    Freshly Made Sketches 235

Well, if it isn’t Friday! So nice to see you again! We had another really overcast day here yesterday but it didn’t rain! We are to get heavy rain this morning and then maybe a little sun this afternoon. I spent the day with my friend Sue yesterday! We had lots of errands to run. We met Bill for lunch and then after that we made our way over to Scrap-A-Latte stopping at Michael’s along the way. Sue and Renee haven’t see each other in a while and while they chatted I worked on some things. By the time we were finished it was 4:45, time to head back to Sue’s so I could get my car and head over to my parent’s for dinner with them and Daniel. I stopped home briefly before heading over to Heather’s, we ran to BJ’s quickly and then back to her house for Thirsty Thursday! Sort of fitting that it fell on Cinco de Mayo! I had a margarita and it was delicious! When I got home I sat down and made my card for today before finally getting to bed around 1:30! A pretty good Thursday!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 235

This was one of those that as soon as I saw the sketch I knew exactly what I wanted to use! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Mama Elephant Sew Fancy Creative Cuts to cut out my background from a piece of Pink Vellum. My cherry blossom branch is from the Mama Elephant Lunar Extras Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black along with a few extra flowers and used my Copics to color them in. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and the branch is adhered to the Vellum with Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is from the Mama Elephant Heartfelt Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered it to the Vellum with Foam Tape. A few strategically placed dots of Multi-Matte Medium adhere the vellum panel to the card. Some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added along with the extra flowers. I love that arigato greeting with the cherry blossoms and the Pink Vellum makes a nice backdrop for them! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Your continued visits are always appreciated and I wish you all a super fun Friday! 🙂

Another rainy day here as promised by the lovely weathermen! LOL! I was up early and took Heather to the Dr. for another shot in her spine. She is trying to avoid the surgery at all costs, I can’t say that I blame her. We were there for a while and when she was finished we drove over to Woodbury and had lunch at Chop’t! Yes, I found one out here on the Island! Now Heather understands why I like it so much! From there we stopped at Target, Walgreen’s and the Dry Cleaners before heading back to her house. One of the cats had tried to take apart the chandelier so I fixed that and then came home just in time for dinner with Mum and Dad! When I got back to my house I made my card for today and continued working on my little project. Soon people!

The Paper Players have an interesting challenge this week…

    Paper Players #293

Now, I knew that I had a bicycle stamp somewhere I just had to find it which didn’t take quite as long as I had thought it would! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out the Mama Elephant Cityscape Creative Cuts from Black 110lb and adhered it to the card with Tombo Dot Runner Adhesive. Across the bottom for the street I adhered a piece of Basic Gray with some Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The bicycle and greeting are from the Papertrey Ink Pedal Pusher Photopolymer Stamp Set. I did all of my die cutting first, they are solid dies, and then stamped the Wheels and greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black, the bicycle in Tide Pool, Basket in Khaki and the puppy in Slate. Two brads attach the wheels to the bike frame and it’s adhered to the card with more Tombo Dot Runner and Foam Tape. I never get tired of that cityscape, it works for so many different things! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks for coming by today! Have a simple Thursday! 🙂

Oh boy! The week is moving right along isn’t it?! I woke up later than I wanted to today and for some reason that throws off my whole day. I did manage to make a card this morning with Andrea via FaceTime and we chatted about some Design Team things. Before I headed over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte I stopped by my parent’s to see Daniel and Erika was there. It was another rainy day so perfect to sit and discuss lots of things with Renee. We got a lot accomplished and that made me feel better! When I got back home it was time for dinner and mum made beef stew, perfect for a rainy day. After dinner I came home and watched some YouTube videos and did some research on my little project. Soon I will be able to share with you what I have been working on! I hope that when you find out what it is that you are as excited as I am!

