I can’t believe that it’s Thursday already!! Not that I’m complaining, but the week seems to be moving along doesn’t it?! I had a nice day at work yesterday. The purchasing manager asked me if I wanted to go on a field trip with her and of course I said yes! We went to Walmart to get supplies to set up an apartment for someone. It was fun with two shopping carts full of stuff that kept falling out! I do love a field trip! When I got home last night I made a card and then went to see Kim and Heather for a glass of wine. Heather and I ran to BJ’s and then I came home and made another card. A little addicted maybe?! LOL!

For today’s post I have my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge from Debbie Carriere…

    Mojo338

I love the tilted panel and the banners but I did have to think about this one for a while. I wanted to use some Sale-A-Bration goodies since sadly it’s almost over. If you want some Sale-A-Bration you have until Monday people! My card starts off with a base of Sahara Sand Card Stock and my tilted background is a piece of Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper. The greeting is from the Simply Celebrate Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black. I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out a piece of Pistachio Pudding and another piece of Sweet Sorbet DSP to create the backdrop for my flowers. The flowers are form the Petal Parade Stamp Set and are stamped in Pool Party and Summer Starfruit, the large one is punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and the smaller one with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. My banners are Pool Party punched out with the Banner Punch. The flowers are from the Banner Blast Stamp Set and are stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe and punched out with the Itty Bitty Shaped Punch Pack. In the middles are Basic Jewels Pearls. A Subtles Designer Series Button with some twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack is adhered to the card with some Mini Glue Dots. I think that I got a good amount of Sale-A-Bration products on the card and the greeting is fun because it looks like it’s written with a marker. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Don’t forget to get your Sale-A-Bration items while you still can! I appreciate you taking some time to come and see what I’m up to and hope that you all have a terrific Thursday! 🙂

So we are less than a week into spring and we got some snow last night. Excuse me, Mother Nature, I think you’re a little confused. Spring is supposed to be flowers and warmer weather, not freezing cold and snow. Let’s get it together! I’ll give you until next week to get this whole thing straightened out. Thanks! LOL! At work yesterday I found myself on a 14 foot ladder putting signs up around the office. There really is no limit to what they’ll have me do there. Last night Andrew stopped by and threatened to make a card again. Stay tuned to see what happens! 🙂

It’s Wednesday and that means I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog with this week’s sketch challenge…

    PCCCS086 3-26-2014

I made another Easter card, I figured it would be good to get some use out the stamp set before the holiday has passed! The base of my card is Tangerine Tango Card Stock. The background is a piece of Island Indigo on the left and some Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper on the right. For the panel in the middle, I used a piece of Gumball Green backed with some Smoky Slate to serve as a base for my three eggs from the Eggstra Spectacular Stamp Set stamped in Island Indigo, Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango. I cheated a little and used the Extra Large Oval Punch to cut out the eggs. Five banners, punched out with the Banner Punch from Tangerine Tango, Gumball Green, Smoky Slate, Crushed Curry and Island Indigo, are adhered underneath the panel which is then mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The little sheep and greeting are also from the Eggstra Spectacular Stamp Set and are stamped in Smoky Slate; the sheep is cut out with my Paper Snips and the greeting with the Word Bubbles Framelits. That Watercolor Wonder DSP works pretty well with everything, don’t you think?! So there is my Easter card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Take some time to stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team members have for you as inspiration and don’t forget to post your card in the gallery so we can see your spin on the sketch! Thanks as always for stopping by today! I hope you have a fun-filled hump day!

  • SUO Challenges 93

Oh Monday why must you be so mean! LOL! Nah, it actually wasn’t too bad for a Monday. Work was the usual crazy and when I got to my parents for dinner my brother, his wife and the baby were there. Oh, and my child was there too! Little Daniel is a cutie, I love his hair and he smiles for me all the time! I posted a picture of him to Instagram last night and it was over on the right on the feed on my blog but for those of you that missed it here he is in all his cuteness!

    Daniel 3-24-2014

And if you look at the pictures in the background they are of Taylor when she was little, she was a cutie too, oh alright she still is!

Before I get to today’s post I was over on Mary Fish’s blog yesterday and I noticed that her supply list was quite neat and cool looking. At the end it said try Stampin’ Buddy free. I clicked on the link and came to a very non-descript page with Demo ID and Product Number spaces. I typed them in and it created a clickable supply list. I’m trying it out and you’ll have to let me know what you think of it!

