Hmm… the first Monday of 2016 means back to work. Not a happy Monday at all! I did have another awesome weekend! Yesterday Kim and I had breakfast with Heather and then we went to Roosevelt Field mall. I helped them both pick out new comforters, if I can’t spend any money I do like to spend other peoples! LOL! I had seen a backpack, the one that I have been looking for and Heather bought it for me! Isn’t she the best! Later on in the afternoon Kim and I went to SmashBurger for lunch, delicious! I took Kim to the station at 4:00 so she could make her way back home. She needs to come out more often, we had a blast! When I got back to my house I crafted for a little while and watched some TV then around 9:30 Louis called and picked me up and we went to the diner. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday at all!
After a little break over the Holiday’s I’m back over on the Mojo Monday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…
My card starts off with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Black 110lb. The background is another piece of the Ivory 110lb that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My panel is a piece of paper from the DIY Shop 6×6 Pad. Across the lower half of the card is some American Crafts Black Glitter Paper. My greeting is a piece of Red Glitter Paper that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Circle Die along with a piece of Black 110lb and adhered them to each other and the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Finally, another piece of Red Glitter Paper is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Perfect Bow Craft Die, assembled and adhered to the card with Glue Dots. Classic Ivory, Black and Red makes for an elegant but fun birthday card that could be used for anyone! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the first Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge of 2016! Make sure and stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for your visit today, I love having you spend a little time with me! Thanks very much Dodie! Black, red and white are a very nice combo, I agree!
We don’t get the actual link to the post so after the Mojo Post goes live it should go to the correct page! Thanks for letting me know! 🙂
Justin,
LOVE this card!! The glitter gets me every time. But I especially like the Birthday Circle die!
It’s cold out there today.
Hi Gerri!
Thank you so much! Yes, glitter does make everything a little better! That die definitely is neat too! It was cold here yesterday and is even colder today, I feel you pain! 🙂
Good Morning Justin:
Love, love, love this card! The SS dies are fantastic and I was wondering if the glitter paper dulls them or in any way affect them at all? Does it matter if you die cut them from the glittery front or from the smooth back of the paper? Don’t know why I started to think about that but I did. I do know the glitter paper made a big mess out of my steel rule dies. I have found that now that the dies come nice and thin I don’t even use the steel rule ones anymore. I should donate them some place and make some room in here.
You have yourself a Magnificent Monday. New year, new month, new week, new day. Anything is possible. Love and hugs to you my friend. XXOO 🙂
Hello Grace!
Thank you very much! Yes, I do love the Simon Says Stamp Dies! I don’t think that the glitter paper dulls the dies too much, I guess if you did a lot of cutting they might get a little dull. Some dies like this Birthday Circle one you have to die cut from the front, sometime with snowflakes I’ll do it from the back. I don’t think that I have ever had a problem with dulling any kind of die, but it’s possible! I love the thin dies, especially the ones that you can line up around the images. I also like my Scan-N-Cut though! You should sell you old dies on eBay or easy and get some money for new ones!
I enjoyed my Monday and hope that you are off to a nice start to your New Year! Love and hugs to you too! XOXOXO 🙂

Good morning, Justin!
Yes, my new year is off to a good start. How about you? Should be getting my knee replacement in the next couple of weeks. Had my surgical clearance done, and I have 30 days to get the surgery done. Can you believe that it will be 2 years at the end of this month? Since I was struck by the car? I can, only because of living it everyday. I have worn a brace on the knee for about 22 months now. Its become part of my dress code. LOL! Anyway, I’m getting a tad nervous now, but with a lot of hard work and determination, l’ll be good to go, in no time. Well, gotta go, I’m at work. Have a great day! Hugs, 🙂 Donna 🙂

Hello Justin: I love this card, I think that birthday circle die is amazing and it looks so very elegant here with the red glimmer paper. Love the bow too, I’m getting both dies for sure. The music background paper also looks amazing.

Hi Maria!
Thank you! I love the intricate dies! I thought that the background paper reminded me of singing Happy Birthday! Hope that you are having a great week! 🙂
