CCMC 219

Hello and a good Saturday morning to you. Today is the big day, my brother’s wedding. I did the invitations and I’m officiating the ceremony today. It should be a lot of fun, a lot of may family is over from England. Wish me luck! 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a sketch challenge…

I wanted to keep the card very clean and simple but still fun. The base of the card is More Mustard Card Stock. I used the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut out a piece of Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper for the background. The strip of Tangerine Tango across the lower half is stamped with spooky form the Wicked Cool Stamp Set in Basic Black. I stamped the cauldron from the Toxic Treats Stamp Set in Basic Black and punched it out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. The spider web and treats for boo are from the Mixed Medley (Host(ess)) Stamp Set from the 2012 Holiday Catalog. The web is stamped in Basic Black and punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. The boo is stamped in Tangerine Tango and punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. They are all adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the plaid of the Howlstooh & Scaringbone DSP and the font of the spooky! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card. Thank you so much for checking in with me today and I hope your day is a great one!

Freshly Made Sketches #53

A good Friday morning to you all! It’s a very good one for me because I am off from work! My cousins and I are headed into Manhattan today so they can do some more shopping. I’m undecided as to whether I want to take the train in or drive. Maybe we’ll go and have some more Korean food for lunch!

Today’s post is for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches but first I want to thank all of you for visiting the Control Freaks September Blog Tour yesterday and also for you wonderful comments. I’m so glad that you liked the projects! Moving right along this week Tui has given us this sketch to work with…

I knew what I wanted to use as soon as I saw this! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I used some Candlelight Christmas Designer Series Paper strips and some Champagne Glimmer Paper strips for the background. On top of that is a piece of Very Vanilla that I punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I Then embossed it with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The images and the greeting are from the No Peeking Stamp Set. The greeting is markered in Real Red, Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso and punched out with the Large Oval Punch. I used the same colors for the cute little snowman and cut him out with my Paper Snips. The little bird is stamped in Real Red and cut out too. They are all mounted to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the sketch and the stamp set is just too sweet! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card. Thank you so much for visiting and have a fantastic day! 🙂

Control Freaks September 2012 Tour!

Hello everyone and welcome to the September Control Freaks Tour featuring Fall projects! I’m so excited to be a part of this incredibly talented group. If you have arrived here from the tour you have just come from Jason Casper’s site. Didn’t he have some great projects?!?! This is my first tour with the Freaks, how awesome is that?!?! I’m a little excited, can you tell?!?!

The first project I have to show you is a card. Not just any card but a 3D window card that folds flat so that you can still mail it. The base of the card is Always Artichoke Card Stock. I used a piece of Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper to frame the window and I also used a piece down the right side. The images in the back are from the Spooky Bingo Bits Stamp Set and are stamped in Basic Gray, Basic Black and Early Espresso. I also cut one of the tombstones out and adhered it with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The image on the piece of Window Sheet is form the Toxic Treats Stamp Set and is stamped in Jet Black Staz-On. The little moon in the upper right corner is made with Tangerine Tango and the 1″ Circle Punch. For the greeting I used the Seasonal Sayings Stamp Set stamped in Tangerine Tango and backed with a piece of Basic Black.

The next project I have to show you is a Halloween Banner. The base of all of the banners is Basic Gray, that I flagged the ends on, with a piece of Crumb Cake that is embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The image on the first banner is from the Toxic Treats Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black on Pumpkin Pie and cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. Some Basic Black is cut out using the Paper Doily Large Sizzlits Die. I cut out a piece of Basic Gray, flagged the ends and used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack to pierce the edges. All of the pieces are adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The next three banners all have a rosette made with Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP and my Simply Scored. The letters are form the Broadsheet Alphabet Stamp Set and are stamped in Basic Black and punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. The flagged pieces of Pumpkin Pie are stamped with the Border Banter Stamp Set and are backed with pieces of Basic Black that are punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle punch and paper-pierced around the edges too.

The last project I have to show you is a wreath. I used the Autumn Accents Bigz Die to cut out all of the leaves from Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and More Mustard Card Stock. They are all embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used a hot glue gun and the Silicone Craft Sheet to attach them to the wreath. The greeting is from the Seasonal Sayings Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede. I flagged the ends and paper-pierced the top and bottom. The acorns are from the Wonderfall Stamp Set and are stamped in Soft Suede and adhered to the back of the greeting with some Sticky Strip. The greeting is then adhered to the leaves with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I hope that you enjoyed your stop here on the Control Freaks September Tour. Thanks so much for visiting. Now click below to hop on over to Yvette Ashe who is your next stop on the tour and see what fun projects she has in store for you! Enjoy!!

Bashful Saffron Baby Banners

Good morning everyone! How are we all doing today? I’m doing well, apart from the torrential rain that we got last night. The weather has been very odd this summer. The rain we get reminds me of Florida rain! This will be my first post for the day but there will be a surprise one later so be sure and come back tonight to see! This morning’s post is a card that I made for my mum to take to a baby shower. The base of the card is Bashful Blue Card Stock. I used the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of So Saffron for the background. The image and greeting are from the Baby Prints Stamp Set and are stamped in Bashful Blue on Whisper White. I used the 3/16″ Corner Rounder to round the corners on the Whisper White and the Bashful Blue that they are mounted to. They are both adhered to the card with Stampin’ DImensionals. The banners are made using the Bitty Banner Framelits Dies with Bashful Blue and are cut in half. They too are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of Whisper White Bakers Twine creates the string that they “hang” from. I was happy to have an excuse to use the stamp set and hope that you enjoyed today’s card. Thank you so very much for visiting and don’t forget to come back later tonight! Have a great day!

Mojo 259

Hello everyone and how are you today? Everything is good on my end, just plugging along. It’s supposed to rain here today for most of the day which we really can’t complain about because it has been really nice here for a while. Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week the lovely Julee Tilman has provided us with this sketch…

The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock that I stamped in Midnight Muse with the Distressed Dots Background Stamp. I used the retired Circle Scissor Pro to cut out a 3″ Circle of Summer Starfruit and pierced the edge with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The stamped image on top of that is from the Four Seasons Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals and punched out with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. I used the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch to punch out a piece of Patio Party Designer Series Paper to mount on top of that. They are all adhered to the card with SNAIL. A piece of Primrose Petals Card Stock is adhered next and on top of that is another piece of Patio Party DSP that is backed with a piece of Baja Breeze and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the I Am… Stamp Set from Convention 2012 and is stamped in Primrose Petals on Whisper White. I flagged the left side and on the right is a piece of Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon also with the ends flagged. A Vintage Faceted Designer Button with a piece of Summer Starfruit punched out with the circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, placed in the middle, with a Basic Jewels Pearl on top of that to finish off the card. The ribbon and button are adhered to the card with Mini Glue Dots. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. Thank you so much for checking in with me and have a wonderful day!

Paper Players #113

Hello everyone! I can’t believe it’s Monday already. Where did the weekend go?! Did you all have a good weekend? I had a nice Sunday, some shopping, some crafting. My aunts also arrived yesterday evening and we all had dinner together. I love having so much of my family around. My other cousins arrive soon, one on Wednesday and two more on Thursday. I’m really looking forward to having everyone all together it’s going to be so much fun!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. Nance has given us a clean and simple banner challenge this week…

I thought this would be an excellent opportunity to use the Merry Minis again! The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of River Rock, definitely one of my more neglected colors. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce the outline of the Decorative Label Punch and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I Punched out a piece of Raspberry Ripple with the Decorative Label Punch and pierced the oval in the center. The Christmas Cheer is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple on Very Vanilla. I pierced the top and bottom and flagged the ends before adhering it to the Decorative Label and that is then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The banners are cut from Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green. The Gumball Green banners are pierced along the top and they are all adhered to the card with SNAIL. I stamped the ornaments and trees from the Merry Minis Stamp Set in Gumball Green and Raspberry Ripple and punched them out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack. They too are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I’ so glad that I got the Merry Minis set, it has proven to be a versatile and fun addition to my cards. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card. Thank you very much for visiting and have a nice day!

Fab Friday 02

A good Sunday morning to you all. I hope that you had a nice Saturday. I was in Manhattan yesterday and I got to see some friends and do some shopping. My cousin, my friend Kim and I went to Korea Town and had some delicious Korean food. We also had the rehearsal dinner last night for my brother’s wedding. My gift was this amazing sign that he made me…

It is laser cut from 1/8″ Stainless Steel. I love it! He’s quite the crafty person just with a different medium. 🙂

Now on to today’s post that is for the Fab Friday Challenge #2. First I would like to thank the crew over there for choosing my card as one of their Fab Faves for the last challenge. You can check out my original post here and see the Fab Friday post here. This time the gang has given us a color challenge…