No on to today’s post! It’s for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

    PCCCS193 DT Sketch 5-04-2016

As soon as I saw the sketch I knew just what I wanted to do! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a strip of paper from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper Pack across the upper half of the card. My circles are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Circle Loops Craft Dies from, you guessed it, Gold Mirror Card Stock! Sick of it yet?! LOL! I adhered them to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Hello Gorgeous Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed onto a strip of Black 110lb with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. I flagged the left side and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. I didn’t have a gold button so I took one from the giant bin-o-buttons and coated it in Versa-Mark and dipped it in the Gold Embossing Powder. Some Tweezers helped to hold it while I heat set the powder and I had a matching gold button! Some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is tied in a bow and the button is adhered to the greeting strip with a Glue Dot. I just had to use that greeting! I think that it’s so different! This would make a fun wedding card, you could write congratulations on the inside and it would go perfectly with the Sinceriously! I hope that you like my Design Team Card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and take a look at the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so very much for coming by today! Have a wildly wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 46 – Tic-Tac-Toe!

    SIP Challenge 46 – Tic-Tac-Toe!

I hope that your Monday was a good one! It was supposed to rain here all day but instead we got a little reprieve and it was overcast with peeks of sun every now and then. No complaints about that! I had a nice productive day getting some crafting done in the morning via FaceTime with Andrea. I went over to my parent’s for lunch, I had a bagel with Liverwurst! I love Liverwurst, must be the German in me! LOL! some phone calls were up next, eBay about some charges to my account that shouldn’t have been there, I did call previous and they assured me that it would be taken care of, of course it wasn’t! I have also been having issues with my blog since the last WordPress update so I called GoDaddy, the guy tried to be helpful but told me I would have to pay $30 for them to change something that might fix the issue. Umm… I didn’t do anything to make it not work so I don’t think that I will be paying to get it fixed thanks! By some little miracle it seems to be working all on it’s own again (or maybe Trent from GoDaddy fixed it?!)! After that I stopped by Heather’s to drop off the Nespresso that she bought from me. Speaking of Heather it’s her Birthday today!! Happy Birthday Heather!! From there I stopped by Anthony’s to see him and Bill and then I came home and had dinner. Taylor and Kiera stopped by to binge watch some YouTube, some guy that makes things with a Lathe! Sigh! Before calling it a night I ran to Target to get a few things. Today I have lots to do once again, but it’s all good stuff!

It’s Tuesday and we are ready for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week I came up with a Tic-Tac-Toe board (with a little help from Andrea)…

SIP Tic Tac Toe 46 800

I did the left column down! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a strip of Gold Mirror Card Stock down the left side with Scor-Tape. The background is another piece of Ivory 110lb that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Woven Next Lever 3D Embossing Folder. I did it with all tabs open on the Multi-Purpose Platform and still thought the Big Shot would explode! Thankfully it didn’t! The panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My orchid is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Orchid in a Pot Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped it in Unicorn, Bubblegum, Raspberry and Forever Green onto some Blushing Bride using my Mini MISTI. It’s cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Ribbon Messages Stamp and Cut, I stamped it in Raspberry and cut it out with the smaller of the two banners. It too is adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Of course I had to add some Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink and Gold Sequins around the flower! It’s a sympathy card but not a sad one! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has done to inspire you! You can see what our Guest Designer for May, Jan Tinklenberg has to share with you too! Don’t forget to show us your card by posting it in the gallery, we love to see what you come up with! Mojo Monday 446

I had a nice relaxing day yesterday! It felt good to do not too much! I did get my laundry done and managed to get a card made too. Other than that I spent some time watching YouTube and some TV too. It rained all day so it made you not want to do much. I think that it’s supposed to be rainy all week. Hopefully Spring will make a comeback soon! I miss it! Today I have a bunch of projetcs to get through and some other things to do around the house! Today will not be a lazy day! 😀

It’s Monday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Today’s card has lots of gold on it! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the Hero Arts Confetti Bold Prints with some Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto a piece of Desert Storm 80lb and adhered that to the card with E-Z Runner. My greeting, from the Concord & 9th Being Classy Photopolymer Stamp Set, is heat embossed in more Gold onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. I then used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink to add color to the paper blending it to an Ombre look. Along the bottom I adhered a piece of Gold Mirror Card Stock that used the Concord & 9th Bags and Tags Die along the bottom of. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My flowers are from the Concord & 9th Wildflower Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Onyx Black onto another piece of Watercolor Card. I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to color them in and was pleasantly surprised that they didn’t cover up any of the black ink! They are cut out with my Scissors and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A little sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and the card is finished! I love the sentiment panel with the ink blending and the coloring on the flowers is pretty neat! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Design Team has done with the sketch and let’s see you take, Enter your card in the gallery! Thank you for bringing your week here! • Best Copper Pineapple

