SIP Challenge 45 – Welcome Baby!

Another interesting day for me in Manhattan! I took the same train that I always do but decided to mix things up a bit and take the Subway from Jamaica Station. Thankfully I got a seat because there were some delays and it took just over an hour. There was also some guy on the train that was singing and dancing around for no good reason. It’s a little crowded in the mornings on the Subway to share your “talents” or lack there of! LOL! I was by myself until 2:00 when Mary came in. A Stampin’ Up! Demo from Wisconsin by the name of Melynn Long stopped by and we had a very nice visit! I made the 7:11 train and stopped by my parents for a bologna sandwich before coming home and wondering on my projects for the evening. Today I’ll be back at The Ink Pad with Barbara and the second Hand-lettering Class so I’ll be at the store until at least 9:30. I enjoyed sitting in on the class last time so I’m sure that it will be fun again!

It’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge time and this week we have a Welcome Baby Theme…

    SIP Theme 45 800

I had a pram exactly like that when I was a baby! My card is a very non-traditional one! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Curved Edge Die to cut off the lower right of the card front. The background is a piece of Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper also cut with the Curved Edge Die and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I die cut a tag from a piece of Desert Storm 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies and tied a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord through the top. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My fun pickle jar and greeting are from the Unity Stamp Co. In a Pickle Stamp Set. I stamped the pickle jar in Memento Tuxedo Black and used my Copics to color them in. A nice thick coating of Glossy Accents is applied over the “glass” to make it look nice and real! The jar is adhered to the tag with Foam Tape and then the greeting is stamped in Onyx Black in the lower right on the card inside. I think that it’s a nice funny congrats for an expectant mum! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the clever Design Team has come up with to inspire you! Don’t forget to share your card with us in the gallery! Thank you so much for your visit today! Have a superdelicious Tuesday! 🙂

Off we go into another week! I had a very productive day yesterday but when you try to get too much accomplished things car go awry! I managed to get three cards made, my laundry finished and ran some errands. I even went out to dinner with my parents to Applebee’s. However I forgot to upload my card to the Mojo Monday folder. Almost a perfectly productive day but not without a glitch! Sorry Theresa! Today I’m off to The Ink Pad again for another fun filled day! 🙂

Speaking of Mojo Monday it’s time for this week’s sketch…

    Mojo445

We haven’t had a round or square one in a while and I hardly ever make a round card so I went for it! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut two circles using the Simon Says Stamp Nested Circles Dies and scored the top of the back one and cut about a 1/4″ off of the bottom so it would stand up. The top is then adhered with Scor-Tape. Across the middle is a piece of Real Red that I also cut with the Circles Dies so that the edges would be perfect. The Yay! and It’s Your Day are both from the Simon Says Stamp Hello, Beautiful Photopolymer Stamp Set. The Yay! is stamped on the card front using Onyx Black. My square is a piece of paper from the Simple Stories Life in Color 6×6 Paper Pad and it’s cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies. I cut another circle using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies from a piece of Black 110lb and heat embossed some more images from the Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The Square, Circle and greeting are adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I’m glad that I went with the circle card, it was fun to make! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge and that you will stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thank you for you visit today! Have a nice and easy Monday! 🙂

    Sending Love

Yay! It’s Sunday and I’m home! Yes, I sound like a broken record but it turned out to be a beautiful day in Manhattan after a little bit of rain in the morning. It wasn’t raining too hard so I walked down to The Ink Pad. The store was fun as always, I had some Chop’t for lunch again, love that salad! I was on the 7:12 train so I was home by 8:10 and had some leftover pizza at my parent’s before coming home and catching up on some TV. I made my card for today and then happily went to bed! I’m going to try and get some of my projects for the week ahead done today, I have another busy week coming up!

