Distressed Butterfly Wishes

Is it Thursday already?! We had more sunny weather yesterday, just how I like it! After work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to meet up with Michael so that we could choose the papers for next week’s card class. We had Panera for dinner with Nicholas and then came back to my house. Michael worked on his projects in Stampin’ Galley! He made a really neat card and a cute gift bag that can be used to hold a gift card. He’ll be doing a blog post soon to show his projects! For now here is a picture of him hard at work!

MT SG RC

It’s a little bit of a mess in there isn’t it?! I’ll work on my projects over the weekend. I’m looking forward to the joint class!

My card that I have today is one that I made because I wanted to try out a new die that Michael had gotten me, The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Black. The panel is a piece of Crumb Cake, I used one the the dies from the new Memory Box Open Studio Distressed Wyndham Collage Die Set to cut out the lower left side. All of the stamped images are from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set. The flower and greeting are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the dashed line is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I also heat embossed the butterfly in Gold on Vellum and cut it out with the Butterfly Thinlits. It’s adhered to the card with a teeny piece of Foam Tape. The panel is then adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. I love that Memory Box die, it’s so cool! A nice simple birthday card with a slightly rustic feel to it! I hope that you enjoyed my just for fun card for today! I thank you very much for coming by and I wish you all an excellent Thursday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 8 – Designer’s Choice!

I’m not even going to go into detail about my Monday. It was a typical Monday though, so you can imagine! LOL! When I got home last night I made a few cards and then headed over to Sandy’s house for Card Class. It’s been a while since we have done one of those and it was great to see everyone again! Michael and Sue joined in the fun too! After that I came home and finished up a few things before calling it a night. How was your Monday?

So, today is Tuesday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We are giving you free reign again with another Designer’s Choice…

SIP Any Challenge 8

It so nice to just get to sit down and make a card without any rules isn’t it?! My card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed the flower form the You’ve Got This Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on a piece of Crumb Cake. The image is colored in with some Prismacolor Colored Pencils, just a few shades of yellow and green. I tied a piece of Papertrey Ink Rustic Jute Button Twine around the panel and then adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed again in Hero Arts White on a piece of Hello Honey and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix and Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered around the flower and complete the card. I love the way colored pencils look on Crumb Cake, it really makes the image pop! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Designer’s Choice challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s projects and we hope that we will see your creation in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today! I wish you a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 409

Seeing as I got such a late start yesterday there isn’t much to report on today. I had a nice relaxing day yesterday. I made a few cards and watched Now You See Me for like the fourth time. Sometimes even I need a “veg” day! I managed to get the laundry done and straighten up a bit too so it wasn’t a total day of nothing but it did contain enough nothing to make me happy!

While Monday’s aren’t my favorite day of the week it does mean that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch and I do love those…

Mojo409

I got to use one of my favorite stamp sets along with some paper that I got whole I was in Lancaster that I think goes great with it! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is two pieces of paper from the Heidi Swapp 6×6 #HS01060 (no name?!) Paper Pad. I stamped the notebook sheet using the Clearly Besotted Just a Note Photopolymer Stamp in Mint Macaroon. The greeting and flower along with the leaves are from the Clearly Besotted Sketched Blooms Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is stamped in Blushing Bride, the leaves in Mint Macaroon and the flower is heat embossed in White Hero Arts Embossing Powder on Vellum. The leaves and the flower are cut out with the coordinating dies. I flagged a strip of Blushing Bride and adhered that to the notebook layer. The leaves are adhered with SNAIL and the flower with 2-Way Glue. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few My Minds Eye Lost & Found Christmas Enamel Dots complete the card. I love the colors in the paper and I think they go so well with Mint Macaroon and Blushing Bride! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog to check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter your creation in the gallery! Thank you for checking in with me today! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Retro Strong Man Birthday

Yes, I had a lazy Sunday morning again! We got back to Long Island around 6:30 last night. I came home for a bit and unpacked and then Michael came over so that we could stop by Brian & Kim’s for Kevin’s Birthday party. My friend Lorren was there and she had asked where Michael lived and he said Brasil. I said that he had grown up in Hicksville and so had Lorren. It turns out that they lived on the same block only a few houses away from one another! Michael knows Lorren’s family and they spent some time catching up on the rest of the neighbors! It really is a small world! We came back to my house and watched some TV before calling it a night. This morning was spent chatting about the scrapbook show and surfing the internet. It’s fast becoming my favorite way to spend a Sunday morning! I have a few pictures that I took from the top of the parking garage in Lancaster. Just really cool buildings and one of me and Michael.

It was little windy, gotta love that hair! LOL!

I needed to play with some of the goodies that I picked up from the Scrapbook show so I used some on today’s card. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. I used my new Crop-a-dile Corner Chomper to round the corners on the card, background and bottom of the tag. The background is a piece of paper from Fancy Pants called Everyday Circus and it’s adhered to the card with SNAIL. My tag is a piece of Very Vanilla, I used the Ornate Tag Topper Punch for the top and stamped the strong man from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. His pants and shoes are colored in with Copics. The greeting is also from the same set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Real Red and cut out with a die from Dies By Dave. I tied some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine though the top. The cool ViewMaster is a die from Echo Park and is cut out from some more Basic Black and tucked under the tag that’s adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I love the retro feel to the paper, I think that it goes just perfectly with the strong man! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! 🙂

Scrabble Travel Birthday

I can’t believe that it’s Saturday already! We had a fun day at the CKC Show yesterday! Loads of fun things to look at and I even got to meet my friend Ginger! She is pretty awesome! My sister-in-law Erika text me yesterday to say that her, Daniel and my brother were in the area so we went to the Iron Works Brewery and had dinner with them! That was a very nice and unexpected surprise! Daniel was adorable as always and everyone got big hugs from him! Here is a picture of Michael, Ginger and I standing in the Vendor Faire Area at the CKC Show…

And here is little Daniel at dinner last night…

My card that I have for today is a fun masculine birthday one! The base for today is a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Black. My background is a piece of Hello Honey and across the bottom is a piece of Washi Tape with a travel theme. A piece of Sahara Sand is stamped with the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp in Sahara Sand. I used the Simon Says Stamp Game Tiles Photopolymer Stamp Set and the coordinating Dies to spell out my Happy Birthday, stamped on the Woodgrain piece. The letters are adhered to the card with SNAIL and Foam Tape. I think that card would work well for anyone but especially would be great for a Scrabble fan! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thanks, as always, for taking a little time to come by and see me! Enjoy the rest of your Saturday! 🙂

Paper Players 255

SORRY FOR THE LATE POST, GODADDY WAS HAVING ISSUES THIS MORNING!

Ahh yes, once again today is my Friday! It was a hot one here yesterday and is going to be even hotter today. I’m not complaining, I do love the summer and you know that if I never saw snow again I would be fine with that! My day was pretty standard. I came home after work and little Daniel was at my parent’s. He was a little cranky but managed to give me that sly little smile! When I got home I Skyped with Andrea and then made some cards. I’m off to the CKC Show in Lancaster with Michael and Sue tomorrow, that should be loads of fun! Sandy stopped by last night for a bit to pick up some things and chat, we are all going to her card class on Monday, it’s been a long time since I’ve been to one of those, should be fun! Looking forward to some quality time with my peeps!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from Sandy…

Paper Players #255

Ahh, is that a tag! LOL! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is an awesome piece of paper from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes 6×6 Pack. All of the stamps are from the Simon Says Stamp Flip Flop Season Photopolymer Stamp Set. The hello is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black right on the background. My tag is a piece of Pool Party that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Medium Tags Dies. I stamped the flip flops from the set in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them in with my Copics and the cut them out with my Paper Snips. They are adhered to the tag with Foam Tape. The summer is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Painted Words Dies from a piece of Tangelo Twist and Basic Black. I used some Ranger Multi-Medium to adhere them to each other, slightly offset, and then adhered them to the tag with some more Multi-Meduim. I applied a generous dose of Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to make it pop! A piece of American Crafts Primio Brights Hemp Twine is tied through the top of the tag and then it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. To give the card some sparkle I adhered some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins along the rays on the background. I really love that background paper, it’s so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from Sandy! I thank you so much for stopping by today and I wish you a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 7 – Colors & Still More Manhattan!

Monday, why must you be so… Monday?! Yesterday was a little bit of a let down after the weekend that I had! LOL! Work was more irritating than usual, there are two new people moving into my office and I have seen a side of one them that I never knew existed and to be honest am sad that I have. After the torture I came home and had some dinner and puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley playing with some new goodies that I got. I also Skyped with Andrea for a little bit and even snuck in some TV. And yes, I have still more pictures form Manhattan. These are from the walk that Michael and I took along the river. There were some amazing sunsets over the weekend!

I really did love my weekend! They should all be just like that, I would be the happiest person in the universe!

What better way to start off a Tuesday than with a new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge?! This week we have a color challenge from Michael…

SIP Color Challenge 7

A nice summery palette, wouldn’t you agree?! I know that you will be surprised but I got another nautical set in the mail! LOL! The base for today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Soft Sky to serve as the background for my little scene. The waves are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Border Waves Dies from Pacific Point. I flipped the negative of the cut out and adhered it on top of the other one with Foam Tape, I thought it looked neat! The extra large sun is cut out of Daffodil Delight with the Simon Says Stamp A2 Card Curved Edge Die and it’s adhered with Foam Tape. My sailboat and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set. The boat is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics, I brushed some Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on the sails and the greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on a piece of Pacific Point that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Sketchy Banners Dies. A few Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix Sequins give the card a little sparkle! I really am stuck on the nautical theme lately but I just love the sailboats and waves! Mojo Monday 408 and More Manhattan!