    Best Copper Pineapple

Do you ever have one of those mornings, you know the I should have just stayed in bed ones?! I woke up yesterday with a raging headache, so I stayed in bed longer than I should have. When I did finally get up did I take aspirin?! Of course not! I like to see if I can wait it out for some reason. To add to the fun my Parents went to PA and no one was around so I walked the mile and a half to the train station. As I was waiting on the platform they announced that the 9:11 to Penn was 6 minutes late at 9:12, no, I think we figured out that it was going to be late, but thanks! I did walk down to the store and stopped at Starbucks for some coffee. When I got to the store with my headphones on, coffee in my hand and keys to get the locks off the gate (still with the headache too!) a woman came up to me and started talking to me. I couldn’t hear her so I told her that and off she went in a huff! Umm, little busy at the moment! Thankfully the rest of the day with Barbara at The Ink Pad was nice. We had a steady flow of customers and I got to meet a blog reader from Vermont by the name of Katie! Thanks so much for saying hi Katie! I left the store and because there are no express Subways on the weekends I missed the 7:12 by one minute! Oh well, I took the 7:22 to Hicksville and my parents came and got me. When I got to their house I had a bologna, cheese on a toasted English Muffin with Mustard for dinner and Taylor and Kiera stopped by. After they left I came home and made my card for today. And my grand total for steps yesterday was 6 miles! YAY!

The card that I made last night is a fun one! I actually won the stamp from Hero Arts in an Instagram contest for Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Day! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Daffodil Delight. The background is a piece of Neenah Desert Storm 80lb with the Hero Arts Pineapple Stamp heat embossed multiple random times in Ranger Copper Embossing Powder. I heat embossed the image again onto a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper and colored it in with my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. It’s matted with a piece of Cucumber Crush and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The greeting is also heat embossed in Copper using a stamp from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set onto Black 110lb and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I think that Pineapple Stamp is pretty cool! Thanks so much for that and the Ink Pad Hero Arts! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you for coming by to catch up and I wish you all a very relaxing Sunday! 🙂

Hi there and a happy Saturday to you! I had yet another fun day at The Ink Pad! Anna was back! It’s was great to see her and despite the circumstances she had a nice trip. She brought me back some really cool prezzies too! So very nice for her to think of me while she was away! I walked over to the Post Office to drop off some packages and then stopped by Chop’t to pick us up lunch. I was fortunate enough to get the 7:11 train home and I went up to Syosset to meet up with some friends for Anthony’s Birthday! It was so much fun to see everyone, my friend Fred was there along with Danielle, her boyfriend Derek, Mum Donna, Sister Stephanie and her boyfriend Matt and my friend Paul! We laughed and celebrated the birthday boy! Can’t wait to make plans with them to go out over the summer! This morning I’m heading back into Manhattan for another lovely day at The Ink Pad with Barbara!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 234

I actually had started to make the card the other day and all I had left to do was to decided what I wanted to do for the sentiment! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Full Card Triangles Die to cut out a piece of Black 110lb along with the left side cut from Gold Mirror Card. They are adhered to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Real Red that is adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Definitely a very simple card but I love the Gold Mirror triangles inside the Black frame with all of the White along with the nice pop of Red! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thanks for visiting with me today! Have an interesting Saturday! 🙂

    Fab Friday 86

Another nice day off! I got some more of my stuff accomplished! Feels good to get things done! In the morning I ran Brian to Northport to drop off his truck so he could have all of the Fire Department stuff taken out of it. His new truck is finally coming in a few day so he has to get the old one ready to trade in. From there I dropped him off at home and then stopped by my parent’s to see Daniel, it’s been a while since I have seen him and he is still just as cute as ever! I’m really enjoying the new Ninja Coffee Bar, I made a cappuccino that was excellent and can’t wait to try out some more drinks! This morning I’m off to Manhattan for another day at The Ink Pad. Anna is back so it will be good to see her and I’m working with Barbara! Tonight is my friend Anthony’s birthday get together and I’m hoping that I will be home in time to go for a little while!

It’s time once again for a Fab Friday challenge! This time we have some colors…

    Fab Fri 86 4-29-2016

My card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Hello Honey. I then trimmed a piece of Soft Sky to 4″ wide and used the Gina Marie Designs Falling Snow Background Die to cut out a piece of Crumb Cake. I tore the piece and then adhered it to the Soft Sky. That is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I had Googled a beach and when the tide comes in it sometimes leaves a little foam along the shore so I used my Marvy Snow Marker and my Heat Tool to add some. The starfish is from the Picture Perfect Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Sky and Bermuda Bay. It’s cut out with Scissors and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. For the greeting I used the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Craft Die to cut out a piece of Hello Honey and Fun Foam. They are adhered to each other and the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally I added a healthy dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the Starfish. I do think that the “Snow” looks like the foam and that the falling snow looks like bubbles on the sand. You’ll have to let me know if you agree! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Check out the rest of the Team’s projects on the BLOG and enter your creation in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

Oh did I enjoy my day off yesterday! I got a few projects finished in the morning while FaceTiming with Andrea. My haircut appointment was at 2:00 and I had to stop at the Post Office to drop off a package on my way. Sometimes it feels so good to get a haircut! I even made my next appointment! From there I came back home and watched a few YouTube videos. Heather stopped by at 4:30 and got me so that we could run to Century21. She had to get a dress for a wedding that she has to go to on Friday night and I wanted to get shoes. I have been looking for comfortable ones, sneakers, but I just don’t like the way they look on me! I ended up getting a pair of Converse. Not super comfortable but I do love them! I have also been looking for ways to save money. One big expense for me each month is coffee! I have a Keurig and I go through about 6-8 K-Cups a day! That gets really expensive! I researched the Ninja Auto iQ Coffee Bar and it had some good reviews. It also uses regular ground coffee which is much cheaper than K-Cups so I got one from BJ’s for $129. I have to say that I made a travel mug size with some Starbucks Espresso Roast Coffee and it was quite delicious! I’ll keep trying different things with it and decide if it will help me out with the money savings in the long run! Hopefully it will! Today I’m going to try and run over to see Renee for a bit and then it’s Thirsty Thursday! Can’t wait to see the gang later on!

I got my new Simon Says Stamp Monthly Kit and decided to play with it to make my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #292

My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White Card Stock. I cut three strips of paper, two from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad and one from a piece of Soft Sky. They are all adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. The sun, cloud, speech bubble and greeting are all from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Days Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the sun and speech bubble on Daffodil Delight and the cloud on Vellum with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The greeting is stamped in Onyx Black and I cut them all out with my Scissors. On the cloud and the sun I colored in the cheeks with a Copic and then went over the eyes with a Sakura Black Gel Pen. The cloud is then adhered to the back of the sun and some Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape and regular Foam Tape adheres them and the speech bubble in place. It needed something else so I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Summer Mix Sequins, that definitely helped! LOL! I love the simplicity of all of the images in the stamp set and the really neat little tiny greetings too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thank you for taking a little time out of your busy day to stop by and see me! Have a simply wonderful Thursday! 🙂

Is it Friday yet?! It seems like it should be! LOL! Yesterday was a long day! I did have a nice time at The Ink Pad with Barbara and I got to have my Chop’t salad again! YUM! Class was nice with Caitlyn, if she does another Hand Lettering class I’m definitely going to take it! I got home around 11:00 last night and was done! I could’t wait to crawl into bed! Today I have a lot of my stuff to catch up on. Lot’s of stuff actually! Hope I can get through it all!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

    PCCCS192 DT Sketch 4-27-2016

Yup, there is that Goldfish again! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I stamped some of the images from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink. More of the bubbles are then heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Vellum that I flagged on the right. My goldfish is from the same set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Slate and Black Ink and then stamped again with the first layer of the stamp in Versa-Mark and heat embossed in Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. My scissors cut him out, although I did finally get the dies! The greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and heat embossed in more White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb. I used E-Z Runner and Foam Tape to adhere everything together and then to attach it to the card. To enhance the bubbles I added some Pretty Pink Posh Ocean Spray and Sparkling Clear Sequins. And I’m still enamored with that goldfish, I do think that I like him in the back the best! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge!
