Create with Connie and Mary 259 & Sneak Peek

Hi everyone! How’s it going today? It’s going pretty good over here. Yesterday was gorgeous, a little hot but a beautiful sunny day. I took Winston to work with me yesterday and my friend Danielle’s sister Stephanie brought their dog Dexter up. Winston and Dexter got along quite well, they played and Winston was nice and shared his toys and his water with Dexter. It was like a ghost town at work so it was nice to have the extra company.

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary Sketch 259…

CCMC 259

Fun and different wouldn’t you agree? The base of today’s card is So Saffron Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the new Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the 2013 Holiday Catalog. The strip across the middle is a piece of Bermuda Bay that I cut both sides of with the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies. The half circle is made using the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die from So Saffron. The images are all from the Around the World Stamp Set and are stamped in Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay and So Saffron. I used the 1 1/4″ Circle punch, Hexagon Punch and Paper Snips to cut them out and some Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them to the card. I like the bold Bermuda Bay with the subtle So Saffron and Soft Suede together. Thanks for coming by to see my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s sketch challenge. Have a great Saturday! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 162

Happy Friday everyone! I hope that you came through the July 4th Holiday unscathed! It was literally like a war zone in my area. I understand the pretty fireworks but just the ones that sound like bombs going off are a little pointless don’t you think? I am going to attempt to take Winston to work with me today. He had a bad night last night and he needs some extra love today.

On a fun note a fellow demonstrator in Canada has a feature on her blog that she calls My Crafty Friends Mondays and she has included one of my cards and a few from other demos. You can take a look at her post here. Thank you Josée!

Today I have my post for this week’s Pals Paper Arts, yes they are back to a weekly challenge over at Pals! First I want to thank the amazing Mary Fish for choosing my card in the last challenge. You can see my original post here and the Pals post here. This week we have a color challenge that is just in time for the 4th…

PPA 162

Even though it’s the day after I went with a patriotic theme for my card. The base is Pacific Point Card Stock. I took a piece of Crumb Cake and used the new Chevron Border Punch to punch the left edge. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the base. A piece of Real Red is reverse flagged and I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out the circle towards the top. The star is from the Simply Stars Stamp Set and is stamped in Pacific Point. I happened to come across a “Vinatge” Star Punch and it punches out the star perfectly! A piece of Silver Glimmer Paper is cut in a strip across the top and three stars are punched out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack (that is a carryover from the 2012 Holiday Catalog). The greeting is from the Happy Hour Stamp Set and is punched out with the Large Oval Punch. I’m seriously loving the new Chevron Border Punch and can’t wait to use the punched pieces on a card! Thank you very much for coming by to see my Pals Paper Arts card for this week’s color challenge. I hope you have a fantastic Friday!

Mojo 300 & Sneak Peek!

Hello and happy July 4th! It’s a little overcast here this morning but I think they said it’s supposed to clear up later. I have two BBQ’s to go to today and I’m looking forward to seeing friends and having some yummy food! What are all of you up to?

Today I have my post for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 300. WOW! 300 sketches, that’s a lot! I have participated in 80 of those 300, that’s a lot too! This week’s sketch is provided by Julee Tilman…

Mojo300

I think I have said it before but I love all of the layers in the Mojo sketches! My card starts off with a base of Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock. I used a piece of the Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper for the first layer of the background and a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe that is flagged on the bottom for the next. The circle of Pistachio Pudding is cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies and embossed with the new Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the 2013 Holiday Catalog. For the greeting I used the One In a Million Stamp Set, pierced around the edges and backed it with a piece of Baked Brown Sugar. A Subtles Designer Series Button has some Linen Thread threaded through the holes and is adhered to a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe that is also flagged. Some more Crisp Cantaloupe is cut out with the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit and popped up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the new Pretty Print Embossing Folder, it goes so well with the Venetian Romance DSP paper that I picked! Thanks for coming by to see my Mojo Monday Sketch challenge card for their 300th sketch! Here’s to the next 300! Have a safe and happy 4th! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 49

Welcome to Wednesday! It was gloomy here most of the day yesterday again. I think they said that the rain is finally going to stop for the most part on Thursday which will be good since it’s a holiday and it’s sunny this morning! I love an occasional mid weekish holiday, don’t you? I can’t believe that in two weeks I will be leaving for Convention! I have a ton of stuff to do before I go but I’m so excited to get there!

Today’s post – Paper Craft Crew Design Team Sketch…

PCCCS049-7-03-2013

An interesting little sketch wouldn’t you say?! The base of my card is Basic Gray Card Stock. The background is a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Basic Gray. On the left is a piece of Crushed Curry that I cut with the Large Scallop Edgelits Die. I adhered a piece of Raspberry Ripple 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the back before adhering it to the card. Some more Basic Gray is cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies and pierced around the edge with the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The label and the buttons are from the Notable Notions Stamp Set and are stamped in Crushed Curry. The label is cut out with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies and the buttons are punched out with the 1/2″ Circle Punch. The flower is from the Morning Meadow Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple. I used the coordinating Pansy Punch to punch it out. In the middle is a greeting from the A Round Array Stamp Set that is punched out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. Before I adhered the whole thing to the card I cut a Tea Lace Paper Doily in half and adhered it to the card. I really love the color combination, I think it’s warm and bright at the same time. Thanks for visiting me today to see my Paper Craft Crew Design Team Sketch Challenge card. SUO Challenges 74

Hello, yesterday wasn’t too bad for a Monday. It was gloomy here as it has been for quite a while. It rains and then pours and then stops. I would like another day like Saturday, sunny and nice, soon please! How is everything by you? Hope it’s all good!

Today’s post is my card for the SUO Challenges Design Team. This time around we were asked to use our favorite accessory. I have two actually, I love Punches and Framelits! The idea for today’s card came from one that I saw in a magazine. I love to see if I can CASE a card using my Stampin’ Up! goodies. Who doesn’t like a challenge?! There are a lot of products on this card so here we go!

The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock and for the background I used a piece of paper from the Subtles Collection Designer Series Paper Pack. The frame is a piece of Vanilla Coaster Board that I cut the bottom with the Labels Collection Framelits and the inside of the frame with the Squares Collection Framelits. I stamped it in Soft Sky with the Dictionary Background Stamp and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. In the middle we have a piece of Soft Sky that is stamped with the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set and the center is cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. A piece of Very Vanilla is stamped with the Woodgrain Background Stamp and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch, the middle is punched out with the Large Oval Punch. The tag is punched out with the Ticket Builder Duo Punch and stamped with this month’s Paper Pumpkin Stamp. A piece of Linen Thread is tied in a bow and also threaded through the two Naturals Designer Buttons. The butterfly that is punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch is stamped with the Travel Journal Builder Wheel and the Bitty Butterfly Punch is used to punch out a piece of Baked Brown Sugar. For the greeting I used the Pennant Parade Stamp Set, the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch and a piece of Blushing Bride that is cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit. Across the bottom I stamped an image from the Creative Elements Stamp Set in Baked Brown Sugar. Finally, a “Vintage” Binder Clip is clipped to the top of the label. Phew! Like I said a lot of products but I love the fun random collage look of the card and the subtle mix of colors is different! Thank you so very much for coming by to see my SUO Challenges Design Team card. I always appreciate your visits and love your comments! Head on over to the blog to see the favorites that the rest of the design team have used and enter your card in the gallery to show us yours! I hope you have an inspiringly different day! 🙂

Paper Players 152

And there goes another weekend, just flying by! I had a great weekend and I hope that you did too! Manhattan, Fire Island, friends and fun… who could ask for more?! It’s Monday and we are back to Paper Players on Monday’s. I will really miss being a Guest Designer on the blog. They really are some of the nicest ladies I have had the pleasure to work with! Enough whining! LOL! On to the post!

Today’s post – Paper Players 152, Tic-Tac-Toe from LeAnne…

Paper Players #152 Tic-Tac-Toe 6-30-2013

I love the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! Do we all remember when I was fool enough to do the whole board?!?! Well, this time I choose the middle row down, Blue, Bling & Friendship. The base for my card is Sahara Sand Card Stock. I cut out some flags form the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper, a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and a piece of Costal Cabana. The greeting consists of a circle that I punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, a piece of Basic Black that I cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit and I used the Label Love Stamp Set and the Artisan Label Punch for the actual greeting. The chevrons going to the right are punched out using the Hexagon Punch, a piece of Costal Cabana 1″ wide is marked off on the back at 1/4″ intervals and punched. Some Basic Jewels Rhinestones randomly placed complete the bling! Thank you very much for coming by to see my Paper Players card for this week’s Tic-Tac-Toe challenge from LeAnne. You should head on over to the blog to see what the clever ladies have for inspiration! I hope that you have a great Monday!

