    Peeps Sugar Shaker

Well, it was a little cold here yesterday but nice and sunny! Today we are supposed to get up into the high 40’s and tomorrow we should make it into the 50’s! I spent most of the day crafting. In the afternoon I had to run to Michaels and pick up some felt for a project and Taylor was working so I waited for her to get off work and her mum came up to meet her too. I stood and talked to Leigh for a while, we haven’t seen each other since the summer. After that I came back home and FaceTimed with Andrea and finished some projects. Heather stopped by and picked me up around 4:45 and we ran to BJ’s and Target. When she dropped me off I had dinner and then I watched Pink’s The Truth About Love concert on MTV2. I would like to fly around the audience like she does! LOL! This morning I’m off to Manhattan to visit my friends Jim and Diane. After that I’m going to go down to The Ink Pad to drop off my Hero Arts cards and see Barbara for a little bit before I head back home.

I got my Simon Says Stamp Monthly Card kit the other day and a card popped into my head so that’s what I have to share with you today. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my MISTI to stamp the background with the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp in Lake Shores. To make my frame I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched and 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles to cut out another piece of Solar White 110lb, Acetate and a piece of Solar White 80lb. The Acetate is adhered to the frame with Scor-Tape and then I added a layer of Foam Tape to the back of the frame. My Peeps are from the Simon Says Stamp My Kind of Peep Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped also with the MISTI in Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini, Mint Candy and Duckling. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. I tried a few different ways to add some “sugar” to them and wasn’t happy with any. You can see them here:

    Sugared Peeps Fail

The middle one was the best but the clear glitter was still a bit too big. Instead I added the glitter to the shaker. I adhered the Peeps to the backing piece with E-Z Runner, filling in their eyes with a Black Gel Pen, and then added the glitter to the framed piece and adhered the two together. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black and added to the acetate with Foam Tape. Finally the shaker is adhered to the card with more E-Z Runner and the card is done. I wanted it to look like a box of Peeps and I guess that all of the sugar has fallen off of them?! LOL! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you, as always, for taking some time to come by and check in! Have a stupendous Saturday! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Freshly Made Sketches 225

Hmm… what’s today? Well, I think that it’s Friday! YAY! Yes, it’s still my favorite day of the week and probably always will be! I had a Doctor filled day with Heather yesterday. We went for her consult in the morning and then some x-rays and a further consult. After that we hadย Subway and then it was off for an MRI and CT Scan. I said to her with all of the radiation she had she should glow in the dark last night! When I got home I FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit before I went over to my parent’s for dinner with Daniel and my brother. Daniel didn’t want any of his dinner except for the breadstick! He can be such a fussy butt sometimes! Some TV was on the menu for lastย night and my mum text me to tell me that Kelly Clarkson was on American Idol and was going to singย so I turned it on. She sangย Piece by Piece and Keith Urban and I both cried! It was such a sad song, but I love when music can move you like that. Today I’ll be crafting, lots of goodies to get made and a nice way to spend a Friday!

My card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 225

I needed to just stamp! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The set that I used for all of my flowers and leaves is the Hero Arts Color Layering For You Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed what would normally be the top image in Ranger Gold Embossing Powder onto Solar White 80lb and adhered that to the card to serve as my background. What would usually be the middle layer is stamped in Hero Arts Light to Dark Peach Ombre Ink with the leaves stamped in Hero Arts Lime to Forever Green Ombre Ink randomly on some more Solar White 80lb. I backed it with a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner Adhesive. My greeting is the Hero Arts A Bit of Kindness Wood Mount stamped again in the Light to Dark Peach Ombre and backed with a piece of Lucky Limeade. Some more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner adheres that to the card. I had to add some Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Tangerine and Lime Sorbet Sequins to give the card a little bit of sparkle! It felt good to just stamp and use a color layering set in a different way too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you very much for stopping by for a little Friday fun! Have a fantastic day! ๐Ÿ™‚

