Fab Friday 77

And the end to another week is upon us. Mine was a good one and I hope that yours was too! I stopped by Heather’s for breakfast yesterday morning with Brian before heading over to Scrap-A-Latte. I watched the store for Renee while her and Angie did some “shopping”. I worked on some of my projects for this month’s card class and also updated the computer. From there I headed back home and went next door to my parent’s and played with Daniel for a while. He really is a smart little boy! I know I’m biased but you can have a conversation with him and he just loves to talk! He knows his colors already too! Little Genius! After we had dinner I came home and made a card and then headed back over to Heather’s for a bit. She’s going to Florida with her boyfriend on Saturday and won’t be back until Wednesday. I needed to get in my time before she goes! LOL! This morning I’m off to get a haircut and then I have some errands to run. What are you all up to today?

Not only is it Friday but it’s also a Fab Friday! This week we have some nice Fall colors for you…

Fab Fri 77 11-13-2015

I used that giving thanks die again, I love that die! The card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Cajun Craze with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folder for my background. Next we have a piece of Blackberry Bliss that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. On top of that is another piece of Ivory 110lb that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Giving Thanks Card Die. The image is from the Hero Arts Fall Trees Stamp Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the tree in Soft Suede and the leaves in Cajun Craze, Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss. The card is then adhered with some more Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few Pretty Pink Posh Bronze Sequins complete the card. A simple and colorful Fall thank you card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for our Fab Friday color challenge! Hop on over to the blog and take a peek at what the rest of the Designer’s have made! Thank you very much for your visit today! I love having you stop by and share a little bit of my! Paper Players 270

Thursday, another week flying by! It was overcast most of the day yesterday with the occasional peek of sun. I managed to get some projects finished and straightened up a bit more. I spoke to Andrea on FaceTime and also saw Taylor for a bit. Last night after dinner I was speaking on Facebook Messenger to a friend of mine, Gita. I haven’t seen her in a long time but she messaged me the other day to tell me that she was enjoying my pins on Pinterest and we chatted for a bit about crafty things. Today she messaged me to tell me that she had made a card for her parent to celebrate Diwali, the Indian celebration of lights. I asked her to send me pictures of any of her projects and I want to share her card with you today. I think it’s beautiful and it really evokes the feeling of the holiday!

I love the pattern that she choose, it reminds me of a Henna Tattoo and the gems sparkle just like the lights in Diwali. Thanks for sharing your lovely card with us Gita!

Now on to my card for today which is for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Before we get to it though I wanted to say a big thank you to Claire for choosing my card from last week as her Headliner! You can see the winners post here and my original post here! now on to this week…

Paper Players #270

I actually had two cards for this challenge but I can’t show the other one yet, it’s for my friend Isabella, it’s her Birthday today and I’m not sure if she received it yet! Happy Birthday Isabella! Isabella also shares a Birthday with my friend Christina, a very Happy Birthday to her too! My card for the challenge starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Frames dies to cut out a piece of Real Red and two pieces of Black 110lb. The red is adhered in the center with SNAIL and the frames are adhered to each other and the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My ornament is cut from a piece of Gold Foil Sheet using the Simon Says Stamp Merry Christmas Ornament Die and also adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I made several attempts to cut out the ornament and foil it as well as heat emboss it and I wasn’t happy with the results so I went back to the old standby instead and I’m happy with the way it turned out! I hope that you are too and that you enjoyed my simple Christmas card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for sharing in my friends work and visiting today! I wish you all a tantalizing Thursday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 22 – Free for Fall!

I had another fun filled day at The Ink Pad yesterday with Anna and Jane. I made some samples and helped out with a custom stamp. I really do enjoy spending time there, such great store and such nice people! When I got home I had a ham sandwich for dinner and then puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley for a bit. Its supposed to rain today so I’m going to go over and see Renee for a bit. The products for this month’s card class have come in so I need to start making samples and getting ready for that! I also have some errands to run and lots of organizing to do. Should be another busy day!

The winners were announced for last week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge yesterday. What an amazing collection of cards we had in the gallery last week! I want to personally thank all that participated, your cards were awesome! With that said it’s time for this week’s challenge…

SIP Challenge 22 Theme Fall 800

This week we ask you to make a fall themed project! It can be a card, a tag, gift box, place card… anything that you want! I decided on a pack of cards. The bases are Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Early Espresso with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folders, there are two in the pack, one that is woodgrain and another has trees. Next up is a piece of Vellum that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Card Die. My leaves are cut from some My Colors Bronze and The Paper Cut White Gold Curious Metallic using the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Leaves. I adhered them to the Vellum with Foam Tape and then used Score Tape hidden behind the leaves to adhere the Vellum to the card. For a little sparkle I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Bronze and Ellen Hutson Iridescent Ivory Sequins. I think that four cards and envelopes given to someone that you are going to see for Thanksgiving would make a nice little gift, don’t you? I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Pay a visit to the blog and check out what the rest of my Team has come up with to inspire you! We can’t wait to see your projects in the gallery! Thank you for stopping by today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 423

Another busy but great day yesterday! I headed into Manhattan around 7:45 and found a parking space on 89th between 2nd and 3rd. I walked over to 89th and West End Avenue through the park and didn’t get lost! I think it’s the first time that I have made it through Central Park without getting lost! LOL! I have a mental block with getting through the park for some reason! I stopped for some Starbucks before meeting up with Jon and Mary for a bit to catch up. After, I walked back over to the car and headed back out to Great River for Daniel’s Birthday party. It was at George Martin’s Strip Steak Restaurant. The food was delicious and it was nice to see everyone. After the party I stopped by my brother’s new house, it’s nice and really big! From there it was back home and time to veg for a little bit. Tomorrow morning I’m back into the city to help Anna with some stuff at The Ink Pad. Here is a nice picture of the reservoir in Central Park…

CP Reservoir 11-2015

The trees are just starting to change color, so pretty!

Hmm… it’s Monday, the start of another week and time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo423

As soon as I saw the square with the circle I immediately thought shaker! LOL! The card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. For the background and the panel I used two pieces of paper from an old My Minds Eye 6×6 Pad called The Merry Days of Christmas. My banner is a piece of Real Red. For the shaker I cut out two pieces of Ivory 110lb and a piece of Acetate with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies. One of the Ivory pieces then has a circle cut out of the center with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. I adhered the Acetate to the back of the one with the circle cut out, added two layers of Foam Tape to the back, filled it with some Pretty Pink Posh Christmas Mix Sequins and Gold Seed Beads and then adhered the other rectangle to the back. Some Tombo Extreme Adhesive then holds it to the card. The poinsettia and leaves are from the Hero Arts October Monthly Kit and are stamped with the inks that came in the kit except the center of the poinsettia which is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks and Duckling Ink. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and adhered the poinsettia and the leaves to the shaker portion with Foam Tape and SNAIL. Finally, my greeting is stamped in Real Red from the Simon Says Stamp Ornaments Photopolymer Stamp Set in the lower left corner. I’m still loving the poinsettia from the Hero Kit, so glad that I got it while it was still available! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and take a peek at the rest of the Designer’s cards and enter one of yours into the gallery! Thanks, as always, for spending some time with me today! Have a merry, happy Monday! 🙂

Pawesome Birthday

Phew! I must admit that I’m a little tired this morning! A happy Sunday to you! Yesterday morning I had breakfast with Kim and Maggie at the diner near Kim’s new apartment. After that I made my way downtown. I had a fun day at The Ink Pad with Barbara! I got play with the new Silhouette Mint Machine! You can make your own custom stamps in minutes with it! It comes with software to design the stamp and then you “print” it in this little tiny machine. After it comes out you adhere it to a block and the ink it. After a little while the ink settles in and it stamps about 100 images before it needs re-inking! I think I need one of those! LOL! So much fun! When I got home last night around 9:00 I had a piece of toast for dinner and then made two cards. This morning I’m off to Manhattan again to visit my friends Jon and Mary for a bit then it’s back out to the Island for Daniel’s 2nd birthday! I can’t believe that he is two already! This weekend they moved into their new house and right at the end of the street is the beach! Here is a cute picture of Daniel from Saturday…

Daniel Beach 11-2015

Seeing as today is Daniel’s birthday I thought I would post the card, I don’t think that he reads my blog yet, I hope not! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I cut out a piece of Daffodil Delight and some Cucumber Crush with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. The Cucumber Crush has a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Hills and Slopes cut across the top and is adhered to the Daffodil Delight piece with SNAIL and then that is adhered to the card with more SNAIL. I stamped the Happy Birthday in Memento Tuxedo Black from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in the lower right corner. The You are is from the Simon Says Stamp You Are Pawesome Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I cut the word pawesome out with the Simon Says Stamp Cat and Dog Pawesome Craft Dies from a piece of Real Red and adhered that to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My cute little dog is also from the Pawesome Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Copics. I added some Glossy Accents to his nose and tag on his collar and adhered him with SNAIL to the card. Lastly, I die cut a pice of Early Espresso using the Simon Says Stamp Paws Craft Die and adhered that to the card with Foam Tape. I love the dog and the “Pawesome” greeting, it makes for a fun little boy birthday card! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you for checking in with me today! I wish you all a stupendous Sunday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 169 – Sketch

Happy mid-week peeps! It was another gorgeous day here yesterday! A high of 72 degrees and nice and sunny! I wish the weather would stay like this! I headed over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte, with the top down in the car which was really nice! I helped her out with a few things and I’ll be watching the store for her today. She’s taking the day off to watch her grandkids! I think that they say that it’s supposed to be nice through the end of the week, hopefully another ride to the store today with the top down too!

Back on my Wednesday schedule and that means that it’s time for the Paper Craft Crew and this week we have a sketch…

PCCCS169 DT Sketch 11-04-2015

The sketch looked very birthday to me but I went with Holiday! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. On the lower half is a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Paper that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Die and adhered to the card with Tombo Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. Across the top is a piece of “Vintage” Night of Navy 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon. Next up I used a piece of Solar White 110lb with some Stick-It on the back along with the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Block Die. It’s adhered to a piece of Night of Navy and then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Another piece of Solar White 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Kinley Snowflake, I adhered a piece of Vellum in the center and then used some Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Vellum and yes, I cut it out with my Paper Snips before using some more Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. For a little added sparkle some Pretty Pink Posh Silver Sequins are randomly added and that finishes the card! I love that Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Die and I’m always a fan of blues for the Holidays! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the team’s cards! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 422

Another weekend for the books. I really enjoyed myself at the Society of Scribes Holiday Fair with Anna. I had fun demoing the Brother Scan-n-Cut and chatting with all of the people that stopped by. I even got to see my friend Jessica! There were all sorts of talented people selling things and demoing Calligraphy. I used to do Calligraphy when I was younger and definitely need to get back into it, I forgot how much fun it is! Driving was an extremely pleasant experience, it took me 35 minutes to get there! I also got a space right outside the Synagogue. Going home took a little longer, about an hour, still not bad. I was worried that there would be a lot of traffic because of the marathon but I guess so was everyone else! Here is a look at Gramercy Park, you need to live in one of the buildings that face the park in order to get a key to get into the park!

Gramercy Park 11-01-2015

One of the buildings across from the park has actual gas lamps outside, how neat is that?!

And now on to today’s post! The start of another week and it’s time for another fun Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo422

I have had this frame sitting on my desk for a while and thought it would make a good addition to my card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb with a strip of Basic Gray going across the middle. Next up is that Frame, it’s from the Heidi Swapp Photo Frames Pack and is adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My roses are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Blushing Bride, Primrose Petals and Rose Red for the flowers and Pistachio Pudding and Wild Wasabi for the leaves. They are all cut out with the coordinating Vintage Roses Dies and adhered to the card with Foam Tape and SNAIL. For the greeting I used a stamp from the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set, it’s heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Black 110lb and cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. Some Foam Tape holds that in place. A few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets are added to the roses with Multi-Matte Medium and some Onyx, Charcoal and Marshmallow Sequins to finish the card! I still love those roses and the Clear Droplets are really neat! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge and don’t forget to visit the blog and check out the other Designer’s cards! Thank you very much for stopping by! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Paper Players 268

We had a very wet and windy Wednesday! Say that fast a few times! LOL! I did spend a lot of the day indoors. I watched TV and crafted and thought about straightening up… that unfortunately didn’t happen. There is always today for that… or not! I ordered myself four new tires from TireRack.com, thanks Andrea for the suggestion. They should be here today and hopefully I will be able to find somewhere to install them! I did need new tires and I’m glad that I got the flat here instead of in Manhattan! See, there is a bright side to everything! Oh, before I forget I was reading Jennifer McGuire’s blog the other day and she linked to a story that I think all of you should read! The video isn’t really relevant but the article describes what we have all known for a long time! Click HERE to take a look!

My card for today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #268

Guess what came yesterday… my Simon Kit! Couldn’t wait to play with that so I didn’t! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I dug in the archives and found some Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper and decided that would make a nice background for my pie! The circle is cut from some Kraft Card Stock with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I stamped the apple, pie and greeting on Solar White 80lb, the apple and pie in Memento Tuxedo Black and the banner with the greeting in Simon Says Stamp Stone and Black Ink. Some coloring in of the apple and pie with my Copics before adding some Ranger Rock Candy Distress Glitter to the top of the pie and Glossy Accents to the filling and apple before cutting them out with my Paper Snips and adhering them and the greeting to the circle with Foam Tape. To balance it out I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Raspberry, Marshmallow and Sparkling Clear Sequins around the images. Doesn’t that apple and pie look good enough to eat with the “sugar” and Glossy Accents?! LOL! I Hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! I had fun making the card and I thank you for coming by to check it out! Have an amazing Thursday peeps! 🙂

SIP Challenge 20 – Colors!

Another busy day yesterday. I did wake up with a massive headache yesterday morning and by the time it went away it was 9:30 so I got a late start. After I puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley for a bit I got myself together and ran over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee. After, I stopped home to check the mail, I knew that I had some goodies coming, before I headed over to Sue’s to play with her Brother Scan-n-Cut. Now there is a fun machine! I got four 8 1/2 x 11 pages of stamped images cut out in about 10 minutes! It’s super simple to use too! Thanks for the lesson Sue! From there I came home and had some dinner with my parents and then Taylor stopped by. I wanted to go to Target and A.C. Moore but when I went outside I was greeted by a little warning on the screen in my car telling me that my right front tire was flat! Ugh! I need new tires but not right now! LOL! My dad changed the tire for me and Taylor took me to do my errands. When I got back I headed into the Stampin’ Galley to work on a few more projects before calling it a day. Today I’m going to hang a Scrap-A-Latte for the day, stop by and say hi if you are in the area! Oh, the goodies that I arrived yesterday… some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins to feed the serious addiction that I have and my October Hero Arts Kit! Here’s a peek…

It’s Tuesday and you know what that means, it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

SIP Color Challenge 20 800

Some fun colors from Andrea! I wanted to use a new set that I got from Simon to make a fun background so that’s just what I did! The base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Jumbo Stripes Photopolymer Stamp Set along with some Early Espresso, Blushing Bride and Dew Drop Brilliance Galaxy Gold Pigment Ink to create my plaid background on a piece of Solar White 80lb. It covers the entire card front and is adhered with SNAIL. Next up are two snowflakes cut from a piece of Paper from the Recollections Midnight Magic 6×6 Paper Pad with the Simon Says Stamp Kinley Snowflake Die. I adhered them to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Early Espresso using the Simon Says Stamp Handlettered Winter Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used the Simon Says Stamp Hearts and Spoons Dies to cut it out and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. Finally, I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins with Multi-Matte Medium to complete the card! I do love that plaid background and being able to use the Jumbo Stripes Set to make it in any color is pretty neat! I hope that you enjoyed my very non-traditional Holiday Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Color Challenge! Head over to the blog and see what the rest of the team has for your inspiration and enter your card in the gallery! Thanks for stopping by to see me today! Have a lovely Tuesday! 🙂

Oceana Pearl Birthday

It’s a little chilly here this morning but it’s the weekend so it’s all good! Yesterday I went over to Scrap-A-Latte in the morning to help Renee with some stuff and then came back home so I could meet Sue and got to lunch. We went to the Sequa Deli and I had a the Buffalo Chicken Panini. We sat and chatted for a while, I told her all about my trip, I haven’t seen her since before I left for England! After lunch we came back to my house for a bit and looked at some of my cards. It was great to catch up with her! After, I had dinner at my parents and played with Daniel for a bit before running out to do some errands. I met up with Heather at BJ’s and then came home and watched Jurassic World. This morning I’m headed into Manhattan to hang at The Ink Pad again which is always fun!

Last night I was going through my stash and came across a die that I haven’t used and a card popped into my head! Love it when that happens! The base for the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Island Indigo that I heat embossed with Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder using the Hero Arts Waves Background Stamp, it’s then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. In the left corner is that die, the Memory Box Oceana Corner cut from some Paper Cut Ice Gold Metallic Curious Card Stock. I used little tiny pieces of Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. My greeting is the Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday Die cut from the same card stock and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Of course, to finish off the card there is a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins! I love the Silver Pearl Embossing Powder and the way it changes color in the light! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today and that you all have a super Saturday! Thanks very much for visiting! 🙂
