Paper Players 293

Another rainy day here as promised by the lovely weathermen! LOL! I was up early and took Heather to the Dr. for another shot in her spine. She is trying to avoid the surgery at all costs, I can’t say that I blame her. We were there for a while and when she was finished we drove over to Woodbury and had lunch at Chop’t! Yes, I found one out here on the Island! Now Heather understands why I like it so much! From there we stopped at Target, Walgreen’s and the Dry Cleaners before heading back to her house. One of the cats had tried to take apart the chandelier so I fixed that and then came home just in time for dinner with Mum and Dad! When I got back to my house I made my card for today and continued working on my little project. Soon people!

The Paper Players have an interesting challenge this week…

Paper Players #293

Now, I knew that I had a bicycle stamp somewhere I just had to find it which didn’t take quite as long as I had thought it would! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out the Mama Elephant Cityscape Creative Cuts from Black 110lb and adhered it to the card with Tombo Dot Runner Adhesive. Across the bottom for the street I adhered a piece of Basic Gray with some Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The bicycle and greeting are from the Papertrey Ink Pedal Pusher Photopolymer Stamp Set. I did all of my die cutting first, they are solid dies, and then stamped the Wheels and greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black, the bicycle in Tide Pool, Basket in Khaki and the puppy in Slate. Two brads attach the wheels to the bike frame and it’s adhered to the card with more Tombo Dot Runner and Foam Tape. I never get tired of that cityscape, it works for so many different things! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks for coming by today! Have a simple Thursday! 🙂

Sorry about the random post that got sent out last night from 2012! I can’t explain how that happened! I guess like Grace said the blog wanted to take a walk down memory lane! Hopefully that won’t happen again! I had a nice day yesterday with my friend Sue. We chatted and got some more stuff ready for Etsy. For lunch we went to the deli in East Meadow and had sandwiches and then we stopped in Marshall’s. I got a Chelsea Football Gym Sac, some new slippers and some Jelly Belly Jellybeans! When I got home I had dinner with my parent’s and then came to my house and crafted for a bit before working on the blog update again. Hopefully I will finish that today and have the new look ready to go by tomorrow!

My inspiration for my craftiness last night was this week’s Paper Players challenge. I wanted to thank Amy for making me her Headliner for the last challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to this week…

Paper Players #276

That’s a nice fun and simple challenge! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Kiss Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad. I used a bunch of different dies to create my greeting. The Happy is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Winter and Snow Craft Die and the birthday is from the Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words: Birthday Die. They are both cut out from a piece of American Crafts Black Glitter Paper that is adhered to a piece of Black 110lb with some Stick-It. The 21 is cut out from some Adhesive Cork Sheet that I adhered to a piece of Solar White 80lb and cut out with the Papertrey Ink By the Numbers Dies. My th is cut from some more of the cork using the Papertrey Ink Block Alphabet Dies. The panel is a piece of Watermelon Wonder that is cut out with the Papertrey Ink Spiral Notebook Die, it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I used Multi-Matte Medium to adhere all of the greeting. I like the nice pop of black along with the subtleness of the cork against the bright notebook page and fun background! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Theme challenge from Joanne! Thank you for taking some time to come by and see me! Have an interesting Thursday! 🙂

Winter Wonderland Ornaments & The Ink Pad Tags Class!

Sunday… the day of… rest?! Nah! I had a restful Saturday instead. I got my laundry done and did some crafty things, snuck in some TV. I love when I watch a movie and it makes you think, and not what you would expect to think about either. Anyway, today I’m off to Manhattan to hang out with Barbara at The Ink Pad. It’s going to be another chilly day, only in the 40’s! Where did those 60’s go?! They say they will back in a few days and I’m looking forward to their return! What’s on for you today?

My project that I have to share with you today is another ornament, this time a shaker! I cut some Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the Papertrey Ink Scene It: Basic Backer Die. The background is a piece of Black 110lb Card Stock cut with the Papertrey Ink Scene It: Skyscapes Dies. I adhered it to the backer with Multi-Matte Medium. Another piece of Solar White 110lb is cut out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits. I cut it in a little less than half and then stamped my greeting from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. My skyline is cut out of some Silver Glimmer Paper with the Mama Elephant Cityscape Creative Cuts and also adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I added some Martha Stewart Chunky Glitter and then adhered the ornament half to the backer with more Multi-Matte Medium. A piece of Hemptique Black & White Baker’s twine tied through the top give me something to hang it on my tree with! I really do love making these ornaments and the Scene It Dies make is super easy! I hope that you enjoyed my ornament, they are fun to make and I hope that you will try one!