Did we have some wicked storm here last night! Thunder, lightning and lots of wind! I went over to Heather’s and when I went to leave at 12:00 I had to make a run for the car and sit it in when I got home for a bit. Crazy! Yesterday I did do some more crafting and I went over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a little while. When I got home I FaceTimed with Andrea and made a card, I also got my cards completed for the Hero Arts class at The Ink Pad, love the way they turned out! While I was at Heather’s last night Michael called and I got to catch up with him. I needed his opinion on a few things and he was very helpful as always. This morning I’m going to take a ride with Heather to the Doctor so she can find out what else can be done about her back. Hopefully she won’t need surgery.

For today’s card I have one for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #283

What a fun challenge! I have a Mama Elephant set that I have been wanting to use and this was just perfect for it! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I used my Corner Chomper to round all of the corners. The frame is a piece of Black 110lb cut out with the Mama Elephant Framed Tags – Madison Avenue Creative Cuts. I added a piece of Acetate and a layer of Foam Tape around the frame to create my well for the Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Clear Seed Beads that I filled it with. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb, I stamped the rays from the Mama Elephant Sunny Skies Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Duckling Ink. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black Ink and the panel is adhered to the frame. I then adhered the whole thing to the card with E-Z Runner Adhesive. The balloons and clouds are also from the same set. My balloon is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue, the basket in Khaki and the clouds in Smoke. I used the coordinating Creative Cuts to cut them out and then adhered them to the shaker window with Foam Tape. For a little shine I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the balloon. I love that frame with the scalloped edge and double stitching, the stamp set is fun too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! I appreciate you coming by today and I wish you all a terrific Thursday! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Paper Craft Crew 183

I don’t know about you but this week is just flying by, I can’t believe that it’s Wednesday already! It was a little rainy and overcast here all day yesterday and think that we are to have more of the same today. Good days to stay in and craft which is exactly what I did yesterday. I had Daniel for a little bit in the morning while my mum went for an appointment, he is so good! After that I FaceTimed with Andrea while I worked on cards for my next class at The Ink Pad and also made my card for today! Love it when I get on a crafty roll! Taylor and Keira stopped by for a bit and after they left I crafted some m0re and finished the night off with a little TV! Today I’m thinking that it will be another crafty day, I have loads more projects to get finished!

It’s Wednesday so that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s challenge…

    PCCCS183 DT Colors 2-24-2016

Some colors instead of a sketch this week! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Smoky Slate that I embossed with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, it covers the entire card front. My tag is a piece of Lost Lagoon and I used the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Stamp and some Lost Lagoon Ink to stamp it after I cut it out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Craft Dies. The butterfly and the greeting are both cut from Blackberry Bliss using the Simon Says Stamp Leanna Butterfly and Small Hello Craft Dies. Before I adhered the butterfly I cut out a piece of Vellum with the Simon Says Stamp Calliope Flourish Craft Die. That and the hello are adhered to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium and then the tag is adhered over some leaves that are cut from Old Olive with the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves Craft Die. A piece of Papertrey Ink Natural Hemp Twine is tied through the top of the tag and some Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets are added for a little shine! I first tried the tag without the stripes and it needed something, I love how a simple stripe can change the whole look of a card! SIP Challenge 36 – Card Maker’s Choice!

What a nice day at Scrap-A-Latte! I FaceTimed with Andrea and I got to meet some new people that came in to buy stuff, sold a lot of Lawn Fawn yesterday and I got my sets to start making the cards for next month’s class! Speaking of next month’s class, I’m pondering an idea of how I can bring the class to you! I’ll let you know when I have more info! I also started working on my card for today while I was there. After I locked up the store I stopped by Aldi, it’s a new supermarket that we have here, they also have them in England! I got some K-Cups for $4.29 for 12 and Italian Sweet Cream Coffee Creamer for $2.19! Not too bad! When I got back home I watched a little TV and then sat down to finish putting my card together for today!

The card that I worked on yesterday is for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

    SIP Challenge 36 - Card Maker's Choice 800

I used one of the new Lawn Fawn sets to make today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I cut out two pieces of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles. On the one I used Stormy Sky and Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. The other one I used to cut out the waves with the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Borders and the clouds with the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders. On the waves I used Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. I then took the background and the waves and spritzed them with some water, let it sit for about 30 seconds and then blotted it off with a paper towel. Before adhering the waves and clouds to the card with Foam Tape I heat embossed the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The Loch Ness Monster is from the same set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics, some Multi-Matte Medium adheres him to the card. You know that sequins make everything better so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear ones on the waves! I love the Loch Ness and I think he’s too cute to call a monster in this case! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Make sure and check out the rest of the Team’s cards over on the BLOG and we hope to see one from you in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today! Have a creative Tuesday! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Mojo Monday 436

Here we go again, it’s Monday! I enjoyed my time in Manhattan yesterday visiting Jon and Mary in the morning and then meeting up with Kim at The Ink Pad. I got some new Mama Elephant and then we headed over to the Greenwich Village Antiquarian Book Fair. It was nice to see all of the old books and they had so many that were signed copies. From there we went to A Salt & Battery for some fish and chips for lunch, delicious! I got the train from Penn Station and was home by 4:00. Heather text me and asked me to meet her at Wise Eyes to help her pick out new glasses. They wanted $440 for the frames and lenses! I told her that we should go to Warby Parker in the city, the glasses there are either $99 or $129 for everything! We’re going to take a ride in on Wednesday evening. Taylor and Keira stopped by for a little bit and I watched some TV before calling it a night. Today I’ll be at Scrap-A-Latte all day so come by and say hi if you are in the area!

The best part about Monday is that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

    Mojo436Sketch

As soon as I saw the circles I thought shaker card! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of paper form the Studio Calico Atlantic Collection 6×6 Paper Pad and used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to cut it out. To cut my four circles I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. A piece of Acetate is adhered behind the circles with Scor-Tape and then some Foam Tape is used to make the wells. I added some Martha Stewart Iridescent Hearts and Stars Glitter to them and then adhered a piece of Solar White 80lb to the back. On the other side I added some Fun Foam and then adhered the panel to the card with E-Z Runner Grand Adhesive. The stamped greetings are from the Simon Says Stamp Flip Flop Season Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Rosie Cheeks and Lake Shores Ink. I used a 1″ Circle Punch and my Scissors to cut them out and adhered them to the card with more Foam Tape. I added some Glossy Accents to the 100% Happy, Smile and Hello on the paper and the card is finished! I think that patterned paper is pretty cool and lends itself well to the circle shakers! • Scrap-A-Latte February Class Cards!

    Scrap-A-Latte February Class Cards!

Yup, we had nice weather here yesterday! Made it all the way up to 58 degrees! I had a nice time at the swim meet with Brian yesterday morning, it was about 94 degrees in the pool area, it felt like Summer! We went to the diner after and had breakfast and then Brian dropped me back at the house. I finally finished my laundry that I started on Thursday! LOL! Louis came by in the afternoon and he was having iPhone issues so I went to the Apple Store with him and they told him the same thing they told me… restore the phone! He hung out at my house while his pictures backed up. He left around 7:00 so I went over to the ‘rents and had a sandwich for dinner and then came home and crafted for a bit. This morning I’m off to Manhattan to see my friends Jon and Mary and then I’ll see Kim for a little bit before coming home. Hopefully the weather will be nice again!

