Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Mixed Media!

Happy Monday! I trust that you all had a nice weekend! I did! Yesterday I went out East with a friend, we had lunch by a stream and then stopped in Port Jefferson on the way back. It was the perfect day for a road trip in the convertible! I also picked up a Rhubarb Pie, my Great Grandmother used to grow Rhubarb and makes pies when I was little! The pie wasn’t as good as hers but it definitely brought back memories! 😀

It’s release day over at Concord & 9th so that means that it’s time for a new challenge over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th blog…

I got use one of the NEW Stamp and Die Sets from this month’s release to make my card! I also dug out some Glitter Paste and used a lot of pink and a little ribbon, now there are a few things I don’t often use! My background is a piece of Iridescent Pink 65lb Card. I used my Palette Knife to add Bo Bunny Sugar Glitter Paste through the Concord & 9th Retro Petals Turnabout Stencil and set it aside to dry. From the Concord & 9th Laurel Frame Photopolymer Stamp Set I stamped the wreath in Jalapeño and Noble Fir and the flowers in Ballet Slippers, Peachy Keen and Bubblegum using my Mini MISTI. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. Once the background was dry I added a piece of Stampin’ Up! 1 1/4″ Pink Pirouette Ribbon and adhered it around the back. The background is then added to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To adhere the wreath and flowers I used 3M Foam Tape. Finally, I cut out the hello, also from the Laurel Frames Dies, from more 110lb and used Multi-Matte Medium to add it to the ribbon. The pictures don’t do the Sugar Paste justice, it’s subtle but nice and sparkly!

Mojo Monday 485

It was the most glorious day here yesterday! It got up to 65 degrees and it was nice and sunny! We had a fun day at the Store. Renee and Angie had their tag class, I worked on projects and catching up on things. I did sneak out early so I could go for a ride in the convertible! Oh how I love that! After some pizza for dinner Taylor and I watched a movie and then ran to Target. Today apparently is a Holiday, I will be at the store! Renee has her Home Decor Class today, more fun! 😀

It is Monday and that means time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

I’m really into the teals and purples lately and that is evident on today’s card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Concord & 9th Beautiful Words Photopolymer Stamp Set to stamp the outline word beautiful onto a piece of Purple Hearts with some Lawn Fawn Sugarplum Ink repeatedly to create a background and adhered it to the card. On top of that is a piece of Bo Bunny Believe Devotion 12×12 Paper with a piece of American Crafts Peacock Glitter Tape adhered across the bottom. I slipped a piece of American Crafts Purple Baker’s Twine behind the stamped background and tied it in a bow. My flagged piece of Tropical Sea has the solid beautiful heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder across the top and the YOU is die cut from Cyber Grape using the Concord & 9th Beautiful You Dies. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My butterfly is cut from more Cyber Grape using the Concord & 9th Floral and Flutter Dies. I adhered it with a sliver of a 3D Foam Square and fluffed up the wings and antenna. Some Pretty Pink Posh Enchanted Garden Sequins complete the card. Fab Friday 105

Yay! It’s Friday! We had a busy week at the Stores. Today was Home Decor Project make up day and I had my Make-n-Take. There was also an impromptu Cricut class, I now have taught myself how to use one! LOL! When I got home I had a little dinner with the Parent’s and then watched some TV. Today, projects as always! Wouldn’t have it any other way! 😀

It’s a double good Friday because it’s time for another Fab Friday challenge…

I have been on a little bit of a Spring /Summer kick lately I know, but I can’t wait for the Winter to be over! The base for today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Bo Bunny Double Dot paper that I found while rummaging through one of Renee’s paper bins. I also cut a piece with the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border Lawn Cut and adhered it across the bottom with some 3D Foam Squares. Next up I used Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon and Spiced Marmalade and my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add color to a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. It’s cut out with the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies with the right side trimmed off before being adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. The flamingo is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Flamingo Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Pink, Bubble Gum, Ultra Pink, Pale Tomato, White Dye and Intense Black using my Mini MISTI. I adhered him to the card with more 3D Foam Squares. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Intense Black with the right side cut at an angle. I added a piece of Black and then adhered the greeting to the card with still more 3D Foam Squares. All that was left to do was to add some Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink and Holiday Shimmer Mix Sequins and the card is finished! I love the nice bold green with the bright yellow and orange behind the bright pink of the flamingo! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! Beautiful Peach Birthday

I got my haircut yesterday morning before heading over to the store. I always feel better after a haircut. Maybe it’s because Jessica makes my hair look good and I can never get it to look like she does! When I got to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store I started to enter some of the new things that I had gotten in and Shopify stopped working! It was a result of the DD0S attacks that were happening. So much fun! It was out for most of the day. Hopefully it will be back up today. Last night’s Card Class was great! I got to see my friends Marissa and Danielle! Daniel and I were at the store late catching up. I hate that I only get to see her once a month. We are going to make a better effort to see each other more often. Today I have three more peeps for Card Class and then some projects to get finished! Should be another fun day!

I had some left over pieces from a card that I made the other day and decided that I would use them to make another card and that’s what I have for you today! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Bo Bunny Soiree 12×12 Paper. I stamped my greeting from the Altenew Painted Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set in Moon Rock Crisp Ink and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My flower and leaves are from the Altenew Beautiful Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flower in Peach Perfect Crisp Ink for the first three layers and then heat embossed the outside layer and leaves in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. They are adhered to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive and 3D Foam Squares. Across the bottom is a piece of American Crafts Gold Glitter Tape and around the flower is a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Gold Sequins. Mojo Monday 463

And it’s time to start another week! I really enjoyed my weekend! We had a nice day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. The Novak sisters came up to work on some projects and I introduced them to the MISTI! We have another Altenew stamping master! Renee worked on her next piece of the Home Decor project and I got caught up on some administrative things. I snuck out a little early and booked my Parent’s trip to Florida. They are going to meet my Aunt, Uncle and cousins from England in Florida. They are leaving on my birthday! Pretty messed up right?! LOL! I also made the mistake of watching the MTV VMA’s, what a horrible production! The performances were ok but the hosts and the fillers were appalling! Maybe I’m just getting old?! Anyway, today I have to start working on my cards for the September Card Class, that will be fun!

Monday, Mojo Monday! YAY! Here is this week’s sketch…

Oh, Tall & Skinny, love them! I started working on my card at the store and assembled it when I got home. My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 1/2″ wide. The background is a piece of Solar White 80lb and that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I added a strip of Bo Bunny Believe 12×12 Paper, with the end flagged, down the right side of the card. Across the card is a piece of Amethyst Stardream Metallic and going across that is a piece of Gold Mirror Card. I stamped my image and greeting from the Altenew Tulip Photopolymer Stamp Set in Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields and Deep Iris for the tulip and Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades for the stem, the greeting is also stamped in Deep Iris. The piece is then backed with a piece of Cyber Grape and Fun Foam and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Pansy Purple, Gold and Lime Sorbet Sequins with Multi-Matte Medium around the tulip and the card is done! I love that beautiful layered tulip and the font in the greeting is perfect for the set! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Hey, hey it’s Wednesday! LOL! I try to think up new ways to start off my posts! It was another very warm day here, still loving it! I got a lot accomplished at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store including making my card for today! Yay for being productive! When I got home I had some dinner and then had a conference call with my friend Greg! After that Louis stopped by for a bit to pick up a Birthday card for his sister. We watched some YouTube and then I ran out to get gas in the car. I like to do it late at night, there are less people and then I don’t have to stop on my way in the morning! All about the planning… right?!

