Super clean and simple! The base of my card is Early Espresso. The paper in the middle is Soho Subway Designer Series Paper* and I added some Crisp Cantaloupe* that is cut with the Finishing Touches Edgelit Dies. For the large flagged piece, some more Crisp Cantaloupe* embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The thanks is from the ABC & 123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers Stamp Set* and I stamped it a little imperfect go a little better with the Lovely Labels Stamp* that is punched out with the Artisan Label Punch*. Paper Craft Crew #40 & Sneak Peek

Yeah, Wednesday! Halfway there to my Friday! How are you today? I’m pretty good. I went to my friends Brian & Kim’s house for dinner last night. We had vegetarian tacos that were yummy. I got to see the little angels too! It was a very nice day here yesterday and is supposed to be nice for the next ten days! Ahh, finally some warmer weather.

Today’s post – Paper Craft Crew Sketch #40…

I’m having so much fun playing with my new goodies! I hope that you are enjoying your sneak peeks too! The base of my card is Pear Pizzaz and the background and the pieces of paper cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits are all from the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper Pack*. A Delicate Doily is behind the flower that is from the Happy Flowers Host(ess) Stamp Set*. The large flower is cut out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits and the center is punched out with the  1 1/4″ Circle Punch. The stem is stamped on the DSP in Pear Pizzaz and the butterfly is from the Best of Butterflies Stamp Set, stamped in Night of Navy and punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. The greeting is from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy. Some Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and some Rhinestones finish off the card. Mojo 291 & Sneak Peek

Morning and welcome to thank god Monday is over! That was not the best day in recent memory. It was a little dreary here and rained a little on and off all day. The base of my card is Early Espresso and the background is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe* that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, no tabs. The paper is from the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper Pack* which I am loving! Some Early Espresso and Soft Sky cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits and one paper-pierced are up next. The images are from the Postage Collection Stamp Set*, it’s like a build your own postage stamp set. Love it! There are so many great new goodies in the catalog I can’t wait for you to see it! Artisan Butterfly Poppy Thanks

Monday… here we go again! How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was was very nice. Yesterday I crafted and had some lunch with my friend Maureen and the child. I did a little errand running and some laundry. It was a beautiful day here yesterday too, sunny and warm. A pretty good day all around I must say.

Every once in a while I rummage through my scrap pile (which is quite large) and see if I can use anything in there to make a card. Well, today that’s how this card started. I had the base with the Print Poetry Stack Designer Series Paper on it and I went from there. I markered the the Pleasant Poppies Background Stamp in Calypso Coral and Gumball Green and backed it with some Gumball Green. The butterfly is form the Best of Butterflies 25th Anniversary Stamp Set. The greeting is backed with a stamp from the Lovely Labels Stamp Set*, punched out with the Artisan Label Punch*, the middle is from the A Fitting Occasion Stamp Set. Some ribbon and a new Very Vintage Designer Button* with some Bakers Twine finishes off the card. I hope you enjoyed my scrap pile inspired card for today. Paper Players #143 :-)

Hello and happy Sunday! How is the weekend so far? Mine is great! I had a lovely day in Manhattan with my friend Kim yesterday. We had Starbucks for breakfast and then headed downtown. A stop at the Roasting Plant Coffee shop (I really drink a lot of coffee, about 6 – 8 cups a day!) and then later on some delicious Mediterranean food just like I wanted. As an added bonus I got to drive home with the top down, I didn’t even mind the traffic! I love a Saturday like that! Since today is Sunday that means it’s time for the Paper Players!

I finally got to play with some of my new goodies last night and this is what I came up with. The base of my card is Summer Starfruit. A strip of Soho Subway Designer Series Paper* is backed with some Early Espresso and goes across the middle. The flagged pieces are Early Espresso, Island Indigo and Crisp Cantaloupe*. A piece of Soft Sky* and a piece of Very Vanilla are cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits and the Soft Sky one is pierced around the edge. The main greeting is from the Make a Wish Stamp set, the happy birthday is from the Label Love Stamp Set* and is punched out with the Artisan Label Punch*. Freshly Made Sketches #83

Good day! How are you doing? I’m ok, that was a long day yesterday. I got about 4 1/2 hours of sleep and I’m pooped! The weather was nice for about two hours and then we were back to it feeling like February! I got my Sneak Peek 2014 Catalog order in and my goodies will be here Friday! Woo hoo! That means I can play over the weekend. I can’t wait! There is so much in the new catalog that I love, I will miss the retiring supplies and stamp sets but it happens every year and I’m used to it by now.

I’m really liking the Epic Day This and That products. They have some great colors and patterns. The base of my card is Crumb Cake with a piece of Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper for the background. Across the middle is a piece of Whisper White with some Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon. Some Basic Gray is embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped off the words on a diagonal from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set in Crumb Cake. The butterflies are from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and are punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. I used my Bone Folder and the Stampin’ Pierce Mat to curve the wings. Well, I see we all made through Monday in one piece, and that’s always a good thing! My Monday was on the quiet side, how about you? So tomorrow holds a little excitement for us Stampin’ Up! Demos, we get to see the brand new 2013-2014 Catalog! It promises to be amazing as always with some old and some new goodies to help us express our creativity and Make Something that Means Something! I can’t wait!!