The aforementioned card is another quick one! I saw the background paper while looking through the Stampin’ Galley and that was the inspiration for today’s card! The base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front in a piece of Night of Navy and then added a panel of Real Red. My background paper is from a pack of cards that I picked ups at TJ Maxx a while ago. I stamped the greeting onto it from the Lawn Fawn You’ve Got Mail Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My images are from the same set. I heat embossed the mailbox onto a piece of Night of Navy with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The envelopes are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the Airmail is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered the mailbox with E-Z Runner and the letters and airmail with Foam Tape. A nice simple card and the heat embossed mailbox saved having to color in the image! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thanks for coming by! Have a nice relaxing Sunday peeps! 🙂

Slide Frame Floral Thinking of You

The two longest days of the week are over! Manhattan was just lovely once again, sunny and really warm! I got in early and went for a walk over to the Apple Store on 14th Street to have a look round. After I was finished I went back to The Ink Pad and finally caught up on my comments! I feel so much better! Barbara and I had a good day, we cycled between having the door open and the air conditioner on! I got the same train out to Babylon as I did yesterday and Brian was waiting at the station for me. We had Taco Bell for dinner and class was fun once again! When I got home I had a cup of coffee and then ran over to see my friend Louis for a bit. I got back to my house around 11:45 and made my card for today. This morning I’m off to Manhattan again to spend the day with Barbara! YAY!

I really liked using the Fresh Cut Florals Set so I decided to use it again. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The photo frame is from the Heidi Swapp Photo Frames Memory Planner Collection and is adhered to the card with Tombo Dot Runner Adhesive. I die cut all of my flowers and leaves using the W Plus 9 Fresh Cut Florals Dies and then stamped them with Simon Says Stamp Rosie Cheeks, Teeny Bikini, Hot Mama, Jellybean and Green Apple Ink using the Fresh Cut Florals Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped on a strip of Solar White 80lb in Onyx Black. I adhered it to the card over the frame with Foam Tape. After arranging my flowers and leaves I picked them up with Press n Seal and added Multi-Matte Medium and Foam Tape to the back and then adhered them over the frame too. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are added for some sparkle and the card is done! I really do love that W Plus 9 set and I can’t believe how long it has taken me to use it! I hope that you enjoy today’s card! Thanks for stopping by and have a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

    Freshly Made Sketches 233

Oh yes, it’s Friday! Yesterday was a long day! LOL! I took the 8:12 train into Manhattan. I had to run up to 72nd Street and pick up some books for Anna and bring them back to the store. I stopped at Magnolia Bakery and got some cupcakes to give as a thank you for them. After I retrieved the books I headed down to The Ink Pad. Barbara and I had another nice day and the weather was just beautiful! We had sushi for lunch and a little treat of some Pinkberry in the afternoon! I got the 4:56 train out to Babylon and Andrew picked me up at the station. We stopped at Wendy’s and grabbed some dinner. Class was loads of fun like always! Danielle drove me home and we chatted for a bit. I came into the house and sat down to make my card for today and then I was more than ready for bed! I get to do it all over again! Hopefully everything goes smoothly again!

Today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Before I get to today’s card I want to thank Narelle for choosing me as the King of Clean for her wonderful sketch from last week! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE! Now for this week’s sketch…

    Freshly Made Sketches 233

Sometimes something that has been sitting on my desk for a while sparks the entire card! My base today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Ivory 110lb and stamped the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp in Encore Gold Metallic Ink and then coated it with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heat set it. It’s then cut out with the large banner from the Hero Arts Ribbon Messages Stamp & Cut. I adhered it to the card with Foam Tape and tucked one of the flowers from the The Ton’s Petal Cut Peonies Dies that I colored with my FineTec Metallic Watercolors. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped the for everything in more Encore Gold Metallic and coated it with some more Clear Embossing Powder. The Thanks is cut from a piece of Pluto Stardream Metallic and adhered to the banner with Multi-Matte Medium. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added and the card is done! I love the flower in the Gold and the Woodgrain Stamped in the Gold and heat embossed is so cool! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you very much for your visit today! I have been behind on my comments and I apologize for that but I intend to catch up today! I wish you all a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Ok, I’m one tired boy! LOL! I got into Manhattan a little early yesterday, I had to clean up the store from class the night before. I put away the tables and chairs and swept and put all of the displays back. It was a steady day, not too busy but a good flow of people. Barbara and I had Chop’d for lunch, it’s a salad place and you can get all kinds of different ones and it was delicious! I also got a nice walk in since it’s about 10 blocks from the store! I caught the 7:12 home and was back in my house by 8:15. As soon as I got home I stared to do my cutting for class and finished that around 10:30. This morning I have to go in a little early and head uptown to pick up some stuff for the store. I have to leave at 4:45 today to get the train out to Babylon where Andrew is going to pick me up so I can get to Scrap-A-Latte in time for tonight’s card class! Fingers crossed peeps!

