Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge 230 & Sneak Peek

Woo hoo! It’s Friday! I’m always doing the happy dance on Friday! Last night I made some Hummus and some Fudge. I know what you are thinking… what an odd combination. Well, if you ate them together I would think it would be a little nasty. The hummus is the appetizer and the fudge (if it makes it through today) is for desert. I have sampled both and they are good but I am wanting some more of the fudge! 🙂

Today’s post is from this weeks Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a color challenge…

CCMC 230

A very simple color combination and one with a little bling! The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used the new Ovals Collection Framelits Dies* to cut out a two pieces of Very Vanilla, one with the scalloped edge, and two pieces of Champagne Glimmer Paper. All of the pieces of Very Vanilla are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the Glimmer Paper is adhered with SNAIL. The Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack* and Paper-Piercing Tool are used to piece around the edges of the Very Vanilla pieces. I stamped the Merry Christmas from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler and flagged the ends. For the piercing on that I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack. Even with all of it’s layers and glitz it was a very simple card to make. I have to remember to order some Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, the Merry Christmas would have looked rich in that. Did you enjoy today’s sneak peek? What has been you favorite peek so far? Let me know by leaving a comment. I hope that you liked this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge card. Thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing Friday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #20 & Sneak Peek

Good morning peeps! This week is just flying by isn’t it?! I’m falling behind on my to do list and a little bit of panic is setting in. I’ll try to catch up some tomorrow night. How are the holidays coming along for you? Are you all on schedule? My daughter did come over tonight and put the tree up for me. Now some decorations and that will be all done! That will put the cap on my festive holiday needs!

Today’s post is for my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This time around we have a sketch…

PCCCS020-Sketch

It has a flag on it and some brads, I’m already a fan! The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. I used the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* on a piece of Sahara Sand for my background. I have been using Sahara Sand a lot more lately, it makes a great substitute for Crumb Cake or Very Vanilla. The main stamped image is from the Vintage Verses Stamp Set** and is stamped in Midnight Muse on Very Vanilla. I used the 3/16″ Corner Rounder on it and the piece of Midnight Muse that I backed it with. A piece of Raspberry Ripple is punched out with the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and mounted behind the stamped image. I pierced three holes in it and put three Metallic 3/16″ Brads through it. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. The flagged piece is Raspberry Ripple and adhered with SNAIL. The flower image is from the Madison Avenue Stamp Set** and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple. The Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies are used to cut it out and I backed it with a piece of Raspberry Ripple that I punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. Another Metallic Brad holds them together and a Stampin’ Dimensional adheres it to the card. I love the colors together and I think this would even make a great masculine card. The flower is more a hint that an actual flower and the colors bright but subtle at the same time thanks to the Sahara Sand. I’m in love with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder, it’s so versatile! I hope that you enjoyed you little sneak peek and my Paper Craft Crew Design Team Crew card for this week. Hop on over to the site and check out what the other designers have come up with and post one of yours for us to take a look at. Thank you for stopping by and I hope that you have a great day!

Paper Players #125 & Sneak Peek

And into another week we go! Happy Monday! I have a ton of stuff to do this week and I’m hoping to get to all of it. Isn’t it funny how busy the Holidays really are?! Is everything kicking into high gear for you too? I spent the afternoon in Manhattan yesterday seeing some friends and it was rainy but for some reason I don’t really mind it when I’m in the city.

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players. Nance has given us a color challenge…

Paper Players #125

Pool Party and Cherry Cobbler make for a nice color combo when paired with a neutral don’t you think? The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I took a piece of Pool Party and stamped it with the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set in Pool Party for a frosty tone-on-tone effect. The new punch and stamp set from Sale-A-Bration are used to make the backgrounds for the ornaments. I stamped the images from the Pretty Petites Stamp Set** in Cherry Cobbler and punched them out with the Petite Curly Label Punch**. The ornaments are from the Merry Minis Stamp set and are Stamped in Pool Party and punched out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack. Both are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used a piece of Cherry Cobbler to back it and that too is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do like the colors together and the simplicity of the card is fun too. I hope that you enjoyed you little sneak peek and my Paper Players Challenge card for this week. Thank you very much for your visit and I hope that you have a good Monday!

Fab Friday 08 & Big Sneak Peek!

Sunday… how fast you show up! LOL! I hope that all of you had a nice day yesterday. I crafted my little fingers off and got almost all of my stuff done! I love a productive day, plus it was rainy and cloudy here all day so it was the perfect day to just stay inside. So… today I have a whole load of sneak peeks for you from the Spring Catalog and Sale-A-Bration! Leave a comment and let me know what you think of the new items!

