Freshly Made Sketches 253

I had such a nice day in Manhattan yesterday! I took the 10:14AM train in and headed straight to The Ink Pad to see Anna and Jane! Oh how I have missed them! We got all caught up over lunch, we had Dirty Bird! Superdelicious! Around 2:30 I headed up to 77th Street to meet my friend Ella. She was running late so we only had a short time before she had to leave again so I’m going to go back in next Saturday and see her. After that I went to a coffee shop on 66th between 1st and 2nd called Java Girl. They had no Wi-Fi and no plugs! Talk about throwback! The coffee was really good and there were teenagers playing cards! It was really like a trip back in time! LOL! Kim and I had coffee and then headed back to her apartment to let out her neighbors dog that she is watching. From there we went to a local pizza place and had dinner. I headed back to Penn Station around 9:30 and got the 10:11 home. They have an App now where you can buy your ticket and show it on your phone! YAY! No more rushing to get to the ticket machine! When I got home I sat down and made my card for today. Renee has a crop at the store today so I will get to see my ladies and after work I have a birthday party to go to! 😀

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 253

I wanted to play around with some of the new Hero Holiday Sets but I’m not quite ready for Christmas cards! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My square in the middle is a piece of the same and it’s adhered to the base with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. Across the lower part is a piece of Gold Mirror Card and I tapered the ends to match the sketch. My two labels are from the Hero Arts Holiday Messages and Frames Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the large label in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto Black 110lb and the smaller on onto Vellum with Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder. They are bothe cut out with the Hero Arts Holiday Tags Frame Cuts. My greeting is from the Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The large label is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and a little more Fun Foam and the small label with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. A health dose of Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Rose Gold, Platinum and Sparkling Clear Sequins on the white panel really makes the card shine! I wanted to see how the mixed metallics looked together and I really like it! Also love when I can use a Holiday Set from something other than the Holidays! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for stopping by today! I wish you all a very happy Saturday! 🙂

Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Celebrations!

WCMC&9 Header

Yes, it’s me again! Back for my second post for today! It’s a little overcast here in NY this morning, I hope that it doesn’t rain, I’m off to Manhattan for the day! I really miss going into the city on a regular basis! I’ll have to make sure that I get my fill while I’m in today! The reason that I have two posts today is because I’m on an super new Design Team over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog! It has been created to celebrate the awesomeness that is Concord & 9th! Over the past year they have become one of my favorite companies, making some really cool and different stamps and dies! So I’m honored to be with such a talented group of artists using awesome products!

For our first challenge we are having a Celebration

Challenge 1 - Celebrations

Who doesn’t like to celebrate?! I used one of my favorite sets, the Happy Day Stamps and Coordinating Dies! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Ice Gold Curious Metallic. To create my cake I heat embossed the image from the Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Champagne Curious Metallic and colored in some of the flowers, icing and cake plate with my Prismacolor Colored Pencils. It is then die cut with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is die cut from Gold Mirror Card using another die from the set and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. For a little extra sparkle I added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Lime Sorbet, Pansy Purple and Lavender Moon Sequins! I have created some other cards with that cake but I really love the gold embossing and colored pencils on that metallic card stock! I hope that you enjoyed my first Design Team card for the Where Creativity Meets Concord and 9th Celebration Challenge! Make sure that you go over to the BLOG and see what my incredibly talented teammates have come up with to inspire you! We hope that you share your card in the gallery with us, we can’t wait to see what you create! Thank you so much for coming by again today! Enjoy the rest of your Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 311

I’m almost all caught up at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! My Hero Arts order is all entered! Finally! LOL! The Magic of Vellum Class was great! Everyone was very impressed with the technique that they learned and I got some feedback for future classes from my talented students! My Parent’s stopped by the store and we got to FaceTime with Aunt Shirley in London. After work it was time for this week’s Thirsty Thursday! Heather, Stephanie and I sat outside and enjoyed the perfect evening! Today I’m off to Manhattan for much needed visit! I’ll stop by The Ink Pad and then go uptown to see my friend Ella. From there I’m going to meet Kim and maybe have some dinner! I’m looking forward to it! As I had mentioned earlier in the week this is my first post for today! There will be another one around 12:00 for the new Design Team that I’m on over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge Blog! Be sure to come back for that!

