Mojo 262

Morning all! How are we doing today? I’m fine, made it through a dreary Monday here on Long Island. It’s supposed to be dreary until Thursday, the cold weather came all of a sudden and I’m not a fan! It is supposed to warm up next week so that a good thing!

Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week the talented Teresa Kline has provided us with this sketch…

I do love some flags! The base of my card is Summer Starfruit Card Stock. I used a piece of Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper for the background. The strip across the top is Cherry Cobbler that I embossed with the Retired Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flags are Gumball Green and are adhered along the bottom of the embossed strip with SNAIL. A piece of Summer Starfruit is cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlits Dies and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The image is from the Winter Wonderland Stamp Set and is heat embossed using Versa-Mark and Basic Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I colored the image in with Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, Blush Blossom and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Markers. The greeting is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I punched the piece out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and adhered it to the doily with SNAIL. The flag on the main part is Gumball Green and is stamped with an image from the Chock Full of Cheer Stamp Set also in Gumball Green. A Brushed Bronze Designer Button is adhered to the card with some Mini Glue Dots and I stamped the start from the Merry Mini Stamp Set in Summer Starfruit on Summer Starfruit and punched it out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack. It too is adhered with a Mini Glue Dot. When I color an image in I like to heat emboss it, it makes it easier to stay in the lines! I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. Thank you very much for checking in with me today. Have a super fun day!

Paper Players #116

Good morning, is it Monday already?! Where did the weekend go?! I would like to go back in time and find the genius that thought a five day work week and two days off was a good idea! LOL! It was gloomy and cold here most of the day yesterday and rained. It definitely feels like fall. I’m also not a fan of it getting dark so early and soon it will be dark at 4:00, bummer! Anyway, there is my morning rant, now on to more pleasant things!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week the lovely LeAnne has given us this interesting challenge…

I was thinking of using the Tea Shoppe set but I opted for a holiday theme instead. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used a piece of the flocked window sheet from the Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper. I punched a hole in both the card and the flocked window sheet with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. Some very carefully placed glue holds the flocked window sheet to the card base. I also used a piece of the Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP and my Simply Scored Tool to make a rosette which I adhered with some Mini Glue Dots inside the punched circle. The mug is from the Scentsational Season Stamp Set. It is stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with the Holiday Collection Framelits Dies. I adhered it to the rosette with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The greeting is from the Chock Full of Cheer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Soft Suede. I used the Extra Large Oval Punch to punch it out and backed it with a piece of Soft Suede that I cut out using the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. They are adhere to each other and to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the flocked window sheet and rosettes are my favorite embellishment. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Player Challenge card. Thank you so very much for checking in with me today, I hope that your day is amazing!

Indigo Limeade Woodgrain Preserved Thanks

Hello everyone! How are we all doing this Sunday morning? It’s was beautiful here yesterday for most of the day. I had a nice day in Manhattan and went to dinner last night with my parents and my daughter. It’s very fall like and chilly here this morning. How is the weather by you today. Are you missing the summer already like I am?

Today’s post is a thank you card that I made Leigh for my bracelet that I got back on my birthday. The base of the card is Island Indigo Card Stock. A piece of Early Espresso Core’dinations Card Stock is embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and sanded with the Stampin’ Sanding System. The greeting is from the Friendship Preserves Stamp Set and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple and cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies. To back it, I cut out a piece of Lucky Limeade and pierced the edges using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack. I used the Stampin’ Spritzer to spritz some Early Espresso Ink on it and then faux stitched the piercing with my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker. A piece of the Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper is adhered to the card and a piece of Island Indigo 3/8″ Ruffled ribbon on top before I mounted the stamped image and backing to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love paper-piercing and probably use it a little more than I should but I think it gives that subtle extra that sometimes you need. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thank you for visiting. Have a wonderful day! 🙂

Good morning! How are we all doing on this lovely Saturday? I’m just great! I’m off to Manhattan to see a friend and maybe wander around for a bit. It’s supposed to rain here later on and today so I’m going to enjoy as much outside as I can. Tomorrow will be my crafty day even though today is World Card Making Day! I will definitely make at least one later on, will you be making any today?!

