Paper Craft Crew 135

Hi there! First of all thank you so much for all of the comments on yesterday’s card! I’m so happy that you liked it! It is one of my recent favorites! I do love watercoloring and will be doing it a lot more in the future. I actually find it quite relaxing. The weather here was in the 50’s again yesterday and is supposed to go up into the 60’s today! It will be raining but it’s all good. When I got home from work last night I Skyped with Andrea and Eva and had a nice long chat with my favorite person, Mr. Trent! Taylor came over for a little while and I puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley for a bit. A pretty good day all around! Oh, I’m participating in a blog hop tomorrow with a new group of people so make sure that you come back for that!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for our sketch challenge…

I’m really liking the Vellum (shocker!) that was recently added to Sale-A-Bration and I used a nice big piece on my card! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock and that background is a piece of Coastal Cabana. On the top is that piece of Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum and across the bottom is a piece of the Washi Tape from the Everyday Adventure Project Life Kit. The panel in the middle is one of the cards from the Project Life This Day Mini Card Collection. I used the Clearly Besotted Notebook Edge Die along the left side. The two feathers and greeting are from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set. The feathers are stamped in Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay and the greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black. I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My star is cut out from a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper with the Stars Framelits. A piece of Whisper White that I flagged comes in from the right and three 2013-2015 In-Color Sequins complete the card. I’m really loving the Lovely Amazing You Set, naturally because it has a feather in it! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Mojo 387

There is really nothing better than having to clean 5 inches of snow off of your car first thing in the morning before heading off to work, would’t you agree?! LOL! It was a Monday! My day wasn’t bad at all, had lunch with my friend Robin. We went to a little neighborhood deli in Syosset called Dugan Sandwich Shop and I had an Italian hero that was quite tasty! After work I had dinner and then came home and unpacked my little Stampin’ Up! order. I also got my MISTI Stamp Tool. I can’t wait to play with that! Made my card for today and then ran to Target to pick up some things that I have been meaning to get for about a week! I need a few more hours in the day please so I can get it all done!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I really do always love the Mojo sketches! My card base for today is a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and I covered the front of with a piece of Mossy Meadow. The background is a piece of Smoky Slate. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of So Saffron. On the bottom of that is a piece of Mossy Meadow that I heat embossed the greeting from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I rounded the bottom corners with the Project Life Corner Rounder and then adhered it to the bottom of the rectangle that is then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For my circle I used a piece of the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Stack that was just added to Sale-A-Bration. I cut it and a piece of Mossy Meadow out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles. They are adhered together with Multi-Purpose Glue and then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My flower and butterfly are from the Nature’s Perfection Stamp Set, also just added to Sale-A-Bration, and are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. I used my Paper Snips to cut out the flower and the Elegant Butterfly Punch to punch out the butterfly. Some tiny pieces of Clear Foam Tape adhere them to the circle. A thin bead of Ranger Black Liquid Pearls makes the body for the butterfly and a few Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Sequins finish off the card. I love the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum and the new stamp sets that were added to Sale-A-Bration! Paper Craft Crew 133

A very happy hump day to you! It was another frigid day here but that’s the norm now! I did have a nice day, I went to lunch with my friend Robin. We went to Moe’s, I haven’t been there in a while and it was good. I came home and got to talk to one of my favorite people! I had a nice long chat with my friend Michael! He is doing well enjoying the fact that he is not here in NY freezing with the rest if us! He has warmth yes, but I have Target, Michaels and bagels! LOL! All kidding aside, he is missed! I also stopped by Heather’s for a little wine last night. Nothing like some Cupcake Red Velvet and some laughs to finish off the evening! Tonight I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte to help prepare for the card class on Friday. Let’s see if I can leave without buying anything! 😛

So we all know that Wednesday means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch challenge…

