PPA 128

Happy Superbowl Sunday to everyone! I hope everybody has some plans for the big game. I’m going over a friends house for some food and fun, oh and I think there is a football game on too! For this weeks Pals Paper Arts Challenge they ask you to use any red…

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching it’s the perfect color! Instead of a Valentine I choose to do a Birthday Card using Red Riding Hood, Whisper White and Basic Grey Card Stock. I used the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set and some Versamark to heat emboss one of the images with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I punched the image out with the Blossom Punch and another one in Basic Grey. I used a 3/16″ Metallic Brad in Silver to hold them together. Using the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch I punched out a piece of Riding Hood Red and mounted the flower on it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the top half of the background I used a Riding Hood Red Marker and my Color Spritzer tool and the bottom half is piece of Twitterpated Designer Series Paper. The greeting is from Happiest Birthday Wishes and is stamped in Basic Grey and mounted on a piece of Basic Grey Card Stock. A piece of Riding Hood Red Pleated Satin Ribbon finishes off the card. I hope that everyone enjoys the Superbowl and thank you for stopping by. 🙂

PPA 127 & Sneak Peek

Good morning everyone. It’s snowing here on Long Island this morning. I’m not a fan of snow! It’s perfect day to play with my Stampin’ Up! stuff though! For this weeks Pals Paper Arts Sketch I used some more new items from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog. Only four days left until Sale-A-Bration starts!

The base of the card is Very Vanilla. I used the Fresh Vintage Stamp Set from Sale-A-Bration (January 24th) stamped in Pool Party and then I punched it out with the Ornament Punch and cut a little bit off the bottom to make it look like a vase. I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake to give it a little more definition. I used the Texturz Plates for a subtle background paired with some of the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper also from Sale-A-Bration. The Little Leaves Sizzlits Die and the Boho Blossom Punch create a great bunch of flowers in Calypso Coral and Peach Parfait. Some Basic Jewels Pearls add a little elegance to the flower centers. I used Mary Fish’s tutorial from the other day (http://www.stampinpretty.com/2012/01/new-ppa-sketch-and-1-minute-to-wow-video.html) for the sentiment. She always has such great ideas. The edges are also sponged with some Crumb Cake. A little Scallop Trim Border Punched piece of Peach Parfait completes the card. Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Flower Fest In-Color Birthday

Good morning everyone. I hope that everyone had a nice Monday. For today’s card I used the Flower Fest Stamp Set and the 2010-2012 In-Colors. The base of the card is Very Vanilla. The images are also stamped on Very Vanilla using Concord Crush, Peach Parfait and Poppy Parade Ink. I like the way that the stamped images look a little like they were drawn using crayon. The Flower Fest Set coordinates with five different punches. I used three, the 2 3/8″ Scalloped Circle, Fancy Flower, and 5 Petal Flower Punches. For the background I used Pear Pizzaz Card Stock and the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The greeting is from the Happiest Birthday Wishes Set and Is stamped in Concord Crush and put on some Peach Parfait Card Stock. I needed a little color boost and this card provided the perfect outlet! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Aviary Birthday & Sneak Peek

Good morning all. I hope that everyone had a nice weekend. Mine was great! For today’s card I used another one of my favorite sets, Aviary. I love the little bird cages and assortment of birds. The set works so well on so many different cards. The cage was stamped in Chocolate Chip Ink and the little bird in Calypso Coral Ink. I used some Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip Card Stock. The Designer Series Paper is from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog (available January 24, 2012) and is called Everyday Enchantment. There are so many great products in the catalog, I can’t wait for everyone to see them. I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch and some 1/4 Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon to give it a little bit of an awning look. The greeting is from Happiest Birthday Wishes and is punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. It’s a nice quick birthday card and I hope that you like it. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Abby’s First Birthday

I love making invitations. When my friends Adam and Erin asked me if I would make the invitations for their little girl Abbygail’s first birthday I was thrilled to. They picked out the colors and told me it was a Bubble Guppies theme. The Card Stock colors I used are Pretty In Pink, Pacific Point and Whisper White. I used My Digital Studio to create the printed part of the invite and printed it in Pacific Point on HP Everyday Photo Paper. I have tried printing things out on Whisper White Card Stock and it comes out a little lighter than it should but the HP Paper seems to work a little better. The goldfish are from the Something Sweet Set and they are stamped in Pumpkin Pie. The “bubbles” are actually the sprinkles from the Create A Cupcake set, but they look pretty good as bubbles. The Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder give it a nice simple background. I mounted all of the framed pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little extra pop. I hope you like them as much as they did and thanks for stopping by!

PPA 124 & Sneak Peek

I love playing along with the Pals Paper Arts each week. There is nothing like a good sketch to get you inspired to make a card. I was a little sad when I realized that this week will be the last Christmas themed card for the year. The holidays are almost upon us and soon we’ll be in the new year. Time for new challenges and new products from Stampin’ Up! For this card I used some Marina Mist, Real Red, Early Espresso and Whisper White Smooth Card Stock. I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch on the “ribbon” across the middle and the rosette was actually made using and old Tim Holtz Sizzix Die and some Letters to Santa Designer Series Paper. The circles on the rosette are made using the 1/2″ and 3/4″ inch Circle Punches. I used one of my favorite new products from the Occasions Mini Catalog (available January 4, 2012), the new Framelits Label Collection Dies. The ornaments are from the Merry & Type Stamp Set and I sponged the edges with some Early Espresso Ink. The greeting is also from the same set and I used the Ticket Corner Punch for a little added detail. I hope that you like the card and that everyone has a happy holiday. Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo 214

This weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge Was perfect for a Christmas card. I used the Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the Holiday Mini Catalog for my background and placed a Perfect Polkadots Texture Impressions Embossing Folder circle on top of that. The Designer Series Paper, Letters to Santa, is so versatile. It’s especially good for making “masculine” cards. I love the ornaments and the colors. I used the Postage Stamp Punch to punch out one of the stamp images for the paper. The greeting is simple and looks great in Marina Mist. Thanks for taking a look and have a great weekend!

Overseas Cards

A good friend of mine, Chantal, recently went on a trip to Paris to see her family. She asked me if I would make a bunch of cards for her to take with her to give to them. I of course was thrilled. I love it when people like my cards, especially enough to take them international! So here are the cards that I made for her. Thanks to Chantal for being such a great friend and supporter! Thanks to you guys for taking a look and have a nice day!

Happy Birthday Sandy!

Today is my super talented, all around awesome fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and good friend Sandy’s birthday! She is a super nice person and a great teacher. I had to make an extra special birthday card for her. I like the tri-shutter cards because they are different and look cool when you open them and stand them up. I tried to match it a little to the dresser I made for her as an early present. I used the Stampin’ Up! Pretty Postage Clear Mount Set and the Postage Punch as well as the Retired Birthday Bliss Wood Mount Set punched out with the Large Tag Punch for the greetings. They were stamped in Marina Mist and Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Ink. I love the color combination. You can visit Sandy’s blog here:

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Frostwood Thanks Hybrid

I have been playing around with Stampin’ Up!s My Digital Studio a lot over the past few day. I like the instant delivery! I’m a big fan of instant gratification! I made this card using a Designer Series Paper from the Frostwood Lodge DSP Digital Download. I like the wood pattern, it definitely gives the card a lodge feel. I also used the Define Your Life Stamp Brush Set. I would rather have the stamps but they were retired a while ago. The butterflies and thanks are from the Kindness Matters Clear Mount Set. The card definitely had a masculine theme to it which seems to be a trend with me lately! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