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our Boxes, Bags and Baskets challenge. I haven’t made a box in a long time so I was quite happy to get to work! My box is made from Wisteria Wonder and Calypso Coral Card Stock. I used my Simply Scored, Paper Snips and Sticky Strip to assemble it. The belly band is a piece of Whisper White and on top is a piece of Wisteria Wonder that I punched out with the Curly Label Punch. I finally got to use my Spiral Flower Bigz Die with some Calypso Coral. The flower is quite easy to make, a run through the Big Shot, some rolling and a bit of hot glue and done! The Easter egg is from the Eggstra Spectacular Stamp Set and is stamped in Wisteria Wonder and punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. Some “Vintage” Wisteria Wonder Bakers Twine holds it in place. I couldn’t just have the box, it needed a little card too. The card is a piece of Whisper White Card Stock with a piece of Calypso Coral  embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. The stamp is also from the Eggstra Spectacular Stamp Set and is stamped in Wisteria Wonder and also punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. My little flowers are Wisteria Wonder punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack with some Basic Jewels Pearls in the middles. The box would make a great place to put some jelly beans which I would have done but I finished the bag the other night! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my project for the SUO Challenges Boxes and Bags challenge. Head on over to the blog to see what my fellow Design Team members have done and enter your project in the gallery for us to see! I hope that you all have a great Tuesday and thank you, as always, for coming by! 🙂

  • Paper Players 188

There is another weekend under our belt. They do go too fast, even with Friday off, but I had a nice one none the less. Yesterday I worked on some projects and organized the craft area which seems to be an ongoing loosing battle! LOL! I just need to take an entire day and go through everything (I may need more than one day!) and put it away. Do you have the same problem, just when you find a place for everything you get some more?! Sigh, there are worse problems right?!?! 🙂

Monday means it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge. This week my clever friend Sandy has a cool sketch for us…

    Paper Players #188

Love the layout and I liked the circles too so I stuck with them! I needed a fun bright card and I think I was successful! The base of my card is Basic Gray Card Stock, you can just see a little bit peeking out the right side. Down the left is a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper for a little sparkle. The background is a piece of Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper that I backed with a piece of Whisper White to make it a little more stable. My greeting is from the Geometrical Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black, I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the panel to the card. The Strawberry Slush and Basic Black circle outlines are cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits. My black circle has a piece of vellum behind it and in the middle is an ampersand cut out from some Bermuda Bay using the Typeset Alphabet Bigz Dies. The Smoky Slate circle is punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and has some embossing paste that I tinted with some Bermuda Bay Re-Inker. Last up is one of the triangles from the Geometrical Stamp Set stamped in Crushed Curry and punched out with the Triangle Punch. So what do you think? Is the card fun and bright?! You’ll have to let me know! I do hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from Sandy. Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday! 🙂

  • Retro Scallop Garden Thanks

Wow! Sunday already?! Time is just chugging along! LOL! I had a nice day yesterday, I got some projects finished in the morning and then headed into Manhattan with Anthony and Bill to see Harmony Sweepstakes at the Miller Theater at Columbia University. We had a great time and it was sold out! Andrew and his group Satellite Lane won Audience Favorite for the second year in a row! They also won for best choreography! Congratulations to them on two well deserved wins! We hit up the diner after and I had some pancakes, haven’t had those in a while! I did manage to snap two quick pictures, the first one is of the outside of the theater…

    Miller Theater

And here is of one of the statues that stands outside a set of gates next to the theater. If you click on the picture and look he has six toes, I thought that was interesting!

    Columbia University Statue

Every so often when I’m working on a project I stop for a bit and make a just for fun card. I know, it’s odd that when you are working on craft projects that you would stop and make another one to take a break but that’s what I do! Today’s card is one of those.

The card uses a base of Whisper White Card Stock and I covered the entire front with a piece of Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper. Two strips of Retro Fresh Designer Washi Tape go across the bottom. The tag is made using the Scallop Tag topper Punch. I trimmed the sides off to get a thinner tag and stamped the tag with one of the Paper Pumpkin Stamps in Gumball Green. The flower and leaves are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set and are both cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits. The leaves are stamped in Gumball Green and the Flower is heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Daffodil Delight and sponged with some White Craft Ink. My greeting is from the Oh, Hello Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Tangerine Tango on a piece of Vellum Card Stock and adhered just under the flower. The tag has some White Bakers Twine on the top and Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. I really am having fun with Vellum lately, it adds so much to a card. I also like the subtle background with the bold colors. I hope you enjoyed today’s just for fun card! I appreciate your taking some time to come and see what I’m up to and hope you have a lovely Sunday! 🙂

  • Pals Paper Arts 196

The weekend is better when it starts a day earlier! I had a nice day yesterday, I did manage to get all of the stuff done that I wanted to. I even got to have lunch with my friend Kim and that was nice. Heather and I went to dinner last night to celebrate a friends birthday with a bunch of people. We had a great time, there was even some fire pit afterwards! Tonight Andrew’s group Satellite Lane is competing in the Regional Harmony Sweeps in Manhattan, that should be fun! Wish them luck!

