Golden Christmas Skyline

It was a windy day in Manhattan yesterday but still a very nice day! The sun was out and it wasn’t too cold. I took the train in and then the subway up to see my friends Mary and Jon again. After that I took the subway down to The Ink Pad and spent a little time with Anna. From there it was back to Penn Station to take the train back out to the Island. I came home and called my friend Maureen to see if she wanted to take a ride with me to get a pair of boots. We stopped at the shoe store and Wal-Mart before getting some pizza. The pizza place is right next to A.C. Moore so I had to stop in there and I ran into my friend Melissa and her two children. We chatted for a bit and got caught up. While browsing through the rest of the store I spotted the Heidi Swapp Minc Mini Machine and it was only $39.99, well I could;t pass up that bargain! LOL! After I got home I sat down and started playing with it and that’s what inspired my card for today!

The card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop Die to cut out a piece of Black 110lb and adhered it to the card with Tombo Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. Across the bottom is a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the greeting from the “Vintage” Hand Penned Holidays Stamp Set heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and that is adhered to the card with SNAIL. The skyline is cut from a piece of Solar White 80lb that I covered with toner from my laser printer by printing a black page. I then used the Mama Elephant Cityscape Creative Cuts to cut out that toner covered paper and then ran it through the Minc Mini with a piece of iCraft Gold Deco Foil. Some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins scattered around the greeting and it’s finished! I LOVE that skyline covered in the gold foil! It looks amazing in person, so shiny! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today and I thank you for spending a little of your Sunday with me! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! 🙂

Fab Friday 76

Is it Friday already?! That week just flew by! I got my tires put on my car yesterday and spent an hour or so with Daniel in the car. He likes to push button, every button! Last night I ran up to see Renee quickly and then stopped at BestBuy to get ink for the printer. This morning I’m off to Manhattan to hang with Barbara at The Ink Pad for the day. It keeps me out of trouble, well, sort of! LOL! This Sunday I’ll be at the Society of Scribes Holiday Fair at The Brotherhood Synagogue with Anna helping out with the booth and demoing the Brother Scan-n-Cut. Stop by and say hello if you are in the area!

It’s time once again for another Fab Friday Challenge and we have a sketch for you…

Fab Fri 76 10-30-2015

My card today uses a new stamp set from Mama Elephant. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Range Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue Ink to create the background. It’s cut out with the Mama Elephant Sew Fancy Creative Cuts Dies and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A piece of EK Success Wood Sheet is cut out with another one of the dies and placed on top of a piece of Cork Sheet with the ends flagged. The images and greeting are from the Mama Elephant Blogging Buddies Photopolymer Stamp Set and are all stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I used the coordinating Blogging Buddies Creative Cuts Dies to cut them out and they are adhered to the wood circle with Foam Tape and SNAIL. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Summer Mix Sequins finish off the card. I love that little iMac like computer, it reminds me of the one that I look at everyday! I hope that you liked my Design Team card for this week’s Fab Friday sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the team’s projects and make one to enter in the gallery! Thank you for your visit today! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 208

I had a nice Wednesday, how about you? I worked on some projects in the morning and then went out to make an appointment to get an eye exam and some new contacts on Friday. I had to go over to Scrap-A Latte to cut for class and on my way over I stopped by Heather’s to catch up with her for a bit. I did manage to get most of the cutting done and I stayed in the store while Renee went and got her hair done. Angie stopped by and we had a nice long chat and not soon after she left it was time to lock up and head over to Hicksville to meet Danielle at SmashBurger for dinner. After we ate we stopped by the mall so that Danielle could get a few more things for her Halloween costume. She is going to be Wonder Woman and let me tell you Linda Carter would be jealous! LOL! Today I’m off to Manhattan to spend a little time at The Ink Pad with Barbara and Anna. From there I’m back out to the Island for tonight’s card class. Taylor is supposed to get me from the Babylon train station and then hang with me at class and drive me home. We’ll see how that goes!

I had picked up a few sets at the Mama Elephant event on Sunday and decided to use the Charmed set for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 208

My card base today is a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a thin strip of Neenah Desert Storm down the left side. All of the elements and greeting are from the Mama Elephant Charmed Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used my Copics to color them in and they are all adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina and Sparkling Clear Sequins scattered about complete the card. I love the simplicity and bright but not overpowering colors! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thank you very much for paying me a visit today! Have an interesting Thursday! 🙂

NYC Twinkle Ornament

Ahh… Sunday. I slept in a little this morning, I’m not a fan of it but you need it ever so often! Yesterday was a very fun day indeed! Sandy and I headed into Manhattan around 10:00, there was some traffic so it took us about an hour and a half to get in. I did manage to squeeze into a parking space just down the block from The Ink Pad and we stopped there first so Sandy could meet Barbara and Jane and do a little shopping. Barbara recommended that we go to Elephant and Castle (which happens to be a stop on the London Underground!) for lunch. We had a delicious brunch and it was a nice, typically tiny NYC restaurant. From there we headed over to the Mama Elephant 3rd Birthday and Holiday Release Party. I got to meet and chat with all of the nice people from Mama Elephant and they were awesome. Simon Says Stamp had sent a few people too and I got spend some time speaking to the lovely Kathy from The Daily Marker.