Today’s post is for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This time we have a color challenge with some nice fall colors…

The base of my card starts with a piece of Early Espresso Card Stock and uses a background of Crumb Cake that is embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped the leaves from the French Foliage Stamp Set in More Mustard and Cajun Craze and cut them out with my Paper Snips. I used some Multipurpose Adhesive to adhere them to the card. The greeting is from the retired Hand Penned Holidays Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut it out. Using the Window Frames Collection Framelits I cut out a piece of Early Espresso to mount behind the label. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Festive Paper-Piercing Pack to pierce just the rounded edges and then adhered the whole thing to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do love the warm cozy feeling that the colors give you and the Hand Penned Holidays elegant script keeps it in my favorites. I hope that  you enjoyed this week’s Pals Paper Arts Challenge card. Thanks for popping by and have a crafty day!

CCMC 221 and Guest Designer!

A very good morning to you all! I have some exciting news to share with you today. I will be a guest designer on Create with Connie and Mary for the months of October and November!! I’m so happy to be a part of such a talented team for the next two months! I have been a fan of theirs since I started with Stampin’ Up! last year. What an honor! For my first week with the talented ladies we have a sketch…

I love the simplicity of it and I’m a big fan of flags! I wanted to keep the card clean and simple so I thought the best stamp to showcase would be the Heart of Christmas. The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Primrose Petals with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flags are created from strips of Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper. I stamped the Heart of Christmas Stamp in Lucky Limeade and again in Early Espresso. I cut out the center of the sentiment on the Early Espresso piece and mounted it to the Lucky Limeade piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It’s backed by a piece of Real Red and a piece of Early Espresso before being adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Heart of Christmas stamp is definitely one of my favorites out of the new Holiday Catalog. I hope that you enjoyed my Guest Designer card this week. Head on over to Create with Connie and Mary and post your card for this week’s challenge, I look forward to seeing what you do with the sketch! Thank you so much for visiting and have a wonderful day!

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge 10

Good morning! I hope that the weather is better by you than it is here, it rained most of the day yesterday and it’s still not great out this morning. I had a nice dinner with my friend Heather and her parents last night and then we listened to some music for a bit. I love my peeps!

Today’s post is for this weeks Paper Craft Crew Design Team Challenge. This week we have a sketch…

I was thinking Christmas when I first saw the sketch but since I’m loving Halloween this year I went with that instead. The base of my card is Basic Black Card Stock. I used the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on a piece of Crumb Cake for the background. A thin strip of Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper is adhered across the upper half. A piece of Tangerine Tango is cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies and pierced with the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack. The stamped images are from the Ghoulish Googlies Clear Mount Bundle. The bundle comes with the Stamp Set and the Designer Kit. I stamped the mummy in Crumb Cake and the bats in Basic Black and cut them out with my Paper Snips. They are all adhered to the label and card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used my Jewelry Tag Punch to punch out the Boo! from the Tiny Tags Clear Mount Stamp Set and also punched out a piece of Basic Black. They are attached to the card with a Neutrals Collection Brad. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped in Tangerine Tango and punched out with the Word Window Punch. It too is adhered to the card with Stampin Dimensionals. I love the Ghoulish Googlies Stamp Set, especially the little bats! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Paper Craft Crew Design Team Challenge card. Mojo 261

Morning everyone! Did we all make it through Monday ok? I had card class last night which is always a good time. My daughter comes with me and Sandy and the other ladies are awesome. We always have a good laugh, it’s my favorite Monday of the month! Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week we have this sketch provided by Julee Tilman…

I have been trying to incorporate some different materials into my cards lately and today I used some burlap. The base of the card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I kept the background simple, just a piece of Crumb Cake with the greeting stamped in Early Espresso from the Chock Full of Cheer Stamp Set in the upper right corner. The large Early Espresso circle is cut out with the retired Circle Scissor Pro. On top of that is a piece of Cherry Cobbler cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlits Die. The left side is cut off and it is adhered to the card with SNAIL. For the flagged element I used a piece of Island Indigo and some Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper. Next, I adhered a piece of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon around the back of the Crumb Cake piece with some Sticky Strip and adhered the whole panel to the card. I punched a piece of Island Indigo out with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and used the Circles #2 Bigz Die to cut out a piece of burlap and adhered it to the scallop circle with more Sticky Strip. The ornament, from the Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set, is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and I cut it out with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies. Both are then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the bow I used more Cherry Cobbler Seam Biding Ribbon and the fork method to tie it, a Mini Glue Dot holds it in place. I love the layers and the burlap gives it a little unexpected texture. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. Thanks you for spending some time with me today, I hope the rest of your day is great!