The card that I conjured up at the store is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch…

I wanted bright and fun, you’ll have to let me know know if I was successful! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Cyber Grape Card Stock and flicked some Copic Opaque White onto it. Once it was dry I adhered it to the card base with E-Z Runner. Down the right side is a piece of Bo Bunny Believe 12×12 Devotion Paper and a strip if Gold Mirror Card. My oval is a piece of Tropical Sea Card Stock that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals Stackables. Some Fun Foam and E-Z Runner adheres it to the card. The stamped images are form the Altenew Lotus Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields and Deep Iris and the leaves in Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the oval with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. The hexagon is another piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out with a die from the Spellbinders Hipster 1 Die D-Lites. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black, I flagged the ends and adhered it over the hexagon with Foam Tape. You knew it was coming! LOL! I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Amethyst and Lime Sorbet Sequins for a little more sparkle and the card is done! I love that Lotus Stamp Set and the nice bold colors on the card! Paper Craft Crew 200!

Ahh… Wednesday! Always seems to be the busiest day of the week for me lately! My Tuesday was a pretty busy one too! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was very busy! Renee has been having issues with her Dell Computer running Windows… need I say more?! After about an hour on the phone with Microsoft they finally determined that it was the last update that messed up the computer so we had to roll it back to fix it. I concentrated on getting some more orders in and working with my Rep on a  few things. The weather was just lovely again, the convertible makes me such a happy boy! When I got home from the store Daniel was still at my Parent’s and it was National Selfie Day so he and I haven’t had a selfie in a long time! Here is our contribution…

Oh how I love that little boy! After I had some dinner I headed over to see my friend Sue! She was having some computer issues too so I got that straightened out and we sat and chatted for a bit on the front steps. When I got home I had to finish my card for today, last minute as usual! I need to work on my planning a little more! Today will be super busy at the store! I have Concord & 9th, Altenew and Notions arriving! Just in time for my class tomorrow! YAY!

Today is a special Wednesday post for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge! It’s our 200th one!! I am happy to say that I have been playing along since challenge 7!! Here is this week’s sketch…

I wanted to play with my Hero Arts Seahorse again but I hadn’t used purple in a while so I Googled just to make sure that there are purple Seahorses and there are! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of paper from the Bo Bunny Believe 12×12 Paper Line, it’s the Devotion sheet. Next up I used the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Rectangles Stackables to cut out a piece of Ballerina Pink and Cyber Grape. The pink is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. On my purple piece I used the seaweed from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set and heat embossed them in Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder. That panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I then adhered some purple and silver glitter tape to some Solar White 80lb and adhered that to the card on diagonals crossing each other. A piece of Pale Aqua is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Circles Stackables and adhered to the card with more E-Z Runner. My images are all from the Hero Arts Color Layering Seahorse Photopolymer Stamp Set. The Seahorse is stamped in Passion Flower, Grape Juice and Intense Black, the Starfish in Wet Cement and Cup O Joe and the Shell in Soft Pink and Wet Cement. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the circle. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder on more Ballerina Pink and tucked under the circle. Of course I added some Pretty Pink Posh Silver, Pink Peony and Amethyst Sequins for a little sparkle! I love that patterned paper and the super cool Seahorse! Paper Craft Crew 199

Another busy day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! The weather was just lovely yesterday and it made it a little harder to concentrate! I stopped by my old work to drop a card off for my friend Valerie! It was so good to see her! I was bummed that no one from my old department was there but Nancy was getting an award for something, no surprise there! She is very dedicated to her work! Despite the fact that I kept going outside all day I still managed to get a lot done. I snuck out a little early so I could get to my Parent’s in time to see my little buddy Daniel! We played outside for a bit and then I had dinner, dropped my stuff off at my house and headed over to Heather’s for an early Thirsty Thursday! A good time as always! Today I have a bunch of orders arriving and my friend Sue is going to come by the store and help! That will be fun!