If you have a minute and are so inclined my Brother and Sister-in-law have entered Daniel in a contest with Newsday for the cutest little boy on Long Island. You click HERE to go and cast your vote for him! Thanks! Just in case you need a little reminder of just how cute he is…

Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Paper Players Clean & Simple Butterflies from Sandy

    Paper Players #291

I kept mine super Clean & Simple! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe. My main panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb and all of my images and greeting are from the Hero Arts You’re So Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers and the greeting in Tide Pool and the leaves in Forever Green. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My butterfly is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Butterflies and is stamped in Light Peach to Dark Peach Ombre in for the base layer and Unicorn White Pigment ink for the top. I added some Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder to it and heat set it. The Coordinating Dies cut it out and a thin strip of Foam Tape adheres it to the card. Very simple indeed but I love that butterfly and the fun flowers! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for coming by today! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂

No matter how long the day is as long as it’s in Manhattan it’s a good day! The Ink Pad was great as always! Anna and I had a nice productive day, we got lots of stuff entered and put away. I stayed late because there was a class, Handlettering taught a very talented young lady named Caitlyn. She has an Etsy shop if you want to take a look at some of her work you can find it HERE. Kim came by the store and we had Noodles for dinner, she is off to Missouri this morning, I’ll really miss her this week seeing as I’m going to be in the city a lot! By the time I got home it was 10:45. Taylor was there with Kiera keeping Winston company. I sat down and made a card and relaxed a for bit. Ready to do it all over again tomorrow! 🙂

So it’s Wednesday right?! LOL! That means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

    PCCCS191 DT Sketch 4-20-2016

I have really been enjoying the look of White Pigment Ink on Kraft Card Stock especially with another ink color stamped over it! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Mossy Meadow onto the base for my background. The circle is a piece of Blackberry Bliss that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. My greeting is stamped onto a piece of Desert Storm 80lb that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies. The greeting is stamped in Hero Arts Grape Juice Ink using the A Bit of Kindness Wood Mount Stamp. My flower and leaves are stamped in Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink and they are from the Hero Arts For you Flowers Color Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the second layer of the leaves in Forever Green Ink and the second layer of the flower in Grape Juice. The flower is cut out with my Scissors and both the flower and greeting are adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to give the card a little shine. That Hero Arts For you Flowers is definitely becoming one of my favorite Color Layering Sets! SIP Challenge 44 – Inspiration!

Yes, we had one absolutely lovely day here yesterday! It was in the high 70’s and indeed I was out in the car with the top down and the music turned up nice and loud! In the morning I FaceTimed with Andrea and got a few things accomplished. I left the house around 12:00 and I had a quick lunch with Bill. From there I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to finish the cards for this week’s class. It was nice because Renee’s son Nick was there so I got to catch up with him! When I got back home I had some dinner with my parents and then spoke with Anna from The Ink Pad. Her dad passed away and my heart goes out to her and her family. She has to go to Taiwan for the services so I’m going to help out at the store for the next week. It’s going to be a very very busy week! Let’s see if I can get everything done! 🙂

Tuesday and we have another fun challenge for you over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog…