Paper Players #115 – All 9!

Good Monday morning! I hope that everyone had a nice weekend. I was in Manhattan most of the day yesterday visiting a bunch of friends and dropping off an order. I love Manhattan, especially when the weather cools down into the upper 60’s. My friend Kim and I had dinner at this restaurant called Nick’s on 94th and 2nd Ave. The food there is excellent, if you are ever in the area I definitely recommend it!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Anne Marie has given us this Tic-Tac-Toe challenge…

I looked at it for a while and just couldn’t decide which ones I wanted to do, so I did all nine! The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Baja Breeze with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for my background. The cake is from the Love & Laughter Stamp set and is stamped in Basic Gray on So Saffron. I cut it a little longer and wrapped a piece of Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon around the bottom before I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The candle is punched form the Cupcake Builder Punch from Basic Gray and Primrose Petals and adhered with 2-Way Glue. The flags are Basic Gray and Primrose Petals. The trees are from the Merry Minis Stamp Set, stamped in Primrose Petals and Basic Gray, and are punched out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack and adhered to the flags with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons are adhered to the flags with Mini Glue Dots and all have a Basic Jewels Rhinestone in the middle. The Happy Birthday greeting is from the Memorable Moments Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Gray. The Congratulations greeting is from the Love & Laughter Stamp Set and the Merry Christmas is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals. The “&” is from the Family Reunion Stamp Set and is also stamped in Primrose Petals. All of the greetings are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. So let’s see… Christmas, Sparkle/Bling, Ribbon, Buttons, Wedding, Yellow & Gray, Red & Blue, Element repeated in 3’s and Birthday… Check! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks packed Paper Players Challenge card. Thanks, as always, for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Fab Friday 3

Good morning peeps! How is the weekend going so far? Mine is going great! I made some cards yesterday and then went to see my friends. We had a nice time and celebrated Brian’s birthday. Heather made some amazing little cupcakes and there were some great brownies too!

Today’s post is for the Fab Friday Challenge. This time we have a sketch…

I am feeling the fall weather creep up on us so I went with a fall themed card. The base of the card is Island Indigo Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Lucky Limeade with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhere it to the card with SNAIL. The flagged banners are cut from the Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper and are also adhere with SNAIL. I used the Autumn Accents Bigz Die to cut out the large leaf from a piece of Crumb Cake. My Stamp-a-ma-jig is used to get the image from Tweet Leaves, stamped in Early Espresso, perfectly centered on the cutout. The greeting is from the Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount both the leaf and the greeting to the card. I hope you enjoyed my card f0r Fab Friday Challenge this time. Freshly Made Sketches #54

Hello everyone! It’s Thursday and that means only one more day until the weekend! We can do it, I know we can! LOL! Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. This week Jennifer T. has provided us with this sketch…

I have been wanting to use the Delightful Decorations Stamp Set that I just recently got and I thought this would be the perfect sketch! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I took a piece of Sahara Sand and punched out two pieces of card stock with the Ornament Punch. I adhered them to the Sahara Sand with temporary adhesive and used the Stampin’ Spritzer filled with a mixture of Early Espresso Re-Inker, water and alcohol to mist over it. After it dried I removed the ornaments and had the neat masked effect that you see on the card. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the edges. A piece of Very Vanilla is randomly stamped with the pine needles from the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set in Gumball Green. I adhered it to the spritzed piece with Snail and used some Sticky Strip to attach a piece of Gumball Green 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the back. The piece is then mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the ornament and the merry christmas from the Delightful Decorations Stamp Set in Primrose Petals and punched them out with the Ornament Punch and the 3/4″ Circle Punch. They too are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a few Basic Jewels Pearls, whenever I use pearls I always think of Ann Schach! I really like the masking technique and the color combination. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card. Thank you so very much for stopping by and have a fun day!
