and did a little piercing with the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The image is from the World’s Greatest Stamp and is stamped in Island Indigo on Whisper White. I cut out the image with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies and did some piercing along the top and bottom. Some Basic Jewels Rhinestones give it a little sparkle and Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. The friend is form the Family Reunion Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo right on the DSP. World’s Greatest… Friend! I hope that you enjoyed my Fab Friday challenge card. Thanks for visiting, you guys are awesome! Have a great day!

Fab Friday 12

Ahh… Monday back to rear your ugly head once again I see. It really is funny how the weekend just flies by but the work week seems to move along at a glacial pace isn’t it?! I had a nice weekend and hope that you did too. I had my daughter Taylor and my friend Heather over for dinner last night. I made some Penne Rosa, pinned from Pinterest, and watched the Adjustment Bureau. A nice relaxing evening indeed! How was your weekend? It’s a blustery 15 degrees here this morning, now that’s chilly!

Today I have my Fab Friday card for their color challenge. They have supplied us with these colors to work with…

Fab Friday Color 12

An interesting color combination and I have to admit that I had a little trouble with it at first. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock and the background is a piece of Baja Breeze that I stamped with the Netting Background Stamp. The three stamps are from the Postage Due Stamp Set and are stamped in Wild Wasabi and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch. I used the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies to cut out three pieces of Perfect Plum. Before I adhered them to the back of the stamps I used the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce the chevrons in them. The greeting is from the Oh, Hello! Stamp Set. I markered each one of the letters and stamped them individually. The tiny postage stamp punch from the Lovely Little Labels Punch Pack is used to punch them out. I got the idea from the Spring Catalog. All of the elements are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the way the thank you looks all punched out and the Netting Background goes really well with the stamps. I hope that you enjoyed my Fab Friday card and thanks for visiting with me today. I hope you all have a bearable Monday!

Fab Friday Sketch 11

Hey there! It’s Saturday and I’m off to Manhattan this morning. I think I’m driving in so there will be no reading on the train today. It is bitterly cold here and quite windy. I went to dinner with Danielle, Anthony and Bill last night to Applebee’s. They have a Southwest Chopped Chicken Salad that is quite good. How are all of you doing today?

Before we get to today’s card did you see the cool little promotion that Stampin’ Up! has from now until April 30th? I have been wanting an airplane stamp for a while and wouldn’t you know it there is one in the new set! I really like the Designer Series Paper in it too. You can get a bundle of the Sent With Love Clear Mount Stamp Set, Sent with Love Designer Series Paper and a package of Calypso Coral Bakers Twine for only $25.50. That 20% off the price if you buy them separately. You can click on the flyer below to download a PDF to take a closer look.

Now on to the post! Today’s card is for the Fab Friday Challenge. This time we have a sketch…

Fab Friday Sketch 11

It was funny that when I saw it I thought that I would use one of these little paper bags that I picked up from the craft store. The base of my card is Daffodil Delight Card Stock. Down the middle is a piece of Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper. On top of that is the little paper bag that I stamped with the Sunshine Clear Mount Single Stamp in Tangerine Tango. The sun over the “o” is a piece of Tangerine Tango that I punched out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. I put it back in and punched it again to get the “pinked” edge. In the middle is a piece of Daffodil Delight that I punched out with the 1/2″ Circle Punch. For the banner across the bottom I flagged the ends of a piece of Tangerine Tango and stamped an image from the Madison Avenue Stamp Set in Tangerine Tango. The best part is that you can put a gift card or a little note inside the paper bag! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday Sketch challenge. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day! 🙂