Today’s card – Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 290, a sketch from Carole Burrage…

I wanted a simple card with a nice focal point of stamping. The base of my card is Primrose Petals  and the background is a piece of Very Vanilla. The bottom half has some paper from the More Amore Designer Series Paper Pack. The stamped images are from the Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set, the flowers are Two-Step Stamped in Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple and the leaves in Gumball Green and Garden Green. I used my Simply Scored to create the lines and rubbed some Crumb Cake on them to give them some definition. Some Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon goes across the middle and I fussy cut a set of the leaves and used a Naturals Designer Button with some Linen Thread on top. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is punched out with the Word Window Punch. I hope you enjoyed your little visit with my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge Card. Control Freaks April Blog Tour!

Hello and welcome to the April Edition of the Control Freaks Blog Tour! How awesome is it that it’s a Friday too! Our theme for this month’s tour is birthday’s! Definitely one of my favorite types of projects to make! If you are following the tour that means that you have arrived here for the fabulous LeeAnn Greff’s blog. She always has some pretty great projects to share with you doesn’t she?!?!

For this month’s tour I have three projects to share with you, two cards and a 3D project. I also kept the colors the same on all three projects so that even though they are different the still have a cohesive style. So without further ado lets get started!

My first card is created with our new Designer Typeset Photopolymer Stamps. I got the cool idea for the background from a video on the Demonstrator site. The base of the card is Whisper White. My piece of Pool Party get it’s cool triangle pattern from the flags stamp in the set and because it’s clear it made stamping the pattern super easy. Down the left side is some Calypso Coral punched with the Scallop Border Punch. The arrows are also form the Designer Typeset Stamp Set and the circles are made with some circle punches. A regular little paper clip with some Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon tied around it gives it a much better look than the clip alone. A nice simple geometric card that without the ribbon would work great for anyone!

Control Freaks PP Card

My second card is something new that I have been experimenting with lately. I printed out the embellishments from My Digital Studio and cut them out. I used the Sent with Love Digital Kit which is also one of my favorite actual stamp sets and DSP. The background is adhered with SNAIL and the tag and plane are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The silver “sequins” are something that I found in a drawer, they weren’t in a package so I don’t know where they came from but I thought they were a neat addition. MDS can be a fun way to make a quick card.

For my last project I made some paper lanterns. They would look quite nice hung up for a little birthday celebration. The lanterns are simple paper ones that I picked up from a local craft store. I used the Bitty Butterfly punch and the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to embellish them. Some Basic Jewels Rhinestones give them some bling. I used some of the In-Color Ruffled Ribbon hung from the bottom to make them extra festive! You can also use Christmas lights to light them up.

Hey! That was not a bad Monday as far as Monday’s go, how was your’s? I didn’t do much else besides some crafting last night, I have a ton of projects to get finished. I did get some very exciting news yesterday though. I got an email from Stampin’ Up! letting me know that I have been selected to be a Display Stamper at the 2013 Convention! I can’t even contain my excitement! My projects up on the boards for all to see! I’m a little nervous, they will have to be great projects. Wish me luck!!

A CASE for Monday

Happy Monday… NOT! LOL! Poor Monday always has a bad rap because it starts another work week. I had a great weekend and the weather was almost perfect. I did a little running around yesterday morning and had some lunch with Maureen. I also started to organize my craft area which has become quite large, soon the bed will have to leave! Some cards were made and then I found a 16 Handles Froyo not far from here so I alerted my peeps and off we went. My friend Kim’s two little girls are just the cutest, Izzy says my name now and I melt! I even got to see the child last night, a great way to cap off any evening. 🙂

Today’s card – A CASE – from Stampin’ Success…

I know that most of you know that us Demonstrators get this great magazine every two months (used to be every month, I miss it!) and on the front cover and inside were these great flowers and one was made into a card. I did a little CASE of the card, I did change a few things, but I really like the way it came out. The base of the card is Calypso Coral and the background is a piece of Whisper White. I sponged some Calypso Coral on the front and along the edges. Some paper-piercing is done around the perimeter  and the greeting is stamped from the Blooming with Kindness Stamp Set in Soft Suede. The doily is heat embossed with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and there is some Creped Filter Paper and This and That Washi Tape on there too. The flower is created using the Blossom Punch and some distressing with my Bone Folder and the Stampin’ Pierce Mat. Some leaves from the Secret Garden Framelits and a piece of 5/8″ Flower Trim in the middle. A  few spots and Basic Jewels Rhinestones finish off the card. I hope you enjoyed my CASE today. Woo hoo! The color renovation has been announced! I’m so happy that they have kept four of the five 2011-2013 In-Colors! I’m a little sad to see that Lucky Limeade didn’t make the cut but we also got some former In-Colors back too! Bermuda Bay, Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzaz and Blushing Bride along with a new color Smokey Shadow. They have also moved some colors to different families and of course they are retiring some colors. Say so long to Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Bravo Burgundy, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard and River Rock. Change is a good thing!
