Paper Players 242

Monday… sigh… the weekend flew by as always. It was a nice day here yesterday, sunny and in the 50’s again. I did some crafty things in the morning and then Heather came by and picked me up. We went to Target, I got to use my watch to pay for my coffee at Starbucks, and then stopped at the deli to get some lunch. She had to run home and attend to her laundry but came back over and got me so we could run to Macy’s. It’s her birthday next week and she had received some gift cards a little early. There was a Michael Koors bag that she wanted so we picked that up and then I had a look at the mens clothing. I found some shirts and got to pay for them with my Apple Watch too! The lady at the register was a little surprised when I held my watch up to the credit card reader and it beeped! LOL! I love being all futuristic! Maybe someday soon I will be able to get rid of my wallet all together! After I got home I finished up some cards and the spent some time getting sucked into YouTube! I have to stop doing that! How was your weekend?

The good thing about today is it’s time for another Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #242

I have some more new stuff that I have been meaning to use so I did that on today’s card! My card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Island Indigo. I used the Simon Says Stamp Circle Border Die for my Pool Party piece that goes across the top. The three banners are Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy. I used the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Die to cut out some Neenah Solar White 80lb and stamped the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Big Birthday Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set using the new Hero Arts Ombre Ink in Pool to Navy. A piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine is tied through the top. I adhered a piece of Fun Foam to the back of the background and the back of the tag and then adhered them to the card. My “Cheers” is cut out from Pool Party using the Simon Says Stamp Cheers! Die. I used a little Ranger Multi Matte Medium to adhere it to the card. I’m loving that ombre ink, such a cool effect! This card will be for my friend Anthony who’s birthday just happens to be today! Happy Birthday Anthony! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Thanks so much for coming by to see me today! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Can You Case It #67 – The Mother’s Day Edition!

I can’t believe that it’s Sunday already! Slow down weekend, please! LOL! The weather here started out at 36 degrees but made it up into the high 50’s and it was sunny so that was nice! I puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley in the morning while I Skyped with Eva and made a card or two. Daniel was over at my parents so I went and spent some time with the little guy. We shared some cheese and a Hershey Kiss, shh… don’t tell mum! LOL! Around 1:00pm I had a hankering for a drive so I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte and had lunch with Angie and Renee. We had some Panera and I hung out there for a while and chatted with the peeps that were doing the crop there. Scrapbookers are hard core! Those ladies are there from 8:00am until 10:00pm!! Whoa! After, I came home and relaxed, and that was nice!

Sunday’s are Can You Case It days and I’m pleased to introduce you to my last two team members! They have been on the team for a while but I have claimed them for my own! LOL!

CYCI #67

I got a fun new die from Simon Says Stamp and just had give it a test run! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Night of Navy. The background is some of the Flower Pot Designer Series Paper. I took a piece of Blushing Bride and used the Simon Says Stamp Umbrella Shaker Die to cut the window out. Some Window Sheet is adhered to the back and Foam Tape surrounds the edges. The frame and handle are also cut out with the die from Lost Lagoon and Night of Navy, they are adhered with some Multi-Purpose Glue. I filled the shaker portion with sequins and seed beads and adhered the panel to the card. Some More sequins are scattered across the card. My greeting is cut from Lost Lagoon using the Simon Says Stamp Small Love You Die and also adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue. I love that you can see the DSP through the umbrella! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Can You Case It challenge! Stop by the blog and see the rest of the projects made by the other team members and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you for your visit and have a super Sunday! 🙂

Typeset Butterfly Thanks

Another late Friday night results in a late Saturday morning! It’s the domino effect! I had a good day yesterday! I went to lunch with my friend Marissa, we had some Monty’s pizza. I snuck out of work a little early hoping that my Apple Watch would get to the house early. It did finally get there at 5:30! I have to tell you that the box was not what I was expecting! It was pretty big for a watch but that was because the Apple experience begins with the packaging! LOL! It was presented quite nicely indeed! Set up was really simple and I was up and running in no time. You use Siri to do a lot of things with the watch which is pretty neat! The digital crown is also used a lot along with the touch screen. I’m really loving it and hardly took out my iPhone at all. Later on I went over to Brian & Kim’s with Taylor and Heather was there too. We had a fire pit night under the gazebo with the heater on too. It was really chilly and pretty windy but nice and toasty inside the gazebo! There was some Cupcake Red Velvet wine which always makes the evening better! A very nice time spent with my peeps! Here is the fire pit and my new toy!

