Paper Players 327

Happy almost Friday! We had another gloomy day here again, but not too cold so not too bad. Renee and I both worked on projects at the Store today. Tomorrow is National Popcorn Day so we are having a Pop-In to make a project event. Should be fun. After work I had dinner and then came home and turned on the TV. My exciting nights continue. I always try to keep everything positive but have you ever had that feeling like someone has tied a rock to you and thrown you in a lake. No matter how hard you try to you just can’t seem to get to the surface. That’s me lately. Things will get better I hope sooner rather than later. 😀

In keeping with my simpler cards I have one to share with you for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I used the Lawn Fawn Love Letters Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped the bird and speech bubble on some Solar White 80lb. I used Copics to color in the bird and then used the Coordinating Lawn Cuts to cut them out. I decided where I wanted them to go on the card and then stamped the back and front envelopes on another piece of Solar White 80lb. The hearts are colored in with Copics and then the panel is adhered to a piece of Black and then to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I added the bird and speech bubble, adhering them with 3D Foam Squares and the card is done! Super simple but I love the stamped background! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! Thank you so much for visiting! Have a good Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 227

A lovely, dreary, rainy day is what we had here yesterday. At least it wasn’t cold! Another fun day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store despite the weather. I got my card made for today and ran to the Post Office to mail out a few orders. Speaking of orders, thank you so much for them! It means a lot to me that you choose to get some of your crafty goodness from me! As a thank you to all of my faithful blog readers you can use discount code JKCARDSBLOG17 to take 10% off every order from the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! The discount can’t be combined with other discounts. And remember that all orders over $50 ship for FREE! Don’t forget about the two sales that are going on now as well! You can read more about that on yesterday’s blog post! I spent the rest of the day working on things and I also had the pleasure of speaking to my friend Anna from The Ink Pad! Oh how I miss her! The rest of my evening was the usual dinner and then TV. Not the most exciting person at night lately, I know. I’ll have to work on that! 😀

Let’s see… Wednesday, oh, I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

I wanted to keep my card clean and use only one stamp set so I pulled out one of my favorites! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Across the lower half I added a piece of American Crafts Peacock Glitter Tape. My images and greeting are from the Hero Arts You’re So Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Tide Pool and Mint Julep and the leaves in Lime Green. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts and adhered to the card with Dot Runner and 3D Foam Squares. For the greeting I heat embossed the hello in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tropical Sea, flagged the right side and used some more 3D Foam Squares to adhered it to the card. It needed a little bling and I wanted something different so I added a few gems from the Hero Arts Pool Mixed Accents and that did the trick! I love the colors together and the fun sparkle of the Peacock Glitter Tape! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG to see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by and for your support! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 82 – Natural Elements!

Still not feeling great! It has been over a week, I’m over the stuffy head! I was only at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store in the morning, I left around 2:00 to go over and work on some things with my friend Sue. I got to see my friend Buddy too! He’s a 60+ pound lap dog! LOL! So lovable and cute though! After I left Sue’s I came home and had dinner with my Parent’s and then it was time for TV once again. I wish I had more energy when I get home, time go cold! 😀

I’m having another big SALE over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store Web Store! You can take 30% off anything in the CHA Clearance section and 40% off all products in the 2016 Holiday collection! The sale is on through Wednesday! The codes are CHAFIN17 for the 30% and CHAHOLFIN17 for the 40%!

I did make a quick card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge and that’s what I have to share with you today…

Ahh… Natural Elements, we all know how I enjoy a little woodgrain! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black. I wanted a piece of newsprint and couldn’t find one so I went to good old Google and printed a sheet out from there. It’s cut out with the Hero Arts Nesting Postage Stamp Infinity Dies and adhered to the background with E-Z Runner. My tag is a piece of Kraft and I stamped the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp on it in Hero Arts Soft Brown Ink. A piece of May Arts Natural Twine is tied through the top and the tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My greeting and all of the other images are from the January My Monthly Hero Kit. I heat embossed the greeting onto the bottom of the tag with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. My images are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, the rose and bow in Red Royal and the leaves in Green Hills and Forever Green. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and used a Craft Knife to cut slits in the jar so I could pass the stem through. Everything except for the bow is adhered with Tombo Dot Runner. I used a 3D Foam Square to adhered the bow. A little dot of Multi-Matte Medium holds the twine in place and the card is done! I have said it before, I love the way flowers look against a woodgrain background! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Natural Elements Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by to see what I have been up! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 480

Well, I enjoyed my Sunday and hope that you did too! The second day of the Anniversary Crop at the Store was fun! We had an Italian and American Hero, Macaroni and Potato Salad for lunch and of course dessert! Someone made a baked Brie with pears and it was delicious! After work I came home and had a little dinner with my Parent’s. The rest of the evening was spent watching TV. I’m still not feeling my old self yet and have little motivation to do much. Hopefully that will change as the week wears on! 😀

It’s Monday and I get to share my Design Team card with you for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I was lucky enough to get my January My Monthly Hero Kit in the mail on Saturday so I took it to the store to play with yesterday! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Chinese Red. Across the card is a strip of Crisp Green. I used the Hero Arts Nesting Postage Stamp Infinity Dies to cut out a piece of Carta Bella Beach Day Surf Shop 12×12 and a another piece of Crisp Green. I ran the patterned paper through my Big Shot twice to get it to be a square and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My images and greeting are from the January My Monthly Hero Kit. I stamped the bouquet and additional flowers in Hero Arts Bubble Gum and Memento Tuxedo Black which I also used for the wrap. The wrap is colored in with Copics and then adhered with the bouquet and additional flowers to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I heat embossed the Love onto a piece of Chinese Red in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder, flagged the right side and tucked it under the flowers. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Raspberry, Watermelon and Sparkling Clear Sequins and the card is finished. I love the flowers in the shape of a heart and the fun postage stamp dies! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you! Let’s see your take on the sketch, share your card in the gallery with us! Thank you very much for starting another week off here with me! Have an awesome Monday! 🙂

Best Banner Day

What a fun day everyone had at Renee’s Anniversary Crop at the Store! We had a nice Italian lunch and cake and Chocolates by Cara for dessert! Renee played games and gave away prizes, so much fun! It did start snowing around 3:00, it was only sticking to the cars not the road thankfully! I stopped by Heather’s old apartment one last time on the way home and did the final walk through with her. After that I came home and Taylor was asleep on the couch so I decided that I should take a nap too! It’s amazing how much a little snooze refreshes you! Around 7:30 my friend Jim came by and we hung out, watched TV and chatted. Today is day two of the Crop, more fun to be had! 😀

I have a nice quick card to share with you today! On a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb I used my ruler and pencil to draw some diagonal lines and inch apart. To do my stamping I used the banner from the Concord & 9th Best Banners Photopolymer Stamp Set and I stamped it in Lawn Fawn Peacock, Sugarplum, Freshly Cut Grass and Sunflower Ink. I used the Concord & 9th Best Banners Dies to cut out a piece of Lemon Sorbet and Black and adhered them to the card and each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive, ever so slightly offsetting the black. My greeting is also from the Best Banners Set and is stamped in Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Ink. I adhered the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins. Super simple and very easy to duplicate! Who wouldn’t want to get that card in the mail?! I hope that you like today’s simple card! Thank you for visiting and have a simple Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 270

Well, it definitely got colder here yesterday. It is supposed to warm up again next week and I look forward to that! I got my haircut in the morning and then ran over to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to meet my friend Patrice. She showed me all of the cards that she has been working on recently and also gave me my Christmas card and a Get Well card that I will share with you soon! From there I went over to Heather’s to help with the move. We got a lot accomplished in a very short amount of time which was great. I went home for a little while and got caught up on my blog comments and took a little nap. I’m feeling much better but not 100% yet. Around 7:30 I headed over to George’s and the three of us went out to dinner in Huntington. We had Argentinian food, it was delicious. All small plates which was a great way to get a taste of a lot of different things. What nice way to end the day! Today is Renee’s anniversary crop so I’ll get to see some of the ladies! Always a good time!

When I got home last night I sat down and made a quick card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

A nice simple sketch deserves a nice simple card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the Hero Arts Large Floral Background stamp onto a piece of Smoky Slate with Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder. I also heat embossed the same image onto a piece of Basic Gray with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The Basic Gray panel is trimmed down to match the sketch. For my greeting I heat embossed one from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in more Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. Before I adhered the dark gray panel I added the greeting strip on the left and a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Card Stock to the right. A nice simple card but the embossing really adds a little wow! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for spending a bit of your Saturday with me! Have a sensational day! 🙂

Paper Players 326

It was like a Spring day here on Long Island yesterday! The temps got well up into the high 50’s! Such a nice reprieve from the snow! It won’t last for long, it’s to get cold again today but I enjoyed every minute of it! Renee and I got ready for the upcoming weekend crop at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Scrap-A-Latte. I also worked on my card for today and left the store a little early to come home and take a nap. I went over to the Heather’s for the last Thirsty Thursday at her old apartment. Brian and Kim stopped by and then Heather and I went to see Stephanie at her house for a bit. Today I’m off from the store but after I get a haircut in the morning I’ll head over there for a bit, my friend Patrice is stopping by! 😀

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I did use something somewhat recycled on my card. I had a few stamped flowers and leaves from a card that I had made a while ago using the Reverse Confetti Blooms ‘N Buds Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are stamped in Hero Arts Lime Green, Emerald Green and Butter Bar and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. They have been sitting on my desk for a long time and needed to be used! I adhered them to a tag with 3D Foam Squares that I cut out of Kraft and Crisp Green using the Reverse Confetti Topped Off Tags Confetti Cuts. I adhered the green piece to the tag and then threaded some May Arts Natural Twine through the top before adhering it to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My butterfly/greeting is stamped in Hero Arts Butter Bar using the Reverse Confetti Butterfly Dreams Photopolymer Stamp Set and is cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I used some more 3D Foam Squares to adhered it to the card and tucked the twine behind it. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Mossy Green, Lemon Drop and Iridescent Sunshine Glow Sequins and some Clear Droplets and the card is done! I do love those flowers and that butterfly, the greeting is really neat too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for coming by today! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

OSAT January Blog Hop – No Rules New Year!

I can’t believe that it’s already Thursday! I guess being sick makes the week fly by too! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was fun, Renee had a class in the morning and I worked on finishing up my projects for today’s post. I left early again so that I could come home and take a nap, another two hour one! I had dinner with my Parent’s, Dad is sick now too and Mum hasn’t gotten any better. After dinner Heather called me and I went over and met her at George’s. She was unpacking boxes and we listened to some music. I dug out a few oldies that neither of us had heard in a long time! Today I need to focus on catching up at things at the Store, I have been out of commission for too long! 😀

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here from the talented Marisa Gunn, welcome! This month we have a No Rules New Year theme! We could make whatever we want! One of my favorite things to make is tags so I have four to share with you today!

I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Tags Lawn Cuts to cut out all of my tags, three from Moonstone Blue and one from Hunter Green. The Dolphin and Turtle are from the Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Dragon and Griffon are from the Lawn Fawn Critters Ever After Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them all in Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink and colored them in with Copics. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts. For the turtle tag I cut out another piece of Hunter Green and a piece of Tropical Sea with the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Borders Lawn Cuts. The dolphin has a piece of Twilight cut with the Ocean Wave Borders. On the dragon tag I used the Lawn Fawn Puffy Clouds Borders Lawn Cuts to cut out some Solar White 80lb. Finally on the griffon I used the Lawn Fawn Forest Border Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Herb Garden and the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Crisp Green. All of the additional pieces are adhered to the tags with E-Z Runner and the animals are adhered with 3D Foam Squares. My happy birthday is from the Lawn Fawn Year One Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Black Licorice on all of the tags. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to all of the tags except the griffon and tied a piece of Lawn Fawn Black Tie Single Cord Lawn Trimmings through the top of all of the tags. Magnet Tape is added to the back of all of the tags so they can be attached to presents and then taken off to be put on the fridge! I would want to keep the tag if someone gave it to me!

I hope that you enjoyed my tags  for the OSAT No Rules New Year Blog Hop! You can click on the continue button below to see what the talented Dena Rekow has come up with!! Thank you so much for stopping by to see me today. Have a thoroughly awesome Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 226

Hello my friends! Still not feeling great but this too shall pass. It is making it hard to get my projects finished but they will still be there waiting. I had another quick day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. I got my card made and a few other things done but I left around 3:30 and came straight home and took a nap. I’m good for a few hours and then I get really tired. The rest of my evening after dinner was pretty boring. I can’t wait for this cold to be done! 😀

We are at the mid-way point in the week so it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I needed a nice Spring like card to brighten my mood so I took the Hero Arts Color Layering Large Orchid Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped the orchids in Soft Vanilla, Passion Flower, Grape Juice and Butter Bar using my Mini MISTI. The buds are stamped in Passion Flower and Grape Juice and the stem in Forever Green. I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them out and then adhered them to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 3/4″ wide, letting them hang off the left side. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Flamingo Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Grape Juice. I added a bunch of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Amethyst, Orchid, and Mossy Green Sequins. Love the Orchids in the purple with the vanilla base! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Theme Challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by to see me and thank you for all of your well wishes! Have a magical Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 81 – Black, White and a Pop of Color!

It’s funny how someone as cute as that little boy Daniel can wreak so much havoc! He successfully got my Mum, Taylor and I all sick! I haven’t been sick in over 4 years! When I went to Walgreen’s to get a decongestant I had no idea what to buy! The one that I did get did nothing! I have gone through an entire box of tissues today! Enough complaining! LOL! I did manage to go to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and get some of my things done. My friend Janine stopped by, always nice to see her. I did leave around 4:00 and when I came home all I wanted to do was take a nap. Taylor had already claimed the couch so I went into the bedroom. I should have turned off my phone because it didn’t stop! LOL! Finally I got a call from Heather asking me if I wanted to run to IKEA and stop and get some dinner so I figured might as well! We did have a nice time and I managed to get home by 9:30, typed my posts for today and crawled into bed. Hopefully I will be feeling a little better as today goes on! I hate being sick! 🙁

On a happy note it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge

I dug around in my stash and found another Holiday set that I thought I could turn into a non-Holiday card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Hexagon Dies to cut out some Black and Chinese Red, making one of them a frame. To the back of that frame I adhered a piece of Acetate and then a layer of 3M Foam Tape to create a well for some Pretty Pink Posh 3mm Sparkling Clear and Gold Sequins. I adhered a large red hexagon to the back and then adhered all of the hexagons to the card. My bear and cup are from the Pretty Pink Posh Winter Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used my Copics to color them in and then cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. They are adhered to the right side of the shaker with 3D Foam Squares. The greeting is from the Pretty Pink Posh Fox Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I was going to add some more sequins but I thought that it would take away from the nice simple design. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Black, White and a Pop of Color Challenge! We hope that you will take some time and share your card with us in the gallery! Head over the BLOG, the rest of the Team has some great inspiration cards for you! Thank you so much for stopping by here! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂
