Mojo Monday 449

How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was pretty good except for the water issue in the bathroom yesterday morning! I walked in the carpet was wet along with the bottom of the shower curtain?! I called my neighbor upstairs and he came down and assessed the scene. He decided he knew what it was and got parts and fixed it. I had to shower at my parent’s so I won’t know if he was successful until I get in there today! Hopefully he was! At the store I worked on getting things organized and making some loyalty cards and other design related things. Angie worked on an Art Journaling page that is just awesome and Renee worked on her layouts for classes. Love all of the creativity! I forgot to bring crafty stuff with me so I spent a little time making my card when I got home. It’s hard to know what to bring with you when you leave in the morning! Especially when you are thrown off by a bathroom fiasco! LOL! Today I’ll be getting the rest of the Lawn Fawn order and hopefully some other stuff that I ordered! I’m really having a lot of fun, can you tell?!

Now on to the business at hand! Today’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge

Mojo449

I have had the stamp set that I used on today’s card for a L O N G time! It’s ’bout time that I inked it up! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Pink Pirouette and adhered that to the front of the card. My patterned paper is from the Crate Paper Flea Market 6×6 Paper Pad and is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts. The strip down the right side is a piece of Midnight Muse on top of a piece of Gold Mirror Card. The square and strip are both adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. My greeting and retro phone are both from the Hero Arts Just Saying Hi Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them both in Onyx Black and heat embossed the phone with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. The phone is cut out with Scissors and a craft knife, I need a little more practice with the knife, and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. When I saw that piece of patterned paper it reminded me of wallpaper from the 50’s so I thought that it went well with the phone! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thank you for starting your week off here with me! I wish you all a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Earthy Beautiful Day

Another long day at the store but I’m loving every minute of it! I did get my haircut in the morning before heading over and I got to drive with the top down! That kind of happiness just sets the tone for the rest of the day doesn’t it?! I got a lot accomplished, mostly organizing and planning, two of my favorite things to do! Angie was there and was working on all kinds of things with Renee. It’s so nice to be surrounded with all of that creativity all day! Sandy stopped by to make a purchase and Danielle came by to make the class cards which I will post tomorrow. I’ll be back there today, it’s supposed to be a rainy day here, what better way to spend a rainy day than in a craft store?!

The card that I made for today was started at the store and I finished it when I got home. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of the stamped images and greeting are from the Altenew Beautiful Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the gorgeous flower in Altenew Morning Frost, Evening Gray, Moon Rock and Lava Rock Crisp Ink using my MISTI. The leaves are stamped in Evening Gray and Moon Rock. I heat embossed two more of the images in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on Sahara Sand. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I arranged them on my card and the used Press ‘n Seal to pick them up. Some Tombo Dot Runner Adhesive and Foam Tape is added to the back and then they are turned over and adhered to the card. The greeting is stamped in Lava Rock and the card is done! I love that amazing flower and I think that it looks so cool in the grays with the little hints of gold! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you for spending a little of your Saturday with me! Have a lovely day! 🙂

SIP Challenge 48 – Colors!

I trust that you all had a nice Monday! It was a little chilly here during the day but sunny and warmed up a little in the evening. I had a nice simple day. I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and crafted for a bit. In the afternoon I ran a few errands and then came back home and binge watched some YouTube on the Apple TV. Mum made tacos for dinner and they were delicious! To end my evening I chatted with Michael for a bit, watched some more YouTube and relaxed. Today I have a bunch of things to do to get ready for my upcoming project finish! I’ll be able to tell you all about it on Thursday! Finally! To say that I’m excited doesn’t begin to cover it! 🙂

Tuesday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have some colors from Sandy…

SIP Color Challenge 48 800

Whenever I have the urge to use some Lawn Fawn it seems to last for a few days! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink to it. For the frame I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames to cut out three pieces of Calypso Coral, they are adhered to each other and the card with Multi-Matte Medium. All of the images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Baked with Love Photopolymer Stamp Set. Everything except the greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Copics. They are then die cut using the Coordinating Lawn Cuts and adhered to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive and Foam Tape. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White onto another piece of Calypso Coral and then cut out using the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners Lawn Cuts. I adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape and the card is finished! You already know how fond I am of Lawn Fawn, I just really love their images and most of them work with most of their other sets! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Color Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s fabulous cards! Paper Players 294

Happy weekend peeps! It was overcast here and rained for the afternoon yesterday. We just get a taste of Spring! In the morning I FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit before I ran over and got Heather and dropped her off so that she could pick up her car. When I got back to the house I crafted for a while and then went over to see Daniel at my Parent’s. Erika brought home pizza and rigatoni alla vodka for dinner for all of us. After dinner was over I came back home, made another card and then watched Transformers – Age of Extinction. I thought I had seen it but I hadn’t and it was good! I like techie movies with robots and lots of explosions! LOL! This morning I’m going to meet Sue at Scrap-A-Latte for the garage sale that they are having there. That should be fun!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Player’s challenge to share with you, unfortunately not in time to be added…

Paper Players #294

I used some new Altenew Stamps that I got the other day! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Broken China Distress Ink to make my subtle “sky” background. The flowers and branch are from the Altenew Vintage Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in So Saffron and Wisteria Wonder for the flowers using my Mini MISTI and the branch is stamped in Soft Suede. A little dot of Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment Ink is stamped in the middles and they are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The branch is adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the flowers with Foam Tape. My hello is form the Altenew Halftone Hello Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Pink Pirouette. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out and a piece of Pear Pizzaz. The stamped hello is adhered to the Pear Pizzaz one, slightly offset, with Multi-Matte Medium and the same attaches it to the card. I love the simplistic look of the card and the way the Wisteria Wonder took on a brownish tinge when stamped over the So Saffron is pretty cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! I completely forgot that it ends on Friday night but I had it made so I wanted to share it anyway! Thank you so much for coming by! I wish you all a fun Saturday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 447

What started out to be a rainy day turned into a nice sunny one! YAY! When I took the train into Manhattan it was pouring, by the time I got up to 86th Street it had stopped. I went to see my friends Jon and Mary, they are going to Paris and Europe for a few weeks! So jealous! From there I headed down to The Ink Pad to surprise Anna with a visit! Alway nice to see her! My friend Kim came and met me at the store and we went and had Chipotle for lunch. From there we walked up 6th Avenue and stopped in some stores along the way. We ended up at Gregory’s Coffee and both had cappuccinos. They had some latte art on them…

Gregory's Coffee Latte Art

Now there is something that you don’t get at Starbucks and the coffee was delicious! We said our goodbyes and I ran to get the 4:12 train, and made it! So many people on there with suitcases heading for Jamaica so they could change for the Air-Train to JFK. They never are good with their bags and you always end up getting whacked with one or two! Taylor got me from the station and dropped me off at home. I had a quick dinner with my parents and then watched Jurassic World for like the 10th time! Love that movie! Today I’ll be at Scrap-A-Latte minding the store for Renee, stop by and say hi if you are in the area!

It’s Monday and you know what that means, time for another fun Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo447

I received my Hero Arts May Kit the other day and wanted to use the neat Gift Card Die that came with it! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Black 110lb with the We R Memory Keepers Dotted Next Level 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner. My two circles on the top right and bottom left are Silver Foil Sheet and are punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I adhered them to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Next up is a piece of Pear Pizzaz and across that peeking out just barely is a piece of Pool Party. I cut the out the gift card holder with the Die from the kit from a piece of Bermuda Bay. On a piece of Vellum I heat embossed the Thank You, also from the kit, in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder. I wrapped it around the gift card holder and adhere it to the card. A few Aqua and Sliver Sequins along with some Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet, Black and Aquamarine Sequins are adhered to the card leaving the piece under the gift card empty so you can pull out the envelope. I think that makes a pretty neat way to give a gift card to someone, don’t you?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of my talented Teammates have come up with to inspire you and add your creation to the gallery! Thank you so much for starting another week off with me! Paper Craft Crew 193

Oh boy! The week is moving right along isn’t it?! I woke up later than I wanted to today and for some reason that throws off my whole day. I did manage to make a card this morning with Andrea via FaceTime and we chatted about some Design Team things. Before I headed over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte I stopped by my parent’s to see Daniel and Erika was there. It was another rainy day so perfect to sit and discuss lots of things with Renee. We got a lot accomplished and that made me feel better! When I got back home it was time for dinner and mum made beef stew, perfect for a rainy day. After dinner I came home and watched some YouTube videos and did some research on my little project. Soon I will be able to share with you what I have been working on! I hope that when you find out what it is that you are as excited as I am!

No on to today’s post! It’s for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS193 DT Sketch 5-04-2016

As soon as I saw the sketch I knew just what I wanted to do! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a strip of paper from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper Pack across the upper half of the card. My circles are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Circle Loops Craft Dies from, you guessed it, Gold Mirror Card Stock! Sick of it yet?! LOL! I adhered them to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Hello Gorgeous Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed onto a strip of Black 110lb with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. I flagged the left side and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. I didn’t have a gold button so I took one from the giant bin-o-buttons and coated it in Versa-Mark and dipped it in the Gold Embossing Powder. Some Tweezers helped to hold it while I heat set the powder and I had a matching gold button! Some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is tied in a bow and the button is adhered to the greeting strip with a Glue Dot. I just had to use that greeting! I think that it’s so different! This would make a fun wedding card, you could write congratulations on the inside and it would go perfectly with the Sinceriously! I hope that you like my Design Team Card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and take a look at the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so very much for coming by today! Have a wildly wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Best Copper Pineapple

Do you ever have one of those mornings, you know the I should have just stayed in bed ones?! I woke up yesterday with a raging headache, so I stayed in bed longer than I should have. When I did finally get up did I take aspirin?! Of course not! I like to see if I can wait it out for some reason. To add to the fun my Parents went to PA and no one was around so I walked the mile and a half to the train station. As I was waiting on the platform they announced that the 9:11 to Penn was 6 minutes late at 9:12, no, I think we figured out that it was going to be late, but thanks! I did walk down to the store and stopped at Starbucks for some coffee. When I got to the store with my headphones on, coffee in my hand and keys to get the locks off the gate (still with the headache too!) a woman came up to me and started talking to me. I couldn’t hear her so I told her that and off she went in a huff! Umm, little busy at the moment! Thankfully the rest of the day with Barbara at The Ink Pad was nice. We had a steady flow of customers and I got to meet a blog reader from Vermont by the name of Katie! Thanks so much for saying hi Katie! I left the store and because there are no express Subways on the weekends I missed the 7:12 by one minute! Oh well, I took the 7:22 to Hicksville and my parents came and got me. When I got to their house I had a bologna, cheese on a toasted English Muffin with Mustard for dinner and Taylor and Kiera stopped by. After they left I came home and made my card for today. And my grand total for steps yesterday was 6 miles! YAY!

The card that I made last night is a fun one! I actually won the stamp from Hero Arts in an Instagram contest for Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Day! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Daffodil Delight. The background is a piece of Neenah Desert Storm 80lb with the Hero Arts Pineapple Stamp heat embossed multiple random times in Ranger Copper Embossing Powder. I heat embossed the image again onto a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper and colored it in with my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. It’s matted with a piece of Cucumber Crush and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The greeting is also heat embossed in Copper using a stamp from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set onto Black 110lb and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I think that Pineapple Stamp is pretty cool! Thanks so much for that and the Ink Pad Hero Arts! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you for coming by to catch up and I wish you all a very relaxing Sunday! 🙂

Fab Friday 86

Another nice day off! I got some more of my stuff accomplished! Feels good to get things done! In the morning I ran Brian to Northport to drop off his truck so he could have all of the Fire Department stuff taken out of it. His new truck is finally coming in a few day so he has to get the old one ready to trade in. From there I dropped him off at home and then stopped by my parent’s to see Daniel, it’s been a while since I have seen him and he is still just as cute as ever! I’m really enjoying the new Ninja Coffee Bar, I made a cappuccino that was excellent and can’t wait to try out some more drinks! This morning I’m off to Manhattan for another day at The Ink Pad. Anna is back so it will be good to see her and I’m working with Barbara! Tonight is my friend Anthony’s birthday get together and I’m hoping that I will be home in time to go for a little while!

It’s time once again for a Fab Friday challenge! This time we have some colors…

Fab Fri 86 4-29-2016

My card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Hello Honey. I then trimmed a piece of Soft Sky to 4″ wide and used the Gina Marie Designs Falling Snow Background Die to cut out a piece of Crumb Cake. I tore the piece and then adhered it to the Soft Sky. That is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I had Googled a beach and when the tide comes in it sometimes leaves a little foam along the shore so I used my Marvy Snow Marker and my Heat Tool to add some. The starfish is from the Picture Perfect Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Sky and Bermuda Bay. It’s cut out with Scissors and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. For the greeting I used the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Craft Die to cut out a piece of Hello Honey and Fun Foam. They are adhered to each other and the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally I added a healthy dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the Starfish. I do think that the “Snow” looks like the foam and that the falling snow looks like bubbles on the sand. You’ll have to let me know if you agree! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Check out the rest of the Team’s projects on the BLOG and enter your creation in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 292

Oh did I enjoy my day off yesterday! I got a few projects finished in the morning while FaceTiming with Andrea. My haircut appointment was at 2:00 and I had to stop at the Post Office to drop off a package on my way. Sometimes it feels so good to get a haircut! I even made my next appointment! From there I came back home and watched a few YouTube videos. Heather stopped by at 4:30 and got me so that we could run to Century21. She had to get a dress for a wedding that she has to go to on Friday night and I wanted to get shoes. I have been looking for comfortable ones, sneakers, but I just don’t like the way they look on me! I ended up getting a pair of Converse. Not super comfortable but I do love them! I have also been looking for ways to save money. One big expense for me each month is coffee! I have a Keurig and I go through about 6-8 K-Cups a day! That gets really expensive! I researched the Ninja Auto iQ Coffee Bar and it had some good reviews. It also uses regular ground coffee which is much cheaper than K-Cups so I got one from BJ’s for $129. I have to say that I made a travel mug size with some Starbucks Espresso Roast Coffee and it was quite delicious! I’ll keep trying different things with it and decide if it will help me out with the money savings in the long run! Hopefully it will! Today I’m going to try and run over to see Renee for a bit and then it’s Thirsty Thursday! Can’t wait to see the gang later on!

I got my new Simon Says Stamp Monthly Kit and decided to play with it to make my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #292

My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White Card Stock. I cut three strips of paper, two from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad and one from a piece of Soft Sky. They are all adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. The sun, cloud, speech bubble and greeting are all from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Days Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the sun and speech bubble on Daffodil Delight and the cloud on Vellum with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The greeting is stamped in Onyx Black and I cut them all out with my Scissors. On the cloud and the sun I colored in the cheeks with a Copic and then went over the eyes with a Sakura Black Gel Pen. The cloud is then adhered to the back of the sun and some Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape and regular Foam Tape adheres them and the speech bubble in place. It needed something else so I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Summer Mix Sequins, that definitely helped! LOL! I love the simplicity of all of the images in the stamp set and the really neat little tiny greetings too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thank you for taking a little time out of your busy day to stop by and see me! Have a simply wonderful Thursday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 45 – Welcome Baby!

Another interesting day for me in Manhattan! I took the same train that I always do but decided to mix things up a bit and take the Subway from Jamaica Station. Thankfully I got a seat because there were some delays and it took just over an hour. There was also some guy on the train that was singing and dancing around for no good reason. It’s a little crowded in the mornings on the Subway to share your “talents” or lack there of! LOL! I was by myself until 2:00 when Mary came in. A Stampin’ Up! Demo from Wisconsin by the name of Melynn Long stopped by and we had a very nice visit! I made the 7:11 train and stopped by my parents for a bologna sandwich before coming home and wondering on my projects for the evening. Today I’ll be back at The Ink Pad with Barbara and the second Hand-lettering Class so I’ll be at the store until at least 9:30. I enjoyed sitting in on the class last time so I’m sure that it will be fun again!

It’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge time and this week we have a Welcome Baby Theme…

SIP Theme 45 800

I had a pram exactly like that when I was a baby! My card is a very non-traditional one! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Curved Edge Die to cut off the lower right of the card front. The background is a piece of Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper also cut with the Curved Edge Die and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I die cut a tag from a piece of Desert Storm 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies and tied a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord through the top. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My fun pickle jar and greeting are from the Unity Stamp Co. In a Pickle Stamp Set. I stamped the pickle jar in Memento Tuxedo Black and used my Copics to color them in. A nice thick coating of Glossy Accents is applied over the “glass” to make it look nice and real! The jar is adhered to the tag with Foam Tape and then the greeting is stamped in Onyx Black in the lower right on the card inside. I think that it’s a nice funny congrats for an expectant mum! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the clever Design Team has come up with to inspire you! Don’t forget to share your card with us in the gallery! Thank you so much for your visit today! Have a superdelicious Tuesday! 🙂