This morning I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge to share with you…

Paper Players #311

Circles… I haven’t made a round card in a very long time! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out the folded card base except for about 1/8″ at the top. I then trimmed off about an 1/8″ from the bottom of the back panel and put it aside. My front panel on my card is stamped with the Concord & 9th Flourish Photopolymer Stamp Set in Altenew Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris, Midnight Violet, Forest Glades and Evergreen Crisp Inks using my Mini MISTI. I used the same Stitched Circle Die to trim it out and adhered it to the card base with E-Z Runner. To frame the card I cut out a piece of Gold Mirror Card with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames Lawn Cuts and adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is another piece of Gold Mirror Card cut out with the Concord & 9th Wonderful Words Dies. It’s adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Amethyst and Pansy Purple Sequins finish the card! I love that Flourish Set and can’t believe that it’s the first time I’m using it! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks for coming by this morning, don’t forget to stop back this afternoon to see the second post! Have an easy Friday morning! 🙂

OSAT September Blog Hop – Birthday Bash

OSAT Blog Hop Banner

What a super busy day I had yesterday! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was packed! That’s how I would like it every day! I got my Notions Order and the Hero Arts Order finally arrived! Woo hoo! I was selling it faster than I could enter it! I met some new people, Michelle and Deborah, super nice and so much fun! Creative people are the best! I got nothing prepared for my class so I did that after I had a quick dinner, when I got home. I also finished up my projects for today’s blog hop and ran a few errands! Oh how I love to get as much as humanly possible accomplished in one day! Today I have the Magic of Vellum Class that I will be finishing up getting ready for when I get to the store this morning! I also might get to take a trip into Manhattan over the weekend! Now that would be fun!! 😀

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here from my talented friend Tina’s blog, welcome! This month we have a a Birthday Bash theme! Who doesn’t love to make some birthday cards?! I have a card and a gift box that I made with some Altenew goodness to share with you!

First up is the card and the base for that is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I die cut a piece of my favorite Gold Mirror Card with the Spellbinders Damask Motifs Die and adhered it to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My flowers and leaves are from the Altenew Peony Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris and Midnight Violet and the leaves in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive and 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is from the Altenew Beautiful Lady Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Solar White 80lb that is backed with some more Gold Mirror Card. I flagged the left side and adhered it to the card with more 3D Foam Squares. A little scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Amethyst and Lime Sorbet Sequins finishes off the card! I don’t know why but I’m completely addicted to purples lately and I think that the flowers from the Peony Bouquet Set look stunning in them!

OSAT September Blog Hop Card-WM

Next up is my Pillow Box/Gift Card Holder. I cut out some Neenah Solar White 80lb with the Lawn Fawn Pillow Box Lawn Cuts and adhered the box together with Scor-Tape. Another die from the Spellbinders Damask Motifs set is cut out from some more Gold Mirror Card and adhered to the box with some more Scor-Tape. I added another one of the flowers and some leaves that I stamped along with the ones for the card on top of the die cut and added a piece of Glitter Light Purple Washi Tape across the bottom of the flowers to ground them a bit. Some more of the same Pretty Pink Posh Sequins as I used on the card are added and the box is done! What a fun way to give someone special a card with a matching gift card holder! Beats just sticking it in the card!

Paper Craft Crew 210

What a rainy overcast day we had here yesterday. I guess we only got the side of Hermine, better than the full force of it! I tried to get some things organized at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday and was mostly successful! It was quiet so I also got some time to make another card! Nothing makes me happier than creating! Love it! Speaking of creating I have some fun news for you today! I’m going to a Designer on a brand new blog celebrating Concord & 9th, one of my favorite companies! It’s called Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th! You can check out the rest of the extremely talented Design Team by going over to the BLOG! Our first challenge is Friday, so I will have two posts for you! Yay! After I got home last night Heather called and I went over and picked her up so we could run a few errands and then we had a glass of wine before I came back home. Today I’m hoping the some more of my orders will show up at the store and I have to get ready for the Magic of Vellum Class tomorrow!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS210 DT Sketch 9-07-2016

I could’t wait to get started on this one! I knew exactly what I was going to do! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Black 110lb over the front. The panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb. I wanted to use part of a NYC Subway Map for my strip across the middle but I didn’t have any so I went online and found a PDF of it and selected a section and printed it out. It’s adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. A little pice of Admit One Washi Tape is adhered on the right. Next I die cut a piece of Black 110lb with the Viewfinder from the Echo Park Viewfinder and Ampersand Die Set. On top of that is a piece of Solar White 110lb cut out with the slide die from the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Open Book Dies Set. I adhered some Vellum to the back and then adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. My images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Kelly’s New York Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them in with my Copics. They are all cut out with my Scissors and adhered to the card with more Foam Tape. The I love NY is heat embossed onto a piece of Real Red and punched out with a 1/2″ Circle Punch. My greeting is stamped in Onyx Black along the bottom left. Another piece of Real Red is made into a little banner and adhered over some Hemptique Black & White Baker’s Twine that is then tied into a bow over the banner. The whole panel is then adhered to the card base with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I love the eclectic mish-mosh of elements and that Kelly’s New York Set is one of my all time favorites! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the team’s cards and enter your card into the gallery! Thank you very much for visiting today! Have a wicked good Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 64 – CAS, Less is More!