Butterfly Postage Wishes & BA

Good day everyone! I’m back in NY, missing my cousins already. We went our for a breakfast yesterday before heading to Heathrow. It started to pour once we got to the airport. Tracey and Jules waited with us for  a long while, we even sat and had a Costa Coffee before we said our goodbyes. The flight home on British Airways was really nice! We sat in Club World with the nice big seats that turn into a flat bed! Lunch was delicious and so was the snack before landing. My friend Betty met us at the plane and walked with us through to baggage claim and we were out in 15 minutes! Heather and Stephanie picked us up and Heather and I had our movie moment! LOL! I unpacked last night and went to be early so that I can try and reset my clock. Today I have some cleaning to do and then finally sit down and make a card, the first time in over two weeks! That has been the longest for me in over 4 years! Wish me luck! Here are some pictures from the plane yesterday…

BA Club World Seats

Our nice big comfy seats, and yes, you sit facing the back of the plane!

BA Club World TV

A view from the seat just as we were flying out into the Atlantic.

Now on to today’s card which I actually made before I left. The card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the “Vintage” Dictionary Background Stamp in Smoky Slate on a piece of Solar White 80lb. Down the left side is one of the stamps from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped in Real Red and up in the right corner is a stamp from the “Vintage” Office Ephemera Stamp Set stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. Two of the stamps from the same set are stamped in Pacific Point and cut out with my Paper Snips. The butterfly is also from the Butterfly Basics Set and is stamped in Pacific Point, Real Red and Memento Tuxedo Black and then cut out with the Bold Butterfly Framelits. I adhered the background to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL, the stamps are adhered with SNAIL and the butterfly and greeting are adhered with Foam Tape. For the greeting I cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb with the Papertrey Ink Just the Ticket Border Die and stamped it from the Butterfly Basics Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. I resisted the urge to add some sequins, LOL! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thanks for sticking with me through these last two weeks and I wish you all a terrific Thursday! 🙂

Paper Players 251

Another nice day here on Long Island! A little overcast and on the hot side, but there was a nice breeze too. I dropped the Saab off to get inspected in the morning and my friend Robin came with me at lunch to go and pick it up. We stopped at Monty’s for lunch and had some pizza, delicious as always. After dinner I went over to Scrap-A-Latte to pick up some stuff for Michael and choose the papers from this month’s cards. I came home and made my card for today and then went over to see Michael at Sue’s to drop off the papers that I picked up and have a little computer tutorial. Another good day! I’m on a roll lately! LOL! I wanted to mention that Michael and I will be at The Ink Pad in Manhattan on Saturday from 11:00am to 5:00pm. If you are in the area please stop by and say hello!

That card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge…

Paper Players #251

I saw the sketch and put the card together in my head! Yes, I used the map Washi again, are you sick of it yet?! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I flicked some Heidi Swapp White Color Shine on a piece of Lost Lagoon and adhered it to the card for the background. I stamped the sun from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set in So Saffron on some white and cut it out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. The circle is then adhered to some Fun Foam and Papertrey Ink Jute Twine is behind it. The banner and the car are from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped the banner in Real Red and the car in Memento Tuxedo Black and used some of Dies By Dave’s new dies to cut them out. They are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My favorite Washi Tape is then adhered to some Neenah Solar White 80lb. The map is adhered to the circle with SNAIL and the road to that with more Foam Tape. I really do like that Guy Greetings Set don’t I and now with dies I like it even more! The washi tape, well we know that I love that! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thanks you for taking a little time out of your day to come by and visit with me! Have a great Thursday! 🙂