Without further ado today’s post if for the Fab Friday Challenge. This time we have a color challenge that contains five colors…

Fab Friday Color 08

I don’t think I have seen a five color challenge before. I definitely had to think about this for a bit. The base of my card is Gumball Green Card Stock. For the background I embossed a piece of Real Red with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The piece of ribbon is Pool Party 1/4″ Satin Ribbon** and is adhered around the back with Sticky Strip. I cut out a piece of Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper** with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. Next up we have some flags that are stamped in Primrose Petals form the Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set* and cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies*. The super cool silver caps are Soda Pop Tops* and I love them! For the images inside I stamped the circle in Gumball Green and the balloon in Real Red from the Collage Curios Stamp Set* and punched them out with the 1″ Circle Punch. I adhered the caps to the card with Mini Glue Dots. The greeting is from the That’s the Ticket Stamp Set* and is stamped in Primrose Petals and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I told you that was a lot of sneak peeks! I can’t even narrow down a favorite they are all so great! I’m partial to the Soda Pop Tops*, I think they are such a clever and different embellishment. I hope that you enjoyed your big look into the Spring and Sale-A-Bration Catalogs and my Fab Friday card too! Thank you, as always, for paying me a visit! I’ll have a lot more sneak peeks for you in the coming weeks to get you all ready for January! Have a great day! 🙂

Create with Connie and Mary 229

Good morning everyone! Yeah, it’s Friday! My favorite day of the week. What do you all have planned for this weekend? I have a ton of crafting to do, still want to get my Christmas cards out this weekend. I’m off to Manhattan on Sunday to see some peeps and feed the frog. Fingers crossed that I get it all done! 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary. I’m not gonna lie, it was little weird not posting on Wednesday night. It’s my first week back as a player and we have a fun funky sketch to work with…

CCMC 229

I wanted to do something monochromatic so I went with Cherry Cobbler as my main color. And to that the base of the card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. For the background I stamped a piece of Very Vanilla with the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler in a pattern to make my own Designer Series Paper! I used two pieces of paper from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack for the strips across the lower half of the card. The ornament is from the Delightful Decorations Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and punched out with the Ornament Punch. I stamped the greeting in Cherry Cobbler from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and punched it out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. Both are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The ornament gets a heavy dose of bling from some Basic Jewels Rhinestones. I’m really happy with the way the card turned out and I love the Snowflake Soiree background. I hope that you enjoyed and are a little inspired by my Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge card for this week. Thank you for stopping by and I hope that you have an awesome Friday!

Stylin’ Stampin’ Squad Bog Hop!

Blog Hop Badges December 2012

Hello everyone and welcome to this month’s Stylin’ Stampin’ Squad Blog Hop. Most likely you have arrived here from Terry Blais’ Blog, didn’t she have some great projects?! This is my first time out with these talented ladies and I hope that you enjoy my projects. This month we have a holiday theme and I have a card and a 3D project for you today.

First up is the card that I CASE’d it from Stampin’ Success. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I stamped the greeting from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set in Early Espresso. The border that is stamped across the bottom in Crumb Cake is from the Make a Mitten Stamp Set. All of the paper is from the Festival of Prints Designer Series paper Stack, cut into strips and some ends are flagged. The mittens are punched out from Island Indigo and Cherry Cobbler with the Mitten Builder Punch. The reindeer are from the Make a Mitten Set and are stamped in Early Espresso. I really like the simplicity of the card and it’s a great way to use some of your scraps of DSP.

IMG_2061

Next up we have the 3D project. I was in one of the local craft stores and I saw this small printer’s tray. I thought it would be great to fill with some Stampin’ Up! goodies to make a little Christmas display. All of the interior of the tray is lined with Crumb Cake Card Stock that I embossed with the Chevron Textured impressions Embossing Folder. They are adhered to the inside with Sticky Strip. The gingerbread men and the mug are from the Scentsational Season Stamp Set and are stamped in Soft Suede and Island Indigo. I cut them out with the Holiday Collection Framelits Dies and adhered them with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. In the other side we have a piece of Island Indigo that I punched the edge with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. A piece of Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin Ribbon is adhered around the back with Sticky Strip. I punched a piece of Soft Suede with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and embossed it with the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A set of mittens in Island Indigo and Raspberry Ripple are punched out with the Mitten Builder Punch and the reindeer is from the Make a Mitten Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso. They are all adhered together and the the tray with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is form the More Merry Messages and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple on Very Vanilla and the corners rounded with the 3/16″ Corner Rounder. I backed it with a piece of Raspberry Ripple and adhered it with some more Stmapin’ Dimensionals. I love this and will definitely make some more to give as gifts. How cute would this be hanging up for the holidays?!

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge 19

Yeah! It’s Wednesday and that means we are halfway to the weekend! How are you all doing so far? I’m doing ok, I’ll be better of course later because my pre-order from the new Spring Catalog will be in my hands! I can’t wait to play! I’ll have some sneak peeks for you and I’m looking forward to sharing them with you in the coming weeks.