I decided that I would use one of the cards form the This Day Project Life Mini Card Kit again. My card starts with a base of Whisper White Card Stock, the background is a piece of Coastal Cabana that I embossed with the “Vintage” Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The Project Life Card is backed with a piece of Whisper White and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My cloud is one of the dies from the Word Bubbles Framelits and is also adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I punched out a piece of Whisper White with the 1″ Circle Punch and adhered that in the lower left corner. A piece of the Retro Fresh Designer Washi Tape covers a piece of Whisper White and goes across the bottom. My greeting is from the Snuggles and Smooches Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Coastal Cabana, some more Stampin’ Dimensionals hold that to the card. A button from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack completes the card. I’m really enjoying using the Project Life cards for my cards and I love the monochromatic Coastal Cabana with the white. This Day Painted Petals

Hi there! I had a busy Saturday! I headed off to Manhattan in the morning to see my friends Jim & Diane. I spent some time with them and then headed back to the garage to get the car. It was a quick trip into the city as I was meeting Sandy at Scrap-A-Latte at 1:00. I ended up getting to there around 1:20. Sandy and I went through the new goodies that Renee got in and I choose some stuff for next month’s class. After that I headed home and it started snowing. Taylor was at my house when I got there because she came to let Winston out. I worked on a few projects and then around 6:30 Anthony and Bill came to get me to go to Friday’s for dinner. We had a nice time and got to see our friend Meg. They dropped me off and I finished up my projects and then installed my new laser printer. I got it for a special little crafty thing that I’m going to do that I’ll share with you in a few days. I’m off to Manhattan again this morning and I’m hoping that the roads are ok as I would like to drive in again. It’s still raining/snowing so maybe the train would be a better idea!

I have a bunch of the Project Life Pocket Cards and I’m not a scrapbooker, I got them to use on cards and that’s just what I did last night. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Sahara Sand, I used a piece of Retro Fresh Designer Washi Tape down the left side and mounted it to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The pocket card is from the This Day Project Life Mini Collection. I stamped the image from the Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Coastal Cabana and Blackberry Bliss. My greeting is from the Hello Life Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo. I adhered the pocket card to the card with SNAIL. My two banners at at the top are from the Moonlight and All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stacks. A few random sequins complete the card. Not an overly complicated card to make but I really do love the colors and the modern feel of all of the patterns with the simplicity of the stamp set! Control Freaks February Blog Tour

Hello there and welcome to this month’s Control Freaks Blog Tour! I’m always happy to have you along! The theme for this month’s tour is Sale-A-Brate! We are featuring products from the 2015 Sale-A-Bration Catalog. You can get one of these products for FREE with every $50 you spend now through March 31st! If you are following along with the tour then you have arrived here from the very clever Heidi Baks blog, she had some great projects didn’t she?! I have three cards for you this time around so lets get right to them!

For my first card I made a simple thank you using some colors that are very popular at the moment! The base for the card is Crushed Curry Card Stock. For my background I used a piece of Basic Gray and heat embossed the sentiment from the Simply Wonderful Stamp Set in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The lightbulb image and the “You Brighten My Day” sentiment are from the You Brighten My Day Stamp Set, I heat embossed the light bulb in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum Card Stock and then used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut it and some Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight and So Saffron out. My Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers are used to color in the back of the light bulb. The light bulb is then adhered to the Crushed Curry circle with 2-Way Glue and the rest of the circles are adhered to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A fun cheery thank you for someone that did something nice for you don’t you think?!

My next card uses the beautiful Lotus Blossom Photopolymer Stamp Set. The base for this card is Sahara Sand Card Stock and the background is a piece of the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum. I used the Circles Collection Framelits and some Whisper White to make my tag. My Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker and the “Vintage” Color Spritzer create the base for my stamping. I stamped the stem from the Lotus Blossom Photopolymer Stamp Set in Old Olive and the flower in Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral. The flower is cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of Crisp Cantaloupe is cut out with the Hello You Thinlits and adhered to the tag with 2-Way Glue. Some Crisp Cantaloupe Thick Baker’s Twine is tied through the tag and it’s adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Isn’t that lotus blossom gorgeous, the three step stamping gives it some really nice depth and it’s so easy to do to!

For my final card I used some of the new Chalk Ink with a stamp set that is just made for it! The base for this card is Soft Sky Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of the Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape and down the right is a piece of paper from the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper Pack. The raised panel is a piece of Coastal Cabana adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the tag I used a piece of the Chalkboard Paper and my Scalloped Tag Topper Punch along with the Project Life Corner Rounder. The images are from the Big Day Stamp Set and are stamped in Yellow Citrus and Aquamarine ColorBox Chalk Ink. A piece of ribbon from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack is tied through the top and the tag is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few of the 2013-2015 In-Color Sequins adhered to the card with Crystal Effect give it a little sparkle and finish it off nicely. I love the look of the chalk ink on the Chalkboard Paper, it really does look just like the real thing!

Paper Players 232

Another weekend done. It was a good one though. I didn’t end up going into Manhattan yesterday. The trains were all running late and I was worried that because of the wind they might shut down the bridge. I will go in one night this week or next weekend. Speaking of wind it was really windy all day and incredibly cold! They said that tonight’s temperature with the wind chill will be around -20! Now that is cold! Oh Florida! LOL! So instead of heading into the city I picked up Heather and we went over to have some breakfast with Kim and the girls. Heather bought some champagne so we had mimosas. For eats we had whole wheat chocolate chip pancakes, eggs, bacon and raspberry crumble bars. I dropped Heather back off at her house around 1:00 and then came home for a bit before I headed over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte. Her son Nicholas was there, he’s a really nice guy. He goes to school in Boston where they have about 80 inches of snow! Again, no thanks! I told him south, you need to head south! LOL! I was there for a few hours and then come home and had dinner with the ‘rents and then crafted for a bit. Not a bad day at all!

And since today is Monday that means that it’s Paper Players time! Before I get to this week’s challenge I want to thank Joanne for choosing me as her pick for last week’s color challenge. And as luck would have it Joanne is the challenge host this week…

Ahh, a bird! I do love a bird! The card for today uses Whisper White Card Stock for the base. A piece of the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper backed with a piece of Basic Black is the background. My panel is a piece of Coastal Cabana, embossed with the On Point Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and backed with Whisper White. I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. All of the images and greeting are from the Hello Love Host Stamp Set. The bird and greeting are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, the greeting is cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits. I used my Soft Sky Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers to color in the bird and then cut it out with my Paper Snips. The sun is heat embossed in Crushed Curry on Crushed Curry and also cut out with my Paper Snips. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them all to the panel. Another nice and cheery card to help chase away the Winter as quickly as possible! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Paper Players 231

Another weekend just flew by! It’s raining and chilly here this morning. I had a good day yesterday, I ran some errands with my friend Maureen and then we went to Friday’s for lunch. I came home and made some cards and then sat down to watch the Grammy’s. There were a few good performances, and some not so good! I was happy to see Sam win! He was robbed for Album of the Year though! LOL! Nancy from work was there and I told her to make sure and tell Sam that I said hello! LOL!

Well, it’s Monday and you know what that means… it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I could have done another Valentine but I figured that I would take a little break! LOL! Today’s card base is Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Real Red for the Background. A piece of Crumb Cake stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Crumb Cake and also cut out with the Stitched Rectangles. I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My tag is a piece of Whisper White punched with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch. I stamped it with the ampersand from the You Plus Me Stamp Set in Calypso Coral and tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine though the top. It’s also adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the same stamp set and is heat embossed in Calypso Coral Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut out with one of the elements from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. I used some clear foam tape to adhere it to the tag and that completes the card. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge. Paper Players 229

Just because I like to keep things as exciting as possible I started this post on the plane. Wouldn’t you know that they had free in flight wi-fi on my jetBlue flight! Pretty neat, we all know how I like to be connected at all times! LOL! Speaking of the plane, here it is!

Apparently I got out of NY just in time, they are supposed to have a major snow storm Monday night into Tuesday morning. They say up to 18 inches. They can have all the snow that they want while I’m away, in fact get it all out of the way before I get back!!

I ‘m lucky enough to have been invited to stay with my friend Germaine and her husband Mike In Rotunda West. They have a lovely house in a beautiful area. Dinner was delicious and we had home made bread pudding for dessert! Here is her cute fluffy cat Ginger…

It’s Monday and following along with our regularly scheduled programming I have my Paper Players card for this week’s sketch challenge…

I really love that Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper, especially since I’m such a fan of inked backgrounds, it’s perfect for them. I would however like a whole stack of the stars pattern please! The base for my card today is Blackberry Bliss Card Stock. My background is created with a piece of the Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper and Blackberry Bliss and Night of Navy Ink applied with the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool. You could easily do this technique with Sponge Daubers, I just like the handle on the tool. Across the bottom of the background is a piece of Vellum Card Stock to go along with the sketch. My circle is a piece of Night of Navy and all of the little circles are cut out using the Simon Says Stamp Confetti Circles Die. I then cut that out with the Circles Collection Framelits and backed it with a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper. The enjoy is from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and is cut out from Whisper White and adhered with little pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do love that Irresistibly Yours DSP inked with the Blackberry Bliss and Night of Navy for a cool night sky! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge. Navy Watercolor Best Day!

Well what can I say?!?! The Sam Smith concert was AMAZING!! It’s incredible how different a performance it was from the one that we saw in June! He is much more comfortable and has a good time with the audience. It was completely sold out, not an empty seat anywhere! Madison Square Garden holds around 20,000 people for a concert, unreal! He sang all of the songs from his album and even had Disclosure there to perform Latch with him. Just a fantastic show! We had a such a great time! I recorded a lot of the concert and I’ll share more over the next few days but today I will let you see his performance of my favorite song, Lay Me Down. Enjoy!!

So talented! I could go on and on but you all know how I feel about Sam! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed your little taste of the concert!

Now on to today’s card. I made a simple quick fun card and I thought that the sentiment was quite fitting! My card base is Night of Navy Card Stock. The background is a piece of Watercolor Paper that I heat embossed the greeting from the Best Day Ever Photopolymer Stamp Set in Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used a brush and some water with a little Night of Navy ink to color over the greeting and make it visible. Over the top is a piece of the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum with the center cut out using the Ovals Collection Framelits. Some Multi-Purpose Glue holds the Vellum to the base and finishes off the card. Quick and not meant to be perfect, just fun! I hoe that you enjoyed my card for today and your little concert video! Mojo 380

Another chilly day here, it did get sunny towards the afternoon though and that did warm it up a bit. Another busy day at the office as always. After dinner I helped my friend Isabella with her iPhone. Sometimes technology can be a little temperamental! Then it was off to the Stampin’ Galley for some crafty time. I had to make two cards since I have the concert tonight and didn’t think that making one when I got home at midnight would be a good idea. I used my trip into Manhattan for my inspiration for both of them. I’m so excited for the concert tonight!! I listen to Sam’s album all the time and I never get tired of it. If you have never heard him here is his cover of Whitney Houston’s How Will I Know. The way he sings the songs completely changes the feel of it. I LOVE IT!!

Ok, enough about Sam now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I wanted to play around with some new goodies and use a die that I picked up a while ago. The base of today’s card is Whisper White Card Stock. I used a piece of Basic Black to cover the entire front, I like to do that because it saves a little on paper and then you don’t have to line the card. My background is a piece of the really cool Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog. I used a Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Night of Navy to color the paper. The stars are embossed so when you wipe it off they stay white. A strip of Silver Foil Sheet is embossed with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and goes down the left side. On top of that is a piece of Vellum that I heat embossed the stars from the Project Life Point and Click Photopolymer Stamp Set in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The cityscape is a piece of Basic Black and I used a Mama Elephant die to cut it out. It’s adhered to a piece of Smoky Slate with 2-Way Glue and then to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Up in the top right is my greeting that is from the Honeycomb Hello Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. I love that Designer Series Paper and the cityscape is just really cool! It works for a night out in Manhattan don’t you think?!
