Thursday, another week flying by! It was overcast most of the day yesterday with the occasional peek of sun. I managed to get some projects finished and straightened up a bit more. I spoke to Andrea on FaceTime and also saw Taylor for a bit. Last night after dinner I was speaking on Facebook Messenger to a friend of mine, Gita. I haven’t seen her in a long time but she messaged me the other day to tell me that she was enjoying my pins on Pinterest and we chatted for a bit about crafty things. Today she messaged me to tell me that she had made a card for her parent to celebrate Diwali, the Indian celebration of lights. I asked her to send me pictures of any of her projects and I want to share her card with you today. I think it’s beautiful and it really evokes the feeling of the holiday!
I love the pattern that she choose, it reminds me of a Henna Tattoo and the gems sparkle just like the lights in Diwali. Thanks for sharing your lovely card with us Gita!
Now on to my card for today which is for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Before we get to it though I wanted to say a big thank you to Claire for choosing my card from last week as her Headliner! You can see the winners post here and my original post here! now on to this week…
I actually had two cards for this challenge but I can’t show the other one yet, it’s for my friend Isabella, it’s her Birthday today and I’m not sure if she received it yet! Happy Birthday Isabella! Isabella also shares a Birthday with my friend Christina, a very Happy Birthday to her too! My card for the challenge starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Frames dies to cut out a piece of Real Red and two pieces of BlackΒ 110lb. The red is adhered in the center with SNAIL and the frames are adhered to each other and the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My ornament is cut from a piece of Gold Foil Sheet using the Simon Says Stamp Merry Christmas Ornament Die and also adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I made several attempts to cut out the ornament and foil it as well as heat emboss it and I wasn’t happy with the results so I went back to the old standby instead and I’m happy with the way it turned out! I hope that you are too and that you enjoyed my simple Christmas card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for sharing in my friends work and visiting today! I wish you all a tantalizing Thursday! π