Well, I had THE best 4 days off! My weekend was fantastic! Yesterday morning Maggie said our goodbyes to Kim and Maggie and headed downtown to have breakfast with Michael. Around 12:30 I walked Maggie to the Subway so she could get to JFK for her flight back to Cali. It was so nice to have Maggie here with me, love her to pieces. She is so happy and funny and I’m glad that she got to meet Michael and Kim! I can’t wait for her to come back!! It was also a lot of fun working at The Ink Pad with Michael. So many people from different countries stop in. We met a sweet lady from France who gave us some really cool tags that she used as business cards! After we closed the store we took a nice long walk along the Hudson and watched all of the boats and people. So relaxing and it was a gorgeous evening. I dropped Michael off in Midtown and then headed home. I really didn’t want to weekend to end! As promised here are some pictures that I took from the High-Line yesterday. It was an amazing sunset!

Oh how I love a tall & skinny! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Typeset Designer Series Paper Pack. Across the lower half is a piece of Pear Pizzaz that I used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes dies along the top and bottom. My main panel is a piece of Basic Black that is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies with another piece of Typeset DSP on top. I adhered a sliver of Basic Black along the bottom and then adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The neat cup is from this month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the succulent in Pear Pizzaz. It’s cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles and adhered to the card with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. I say it all the time but I really do love the stamps in the Paper Pumpkin Kits! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Pals Paper Arts 261 & Manhattan!

Hello there and a happy Sunday to you! I did get my backpack yesterday, it was a joint effort between Andrew and Taylor! Taylor was nice enough to take the train in and drop it off to me! Maggie and I met her at Penn Station and then from there we stopped back at The Ink Pad and dropped it off before heading downtown. I have not been to the 9-11 site in a few years and have never been to the reflection pools. I cannot tell you the overwhelming feeling of sadness that I experienced while Maggie and I were there. The new tower is beautiful and so is the rest of the site, it’s a nice tribute to all of the innocent people that lost their lives because of someone else’s hatred.

We had walked down so we took the Subway back up to The Ink Pad and met up with Michael. The High Line is nearby so we walked along that for a bit, I have some amazing pictures from there and will share those with you tomorrow. After, we had dinner with Michael and then Maggie and I headed up to meet my friend Kim at Bev and Jason’s apartment. From there we took a cab back down to Kim’s. Before we turned in for the evening we spent a little time on the roof deck. Some more cool pictures and I’ll share those later in the week. Today, Maggie and I will head down to The Ink Pad and meet up with Michael. I’m working in the store with him today and my Maggie will head to the airport, she goes back to Cali in the afternoon. A very busy but amazing day!

Today’s card is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

I really liked the Lawn Fawn set that I used for last month’s card class so I thought I would break it out again! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Black. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level 3D Gemstone Embossing Folder for the background and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam some SNAIL and a little Multi-Purpose Glue. I stamped all of the images from the Lawn Fawn Happy Wedding Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them in with Copics. They are cut out with the matching Happy Wedding Lawn Cuts Dies and adhered to pieces of Basic Black that were cut out with the Lawn Fawn Small and Large Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts. The circles are then adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in White Hero Arts Embossing Powder on Basic Black and also adhered to the card with Foam Tape. It really is a cute little set and I love those 3D Embossing Folders! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge along with pictures from my day yesterday! Fab Friday 69

Hello everyone! It’s FRIDAY! Yesterday was another great day! Maggie took Michael’s Baby Book class at Scrap-A-Latte so we were there for most of the day. Everyone loved the class and the book is awesome! I helped out and worked on a few things for Renee. After everyone was done Maggie, Michael and I stopped by the house and Skyped with Andrea for little bit before heading to Friday’s for dinner. When we got back to my house I worked on another card and then we watched some of the videos that I shot from the Sam Smith concert. This morning we are going to head out East for the day and maybe pay a visit to the wineries.

It’s also time for another Fab Friday and this time we have a color combos for you…

Fab Fri 69 7-24-2015

Today my card begins with a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock for the base. I ran two strips of of Bohemian Designer Washi Tape down the left side. My tag is a piece of Lost Lagoon that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Die. The flowers are from the Mama Elephant Freestyle Florals Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Versa-Mark on Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow, heat embossed with White Hero Arts Embossing Powder and cut out with the matching dies. The leaves are adhered to the tag with SNAIL and the flowers with Foam Tape. I tied a piece of May Arts Natural Twine through the top and then adhered the tag to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is the Mama Elephant Creative Cuts Thanks Script Die. I cut it out twice from Lost Lagoon and adhered them to each other and to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Finally a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are scattered around and complete the card. I really do love the look of white heat embossing for florals, especially on the dark card stock! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday color challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with! Thank you for stopping by today and have a fabulous Friday! 🙂
