Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Case a Designer!

Hello again! I’m back for my second post for today! We have a new challenge over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog for the month of March! This time we ask you to CASE a Designer!

Just choose one of the Design Team’s cards as your inspiration and go from there! I love Lindsey’s simple Lovely Cards! You can see the original post HERE. I thought the way that she used the Hello Lovely stamp to create a subtle background was so clever! First I used the Concord & 9th Butterfly Beauty Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Coordinating Butterfly Card Dies to cut out the wings, overlay and body for the butterfly. I positioned the wings in the MISTI and stamped the outline in Black Licorice and the fill-in in Juice Box. To hold them together I adhered a piece of Black behind the wings, adhered the Vellum die cut wings on top and then the body. For my card base I used Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I placed the folded card into my MISTI and positioned the flower cluster from the Concord & 9th Hello Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set where I wanted it, inked it up with some Lawn Fawn Ballet Slippers Ink and stamped. While the card was in the MISTI I also stamped the greeting from the Butterfly Beauty Set in Black Licorice in the lower right corner. The butterfly is adhered to the card with a 3D Foam Square. I stamped two more of the small butterflies in Ballet Slippers and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Ballerina Pink and Orchid Sequins to finish the card. I love that butterfly and the subtle stamped background, thanks for the inspiration Lindsey! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th CASE a Designer Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Design Team has done to inspire you and we would love for you to share your card with us in the gallery! You have the whole month to play along! Thanks for stopping by again today! I hope that you enjoy the rest of your Thursday! 🙂

Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Love!

Hello again! I’m back for my second post of the day! This time it’s for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge! February is pretty much the month of love right?! So let’s all make some love themed cards!

I started out making one card but didn’t waste to wast the leftover pieces so I made two! To begin I used the Concord & 9th Heartstrings Dies to cut out a piece of Gold Glitter Card Stock and a piece of Tropical Sea. I then created my card bases out of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To stamp the heart I used the Concord & 9th Heart Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set, some Lawn Fawn Peacock Ink and my Mini MISTI so I would be able to stamp it multiple times to get a nice crisp impression. The arrow is added with Lawn Fawn Black Licorice along with the Love Greeting. I also stamped the little love heart in more Peacock on Solar White 80lb and heat embossed it in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto another piece of Tropical Teal. They are cut out with the little heart die from the Heartstrings Set. The gold outline heart is then adhered over the stamped one with 3D Foam Squares. For the second card I adhered the Teal die cut to a piece of Solar White 80lb that I cut out with just the outline of the Heartstrings Die. I then pieced all of the Gold Glitter Card Stock back in and adhered the heart to another card base stamped with one of the other greetings from the Set. They needed just a little more bling so I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sea Breeze and Gold Sequins! I love that Heartstrings Die, especially in the Gold with the Teal! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Love Theme Challenge! We hope to see you card in the gallery so stop by the BLOG and get some more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team! Thanks for coming by again today! Enjoy the rest of your Thursday! 🙂

Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Try Something New!

Hello again! I’m back for my second post of the day! This time it’s for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge! We have something fun to share with you for our new challenge! We are sharing the new release from Concord & 9th!

Each of the Design Team received some new goodies that are being released today! I had the pleasure of playing with the Best Banners Stamp and Dies! I made a really simple card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My heart is from the Concord & 9th Heart Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set and I stamped it in Hero Arts Passion Flower Ink three times using my Mini MISTI. Then I stamped the perfect from the Concord & 9th Best Banners Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. The die cut perfect banner is cut from a piece of Gold Glitter Card Stock using the Concord & 9th Best Banner Dies. I adhered it to the card slightly offset from the stamped perfect using Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The rest of the greeting is also from the Best Banners Photopolymer Stamp Set and again is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and the card is done! I love the new Best Banners Stamps and Dies, especially with the stamped word behind the die cut one! I hope that you like my Design Team card for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Try Something New Challenge! We hope to see your cards in the gallery so head on over to the BLOG for some more inspiration and to see more of the new release! Thanks for stopping by again! Enjoy the rest of your Monday! 🙂

Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Winter!

Hello again! I’m back for my second post of the day! This time it’s for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge! We have a nice simple theme for you… Winter!

challenge-4-winter

I used one of my favorite sets from Concord & 9th to make today’s card! My background is a piece of Coastal Cabana and all of the other sections are Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock. I cut out all of the pieces with the Concord & 9th Christmas Cottage Dies including my greeting with the included Happy Holidays die! To set my scene I heat embossed the house in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder and the trees and roof in WOW! Seaglass Embossing Glitter using the images from the Concord & 9th Christmas Cottage Photopolymer Stamp Set. All that was left to do is score the sides and adhered the pieces together using some Scor-Tape. I really like the blues, I think that they give the card a nice frosty look! I also think that it’s really clever the way that the card for flat and fits inside a standard envelope for mailing! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Winter Challenge! We hope that you will stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of fabulous Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by once again today! I wish you a fun rest of your Friday! 🙂

Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Watercolor!

wcmc9-header

This is my second post for today! When this post goes up I’ll be in Manhattan! I’m going to try and see some of my peeps before I head back home. I do love a day in the city as most of you know! The reason for two posts today you may be wondering? Well it’s time for the second challenge over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge Blog! This time we are featuring a technique which is one of my favorites… watercoloring! You have a whole month to play along! Winners will be picked on Monday, November 7th and announced on Tuesday November 8th!

Here is this month’s challenge badge…

challenge-2-watercolor

I have been dying to use the Holy Night Dies from last month’s release! I die cut all of the pieces for the main parts of the card from Arches 140lb Watercolor Card. Before I scored them I used my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors to create my scene. After the pieces had dried (I let them air dry to minimize warping) I scored them at the notches that die cuts add and then added Scor-Tape and adhered all of the pieces together. The star just had to be cut from Gold Mirror Card along with the noel. I also cut two noels from a piece of Solar White 110lb and adhered them together and to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card! I love that die set, it makes it so easy to make a dimensional pop-up card, and the best part is that it folds flat and fits in a standard envelope! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Watercolor Challenge! We hope that you will play along with us and if you need a little additional inspiration stop by the BLOG and see the amazing cards that the rest of the Design Team has created! Hope to see your card in the gallery! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! 🙂