Can You Case It #73

So, I’m later that late this morning and I will show you a picture of what that is, no judging! LOL! It was an odd day here yesterday. I woke up to rain and that lasted until around noon. The sun then came out but it was pretty far from 80 degrees which is what they had promised. I did make the most of the day, I had lots of crafty time and I spent time doing something that has needed to be done… cleaning! Sandy stopped by for a little bit, love her visits! Then I got a text from my friend Marissa asking if Anthony, Bill and I wanted to go out. Sure… why not? We went to Houlihan’s and I had a drink, well it was more like three drinks in one and that was a poor decision! We left there and went to Croxley’s and I had a Whiskey Sour and we danced and all was good. There was a stop at Taco Bell on the way home, that’s never a good decision. I’m sure that you can imagine how my morning was and we’ll leave it at that! Here are Marissa and I, who just got a really nice haircut and then there is the drink.

Marissa and I Croxley's

Huge Drink

The picture doesn’t do the drink justice, I should have had something next to it for scale! Never again! LOL!

Now on to the fun stuff, my card for this week’s Can You Case It color challenge…

CYCI #73

The colors were actually my choice! The card base for today is old reliable Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. A piece of Sahara Sand is spattered with some Heidi Swapp Gold and Tinsel Color Shine and two strips of Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape go across the middle before I adhered it to the base. I used the Papertrey Ink Monthly Moments – Slide Frame Die to cut out a piece of Gold Foil Sheet and adhered that to the card. My flowers and leaves are cut from Basic Black and Blushing Bride using the Ellen Hutson Bold Blooms Stand Alone Dies. The leaves are adhered with SNAIL and the flowers with little pieces of Foam Tape. Another piece of Blushing Bride is cut out with the Ellen Hutson Love Die and adhered to the card with Ranger Multi-Medium. The three hearts are more Gold Foil Sheet cut out with the Ellen Hutson Home and Hearth Dies and they too are adhered with Foam Tape. Finally some Hazel & Ruby The Makery Think Pink Sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects and complete the card. I love the Ellen Hutson Dies and the Color Shine Sprays! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Can You Case It color challenge! Thanks for stopping by, sorry I was late! Have yourselves a Good Sunday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 147

We are supposed to get a break from the rain today, they say some sun in the afternoon but then right back to the rain for Thursday and Friday. As long as it’s nice at the weekend! Today was dreary but you make the most of it right?! Work was a little busy but I still managed to get a bunch of things done. Dinner tonight was bacon cheeseburgers and beer battered french fries! YUM! After I came home and Skyped with Andrea and made a card using some new goodies that I recently acquired! I like when I can just sit down and play for a little while! Taylor came by and we ran to Target to get some soy milk and eggs, I also picked up some Twizzlers because, well, they make mouths happy! LOL! How is your week going?

Before I get to my card for today I wanted to share some cards that a friend of mine sent to me along with some goodies including some brochures on London! Her name is Nicole Watt, better known as the Pixel Maven! She is a very talented card maker and a whiz with computers! In my package was a cool little surprise. We lost the Color Coach in this year’s Catalog, not to worry, Nicole has an ingenious solution for us! She came up with her own color chart! You can see it by clicking here and heading over to her blog. She has it available as a download or you can purchase one of the handy cards! Speaking of cards, here are the two that she sent me…

NW Card JK

This one actually uses the placemat from the restaurant that we had lunch in while I was in Florida for Leadership in January!

NW Watercolor Card

And this one is just gorgeous! I love the watercoloring!! Thank you Nicole!!

Today it’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for our sketch challenge for this week…

PCCCS147 DY Sketch 6-03-2015

I used a bunch of different goodies on my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of the Sale-A-Bration Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper. My panel is a piece of Bermuda Bay with some Vellum adhered behind the embellishments on top of it. The panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My three feathers are cut from Pool Party with the Feathers Framelits, I spattered them with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Teal and Gold. They are adhered to the panel with Foam Tape. The stamped greeting is from one of the Paper Pumpkin Kits and is heat embossed in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Coastal Cabana and adhered with more Foam Tape. The die cut greeting is cut from Gold Foil Sheet with the Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words Birthday Die and adhered with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. A scattering of Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins finishes the card. I love the blues and all of the different texture on the card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the design teams projects! I also hope that you enjoyed the cards from Nicole and that you check out her blog too! Thank you so much for sharing in my day! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂
