Paper Craft Crew Sketch 13

Good Wednesday morning! Wednesday means that we are halfway to the weekend! Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Design Team Card. This week we have a sketch…

I went with a non-traditional Holiday card. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Early Espresso with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for my background. The two flagged strips are Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede and they are adhered to the card with SNAIL. The image is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla. I cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. I used two of the same Framelits to cut out a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper to create a frame for the image. The frame and the label are both mounted to the card and each other with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of retired Very Vanilla 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon tied in a bow finishes off the card. I love the simplicity of the sketch and the glimmer paper gives the card a nice balance. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge. Mojo 264

Hello there! Glad to see you again! Happy Tuesday! Did everyone have a good Monday? Mine was ok, got a lot more stuff done yesterday than I thought I would and that’s always a good thing! Today’s post id for this Week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week our sketch is provided by Teresa Kline…

A fun sketch indeed! My card starts off withe a base of Very Vanilla Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Always Artichoke with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The piece in the middle is River Rock, by far my most neglected color. I used the Snowflake Party Builder Wheel inked in Always Artichoke to make my own Designer Series Paper. The Scallop Edge Border Punch and some Very Vanilla make the scallop  along the bottom and I adhered it to the card with some SNAIL. The stamped image is from the Scentsational Season Stamp Set and is stamped in Always Artichoke, the star is stamped in Bravo Burgundy and I cut it out with my Paper Snips. I used the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch it out. A piece of Bravo Burgundy is pierced along the edge with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flagged strip is stamped in Bravo Burgundy using the Border Banter Stamp Set. I edged it with the Bravo Burgundy Stampin’ Write Marker before I adhered it to the panel with SNAIL. I used the 3/4″ Circle Punch to punch out a piece of Always Artichoke the create the backing for the River Rock star that I cut out and used my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to make. They are both adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the color combination, it gives the card an older feel without any distressing. The little 3D star is probably my favorite piece! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. Thank you for checking in and have yourselves a fun day! 🙂

Paper Players #118

Good morning! I’ll say it again just like I did last Monday… where does the weekend go?!?! I hope that you had a “longer” weekend than me and that it was as good as mine! I had a nice time in Manhattan yesterday and got some of my other to-do list accomplished. Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. The lovely Anne Marie has give us this challenge…

I had a little chuckle when I saw this. I just did a frame like card for Pals yesterday! Psychic… probably not! I decided that I would take the challenge literally and do a project in a frame. I got these great “shadow box” frames on clearance in Kohls a while ago and I wish I would have gotten more. I love the extra 3D effect that you can get when you have the room. The base of my project is Whisper White Card Stock that I stamped randomly in Midnight Muse with the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set. The tree branch is created with the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set. The pine needles are stamped in Gumball Green and then I used a piece of leftover rubber to stamp the stems in Soft Suede. I stamped the ornaments from the Keepsake Ornaments Stamp Set in Summer Starfruit and Primrose Petals and cut them out with the coordinating Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies. The branch is mounted to the base with a double stacked layer of Stampin’ Dimensionals. The ornaments are mounted with a single layer, some behind and some on top of the branch. The greeting is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple. It is also mounted it to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I know the challenge also said CAS but this actually wasn’t that difficult or time consuming. The longest part was the fussy cutting of the branch. I tried it without doing it and just didn’t look right. Did you also notice that I used all of the new In-Colors?!?! I think they look great together. I hope that you enjoyed my framed project for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. Thank you for stopping by and have a super day! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 145

Good morning! I hope that you are all having a great weekend! I had a wonderful time yesterday at Great Adventure with my friends! I have to say that El Toro is my favorite roller coaster I think of all time. We went on it three times and most of the other ones twice. I’m off to Manhattan today and then I have some serious crafting to do later! I also want to take a minute to wish my friend Sandy a very Happy Birthday!

Today’s post is for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This week we have a sketch from Margaret Moody…

I’ll say it again, I love any sketch with a flagged piece on it! The base of my card is Gumball Green Card Stock. The next layer is a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I pierced each side using the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The flagged piece on top of that is a piece of Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper. Both of those pieces are adhered to the card with SNAIL. The main image consists of the window from the Cottage Window Stamp Set that I stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with my Paper Snips. I stamped the tree from the Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set in Gumball Green and then stamped the snowflakes from the Cottage Window Stamp Set with the Illuminate Glimmer Pad. The background is Primrose Petals stamped in Primrose Petals with the Woodgrain Background Stamp. I mounted it to a piece of Soft Suede and then adhered it to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler, punched out with the Word Window Punch and also mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the snowy image through the window and the unexpected pop of Primrose Petals. I hope that you enjoyed my Pals Paper Arts Challenge card. Thank you for stopping by and have a great day! 🙂

Control Freaks October 2012 Tour!

Welcome to the Control Freaks October 2012 Tour! You are probably arriving here from LeeAnn Greff’s blog! Didn’t she have some awesome projects?!?! This month’s theme is “The Men in our Lives” featuring masculine projects. The men in my life would be my dad, my brother… oh and me! LOL! I love to do masculine projects, there are some great stamp sets that you can use. I have featured some of my favorites, Postage Due, Fine Feathers, Nature Walk and You’re Amazing. I have two 3D projects to share with you today. The first one is a box and the second one is a banner. We’ll start off with the box.

The bottom of the box is Soft Suede and the top is Night of Navy. I used my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to create it. A great tip to remember is when you go to make the lid move your card stock ever so slightly over to the right for each side. It really helps the lid fit much better. I used a piece of burlap for the background, it gives it a nice rough feel. The greeting is from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut it out and the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the edge. I scored the tabs and adhered them to the sides of the lid with Sticky Strip. The two tickets poking out are stamped in Soft Suede using the Take a Ticket Wheel and cut out with my Paper Snips.I flagged a piece of Night of Navy and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the burlap. Some Champagne Glimmer Paper is punched out with the Merry Minis Punch pack and they too are adhered to the flagged piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The box is not overly complicated and I think makes a nice place for your dad or brother’s birthday gift!

The banner contains a lot of elements! The base of each banner consists of a piece of Not Quite Navy that is flagged on the bottom and a piece of Crumb Cake that is also flagged on the bottom and the embossed using the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. All of the letters are stamped in Not Quite Navy using the Morning Post Alphabet and cut out with my Paper Snips. On the first and last banners we have a piece of Very Vanilla that is stamped using the Travel Journal Builder Wheel in Soft Suede and then flagged on both ends. A thin piece of Not Quite Navy is flagged and placed on top of that. The stamped image is from the Postage Due Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch. The rosette is made from First Edition Designer Series Paper and has a piece of Not Quite Navy and Champagne Glimmer Paper punched out with Circle Punches. The second and sixth banners have a piece of Soft Suede punched out with the 1″ Square Punch and pierced around the edge using the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack. A piece of Not Quite Navy is flagged on each end and pierced along the middle and placed on top of that. The stamped image is from the Fine Feathers Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with my Paper Snips. In the upper corner is a piece of Not Quite Navy that is punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and pierced around the edge. The bee is from the Nature Walk Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with my Paper Snips. The third and fifth banners have a piece of Not Quite Navy that is punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. The stamped image is from the Postage Due Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch. The 3D star is cut from a pattern and scored using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool, folded and mounted on a few Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally the center banner has a piece of Not Quite Navy  that is punched out with the Decorative Label punch and an oval is pierced in the center. The bird is from the Language of Friendship Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede on Soft Suede and punched out with the Bird Builder Punch. In the upper left corner is a Vintage Faceted Button with a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper in the center and a piece of Not Quite Navy cut out with the Bitty Banner Framelits Dies, cut in half and adhered underneath.

WOW! That was a lot of product! LOL! I really hope that you enjoy my two projects for this month’s Control Freaks Blog Tour. Freshly Made Sketches #57

Hello everyone and welcome to Friday! I love it when the week is over and we are going into the weekend! I had a downline meeting last night which is always fun. I love to to see everyone and to swap. I have a busy weekend ahead, tomorrow Great Adventure for fright fest and then into Manhattan on Sunday for a bit. A full but fun weekend for sure!

Before we get to today’s post I want to take a minute to thank Narelle for choosing my card for last week’s Freshly Made Sketches. You can see my original post here and the Freshly Made Sketches post here. Now on to this week’s challenge. This week LeAnne has given us this super CAS sketch…

I think this is the most CAS card I have ever made. The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. The bottom half of the background is Crumb Cake that I embossed with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The top half is just a piece of Raspberry Ripple. I used a piece of Raspberry Ripple 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon across the seam that I adhered around the back with some Sticky Strip before adhering the panel to the card with SNAIL. The images are from the Affection Collection Stamp Set and the Merry & Type Stamp Set. The base image is stamped in Crumb Cake and the “Merry and Bright” is stamped in Raspberry Ripple. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut it out and mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Like I said, super CAS and also a great workshop card that could be easily stepped up! I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card. Thank you, as always, for visiting and your comments. I appreciate it! Have a fun day! 🙂

CCMC 223 Sketch

Good morning! It’s Thursday and we know what that means… tomorrow is Friday! I’m feeling a little better than I have, hopefully that means I’m nearing the end of the cold. I have a meeting out east tonight and a busy weekend ahead of me. I hope that the cold is almost over!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week the lovely ladies have given us this sketch…

I decided that I wanted to try something a little different. In the latest issue of the Demonstrator magazine, Stampin’ Success, they stamped on a Window Sheet with White Staz-On so I decided I would give that a try with a little twist. The base of my card is Naturals White Card Stock. I cut a smaller piece of the same card stock and used some Twitterpated Designer Series Paper for the diagonal strip and some Midnight Muse 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon across the top of that. The greeting is stamped in Midnight Muse and is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set. A Vintage Faceted Designer Button with a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper in the center completes that layer. The window that I created to the left is Midnight Muse. The base layer is stamped with the Illuminate Glimmer Pad using the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set. I stamped images from the same set in White Staz-On on a piece of Window Sheet and cut out a frame of Midnight Muse to go over the top. I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the framed piece. I love the way the snowflakes look stamped in the Illuminate Glimmer and White Staz-On layered on top of one another. You can see the effect a little better in the second picture. I hope that you enjoyed my Guest Designer card for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. Be sure to hop on over and check out the other Design Team’s cards and post one of your own for us to see. Thanks for dropping by and have a great day!

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge 12

Hello and a good morning to you all! I’m still stuffy from my cold and I think the worst part is my ears being clogged. All I keep saying is what?! I hope that you all are doing ok. Today’s post is for this weeks Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This week the other designers a I are given this neat sketch…

I really like the layout, clean and simple and some flags! The base of my card is Sahara Sand Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Raspberry Ripple randomly with the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set in Raspberry Ripple for my background. The small piece of paper under the two Raspberry Ripple flags is Patio Party Designer Series Paper. The main image is from the Wonderful Winterland Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black. The images in this set are fun and great for coloring in and that’s just what I did. I used Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, Sarah Sand, Soft Suede, Blush Blossom and Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Write Markers. The greeting is form the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple. All of the elements are adhered to the card with SNAIL. The piece of ribbon across the lower half of the card is Summer Starfruit 3/8″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon. Some Basic Jewels Rhinestones are adhered to the ribbon for a little bling. I really like the mix of colors and the cute little girl and rabbit are perfect for anyone for Christmas. I hope tou enjoyed my Design Team card for the Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge this week. Mojo 263

Morning peeps! I barely made it through Monday. I woke up late, poor Winston was sick and I have a cold. Boy was that ever a Monday! I hope I don’t have another one like that for a while! Now on to more fun stuff. Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week our sketch is provided by Julee Tilman…

My card starts off with a base of Early Espresso Card Stock. The Island Indigo square at the top is pierced around the edges with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool along with the Pool Party piece that I punched out with the Curly Label Punch. I also pierced the Island Indigo Scallop Circle that I punch out with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. They are all adhered to the card with SNAIL. The strip of Very Vanilla across the middle is stamped in Island Indigo with the Very Vintage Jumbo Stampin’ Around Wheel. A strip of Early Espresso is flagged and adhered to the lover half of that piece. I punched out another scallop circle with the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch in Pool Party. The greeting is from the Mixed Medley Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo. The larger scallop is adhered to the back and then they are both mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used a Naturals Designer Button tied with a piece of Linen Thread for my embellishment. I hope that you like this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. Thank you for checking in with me today! Enjoy your Tuesday!

Paper Players #117

Yes, it’s Monday again! The weekend really does go by way too fast. I did have a nice day yesterday. I had brunch with my friend Carol in the morning and we got to catch up and I also saw my buddy Sandy again. Yes, I even got some crafting done. Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Jaydee has given us this color combo…

A very unusual combination but I do like to go outside my comfort zone! The base of my card is Night of Navy Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Cajun Craze with the Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The images are form the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set and are 2-Step Stamped in Bravo Burgundy. I cut them out with my Paper Snips and adhered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the Window Frames. I cut a piece of Night of Navy and a piece of Very Vanilla out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies. The Night of Navy piece is pierced using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. They are adhered to each other with SNAIL and to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is stamped in Bravo Burgundy and cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. I backed it with a piece of Night of Navy that I flagged and that too is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Now that the card is finished I really do like the bold color choices for this week’s Paper Players Challenge and I hope that you enjoyed it too. Thank you for stopping by and have yourselves a great day! 🙂