Fire Pit

Version 2

The screen on the watch is incredibly clear! I really does look just like an analog watch!!

Because I got home pretty late last night I made a quick card when I got up this morning. The card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Very Vanilla. I ran a piece of Retro Fresh This & That Designer Washi Tape down the right side. The panel is a piece of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper and is backed with a piece of Very Vanilla. I adhered a piece of Fun Foam to the back before adhering it to the card. The flag is a piece of Basic Black. I used the Butterfly Thinlits to cut out a piece of Coastal Cabana and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit to cut out some more of the Typeset DSP and Coastal Cabana . They are layered on top of one another with Sticky Strip and Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is some Very Vanilla and Whisper White cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Die. I layered them and then adhered them to the butterfly wings with some Multi-Purpose Glue. Ok, so maybe it wasn’t such a quick card! LOL! But I do love it! I hope that you like it too and thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful Saturday! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 249

Hmm… what day is it?! Why I believe that it’s Friday!! And it’s a very good Friday, if all goes according to plan I will have my nice shiny new Apple Watch in my hands later on today! I can’t wait to see all of the neat things that it does! Yesterday was chilly, sort of March like! Umm… Spring… where did you get to?! LOL! After I had dinner I came home and worked on my card while FaceTiming with Michael. He suggested some Blackberry Bliss on today’s card and I wanted Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe! You’ll have to ket me know what you think of those colors! I have a sweet little picture of Daniel to share with you. Yesterday was St. George’s Day in England so Erika put him in his little England shirt!

Daniel England

Just when you think that he can’t get any cuter! I am little biased though!

Now for the rest on today’s card which is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

PPA 249

Yes, the base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Pistachio Pudding. I ran a piece of the PinkFresh Studios Peach and Mint Ombre Airmail Washi Tape down the left side. My panel is a piece of Blackberry Bliss that I embossed with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flower is one of my favorites from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut out with my Paper Snips. I used some Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. My greeting is the Simon Says Stamp Mum and You’re Amazing Dies cut out from Crisp Cantaloupe and heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. The words are adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue. A few Pretty Pink Posh, Gold, Tangerine and Lime Sorbet Sequins finish the card. I actually really do like the Blackberry Bliss with the Pistachio and Cantaloupe! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! Thanks for visiting and have a Apple Watch kind of happy Friday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 183

Another pretty nice day here! It was sunny and a bit windy yesterday up until 4:00pm when it started to rain. We are supposed to be back in the 50’s for the next week or so. No more top down in the car for a while! I had a nice evening last night. I Skyped with Andrea for a bit and then FaceTimed with Michael for a while too. Sandy stopped by for a little bit, always love to see her and we are going to get together for dinner soon. The best news ever, my Apple Watch that said it wouldn’t ship until June, I got the notification that it will be here tomorrow!! WOO HOO!! I cannot wait! Tomorrow is Friday!! I have another busy weekend ahead but it’s a lot of fun stuff so it’s all good! What’s going on in your neck of the woods?!

The project that I worked on last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 183

I decided to do a nice clean earthy card! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Kraft Card Stock. Across the bottom is a piece of Brushed Gold with a thin strip of Early Espresso in the middle. My panel is a piece of Watercolor Paper. All of the images and greeting are from the An Open Heart Stamp Set. The leaves are stamped in Mossy Meadow and watercolored. I added some Cherry Cobbler to the berries. For the bird I stamped him in Early Espresso and watercolored him too adding some Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler. The panel is backed with some Mossy Meadow. My greeting is heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and wrapped around the back. I then adhered the panel to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card. I love stamping the images and then using a wet brush to pull the ink and watercolor them! I also love the kraft with the gold! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Thank you very much for taking a little time to stop by and see me today! Have an formidable Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 141 & Tags Class

Wow! It’s Wednesday already peeps! The week is moving along at a nice pace! Remember I said that it was supposed to rain here on and off all day yesterday? Well, someone was wrong! It rained in the morning and by the afternoon it was beautiful and sunny! I went over to Scrap-A-Latte right from work and I got to drive over with the top down in the car! What a nice way to end the work day! I hung out with Renee and Angie and got a little ahead by cutting out all of my pieces for the tags. I also spoke with Mr. Trent for a bit on FaceTime and gave a visual update on the store. The class was great and the tags are just fantastic. But don’t take my word for it, have a look for yourself!

Angie's Tag Class 1

This is the first one, just a single tag.

Angie's Tag Class 2

And here is the second one closed.

Angie's Tag Class 3

Here it is with the one side open, it’s like a little mini album!

Angie's Tag Class 4

And the other side, see the embossing paste and the gorgeous Graphic 45 Papers?! Now that would be a nice little gift for mum don’t you think?! I had a great time at the class and look forward to next month’s!

If it’s Wednesday then that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS141 DT Sketch 4-22-2015

This is a nice quick card that I made when I got home last night! My card base is… well… you know what it is! LOL! The background is piece of Basic Gray. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack for the background. Across the bottom is a piece of Hello Honey, I used the same dies to cut this out and stamped the greeting from the Sheltering Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set in Basic Gray. My strip in the middle is a piece of Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey that I cut out with the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Filmstrip Die. The inside is adhered with SNAIL and the frame with strips of Foam Tape. Finally, three butterflies form the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set are stamped in Basic Gray and punched out with the Bitty butterfly Punch. Some pieces of Foam Tape hold those in place nicely! So there you have my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Don’t forgot to head on over to the Design Team blog and see what the others have done. I hope that you enjoyed my card and thanks so much for your visit! Have a fun Hump Day everyone! 🙂

A lovely rainy and foggy day here on Long Island yesterday. It was really windy in the morning but not too cold, it did do the misty rain thing all day though. April showers bring May flowers right?! I did have a good day yesterday. Work was pretty quiet and after I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to hang with Taylor and lock up. I had a little Skype time with Andrea at the store, spoke with Michael, had a quick dinner when I got home and Skyped with Eva too. Tonight I’m back at Scrap-A-Latte for Angie’s Tags class. I’m looking forward to just going there and enjoying creating! I’ll try to take some pictures of the tags that we make and post them tomorrow. As promised, here are some pictures from Friday’s card class!

Seeing as the retired list comes out today I thought that maybe I should use up some of the Designer Series Paper that I have been hoarding! LOL! The card base, as usual, is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Gray. My background is a piece of the Back to Black Designer Series Paper and on the right is a piece of Brushed Silver Metallic. A piece of Whisper White 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon is adhered around the back with Sticky Strip. I covered a piece of Basic Black with some Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum and adhered that to the background. A piece of Basic Gray is embossed with the Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting and feathers are from the A Happy Hooray Stamp Set. The greeting is stamped in Encore Silver Metallic on Basic Black and punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. It’s adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The feathers are heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some SNAIL Holds them in place. Paper Players 241

Yes, this is my third post in the last 24 hours! LOL! I had busy Sunday! My dad and I fixed my convertible top, it decided that it didn’t want to go up anymore! Took the back seat out and refilled the hydraulic pump, now it goes up like a champ! After that I worked on projects, I had lots of them to do and I’m happy to report that I managed to get them all finished! Around 1:00pm Taylor and I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte, she is going to mind the store for Renee today. Renee has some personal business to take care of so Taylor volunteered. She had to learn the register and I needed to pick out paper for next month’s card class. We came back to my house and had dinner with my parents and then I had to go and get Kim so that we could go to my friend Erin’s grandmother’s wake. I think that they said that she was 94 so she had a nice long life. Came back to my house and finished up some last minute stuff. A very busy but productive and fun Sunday!

