Simple Christmas Tree

Hello there and happy Sunday. For today’s card I used the Christmas Lodge Clear Mount Set. I love the vintage elegant feel of the set. The tree and lodge are absolutely beautiful, the images so crisp. I wanted to make a nice simple Christmas card and this is what I came up with. I used some Cherry Cobbler Smooth Card Stock for the base and backed the stamped image with some Garden Green. The Merry Christmas is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and backed by some more Cherry Cobbler card stock to make the greeting pop. It’s a very simple holiday card made with a beautiful set and I hope that you like it. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Stitched Stockings Jingle Bells

To continue on with my Christmas Cards I made a note card size card with the Stitched Stockings stamp and the Stocking Builder punch. I used the Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and some Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green card stock with the stamping done on Whisper White. I was going to glue the Jingle Bells on and then I decided to use some linen thread to hang them from the stocking instead. The Christmas Greetings stamp provides the greeting. I am loving the holidays this year, probably because I started making my Christmas cards last month and it really has had some time to sink in! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day! 🙂

PPA 119

This weeks Pals Paper Arts Challenge is to make a Christmas Card. I have made quite a few over the past couple of weeks. For inspiration you get to use this image of a woman in front of a tree on the site. It has greens, reds and golds as the primary colors. The card I came up with uses my old standby stamp set Pines & Poinsettias (Etoile de Noel). I love the markered image, it makes for such a nice holiday card. I used the Perfect Polkadots Embossing Folder for a little depth and popped up the Ticket Corner punched image with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. Teeny Tiny Wishes is a must have stamp set as it pretty much covers any sentiment that you may need. Some Frostwood Lodge Designer Series Paper and little bit of ribbon across the center of the card gives it a nice finishing touch. It’s a nice easy and quick card to make. I hope that you got some inspiration and enjoy your day!

PPA117 – CAS Element of Style – Ribbon

This weeks Pals Paper Arts Challenge is to use some ribbon. I’m not a huge fan of ribbon. I have some but I only usually use it as an accent border. I do however really like 3D projects! I recently came across a new web site, Inking Idaho (http://www.inkingidaho.blogspot.com/). Becky has some great 3D projects and she offers up the Twelve Days of Christmas for you to download for $12.95. It features 12 great projects and instructions on how to make all of them. I made the candy bar gift card holder in Old Olive and used some Letters to Santa Designer Series Paper. I made a few modifications to the top but for the most part it’s exactly as Becky made hers. A piece of Whisper White 5/8 inch Satin Ribbon wrapped around the holder completes the project. Thanks for stopping by and have a great night!

For this weeks Pals Paper Arts the challenge is a sketch. It’s three squares with a band. I decided to do a traditional Christmas card, colors that is. The card itself is 4.25 x 4.25 square. I used some Garden Green Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla Smooth Card Stock. I ran the Very Vanilla through the Big Shot with the new Snow Burst Embossing Folder. The Stitched Stockings Clear Mount Set and the Stocking Builder Punch are a great addition to anyones Holiday craft arsenal. I love the Merry Christmas from the Christmas Greeting Wood Mount Set. I think I will be making some more of these! Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Plaid Christmas

I have been playing withStampin’ Up!’s My Digital Studio for a few days now and I am really liking it. I like the idea of having Designer Series Paper ready to print at a moments notice. The colors are very close to the original, not perfect but close. I wanted to do another non-traditional Christmas card using some Marina Mist. I always love to use my Owl Builder Punch so I threw him in there too. I love the colors and can’t wait to play around a little more. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Izzy’s First Birthday!

One of my closest friends, Kim, asked me if I would make the invitations for her daughter’s first birthday party. I of course was more than happy to do it. She came to a Workshop that I had with my friend Melissa and ordered the items that she wanted me to use. Being that Izzy’s birthday falls near October 31st she decided to go with a Halloween theme. She said that it will probably get tired after a few years but I think it would be so cool that if every year for your birthday everyone got dressed up, don’t you?! So here is the card I came up with. I think it’s very Halloween without being super creepy. I love the spider, he has spiked hair! He is on a window that when you lift it up it say “eeek!” underneath. The card ingredients are below. Thanks for looking and have a spooky fun day!

A “Blue” Christmas

So, I am not a huge fan of all red and green for Christmas as I think I have mentioned before. I like lots whites and blues with some traditional colors thrown in. Dark blue has to be my all time favorite color next to brown. It is a very bold and vibrant color and was the inspiration for this card.

As I was browsing through the Holiday Mini Catalog a few weeks ago I came across the Peekaboo Frames Bigz L Die. What an different and versatile die it is. You can make all different size window frames in 5 different shapes. They are great for stamping and image on the front and a little message inside. I used the Stampin’ Up! Merry Winter Clear set for the cute little snowman on the front of the top note window and the phrase on the inside inked in Night of Navy Classic Stampin’ Ink. I also brushed the window agains the stamp pad to give it a little separation from the Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I like the little swirls too, they make it look a like a little wind swept snow is blowing around. The Merry Christmas is from the Delightful Dozen Clear Mount Stamp set. I love the card and hope you do too!

Mojo 209

For this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch challenge I wanted to do a non-traditional Christmas Card. I love the browns & blues together, for some reason they remind me of the holiday season. I used some Early Espresso Card Stock for the card. The Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder has such a nice depth to it and looks great on Very Vanilla Card Stock. I love shade of the Marina Mist Card Stock and I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch on the one edge. The snow man is from the Merry Winter Clear Mount set and the Merry Christmas is from the incredibly versatile Teeny Tiny Wishes Wood Mount set. The card has a nice frosty feel to it, I’m very happy with the way it came out. Thanks for taking a look!