And what a soothing color combination it is. I wanted something clean and simple so I CASE’d a card from this month’s Demonstrator Magazine Stampin’ Success. The base of my card is Sahara Sand Card Stock. I used a piece of So Saffron cut to 5″ x 3 3/4″ and rounded the corners with the 1/2″ Circle Punch. I then stamped the dots from the Border Banter Stamp Set in So Saffron and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. The chevron stamp from the same set is stamped in Basic Gray on Basic Gray and flagged on the one end and mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I cut three strips of Basic Gray in 1/4″ x 4″ strips and adhered them to the card across the lower half with SNAIL. The greeting uses the the border from the Memorable Moments Stamp Set and the words from the From My Heart Stamp Set, both stamped in Basic Gray, and cut out with the Labels Collections Framelits Dies. Some more Stampin’ Dimensionals mount it to the card. I really love the colors combined with the simplicity of the layout, it really helps call you attention to that sweet greeting! I hope that you enjoyed today’s Fab Friday Color Challenge card. Thanks so much for checking in with me and have an awesome day! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew #7 Sketch Challenge

Hello all and a good Saturday morning to you. I had a very nice day with my cousin yesterday. We went shopping and had some Sonic for lunch. I got one of the balance ball chairs for my craft desk. I see a problem with it all ready though, it’s very bouncy and unknowingly I am bouncing on it all the time!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge. I mentioned last week that I was asked to be on the design team and this week is my first week participating as a designer! Thanks again to Pam for asking me to be a member. I’m so happy and can’t wait for the blog relaunch at the end of October. In the mean time why not head on over and post your card in this week’s challenge?! This week we have a sketch challenge…

I had a lot of different ideas as to what I was going to do but after I settled in the rosette the rest of the card just fell into place. The base of the card is Island Indigo Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. A piece of Very Vanilla I stamped with the Travel Journal Builder Wheel in Crumb Cake, the gears from the Clockworks Stamp Set in Basic Gray and the greeting from the Word Play Stamp Set stamped in Island Indigo creates the piece on the right. A piece of Island Indigo 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon and a Round Designer Ribbon Slide is placed just below the middle of the card and adhered around the back with some Sticky Strip before it is attached to the card. Two pieces of Island Indigo are flagged and attached to the upper left corner. The rosette is made with Fan Fair Designer Series Paper and my Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I stamped the pocket watch in Basic Gray and Island Indigo and then cut it out with my Paper Snips. The rosette and watch are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Island Indigo and Crumb Cake are one of my favorite color combinations and I love the Clockworks Stamp Set. I hope that you enjoyed my first card for the Paper Craft Crew as a design team member and that you will join this week’s challenge. I can’t wait to see what you do with the sketch! Thank you, as always, for stopping by and have a creative day! 🙂

CCMC 218

Happy Friday everyone! I’m extra happy today because I took the day off from work! My cousin and I are going to spend the day together. We are going to do some shopping and have some lunch, it will be a great day! This week I really loves me some Friday!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a color challenge…

When I first saw the colors I thought Halloween then I decided instead to go with a sort of longing for spring look. The base of my card is Tangerine Tango Card Stock. The stamped images are all from the Daydream Medallions Stamp Set and are stamped in Rich Razzleberry and Tangerine Tango. I used the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies to cut them all out in different sizes. I then mounted them all to each other with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then to a piece of Lucky Limeade that I also cut out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. Then I used the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on it before adhering it to the card with some SNAIL. The greeting is from the Perfectly Penned Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and cut out with my Paper Snips. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut out another piece of Lucky Limeade and cut off the top and bottom of the piece. The Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool is used to pierce the sides and then both pieces are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a little bling I added a Vintage Faceted Designer Button and a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper punched out with the 3/8″ Circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and adhered it to the card with some Mini Glue Dots in the center of the “flower”. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge. Thanks so much for checking in and have a great day! 😉

Freshly Made Sketches 1 Year Anniversary!

Good morning everyone and welcome to Thursday! I hope everyone had a nice day yesterday I certainly did. I got loads of birthday wishes here on my blog and on Facebook, some really nice cards and I ate way too much cake! And it’s not over yet, it continues on Saturday with a celebration in Manhattan with my friend Kim and my cousin Tracy. 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. They’re celebrating their one year anniversary. Congratulations to all the ladies over at Freshly Made Sketches on your first year. To celebrate they are allowing you go back through all this previous sketches and pick your favorite one. I chose number seven because I thought it was different and kind of neat…

The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I use the piece of designer series paper from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Pack and I cut two pieces of Early Espresso with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies for each side and adhered them to the card with SNAIL. The greeting is from the Keep Calm Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo. I stamped the image again in Cherry Cobbler and cut out the “and” and flagged the ends. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the greeting that is then mounted to a piece of Cherry Cobbler. The stamps are from the Postage Due Stamp Set, a favorite of mine, and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo and Early Espresso. I then punched them out with the Postage Stamp Punch. They are also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I thought the greeting and the stamps together was neat and I love the color combination.