Me & Kathy Mama NYC

She showed me some fun new techniques and mentioned that she has been seeing Michael’s projects for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge on Instagram. Mama Elephant also had lots of stamp sets and dies for sale including some of their new Holiday release so I picked up a few things! They had raffles and The Ink Pad had given them a Gift Certificate so they were nice enough to let me pick the number and give it to the winner! After the event was over Sandy and I headed over to The High-Line and then took a walk through Chelsea Market before setting off for the car and heading home. What a nice way to spend a Saturday!

My card for today features one of the new stamp and die sets from the release and I LOVE it! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Black. My background is a piece of Neenah Desert Storm. I stamped the branch from the Mama Elephant Twinkle Towns Photopolymer Stamp Set in Mossy Meadow for the needles and Soft Suede for the branch. The branch is filled in with a Copic. My ornament and NYC skyline is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Solar White 80lb and cut out with the coordinating die. I colored it in with Copics and then stamped the string and bow in Encore Silver Metallic before adhering the ornament to the card with Foam Tape. The greeting is from the same die set and is cut out from some Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black. I adhered them to each other a little offset and then to the card with 2-Way Glue. To give the illusion of lights I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Silver and Red Sequins in the branch. I LOVE that little NYC scene in the ornament, how perfect for the day yesterday! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today and I thank you so much for stopping by! Have a sensational Sunday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 15 – Colors!

First day back to work not too bad, I did have over 1000 emails that I finally got though around 3:30. I met with some people to catch up on what happened while I was away. Just another typical day. My friend Louis stopped by in the evening and we went out and got some frozen yogurt. I got peach and it was delicious! Not a bad day but not an I’m on vacation day either! LOL!

Now on to toady’s post, it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have some colors from Andrea…

SIP Color Challenge 15

I pulled out some Mama Elephant goodies to make this one. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. A strip of Basic Black that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folder goes down the right side. My flowers are from the Mama Elephant Freestyle Florals Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Daffodil Delight on Daffodil Delight, cut out with the coordinating dies and adhered to the card with SNAIL. Mojo Monday 416

And my vacation is officially over and we shall resume our normal week of wishing it was Friday! LOL! I’m back to work today and not looking forward to my email at all. It will be good to see my work peeps but I honestly I haven’t missed it! I had a more productive day yesterday, no where near back to normal but better. I dropped off my cards for class yesterday and will post them here on Saturday. There are 26 in this month’s class between Thursday and Friday! Oh wait, that’s a lot of cutting! LOL! I would say that it will be good to get back into the day to day but I would be lying! I did get to speak to Michael for bit last night, told him all about vacation and got caught up, that was nice! Here’s to hoping today goes fast and smooth!

Monday and it’s time for another fabulous sketch over at Mojo Monday

Mojo416

This was one of those that as soon as I saw it I knew exactly what I wanted to do! A nice change from the past few days! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Basic Black. The background is a piece of Very Vanilla with a strip of Gold Foil Sheet along the bottom. The two “rings” are also Gold Foil Sheet cut out with the Circles Framelits and adhered with 2-Way Glue. I used them again to cut out a piece of Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper. My congratulations is cut out from a piece of Basic Black with the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Circle Die and adhered to the DSP with more 2-Way Glue. I then adhered some Fun Foam with SNAIL to the back to hold the circle to the card. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Basic Black that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Apothecary Labels and it’s adhered with some Foam Tape. Simple but elegant, don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! SIP Challenge 11 – Tic-Tac-Toe

Only three more days of work to go! I can do this! LOL! You know when you have so much happening at one time you just want to slow everything down, that’s where I am right now. I’m looking forward to my trip but not looking forward to seeing my friend leave. The emotions of both are pulling in different directions! I would like to put this Summer on repeat for a while, do you know what I mean? But nothing in life is constant except for change, right? Anyway enough about that! Little Daniel was at my parent’s when I got home and we played with his trucks for a bit before dinner. After, I came home and made a few cards and then just pondered life for a bit. You need to do that every once in a while!

It’s Tuesday and that means that we are ready for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

SIP Any Tic Tac Toe 11

This Tic-Tac-Toe board is a collaboration of Michael and I. Eventually we will get him to participate in the actual challenge! I went across the middle, Twine, Die Cut and Sequins. I have been enjoying the neutrals with the nice pops of color lately so I went that route again! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp in Simon Says Stamp Smoke Ink on some Solar White 80lb and adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My frame and bubble for the sentiment are from the Mama Elephant Polaroid Fun Creative Cuts. The frame is cut from more Solar White 80lb and adhered to the card with Foam Tape, I tied some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine around the frame before adhering it. For the flower I used my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Simon Says Stamp Hot Mama and Lucky Ink to color another piece of Solar White 80lb. The die is from Elizabeth Crafts and is called Lotus Flower. It cuts the backing and the open flower, they are adhered sparingly together with 2-Way Glue and then to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Stephanie Ackerman Tags & Words Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Basic Black and also adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet and Purple Michaels Sequins add some sparkle and complete the card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Now go on over to the SIP Challenge Blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards! Pals Paper Arts 264

A good afternoon to you! I had another lazy morning, I’m starting to like them too much! LOL! Just hanging around talking and watching YouTube videos with Michael. Yesterday after work I came home and made my card for today. Michael got to me a little later than planned so we decided to go out and get salads from La Bottega and watch a movie. We watched The Holiday with Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law and Jack Black, it’s one of my favorite movies and Michael had never seen it. He liked it too! Today we are going to go to street fair in Westbury and then who knows. I hope that your weekend is off to a good start!

The card that I made is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

PPA 264

This was another one that I put together in my little brain while I was at work! That card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Bermuda Bay with a piece of Vellum over the top that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Feathers Embossing Folder. Three strips of The Paper Cuts Blueprint Curious Metallic Card Stock are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I stamped the three feathers from the Mama Elephant Fair Feathers Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Pool to Navy Ombre Ink and then cut them out with the matching Mama Elephant Fair Feathers Creative Cuts Die. The feathers are also adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Mama Elephant Heartfelt Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in The Pool to Navy Ink. I used the matching Mama Elephant Heartfelt Greetings Creative Cuts Dies to cut the greeting out and then cut out three more from white adhering them on top of one another for a little dimension. Finally, a few Pretty Pink Posh Seattle Mix Sequins are adhered to the feathers. I love the Heartfelt Wishes Set, it’s so nice to have all of the different languages to say thank you! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! Thanks so much for visiting today and enjoy what’s left of your Saturday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 411

Hi there and welcome to the start of another week! I had another super weekend! Yesterday was fun at The Ink Pad with Michael as always and met up with Kim for dinner before heading home. We went to China Fun for dinner and while it was good I don’t think that I will go there again, stomach issues! LOL! The ride home was not too bad and we stopped by Sue’s before heading back to my place. I dropped Michael off at Scrap-A-Latte this morning, he’ll be there all day working and giving another one of his very popular baby book classes. Later on we are going to meet Andrew and his girlfriend for dinner, that should be fun!

Monday and it’s time for another Mojo Monday challenge…

Mojo411

I used some fun new stuff that I found at The Ink Pad yesterday to make today’s card. The card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The front is covered in a piece of Basic Black and the background is a piece of Real Red. Two strips of Basic Black go across the card on a diagonal and I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders to give them the neat cross-stitch look. Next up is a panel of Daffodil Delight that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The lantern is cut out from a piece of Real Red using the Marilyn Robertson Kimono Lanterns Die and adhered to the panel with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is from the Mama Elephant Heartfelt Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black and cut out with the matching Heartfelt Wishes Creative Cuts Dies. I adhered it to a piece of Vellum and the the Vellum to the card with more Multi-Matte Medium. Three birds from the Lanterns die set are cut out from Gold Glimmer Paper and adhered with Foam Tape. I love that lantern die, so cool and different! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Paper Players 257 & More Manhattan!

Well, the week is moving right along, it’s Wednesday already! It rained here most of the day yesterday, quite heavily in the morning but the sun did finally make an appearance later in the day! Little Daniel was at my mum’s so I got to spend some time with him, he actually says Uncle Justin now! We played with some Lego blocks for a little while and then had dinner. It’s his mum Erika’s Birthday today, a very Happy Birthday Sis! After dinner I made a card and then Michael stopped by for a bit before going to meet his brother. I ran to Target and that was pretty much the day. I do have a few more pictures from this past weekend’s Manhattan adventure with Michael. More really cool street art!

Little Italy Liberty

Now that’s a really cool Lady Liberty!

Little Italy Ga Ga

Just some mixed-media building art!

Little Italy Ship

Now that is just really cool!!!! I would like that in my house!

214 Lafayette St

This is on the door to 214 Lafayette Street. You can read more about it here!

Michael has done a few blog posts on our outing too and he has some really cool pictures of the Subway! Be sure and go over to his blog and take a look!

Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #257

For some reason when I saw this I thought Summer! My card base today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Soft Sky and across the bottom is some Old Olive that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Die. My kite is cut using the Simon Says Stamp Kite Shaker Die from a piece of Crumb Cake and a piece paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The sun is cut from Daffodil Delight using the Mama Elephant Stitched Sky Creative Cuts Dies and also adhered with Foam Tape. I used the Simon Says Stamp Painted Summer Die and some more Daffodil Delight for my greeting. I also cut out some Fun Foam and adhered it to the back of the die cut to pop it up. A generous dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on the sun and greeting with a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and the card is done! I love that kite especially with the DSP! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge and the rest of my Manhattan pics! Thank you for stopping by today and I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂
