Mojo Monday 461

Yet another very warm day here on Long Island! My car apparently thought so too because when I got in it this morning to head over the the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store the AC worked! Maybe it was angry at me? Who knows how long it will last but I’ll take it for now! I got a lot accomplished at the store too! I had a lot of fun getting to know my new watercolors! I apologize in advance, you will be seeing a lot of watercolor in my cards! Taylor came by and spent the day with me which was really nice! We also had a woman and her two daughters come by to crop. They were very nice and she said that they got a lot done! When I got to my Parent’s I had to call Apple because my Dad’s iPhone won’t let him upgrade his iCloud storage, he gets an odd and very unhelpful error message. Apparently Apple thought so too, it has been escalated to the iOS Development Team and I have to wait to hear back from them. After I finished that I ran a few errands and assembled my card for today. I hope to get a lot more accomplish at the store this morning and I have to go to the Post Office, not sure how I’ll manage that!

It’s Monday so that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo461

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front in a piece of the Altenew Woodgrain White Paper. My doily like piece is the Spellbinders Triple Tear Nestabilities Die cut from some Lemon Sorbet. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles to cut out a piece of 36lb Vellum and adhered that to the front of the doily. Across the middle is a piece of Lemon Lime. I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Altenew Beautiful Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink on Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper and used my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors to color them in. I was experimenting and wanted an imperfect look so I basically just let the paint do it’s thing. Once they were dry I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. The leaves are adhered to the card with Dot Runner and the flower with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black. I flagged the right side and adhered it over the leaves and flower. A few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst Sequins complete the card. I’m really having fun experimenting with the Mission Gold Watercolors and my Silver Brushes! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Design Team’s cards and let’s see yours in the gallery! Thank you for beginning another week here with me! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Well, it was definitely hot here yesterday! I think the with the heat index it reached 105! I was quite happy! LOL! Like I always tell you, there is a really nice breeze down by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and I was inside in the AC most of the day. I did get to play with some crafty goodness and my Taylor stopped by with Kiera for a little while. She says that she comes to see me, I think she comes because I’m close to Blaze Pizza! I had a lovely ride home, Taylor tried to beat me but that didn’t happen! When I got home Daniel and Tristan were at my Parent’s. Jason and Erika went out to celebrate her birthday. Daniel came over to my house to let Winston out and gave him his biscuit and then he asked if we could hang out in the backyard. He asked my why it gets dark and I explained to him the scientific reason, he’s a smart little boy! I used a ball and a flashlight to demonstrate! We also got to watch a thunderstorm way off in the distance and it was lighting up the clouds. He said that he is afraid of thunderstorms but likes fireworks. I told him that lightning is nature’s fireworks. He was very happy to watch it after that! I have a video of it posted on my Instagram and Facebook. He is so much fun!

I had recently acquired some Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors and some Silver Brushes. After I set up the pans and created a swatch I used them to color in the new Altenew Bamboo Rose Photopolymer Stamp Set! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I created the background with the watercolors and some Arches 140lb Paper. The images from the stamp set are heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto more Arches and colored in with the watercolors also. I let everything air dry and then cut the flowers and butterflies out with my Scissors. The greeting is from the Altenew Painted Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Gold. After I ran the background through my Platinum Machine to iron it out I adhered it to the card with Extreme Adhesive. The flowers are adhered with 3D Foam Squares. It wouldn’t be a finished card without a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins! I absolutely love the Mission Gold Watercolors! The pigments are so vibrant and they are very easy to work with! I hope that you like my card for today! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a simple Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 249

It’s the weekend again isn’t it?! LOL! When you work seven days a week the days just sort of blend into one another! I had a nice productive day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. My Altenew order arrived and I got it all checked in and happily sent out emails to people that their Beautiful Day Dies were finally in! There were also some new goodies in the box! You know what that means! Maryanne came up to work on some projects and when Angie came in at 6:00 I headed home. It was a hot one yesterday but I enjoyed it! As long as it doesn’t rain and I can have the top down in the car I don’t miss the AC! I still have to get it fixed though because when I can’t have the top down boy is it hot! When I got home I had a quick dinner and then came home and just relaxed. What a nice way to spend a Friday night!

I used one of the new Altenew sets to make my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 249

The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Solar White 80lb and stamped the stamp and cancelled images from the Altenew Happy Mail Photopolymer Stamp Set in a random pattern with some Morning Frost and Evening Gray Crisp Ink for my background. Down the left side is a strip of Pale Aqua and across the bottom is a piece of Cherry Red and Ballerina Pink. On the strip of pink I stamped the XOXO from the same set. My images are also from the Happy Mail Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I used my Scissors to cut them out, there are no coordinating dies for some reason and let me tell you, I love to fussy cut but those stamps were rough! LOL! Some 3D Foam Squares adhere them to the card and a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Orchid, Dandelion, Aquamarine and Raspberry Sequins gives the card some much needed sparkle! I love that new Altenew Happy Mail Set, it was so much fun to stamp and color in! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for coming by! Have a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

Cards from Class – Watercolor 101

What a fun day yesterday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Renee had her crop and I got to see all of my ladies! I was helping my friend Peggy stamp some Altenew flowers with the MISTI and she told everyone to come over and watch! They were all amazed! Lots of MISTI’s and Altenew Stamps sold yesterday! Showing people easy ways to get awesome results and be creative, that’s definitely my favorite part of the store! I left to go home at 5:00 and had Chinese with my Parents. After that I came home and vegged on the couch for a bit and then ran a few errands. What a nice Saturday!

Today I have the cards that we made for the Watercolor 101 Class at the Store! The first one uses Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. I heat embossed the Hero Arts Antique Rose Stem Wood Mount Stamp and the greeting from the Concord & 9th Beautiful Words Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder. Both cards use Gansai Tambi Watercolors. For this card we just straight up added color to the image using a water brush. Simple and a good way to get use to the way to pick up color with the brush. The second card uses images from the Altenew Lotus Photopolymer Stamp Set and Arches 140lb Cold Pressed Paper. I heat embossed just the outlines along with the greeting from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set in Copper Embossing Powder again. This time we did a wet on wet technique. They added water to the petals and then added color to the base of the petal, allowing the color to leech out into the rest of the wet area. Once they did all of the petals they came back in with a wet brush and pulled the color out from the base and then did the same for the leaf. They all love the second technique, it does give a much more realistic look than the first one. They also saw the difference between the Arches and Tim Holtz Paper. The Arches Paper is a thicker much higher quality paper and makes coloring much easier. I had a lot of fun teaching the class and all of the students said they felt a lot more comfortable watercoloring! I hope that you enjoyed seeing the cards that we made in class! Hopefully one day I will see you in one of my classes! Thank you so much for your time today! Have a super simple Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 248

Yes, it’s the weekend! The weather here has been just amazing the past few days! The rides home from the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store have been heavenly with the top down. We had a busy day at the store yesterday. Renee had her Kids class and Nick and her daughter Krysta came to help! Her kids are the nicest sweetest people! My Mum and Dad stopped by too. Dad fixed the lock on the front door, he does love when he can fix things and let me tell you, he can fix anything! I snuck out a little early and had dinner with my Parent’s. When I got home I finished my card for today and then ran a few errands. Today there is a crop so I get to see my ladies! We always have a good laugh!

I have a super clean and simple card to share with you for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 248

Yes, I saw the feathers and had to use feathers! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my MISTI to stamp the flower outline from the Altenew Beautiful Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and then Heat Embossed it in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I did the same with a piece of Lemon Lime and a piece of Tropical Sea. To cut out my feathers I decided where I wanted them to go over the flower on the white and then used the Spellbinders Feather Shapeabilities. They are adhered over the white flower with 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. I used Multi-Matte Medium and Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. Just for a little more sparkle I added a few Hazel and Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Green and Gold Sequins! I love the way the card turned out, especially the green and teal feathers over the white flower! And yes, I am completely obsessed with the Sentiments & Quotes Set! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you very much for coming by and I wish you all a spectacular Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 93

Woo hoo! Happy Friday my peeps! The Watercolor 101 Class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was a big hit! It was nice to see all of my little artists working on their cards! They all did a fantastic job and now they can all confidently watercolor! The rest of the day at the store was nice! Nick is home from Boston, love having him around! Renee had a nice productive day too! She got all of her kits made for her Kids class! By the time I got home it was 9:00, I had a quick bite to eat at my Parent’s before I came home and sat down to make my card for today. Today at the store I have some new Reverse Confetti to check in and I have to continue gathering the goodies for my Holiday Village Classes! That is going to be fun!

Today just happens to be a Fab Friday and this time we have a fun sketch…

Fab Fri 93 8-05-2016

Love that little flourish! The card that I came up with starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took some Heidi Swapp Citron Color Shine and flicked it onto the card front. After that dried I adhered a piece of 3M Black Glitter Washi Tape down the left side. My leaves are cut from Gold Mirror Card using the Spellbinders Romantic Vines Shapeabilities and that’s adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. I cut out a piece of patterned paper with the Spellbinders Postage Stamp Nestabilities and adhered it to the bottom of the greeting. That is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. To complete the card I added some Pretty Pink Posh Peacock and Gold Sequins! I love the simplicity of the card and the unexpected bright green spatter with the black and gold! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s inspiration cards and enter yours in the gallery! Mojo Monday 459

The last of the headache from Saturday finally went away Sunday morning. That was a long one! It was a rainy overcast day here yesterday, still humid though. The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was great as always! Renee had the Scrap Happy Sisters there to teach a class and my friend Sandy stopped by! Love my Sandy! I don’t get to see her as much as I would like to! She picked up some new crafty goodness, can’t wait to see what she makes with it! After work I stopped by my Parent’s and my Brother, Erika, Daniel and Tristan showed up. They were on their way back from PA. I visited with them for a bit before heading over to Brian and Kim’s for her brother Kevin’s Birthday. He got lots of stuff and was a very happy boy! Adam and Erin were there and Heather came by later on. Love my peeps! When I got home I put the finishing touches on my card for today and watched a little TV before calling it a night. Today, lots to do as always, but all good stuff!

How do we love to start a Monday… why with a new Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo459

I went with a little bit of a different color combo for today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of My Colors Classic Cherry. The background is a piece of paper from the DCWV Maps, Text and Ledgers Paper Pad. I cut it to 4″ wide and then cut an 1/8th of an inch out of the middles and adhered them to the card with E-Z Runner. I heat embossed the images from the Altenew Botanical Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card and used my Sakura Koi Pocket Field Sketch Box Watercolors to color them in. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to a piece of Black 110lb with Multi-Matte Medium and Foam Tape that is then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in gold onto another piece of Classic Cherry. I flagged the right and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. Some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added and the card is done! I love the Botanical Garden Stamps, espceaily watercolored and heat embossed! I also like the unusual mix of the deep red with the fun paper and bright yellow flower! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the other Design Team members takes on the sketch and add yours to the gallery! Beauty in Others Vintage Roses

Well, I believe that it’s Saturday! I’m off to Manhattan this morning to see my friends Jim and Diane. I think that I’ll try to stop by The Ink Pad too! Yesterday I worked on my cards for this month’s card class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. Renee and Angie straightened up the store and promised to work on the new storage room today! I’m looking forward to going into the city! I’ll have the whole day to wander around!

I made what I thought was going to be a quick card last night to share with you today. It wasn’t all that quick! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Kraft Card Stock and heat embossed my greeting from the Altenew Painted Inspiration Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. To make sure that it stayed flat on the card I adhered it with Tombo Extreme. The decorative circle is cut from another piece of Solar White 110lb with the Spellbinders Triple Tear Nestabilities Die. I adhered that to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My flowers and leaves are form the Altenew Vintage Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields and Deep Iris with the centers of the small flowers stamped in Warm Sunshine. My leaves are stamped in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen. The Mini MISTI makes lining up the layers super easy! I cut them out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered them to the card with Dot Runner and Foam Tape. I told myself that I wasn’t going to use any sequins or gold on today’s card! LOL! I do love the bright colors and white against the Kraft, it really makes the flowers and greeting stand out! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you for taking some time out of your day to visit with me! I wish you all a very happy Saturday! 🙂

Paper Players 305

Well hello Thursday! One day closer to the weekend! My Wednesday was really good! I got my Notions Order at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, most of it was supplies for upcoming classes and some goodies for me to play with! I got that all checked in a put out. Renee had her all occasions card class and there were people in and out all day. I managed to get my card for today done at the store again! After I left the store I headed straight over to Heather’s and we ran to BJ’s. We both had a few things to pick up, I needed stuff to bring to work and Heather had to get some goodies for tomorrow night. We dropped my stuff off at my house on the way back to her place. She made me dinner when we got back and then we sat outside and binge watched YouTube! Not a bad way to spend an evening at all! Today I have to make sure that I finalize all of my orders for the new Holiday goodies! Can’t wait to get them in!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #305

The base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Hero Arts Forest Floor Bold Pints Background Stamp and Altenew Soft Lilac Ink to stamp a piece of Solar White 110lb. From a piece of Black 110lb and Gold Mirror Card I cut two strips and added a flag to the left sides before adhering them under the stamped panel which is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Next up I used the Spellbinders Triple Tear Nestabilities Dies to cut out another piece of Gold Mirror Card and that is adhered to the card with Dot Runner and Foam Tape. My flower and leaves are from the Altenew Golden Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the outlines in Altenew Jet Black, the flower in Buttercream and the leaves in Frayed Leaf Crisp Ink. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Jet Black. I cut it out with one of the dies from the Spellbinders Hipster 1 Die D-Lites. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape and the card is finished! I know and you all know how much I love that Gold Mirror Card, it just adds so much and the Altenew Flowers are definitely a favorite too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! I appreciate your visit and I wish you all a lovely Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 204

Hey, hey it’s Wednesday! LOL! I try to think up new ways to start off my posts! It was another very warm day here, still loving it! I got a lot accomplished at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store including making my card for today! Yay for being productive! When I got home I had some dinner and then had a conference call with my friend Greg! After that Louis stopped by for a bit to pick up a Birthday card for his sister. We watched some YouTube and then I ran out to get gas in the car. I like to do it late at night, there are less people and then I don’t have to stop on my way in the morning! All about the planning… right?!

The card that I conjured up at the store is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch…

PCCCS204 DT Sketch 7-27-2016

I wanted bright and fun, you’ll have to let me know know if I was successful! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Cyber Grape Card Stock and flicked some Copic Opaque White onto it. Once it was dry I adhered it to the card base with E-Z Runner. Down the right side is a piece of Bo Bunny Believe 12×12 Devotion Paper and a strip if Gold Mirror Card. My oval is a piece of Tropical Sea Card Stock that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals Stackables. Some Fun Foam and E-Z Runner adheres it to the card. The stamped images are form the Altenew Lotus Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields and Deep Iris and the leaves in Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the oval with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. The hexagon is another piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out with a die from the Spellbinders Hipster 1 Die D-Lites. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black, I flagged the ends and adhered it over the hexagon with Foam Tape. You knew it was coming! LOL! I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Amethyst and Lime Sorbet Sequins for a little more sparkle and the card is done! I love that Lotus Stamp Set and the nice bold colors on the card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours into the gallery!