How nice it was to have a long weekend! Having two days of that long weekend off was nice too! I did miss the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Renee but we’ll be back at it again today! I had a very crafty day yesterday! I love it when I get to make a bunch of cards ahead of time! I also love to have a nice crafty day at home! I was super productive and got four cards made! Woo hoo! Andrea and I FaceTimed just like the old days! Last night I went over to visit my friend Sue and see my pal Buddy! He missed me more than Sue did! LOL! We had a nice long chat and some good laughs, best way to end the day if you ask me! This morning I have to get my thinking cap on so I can plan this week’s Magic of Vellum Class at the store! We all know how much I love me some Vellum! 😀

The first Tuesday of the month, that means that we have a new Guest Designer over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Blog! This month it’s Jennifer Timko! To start the month off we have a Clean and Simple, Less is More Challenge…

SIP Challenge 64 - CAS

I did an almost one layer card with something that I love the look of but don’t do enough, masking! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the flowers from the Altenew Remember This Photopolymer Stamp Set onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. The large flower is then stamped onto a piece of Post-it Note and cut that out with my Scissors. After I stamped the base layer of the flower in Warm Sunshine I put the mask over it and stamped the outlines and leaves of the other two flowers in Warm Sunshine, Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades. The additional layers of all of the flowers are stamped in Mango Smoothie and Buttercream. My greeting is from the Altenew Painted Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Jet Black. To add a little detail I used the largest of the Lawn Fan Small Dotted Rectangle Stackables Lawn Cuts to trim down my panel. It’s adhered to the card base with E-Z Runner and the card is finished! I really love the Altenew Florals and must remember how much I like masking, it really is an awesome technique! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out Jennifer’s and the rest of the crazy talented Design Team’s cards. After you had a dose of inspiration enter your take on the challenge in the gallery! Thank you very much fro coming by today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 464

Happy Labor Day my friends! I had a relaxing and fun day yesterday! I got up very late, 10:00AM, did some computer stuff, took a shower and went over to spend some time with my friend Kim and the kiddies. After that I came home and made my card for today. I still love crafting in the Stampin’ Galley and with two days off I got to unpack most of the stuff that I lug back and forth to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store everyday! My Parents went over to my Brother’s to see the kids and I went over to Heather’s to help her get ready for a wedding that she and George went to. From there I ran a few errands and then came home and relaxed. I had a Lean Cuisine for dinner and around 10:30 I headed out to pick up Heather and Geroge. Today I was planning on going into Manhattan but I have had a headache for the past two days, I think it’s alleges, so I started taking Claritin to see if that helps. I think that I will stay in and have a crafty day instead!

Its Monday and you know what that means! It’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo464

I had picked up this 12×12 Paper Pad a while ago and have been meaning to use it so I did just that on today’s card! The base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I cut up some of the paper from the DCWV Minty Lace 12×12 Paper Pad and used them for my background layers. The really cool black one with the holographic foil is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Next up is another piece of paper cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts. I used some more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner to adhere it to the card. My flower is a combination of dies from the Spellbinders Makers Mart Monthly Kits. I cut the flower out of Solar White 80lb and Vellum with the center cut form Black 110lb. The leaves are cut from part of the 12×12 Paper and they are adhered to the card with a 3D Foam Square. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a strip of Black 110lb with the right side flagged. I tucked it under the flower and added some Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets and Sparkling Clear Sequins to finish the card. I really love that Paper Pad, especially the holographic text sheet! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s fantastic cards and let’s see your take on the sketch by entering your card into the gallery! Thank you very much for starting your Monday off here! Have a fun and safe Labor Day! 🙂

Large Floral Thank You

Boy did I get home late last night! I had a lovely and very busy day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! My friend Antoinette, who I haven’t seen in a very long time stopped by and Marianne who always makes me laugh! My friend Linda was there too! After work I stopped by the house and dropped off my bags before heading over to George’s to get him and Heather so we could go over to our friend’s block party. We had a great time and got to see lots of other peeps. Patty was there with her new puppy. She is part Siberian Husky and part Shepard and so cute that I had to hold her for most of the night! On the way home we stopped at the Diner and I had some of Heather’s French fries with melted mozzarella and brown gravy! Haven’t had that in years! But the time I got home it was 1:00AM and I still had to make a quick card!