Today I have the cards that we made at this month’s class at Scrap-A-Latte. We used Reverse Confetti Stamps and Dies and some Hero Arts Ink. My favorite is the shaker! I hope that you enjoy the cards as much as the class did! Thank you for coming by to see them and have a super Sunday! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Freshly Made Sketches 224

Hi there and a happy Saturday to you all! I had a busy day yesterday! I went to see about some potential work in the morning and then stopped by Heather’s after I ran home quick to say hello to Daniel. We had Subway for lunch and I messed around with my new iPhone. Siri wasn’t working and I was trying to avoid erasing the phone and starting over, it took about six hours the day before to put all of my stuff back on it! I was hoping that Apple might have a better solution so I made a Genius Bar appointment for 4:20 and went over to the Walt Whitman Store. They didn’t have any other suggestions so I erased the iPhone and set it up as a new one and that fixed the issue. The rest of the evening was spent adding things back that I use all the time and getting it set up again. Fun! LOL! This morning I’m taking a ride with Brian to go and take one of our friend’s daughters to her swim meet. The rest of the day will hopefully be spent crafting!

Today I have a super simple card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches

    Freshly Made Sketches 224

The card base for this card is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I cut a piece of paper from Blue Fern Studios called Sanctuary to 4″ x 5″ and heat embossed a greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Winter Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set in Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A strip of Early Espresso is cut and the ends angled to be placed under the panel that is adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. All that was left to do is add a few Pretty Pink Posh Sand, Espresso and Aquamarine Sequins to the panel and the card is finished! See, I told you… super simple! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for taking some time to stop by today! Have a super simple Saturday! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Fab Friday 81

Happy Friday! I had another really good week and hope that the same is true for you! Yesterday I ran around taking care of some errands one of which was stopping at the AT&T Store to see what deals they had going on. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they had a buy one iPhone get one free when you start a new line promotion! I got an iPhone 6S Plus and an iPhone 6S for my mum. After all of the setup and switching was done Taylor was quite happy to get my old phone too! From there I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to get ready for Card Class. This morning I have a few things to get done and then I need to find a case for my phone, it freaks me out to have it all naked!

Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

    Fab Fri 81 2-19-2016

I had watched a video that Jennifer McGuire posted for Simon Says Stamp the other day where she added an acetate panel to her card so I thought I would give it a try! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I trimmed out 2 inches from the front and replaced it with a piece of Acetate. It’s adhered to the card front with Scor-Tape and then a piece of Soft Sky is adhered over the top of that. I then stamped the card front with the birch tress from the Mama Elephant Winter Wonderland Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink. On the inside of the card I stamped the wreath from the Mama Elephant Charmed Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black along with more images from the set on a piece of Solar White 80lb. They are all colored in with my Copics and the owl, banner, ribbon, heart and flower are cut out with the Coordinating Charmed Creative Cuts and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I really like that acetate panel in card front with the wreath underneath, makes for a nice change from a standard card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! Take a minute to stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Team has to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today! I do love a day in Manhattan! It was overcast but not too cold. The trains were somewhat on-time, which rarelyย happens as of late! I spent the morning with Anna and Barbara at The Ink Pad. While I was there Effie from The Ton Stamps stopped in. She is such a nice person! We chatted about crafty stuff and I told her how much I enjoy her little brush lettering videos on Instagram. Around 1:00pm I made my way up to see Isabella. She is another really nice and funny person. I’m pretty lucky with all of the people that I have in my life! We got caught up and she had an appointment so I headed back to Penn around 4:00 and caught the 4:31 home, had some dinner and then chatted with Andrea for a bit before sitting down to make today’s card. This morning I must do some laundry, I’m almost out of clothes! LOL!

The card that I made last night is forย this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #282

Ahh, I love it when the spring colors start making a comeback! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped some images from the Hero Arts Color Layering Let Love Grow Photopolymer Stamp Set in Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Tangerine Tango right on the card front. A piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies and I heat embossed the greeting from the same set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Another flower and set of leaves from the set is cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the tag. Some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is tied through the top and then the tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and Pearls to the middle of all of the flowers to finish off the card. I love the subtleness of the flowers with nice pop of the black tag! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have an awesome Thursday! ๐Ÿ™‚