I’m getting in the habit of taking supplies with me to the store so I can work on my cards while I’m there. I look like a bag person when I leave the house in the morning! LOL! Today’s card base is Neenah Solar White 80lb cut to 5″ x 10″ and folded in half. I covered the front with a piece of Battleship Gray. Across the top is a piece of Bo Bunny Toy Box Paper, the Cheerful piece to be exact. In the lower left is a piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out with the Spellbinders Orchard Harvest Tags & Accessories Die. I used my Artisan X-Plorer to cut and emboss it and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner. The flowers and leaves are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Blush, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet Crisp Ink. The leaves are stamped in Hero Arts Lemon and Butter Bar and they are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I used Foam Tape to adhere them to the card. A small flag is cut from a piece of Pink and adhered slightly under the flower at the top. My greeting, from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set, is heat embossed on another piece of Pink and cut out with the Taylored Expressions ? Die. I adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. I decided that it needed a little bling so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets and Gold Sequins. SIP Challenge 52 – Card Maker’s Choice and Year Anniversary Giveaways!

Wow! Now that was a Monday! LOL! There are so many aspects of running a store that are pretty stressful and irritating! But you take the good with the bad! I was a busy little boy at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. I got my cards put up in a display for sale, finally! Remember the store in Wantagh that wanted my cards, well they still want them! I have to find the time to go over and talk to them about that! Now there will be two places that people can buy the cards! Lots of product ordering issues at the store and none of them have easy fixes. Guess you just keep chugging along! When I got home last night I had some spaghetti at my Parent’s and then came home to Taylor watching The X-Files on Netflix. I love that show and have seen every episode! The rest of the evening was spent getting everything together for today’s SIP post! It’s our one year anniversary! I can’t believe that it’s been a year! We have some fun prizes that we are giving away to our three winners this week too! Each of the Design Team members has contributed something! I have added the Lawn Fawn Stinkin’ Cute Stamps and Dies!

While I was at the store yesterday I was going through the stamps that I brought with me and came across this set that I had wanted last year. I decided to do some Ink Blending! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. My background is cut from a piece of 12 x 12 paper, Bo Bunny’s Believe Line the Marvelous piece. All of the images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Stamp & Cut Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp and Dies Set. I heat embossed all of the butterflies in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder on a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. They are colored in with Seedless Preserves and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink using a Dauber. The bodies are stamped in Onyx Black and the they are all cut out using the included Dies. I arranged them on the card and stamped the greeting in Onyx Black and then adhered them all to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Bronze, Ocean Spray Iridescent and Pansy Purple Sequins are scattered about and then card is done! I love those butterflies and I think that they look really cool in the bright colors against that fun paper! Mojo Monday 431

Well, it snowed here last night, bummer! Just a little coating, not a fan at all! I did have a nice day yesterday. I took the furniture over to Heather in the morning and then we came back to my house to get my car, got some gas and headed into Manhattan. Traffic was pretty good on the way in. We picked up Kim and Maggie and headed uptown to go to the Diner. After driving around for about 30 minutes trying to find a parking space we finally gave up and parked in the garage and walked over to the Diner. Kim and Maggie had breakfast and Heather and I had lunch. From there we took Maggie and Kim back to Kim’s and then headed down to The Ink Pad. We found a parking space right around the corner! Jane and Brianna were there and I dropped off my cards and picked up my Finetec Metallic Watercolors from Jane, can’t wait to give them  try! We were back home in less than a hour, not a bad way to spend a Sunday morning! I watched The Imitation Game and then had dinner with my parents. More HGTV was on tap to finish off the day!

The start of another week and time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I went with a wintry birthday card for this week! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of paper from the Bo Bunny Whiteout Collection. I wrapped a piece of Vellum around the right side and adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My Happy Birthday is cut out from a piece of Night of Navy and Solar White 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Circle Craft Die. I adhered them to each other and to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My snowflakes are the Simon Says Stamp Rylynn and Ashlynn Snowflake Craft Dies, one is cut form a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper and a piece of Solar White 80lb and the other from a piece of Solar White 110lb. They are both adhered to the card with Glue Dots. A healthy dose of Pretty Pink Posh Silver, Gold and some Blue Sequins from the Seattle Mix finishes off the card! I love that piece of Bo Bunny Paper with the blues and metallics, so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge!
