    Hello Beautiful City Garden

What a fun Saturday that was! The private crop at the store was a really good time! I love getting to chat with everyone and help them out with their crafty questions! There was a lot of good food to eat too as there always is with a crop! I left the store around 3:45 and headed home. When I got to the house I sat down on the couch and had a nice and much needed hour long nap! I never do that but it felt good! After my nap I had dinner with my Parents and then came back home and went into the Stampin’ Galley to have some crafty time! I miss creating in the little room. Around 10:00 I got a text from Heather asking if I wanted to go over to Brian’s and sit in the backyard. I got in the car and off I went. We had a nice relaxing evening outside and I got home around 1:30. Today I have a friend coming out to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store for a visit and I think that I might take a ride into Manhattan after work! I miss the city!

Today I have a fun card that uses the cityscape that I love so much in a different way! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some Cornflower and Soft Lilac to the top part of a piece of Solar White 80lb. The Impression Obsession City Landscape Layers Die is cut from a piece of Basic Gray and adhered to the background. Along the bottom I heat embossed the greeting from the Hero Arts Color Layering For You Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Gumball Green. My flowers and leaves are from the same set and are stamped in Soft Lilac, Passion Flower and Grape Juice for the flower and on the leaves I used Lime Green and Green Hills. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts and adhered to the card with Foam Tape and Dot Runner Adhesive. I think that the card sort of reminds me of looking at the flowers in Central Park with the City behind them. What does I look like to you?! I hope that you enjoyed my card today! Thank you, as always, for coming by! I wish you all a simple and fun Sunday! 🙂

    Freshly Made Sketches 246

It’s the weekend peeps! What’s on for you?! I will be at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, as always! LOL! Today there is a private crop so I will only be staying until around 2:00 and then I’m going to attempt to get some stuff done around the house. Although, I have been longing to go to Long Beach for a nice walk along the boardwalk. We’ll see which wins out! Nick was at the store yesterday and we switched the storage room and the kitchen. We need more space to keep stuff and get a little more organized and the kitchen was a little bigger than the storage room, problem solved! Sue came up to the store yesterday too and hung out with me. We rearranged some stuff and straighten up. I saw Angie for a bit before I left, she had her art journaling class last night. Always something fun going on at the store!

Today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge to share with you…

    Freshly Made Sketches 246

Oh, a tag! LOL! The card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Rectangles Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out another piece and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner for my background. The tag is a piece of Kraft Card Stock that is cut out with the Tim Holtz Tags Collection Framelits. The reinforcement is cut from Gold Mirror Card. I adhered the tag to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner with a piece of May Arts Hemp Twine tied though the top. Another piece of Ivory 110lb is die cut with one of the dies from the Spellbinders Die of the Month 7 Kit with my Platinum Machine. I also embossed it and adhered it to the tag with a Glue Dot. The leaves and berries are from the same set, cut from red and green, and the feathers are from the Spellbinders Feathers Shapeabilities Dies, they are cut from Gold Mirror Card. I also used a Glue Dot to adhere them. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb. That is adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I added a dot of Multi-Matte Medium under the twine to keep it in place and that finished the card! Yes, I think that my obsession with feathers is back, especially the Spellbinders ones! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for stopping by today! I wish you all a spectacular Saturday! 🙂

  • Fab Friday 92

    Fab Friday 92

Oh yes it’s Friday! We had a great time in the Ink Blended Backgrounds class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday! Everyone left with two fun cards and the confidence to create their own ink blended backgrounds! Renee and I continued to work on laying out the stores better. We are going to be making some major changes today, can’t wait to get that done! It was Thirsty Thursday last night and we had it at Stephanie’s house for a change! Loads of fun just like always! I really do have some incredible friends!

Today I have my project for the Fab Friday challenge! This time it’s colors…

    Fab Fri 92 7-22-2016

When I was at the store on Wednesday I had started working on a project to give to my brother and sister-in-law for a gift. It’s not what you would expect from me! I have to branch out every so often! The base for today’s Scrapbook Page is My Colors 12×12 Textured White. I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Altenew Beautiful Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in Blush, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet for the flowers and Frayed Leaf, Frosted Glades and Evergreen for the leaves. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I arranged the picture and stamped images on the page and then stamped some other images from the same set in Jet Black. When I was happy with the placement I adhered the flowers and leaves to the page with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Altenew Painted Inspiration Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Jet Back. Just to give the layout a little more interest I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Lime Sorbet and Raspberry Sequins. I loved that picture so much I had to do something special with it and I thought that greeting was so perfect for the picture! I hope that you like my Design Team Scrapbook Page for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Be sure and go over to the BLOG and see the rest of the Design Team’s projects and add yours to the gallery! Thank you so much for visiting with me! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

Ahh… Thursday! What a nice day I had yesterday! The weather was perfect, in the low 80’s, the top was definitely down in the car! Renee and I had a fun day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. We both got a lot accomplished and I feel a little bit more caught up! When I got home I had my dinner and then ran out and got gas in the car. When I got back to my house I had another conference call with my friend Greg. I love talking to him, such a great person! As I retreated to the Stampin’ Gallery my friend Sue called and I was on the phone with her for the rest of the evening. We got all caught up! Today I have my Ink Blended Backgrounds Class at the store! I’m looking forward to that!

The Paper Players have a fun watercolor challenge this week…

    Paper Players #304

I have been wanting to use my Finetec Watercolors again, perfect challenge! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Super Gold Curious Metallic Card Stock. I heat embossed all of my images and greeting from the Hero Arts Christmas Crystals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on a piece of Black 110lb. They are all colored in with the Finetec Metallic Watercolors. Some Tombo Extreme Adhesive adheres the panel to the card, it’s my favorite adhesive to use, especially when you are mounting a watercolored or heat embossed piece that has a little warping. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and some Wood Veneer Stars to finish the card. I do love those Fintec Watercolors, they have such great coverage and are perfect for using on dark cardstock! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Player Challenge! Thank you for stopping by the blog today! I wish you all a happy Thursday! 🙂

    Paper Craft Crew 203

Wow! I can’t believe that it’s Wednesday already! I had a very nice conference call with my friend Greg in the morning and got to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store around 12:00. I had lots of catching up to do so that’s exactly what I spent the day doing! Almost there! After work I had dinner and then Heather came by and got me so we could do a BJ’s run. She dropped me off and as happens most times I headed over to her house for a little early Thirsty Thursday. We chatted and talked with her neighbors upstairs. A nice evening after a rough day. I do have a fun picture to share with you of Daniel and Tristan today. My brother is a very good photographer and sometimes you just capture that moment, one that I think is just absolutely precious…

    Daniel & Tristan

OMG! I can’t stand the level of adorable! LOL! I know that I’m biased but that is an amazing picture! He does love his little sister!

Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

    PCCCS203 DT Sketch 7-20-2016

I got this fun background stamp from Hero the other day and have been dying to use it! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Coastal Cabana down for my background. The lower half is a piece of Solar White 80lb, I heat embossed the Hero Arts Wave Pattern Background Stamp in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Evergreen Bough and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink to it. I then cut the top at an angle to match the sketch and adhered it to the card. My tag is another piece of Solar White 80lb that I cut out using the Sizzix Tags & Word Frames & Stamps Set. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner over a piece of Island Indigo that I flagged both of the ends on. My seahorse, shell and little seahorse are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Seahorse Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used my Mini MISTI to stamp the seahorse in Mint Julep, Sea Glass and Cup O Joe. The shell is stamped in Soft Brown and Sea Glass and the little Seahorse in Sea Glass. I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them all out and added them to the card. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Cup O Joe. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Peacock Feathers, Sparkling Clear and Espresso Sequins to complete the card. I love that funky background stamp with emboss resist ink blending on it, I think goes quite well with the Seahorse! I hope that you like my Design Team Card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Hello my blog people! How was your Monday?! Mine was crazy busy! LOL! No surprise there! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was fun. I got my Notions order in and had one more person for Card Class today. My friend Lori also stopped by to get her dies that she ordered. Around 5:30 the heavens opened up and it poured for about 1/2 hour then the sun came back out. I had a quick dinner with my Parent’s and then came home and started working on some of the 100’s of projects that I need to finish! Today I have a conference call in the morning and Renee has Kids Camp at the store. It’s all a go all the time and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The flowers are from the Altenew Dahlia Blossom Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the outlines in Jet Black and the highlights in Evening Gray and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them all out. They are adhered to the card with a mix of Foam Tape and E-Z Runner. Mojo Monday 457

Well, that was a busy Sunday! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was very busy for a Sunday! We had some visitors from up-state New York and Melissa and her Mum came by to do the cards for this month’s class. My Mum and Dad stopped by too! I had a raging headache in the morning but thankfully two Excedrin did the trick to get rid of that. Well, that and the 8 cups of coffee that I had over the course of the day! It was another hot one too! Nice warm days make me appreciate my car even more! Dad changed the oil in the morning so she’s good for another 3,000 miles! I had dinner with my Parent’s and then I came home and worked on my card for today and took a nap! I was so tired all day! Today Renee has some people for a kid’s class and I have a Notions order arriving , I also need to place some more orders too! Oh how I thoroughly enjoy my job!

How do we love to start off the week? Why with a new Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

    Mojo457

My card starts of with the usual base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front in a piece of Desert Storm 80lb and added a strip of Watermelon Wonder across the lower half. The large stitched panel is a piece of Tim Holtz Woodgrain Card. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to color it and then die cut it using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card Lawn Cuts. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The smaller square is another piece of Desert Storm 80lb that I stamped with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background in Cup O Joe Ink. I rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper. The pineapple, flowers and greeting are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Pineapple Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the pineapple in Butter Bar and Caramel Hybrid Ink for the bottom and Lime Green, Field Green and Forever Green for the leaves. The flowers are stamped in Passion Flower and Grape Soda with a little Memento Tuxedo Black for the centers. I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them out. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Perfect Plum and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I know, you were waiting for the sequins! LOL! Well I added some Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Shamrock and Lemon Drop ones! I think that pineapple and the flowers are so neat and the greeting is just great! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter you take on the sketch into the gallery! Large Orchid Best Wishes

Another hot one and muggy too yesterday, but I love it! I did manage to get a lot accomplished at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, more that I thought I would which is always nice! We also had a lady that drove all the way in from New Jersey stop by! She said that there aren’t any craft stores left by her anymore. Now that is a dedicated crafter! After the store closed I headed home, no top down today, it was raining. Had dinner with Mum & Dad and then took Taylor and Kiera to Target. Taylor still isn’t allowed to drive, she’s on Codeine for her throat which she says still hurts. I feel bad for her but there isn’t much you can do, she just has to wait for it to heal. Renee is off today, she’s going to PA for a book signing by one of her old high school classmates. That should be fun!

Today I have a just because card! Just because I wanted to use the stamp set! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card stock. For my background I used a piece of Bo Bunny 12×12 Beach Day Surf Shop Paper. All of my images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Large Orchid Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Lime Green, White Dye Ink, Ultra Pink and Lemon Yellow. The stems are stamped in Green Hills and I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them out. They are adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and the flowers with Foam Tape. I stamped the greeting in Onyx Black and then added some Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet, Watermelon and Sand Sequins to give the card a little oomph! I do love the orchids stamped in the green and the way that the White Dye Ink mutes the color! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you for coming by! Have a simply wonderful Sunday! 🙂

    Freshly Made Sketches 245

That week just flew by! Happy Saturday peeps! I had one more Card Class yesterday morning at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. They were mostly first timers except for my talented friend Dianne. All had a nice time especially me! We had some new customer in the store too, I really do think that one of my favorite parts of my job is talking to people about being crafty! Love that I get to share what I love with others! It was a hot one here yesterday, I even had the AC on in the car on the way to work but on the way home the top was down. I had dinner with my parents and then came home and made a card and relaxed. Today I have lots to get accomplished at the store and hopefully I will be successful! It’s easy to get sidetracked on the weekend! LOL!

My craftiness that I have to share with you today is my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 245

I used some new goodies that just arrived at the store yesterday! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Across the bottom is a piece of The Paper Cut Amethyst Stardream Metallic that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Waves Next Level 3D Embossing Folder. on the main panel I stamped the images and greeting from the Concord & 9th Brushed Blossom Photopolymer Stamp Set. The flowers are stamped in Altenew Lavender Falls, Deep Iris and Midnight Violet and the leaves in Forest Glades Crisp Ink. I stamped the greeting in Midnight Violet and then adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The delicate die cut is cut from 36lb Vellum using the Concord & 9th Blossom Die. A few strategically placed dots of Multi-Matte Medium hold it to the card. And yes, I added some Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Pansy Purple and Sparkling Clear Sequins! I do love that flower and the die cut is just awesome! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for taking some time out of your Saturday to visit me! I wish you all an amazing day! 🙂

    Paper Players 303

A very happy Friday to you my friends! It was a muggy one here yesterday! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was filled with happy people making their cards at the July Card Class featuring Reverse Confetti! We do have so much fun! Andrew and Kayleigh were back! So great to see them both! I had Blaze pizza for lunch and finished it for dinner. Right around 6:00PM it rained and thundered and lightening for about 30 minutes and that actually made the humidity worse. It was a drive home with the AC on kind of evening! I stopped by Heather’s for Thursday Thursday and Stephanie and Brian were there. Around 11:00 Heather had a craving for White Castle so her, Stephanie and I put the top down in the car and went to get some. We drove around like teenagers with the music up nice and high! When I got home around 12:30 I settled in to make a quick card for today. What makes me think that heat embossing and watercoloring is quick I’ll never know! LOL! Today we have the second day of card class and this morning I’m going to visit Taylor, her tonsillectomy went well but she misses her dad!

That “quick” card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #304

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink to a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. It’s flicked with some water and then blotted with a paper towel. To give it a little more interest I cut it out with the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Stackables Lawn Cuts and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My flower is from the Altenew Beautiful Lady Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Platinum Embossing Powder onto another piece of Watercolor Card. I used Picked Raspberry and Evergreen Bough Distress Inks and a Water Brush to color it in. The Coordinating Die is used to cut it out and it’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape and Dot Runner. My greeting is from the same set and is also heat embossed in Platinum. I flagged the right and tucked the left side under the stem. Some Hazel and Ruby The Makery Sparkle & Shine Sequins and a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are added and the card is done! I do love that water spotted background and the flower from the Altenew Beautiful Lady Set is just gorgeous! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! Thank you very much for visiting with me today! Have a fantabulous Friday! 🙂