Well, it’s Monday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #241

Thankfully I knew just what I was going to do! My card uses a base of Whisper White Card Stock. I used a piece of Watercolor Paper to heat emboss the hello from the Altenew Halftone Hello Photopolymer Stamp Set with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. To do my watercolor background I used my Aquapainter and some Bermuda Bay and Blushing Bride Ink. I tried to give the Bermuda Bay a little bit of an ombre look before moving on to the Blushing Bride. A quick shot with the Heat Tool to speed up the drying process and it was time to die cut the hello with the coordinating dies. I also cut out three more on plain white card stock and glued them all together before putting them in the negative space from the first die cut. A super clean and pretty simple card! I love the stacked die cut with the nice subtle watercolor background! I hope that you enjoy my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge along with my barrage of other posts! LOL! Thank you so much for coming by and visiting and commenting! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Control Freaks April Blog Tour

freakwelcome2013

Hello there and welcome to this month’s Control Freaks Blog Tour! The theme for this month’s tour is Time to Celebrate! It’s always nice to acknowledge someone for an accomplishment or even just for a special day don’t you think?! If you are following along with the tour then you have arrived here from the talented Connie Babbert’s blog, she had some great projects didn’t she?! Today, I have three cards, two congratulations and one Mother’s Day so lets get to them!

The first card that I made is a wedding card. I don’t know why but I have been stuck on weddings lately! The card base is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I heat embossed the Dotty Angles Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on the top. The greeting and the cake are from my new favorite set the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the cake on Brushed Gold Metallic Card Stock with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and then used my Paper Snips to cut it out. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. The Congrats is also heat embossed but this time with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and yes, I fussy cut it out too! It took a little time but I think that the end result is well worth it! I adhered both parts of the greeting to the card with some Clear Foam Tape. To finish off the card I adhered some Champagne Sequins in the lower right. I love all of the different textures of gold on the card and I really do think that the greeting looks fabulous cut out!!

My next card is also a Congratulations card but I think this one would work for just about any occasion! The card base for this card is Whisper White Card Stock. I took a piece of Basic Black and embossed it with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered to to the card with SNAIL. My two tags are created buy punching the top of a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and some Vellum that I heat embossed the greeting from the Bravo Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch. The two tags are tied together at the top with some black twine from a previous Paper Pumpkin Kit. I punched out a star from some more Silver Glimmer Paper with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and adhere it to the greeting and hid a piece of Stampin’ Dimensional behind it to keep the tags together. Finally some wood stars from the Hooray it’s Your Day Project Kit are adhered to the background with Multi-Purpose Glue. A fun card with some earthy sparkle to it!

Finally I have a simple Mother’s Day card. The card base for this one is also Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out multiple different pieces of paper from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper pack. I also stamped some images form the Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Blackberry Bliss and punched them out with the 1″ Circle Punch. All of the pieces are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and SNAIL. My greeting is from another Paper Pumpkin Kit from last year and is stamped in Rose Red and then again with Versa-Mark and heat embossed with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The Photopolymer Stamps make it nice and easy to line up the greeting and get perfect coverage! Finally I used a piece of Blackberry Bliss and flagged the ends under the greeting. It seemed a bit plain so I dug out some “Vintage” Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape and adhered it to it. A few sequins sprinkled around the card finish of with a little sparkle! A fun floral card the most special lady in your life!

Hey there! It was a beautiful day here yesterday, temps in the 70’s! I worked on some projects but did manage to get out of the house for while. I had lunch with Taylor and ran some errands with my friend Maureen. I even found some time to just sit outside and enjoy the warm weather. Like always seems to be the case around here it was just a taste, today we have temps in the 50’s and some rain later on. Before you know it the nice weather will be here to stay, can’t wait for that!

CYCI #66

Yes, that’s right, it’s an anything goes week over on the Can You Case It blog! I decided that it was time to use more than just the greeting in the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set! The base for my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. My background is a piece of Kraft Card Stock that I heat embossed with the Hardwood Background Stamp in Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It’s adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The three envelopes and the greeting are from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the envelopes in Soft Sky, Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand. They are cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My tag is a piece of Very Vanilla and the top is punched with the Angled Tag Topper Punch. The greeting is stamped in Soft Sky. I adhered some DMC Gold Metallic Thread behind the tag which is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three hearts punched with the Confetti Heart Border Punch from Blushing Bride and three from Gold Foil Sheet are adhered to the tag and the envelopes with pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals.I love the soft colors with the cool woodgrain embossed Kraft! I think this would make a great thank you card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Designer’s Choice challenge from Can You Case It as well as meeting the new members to my Design Team! Thank you so much for stopping by and have yourself an awesome Sunday! 🙂