    SIP 44 Lighthouse Inspiration 800

That is actually the Fire Island Light House not too far from me here on Long Island! I went with a nautical feel for my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The front is covered in a piece of Real Red. On top of that is a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut it out. For my shaker I also used the Stitched Rectangles to cut out two pieces of Solar White 80lb and a piece of Acetate. The top panel has a circle cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. I stamped the greeting in Hero Arts Pool to Navy Ombre Ink from the Simon Says Stamp Naughty Nautical Photopolymer Stamp Set. My back panel has some Tide Pool Ink applied with my Mini Ink Blending Tool and a piece of Night of Navy cut with the Simon Says Stamp Border Waves Die and the Stitched Circles. I stamped the sailboat from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set using the Ombre Ink again and cut it out with the Coordinating Die. Some Foam Tape is applied to the back of the front panel in a double layer and I added Seed Beads and Sequins before adhered the backing. The shaker is then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I probably could have put a little less shaker bits inside but the seed beads make a fun noise and keep the sequins from getting stuck! I also think that greeting is really neat! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Inspiration Challenge! Don’t forget to visit the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you! We can’t wait to see what you make so be sure to share it with us in the gallery! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have a lovely Tuesday! 🙂

    Mojo Monday 444

Do you ever have one of those days? The kind where you have so much to get done and you just can’t pick a starting point so not much gets done! I hate when that happens! That was my Sunday! The weather was so nice I think that it may have played a part in my distraction! I kept wanting to be outside! I did get a few things done but no where near as many as I wanted! Oh well, we’ll try to finish up things today! I was supposed to take Heather to the airport this morning but she called me last night and apparently she has a 101 fever so she won’t be going anywhere. Feel better Heather! How was your Sunday?

Today is Monday and that means that it’s time for a new Mojo Monday sketch…

    Mojo444

This card all began with the urge to watercolor and evolved from there! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Mama Elephant Sew Fancy Creative Cuts to cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb. It’s gives it that nice cross stitched detail around the edge. I then masked off the edge with some Post-it Tape and stamped the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripe Background Stamp onto it using my MISTI and Simon Says Stamp Black Ink. It’s then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. The three panels are Gold Mirror Card Stock and they are adhered with Foam tape and E-Z Runner. The flower and leaves are from the Mama Elephant Fresh Cut Florals Photopolymer Stamp Set and are heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to color them in and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. A little more E-Z Runner adheres them to the card. My greeting is a piece of Black 110lb cut out with the Mama Elephant Hello Script Creative Cuts and adhered to the flowers and leaves with Multi-Matte Medium. It really is funny how hard it is to take a good photo of a card with Mirror Card Stock on it! The greeting really stands out in real life! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you and enter your card in the gallery so we can see your creative take! Thank you very much for starting your week off by stopping by to see me! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

    Masked Vintage Roses

Nice weather here again yesterday! Sunny and warm, still could be warmer but I’ll take it! I didn’t do very much yesterday, I slept which was actually nice. I did get some crafty time but not as much as I would have liked! My parent’s went to Pennsylvania yesterday and they brought back some really good old fashioned donuts! Last night I got to catch up with Michael and did some more research. It’s amazing how much knowledge you can gain from the internet! Today I definitely have some projects to get finished! I will be getting up at 4:00am tomorrow morning to take Heather to the airport. She has to go to Dallas for business overnight. Could she have picked an earlier flight?! That’s going to hurt!

Last night I had the urge to do a one layer card. I haven’t done masking in a long time so I thought that I would give it a go! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of the flowers and leaves are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the roses in Altenew Coral Berry, Ruby Red and Grapevine Crisp Inks and the leaves in Simon Says Stamp Jellybean, Green Apple and Green Leaf Ink. I created my mask with a piece of Masking Paper and used it over and over! By the time I was finished it didn’t have any stick left to it and was covered in ink! My greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped in Onyx Black and trimmed out with my Scissors. I used some Foam Tape to adhere it to the card and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets, I love how they look like water on the flowers! The Altenew Crisp Inks are really nice and I can’t wait to get some more colors! I hope that you enjoyed my sort of one layer card for today! Thank you for coming by and I wish you all a simple and fun Sunday! 🙂