Today’s post is for my Design Team card for the Paper Craft Crew. This week we have a sketch and/or color challenge. I opted to do the sketch part…

PCCCS019-Sketch

I have been a little obsessed of late with the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die. I love it made to look like a manila envelope. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. The top half of the background is a piece of paper from the Comfort CafĂ© Designer Series Paper. The bottom is created with a piece of Pool Party that I cut with the Large Scallop Edgelits Die and then embossed with the Delicate Details Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A piece of “Vintage” Very Vanilla 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon conceals the seam. I used the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die to cut out a piece of Very Vanilla and adhered the one side and the flap to make the tiny manila envelope. The image stamped on it is from the Flowering Flourishes Stamp Set and is inked in Pool Party. I stamped the butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set in Pool Part on Pool Party and punched it out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. A thin piece of Sticky Strip holds it to the envelope and some Basic Jewels Pearls make the body. The greeting is from the Made for You Stamp Set and is stamped in Pool Party. The final touch is a piece of Pool Party that I flagged and adhered in the upper left of the envelope. I love the fact that you can fit a gift card inside the envelope as you can see in the second picture. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch card. Thank you for visiting with me today and I hope you have a very nice Wednesday!

Mojo 270

Hello peeps! How are we all doing today? I’m pretty good, just beginning to muddle through the week. I have some fun news to share with you today. Have you seen the gorgeous ornament on the front of the Holiday Catalog… of course you have! Well, I love it but it takes more than a few runs through the Big Shot to make the pieces to put it together. So here is the fun news part. Someone that is very intelligent at the Stampin’ Up! home office has decided to sell the ornament as a kit! That’s right! You can purchase the kit with enough supplies to make 10, yes 10 of those beautiful ornaments! Here are the specifics:

Told you that was some fun news! Now for today’s post which is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week have a nice simple sketch from Carole Burrage…

Mojo270

I was thinking of replacing the hearts with some ornaments but I decided to keep them. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock and to that I have added a piece from the Festival of Prints Designer Paper Stack. I used the Large Scallop Edgelit to cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler and adhered a piece of Crumb Cake to it. Some Lucky Limeade 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon is adhered around the back with Sticky Strip across the piece of Cherry Cobbler. The greeting is form the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Versa-Mark and heat embossed with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce the edges and adhered it to a piece of Lucky Limeade before adhering it to the card. The two larger hearts are stamped in Lucky Limeade and Cherry Cobbler with stamps from the Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set. I used the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies to cut them out. The smaller heart image is from the Love & Laughter Stamp Set and is stamped in Crumb Cake and punched out with the Small Heart Punch. They are all adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I like the hearts on the Christmas card a lot more than I thought I would and I’m a big fan of the DSP. I hope that you liked my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. Thank for coming and taking a look and I hope that you have a great day!

Paper Players #124

Ahh… Monday… back again I see! I think I say it every Monday but the weekend goes way too fast! I did have a good weekend and I hope that you did too. I had a nice day yesterday with lots of crafting, always my favorite way to spend a Sunday.

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week the talented Ann has a snowmen challenge for us…

Paper Players #124

I was going to use either Snow Much Fun or Warmest Winter Wishes but as I was perusing my stamps I was happy to discover that I had purchased (and totally forgot about) Stylin’ Snowfolk. I love snowmen and at one time I had a Christmas tree full of them. My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped the greeting from the Curly Cute Stamp Set in Raspberry Ripple along the bottom of the card base. The images are all from the Stylin’ Snowfolk Stamp Set. The body of the snowman is stamped in Basic Gray. I stamped his hat and bow-tie in Basic Black. The bird is markered in Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit and Raspberry Ripple. I stamped the tree in Lucky Limeade and all of those elements are cut out with my Paper Snips. The snowflakes are stamped in Island Indigo and punched out with the 1/2″ Circle Punch, I added some Basic Jewels Rhinestones for a little sparkle. The Labels Collection Framelits Dies are used to cut out a piece of Whisper White and a piece of Island Indigo. Before I adhered all of the elements to the white label I stamped his arms in Soft Suede. The Island Indigo label is pierced around the edge with the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. A piece of Silver Glimmer paper is partially cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits and adhered to the bottom of the white label. I really like my little snowman and hope that you enjoy him too. Thank you for coming by to see my Paper Players Challenge card for this week. I hope you have a very nice day!

Cherry Crumb Chevron Tree

Good morning! How is your weekend going so far? Mine seems to by moving along at light speed like it usually does. On a very happy note I did place my Spring Catalog pre-order this morning so I will have some neat sneak peeks to share with you in the coming weeks. Can you believe that the Spring Catalog is almost here?! This year has really gone fast for me, how about you guys?

For today’s post I have a card for you that I made the day after Thanksgiving, or Chevron Friday as I refer to it! The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I stamped some snowflakes from the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set in Early Espresso randomly on the base. The chevrons are created with a piece from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack and the First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper. I alternated them on either side and a thin piece of Early Espresso is adhered along the middle. I cut out a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit and adhered that on the left. The greeting is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso and I flagged the one end. It’s adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the abstract tree look and I love the colors together. I hope that you are inspired by today’s card to make some unusual holiday cards of you own. Thank you for checking in with me and I hope that you have a nice Sunday!