Freshly Made Sketches 92

Good morning! I’m a little late with my post because I was out a little late last night! I got most of what I wanted to accomplish done yesterday and had a great time visiting my friends on Fire Island! It turned out to be a very nice day and I’m looking forward to doing it again! How was your Saturday?

Today’s post – Freshly Made Sketches 92, a sketch from Jen B….

Freshly Made Sketches #92

I decided that I wanted a super clean and simple card and this is what I came up with. The base of the card Real Red Card Stock. I used a piece of Whisper White for the background and adhered a piece of the I Am Me Designer Series Paper on the left. For my curved line used a piece of Soft Suede. The stamps on the right are from the Wanderlust Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Soft Suede. The greeting is cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a few red sequins to the map for a little shine. You cold also used the sequins as placeholders on the map to show where you have already been adventurers! Thank you for stopping by to see my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. I hope you all have a very nice Sunday!

Create with Connie and Mary 258

Yeah, it’s the weekend peeps! And the upcoming week is a 4 day week because of July 4th. Winston is not looking forward to that holiday at all. I need to get him a Thunder Shirt this weekend, my poor Winnie. I’m off to Manhattan and the Fire Island today. Busy but fun and that’s always a good way to start a weekend. What are you all up to?

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary 258 colors…

CCMC 258

Before I get to my card today I want to thank the lovely ladies for choosing my card as one of their top three picks for last week’s sketch challenge! You can see my original post here and the Create with Connie and Mary post here. For today’s card I started off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Daffodil Delight and across the bottom, a piece of Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper. I punched out a piece of Night of Navy with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and used the Small Heart Punch to punch out a negative of the heart. The greeting is from the Banner Greetings Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Melon Mambo. The “washi tape” is from the Tape It Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy. Underneath that is a flower from the Secret Garden Stamp Set that is cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits. The butterfly is from the Best of Butterflies Stamp Set and is punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. Some Basic Jewels Rhinestones give the card a little sparkle. Thanks for visiting me today to see my Create with Connie and Mary color challenge card for this week. Have a great Saturday!

Fab Friday 21

Are you ready… here we go… it’s FRIDAY!!!! Wee!! Yesterday turned out to be a nice day for the golf outing. It rained a little in the middle of the day but cleared up so the golfers could finish. Dinner was great! As soon as we finished packing up it started to pour, glad it waited! I’m off to Manhattan tomorrow morning to see my friend Kim and then to Fire Island to visit some friends. A busy weekend, but a fun one.

Today’s post is my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Challenge. This time around we have a fun sketch for you…

Fab Fri 21 Sketch 6-28-2013

Do you see what I see… a frame! We all know that I’m slightly obsessed with frames lately! The base of my card is Sahara Sand Card Stock. The middle of my frame is cut out with the Squares Collection Framelits Dies and filled with a piece of paper from the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper Pack. Before I adhered it to the card I put a pice of Brushed Gold behind it that I punched out with the Artisan Label Punch. The arrow, that I cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits, is also Brushed Gold. The greeting and the bird are from the Morning Meadow Host(ess) Stamp Set. I stamped the greeting in Basic Black and heat embossed it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut it out. The bird is also heat embossed in gold and cut out with my Paper Snips. I love the black, vanilla and gold together with the sahara, and the frame… well you know how I feel about that! Thanks very much for coming by to see my Fab Friday Design Team card for the Sketch challenge. Stop by the Fab Friday blog and see what other creations the talented designers have for you and enter your card in the gallery. Maybe you can be a Fab Fave and grab our new badge! Have a great Friday! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 161

Today is Thursday and it promises to be a very long Thursday for me. We have the golf outing at work today and they are calling for rain. That will not be good at all. I will be there from 8:00am until 11:00pm, hopefully it won’t rain. Other that that things are good, I went into Manhattan last night and I was home by 11:00, not too bad. How are things going by you?

Today’s post – Pals Paper Arts 161, a sketch…

PPA 161

I’m just going to make this entry by a few hours. I was a little puzzled when I first looked at the sketch but I like the way the card turned out a lot! The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. The background is made up of two pieces of paper from the Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper Pack. In the center is a piece of Smokey Slate that is adhered with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the Hexagon Punch to punch out two pieces of Crushed Curry and the greeting that is form the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set. The large bee is from the Backyard Basics Stamp Set and is cut out with the Backyard Basics Framelits Dies. I like the hexagons with the bee image, they are sized perfectly for each other. Thanks for dropping by to see my Pals Paper Arts card for their sketch challenge. I hope that today is a speedy one! 🙂