Thankfully I had one of the backgrounds left over from the Thank You cards that I helped Erika make the other day! The image is the Hero Arts Large Floral Background Wood Mount Stamp and it’s stamped in Soft Lilac. I adhered it to a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My thank you is die cut using the Hero Arts Thank You Pair Fancy Dies from a piece of Gold Mirror Card and then twice from some more Solar White 110lb. I adhered them to each other and the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. All that was left to do was to add some Clear Droplets, Sweet Pea Sequins Mix and Gold Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and the card is done! Sometimes a nice quick card is fun and I think these would make a great set of cards to give to someone stamped in different colors! I hope that you like my quick card for today! Thanks for visiting and have a happy Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 252

Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day, nice and sunny and not too hot! The second wave of MISTI’s arrived at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store in the morning and our friends Elyse and Nancy stopped by in the afternoon! I finished my cards for this month’s Card Class and will post a picture on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Instagram and Facebook pages tomorrow! I also played with my Crystal Katana Tool and I love it!! Dinner last night with my Parents was tacos! Yum! After dinner I came home and crafted for bit and then Taylor stopped by. We ran to Target to get a few “necessities” and then I just chilled for the rest of the evening. Today I want to see if I can get things set up for this week’s Magic of Vellum Class. We are closed tomorrow and Monday, yay for two days off in a row!

Before we get to today’s card I want to thank Linda for choosing me as her Prince for last week’s challenge! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE! For this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge I made a super clean and simple card to share with you …

Freshly Made Sketches 252

The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. Across the bottom is a strip of White Gold Curious Metallic. I heat embossed the flower and leaves from the Altenew Magnolias for Her Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder onto some Aches 140lb Watercolor Paper. They are colored in with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors and a #4 Silver Brush. After they had dried I cut them out with my Scissors and adhered the leaves with Dot Runner Adhesive and the flower with 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black and also heat embossed with Clear. A few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold Sequins add a little sparkle and complete the card! I played around with the watercoloring, adding some layers after it had dried and I love the effect! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for spending some of your Saturday with me! Have an absolutely awesome day! 🙂

Fab Friday 95

We had a rainy Thursday here on Long Island. However, it’s always a nice day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I got in my Crystal Katana Tools! Wow, are they amazing! Taylor and Kiera stopped by for a visit, they brought some Blaze Pizza with them. My Sister-In-Law came by with Tristan so that I could help her make some Thank You cards. We made quick work of them and I got to spend some time chatting with her. She is such a good mom and a nice person. Renee left early to go and babysit her grandson. After work I went straight over to Heather’s for Thirsty Thursday. Thankfully the rain stopped so Heather, Stephanie and I sat outside. I really do enjoy my time with them, so much fun! Today I have some more MISTI’s coming to the store and a little re-stock of Concord & 9th!

It’s an extra fun Friday this week because we have a new Fab Friday sketch challenge…

Fab Fri 95 9-02-2016

This was one of those where as soon as I looked at the sketch the card popped into my head! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of paper from the DCWV Maps, Text and Ledges 8×8 Pad to the upper half of the card. Across the lower half of that is a piece of Washi Tape from Eyelet Outlet, I adhered it to some more Solar White 110lb for a little more depth. My piece of notebook paper is created using the Hero Arts Kelly’s To Do List Stamp & Cut. I used the die to cut out a piece of Black 110lb and then heat embossed the lines onto it with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The rest of the images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Acts of Kindness Photopolymer Stamp Set, except for the smiley face, he’s from the My Monthly Hero Kit for May. I heat embossed all of the images onto Coastal Cabana, Real Red and Sahara Sand. The Envelopes are cut out with my Scissors, the heart is punched out with a 3/4″ Circle Punch and the smiley with a 1/2″ Circle Punch. I adhered the greeting across the notebook paper and put a teal clothespin that I got from the Target Dollar Spot on the side. The notebook paper is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner and the all but one envelope is adhered with 3D Foam Squares. I added a little Cranberry Stickles to the hearts on the envelopes and the card is finished. I love the mix of neutrals with the pops of teal and red and the greeting is still one of my favorites!