For today I have my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts challenge. This week we have a sketch from Margaret Moody…

    PPA 196

As you all know I have been having lots of fun playing with my E-Cutter. Mainly I have used it to cut out greetings but today I tried something a little different. My card starts off with a base of Real Red Card Stock. My background is a piece of paper from the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack, adhered over to the left to go with the sketch. For my greeting I choose a stamp from the Everyday Occasions Card Kit and stamped it in Coastal Cabana on Whisper White and backed it with a piece of Baked Brown Sugar. That large triangle is from the Geometrical Stamp Brush Set and is resized and cut out with my E-Cutter. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals pieces adhere it to the card. It really is quite cool what detailed and crisp cuts you can get using a Stamp Brush Set and the E-Cutter. I love the way the triangle looks over the DSP! I hope that my foray into using my E-Cutter inspires you to give it a try and that you enjoyed today’s card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge. Thanks so much for visiting me today, have a super Saturday! 🙂

  • Freshly Made Sketches 128

A very happy Friday to you! It is extra happy for me because I’m off from work today. I needed a mental health day! I also have a lot of things that I need to get done and the best time for me to do that is when everyone thinks I’m someplace else! LOL! Yesterday was pleasant but windy and today is supposed to be nice. I plan to get lots of things done today, wish me luck! Tonight I’ll be out to dinner with Heather which is always a good time! What’s going on by you for this evening?

My card today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. I want to thank the talented Amy for picking me as her Perfect Prince for last week’s challenge! You can see my original post HERE and the Freshly Made Sketches winners post HERE. This week we have a super simple sketch from clever Rita…

    Freshly Made Sketches #128

I looked at it and put the card together in my head! Love that! My card starts off with a base of Basic Black Card Stock. Another piece of Basic Black serves as the base for me to adhere some Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum and Modern Medley Designer Series Paper to. A piece of Brushed Silver Metallic goes across the middle. I used some more of the Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum and my Envelope Punch Board to crate the bow. Some more Brushed Silver Metallic holds it together and a Mini Glue Dot adheres it to the band. My greeting is from the Label Card Thinlits Dies and is cut out from a piece of Silver Foil Sheet and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Not an overly complicated card but I love the softness that the vellum provides, especially to the bow. The two different finishes on the silver give it just a little sparkle and shine. I also didn’t realize until I was finished that there is no stamping on the card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Thank you so much for coming by to see what I’ve been up to and have a wonderful Friday, I know I will! 🙂

  • Control Freaks March Blog Tour!

    freakwelcome2013

It’s that time again! Welcome to this month’s Control Freaks Blog Tour! This month our theme is Spring/Easter. Speaking of Spring, I’m hoping that the weather cooperates, I’m pretty done with Winter as I’m sure that all of you are too! If you are following the tour you have arrived here from the talented Debbie Henderson’s blog. This month I have two cards and one fun project inspired by friend Nicole from work.

Up first I have a fun bright card that definitely feels like Spring. The card base is a piece of Whisper White Card Stock. I took another piece of Whisper White and stamped it with the Simple Stems Stamp Set in Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and Perfect Plum randomly. Next up is a piece of Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper. My greeting is from the Memorable Moments Stamp Brush Set and cut out from a piece of Elegant Eggplant with my E-Cutter. The you is from the Countless Sayings 1 Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Elegant Eggplant.  I used the 3/16″ Corner Rounder on the corners of the DSP and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My flagged piece of Whisper White is stamped with a stamp from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set in Perfect Plum. A piece of twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack is tied in a bow and adhered with a Mini Glue Dot. To finish the card I used the 1″ Circle Punch to punch out a piece of Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper. In the middle is a piece of Elegant Eggplant, punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and I used some Crystal Effects on it to give it some shine.

CF March Blog Tour Card 1-WM

Next up is a card that reminds me of a country picnic. The base is Daffodil Delight Card Stock, a piece of Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape goes across the top. Some Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper Is flagged and also used for the center of the Tea Lace Paper Doily, punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. The tag is from the Notable Notions Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo. I used the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies to cut it out and stamped the flowers from the Springtime Hello Stamp Set, stamped in Pear Pizzaz. Tucked under the tag is a piece of 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon that is flagged too. My greeting is also from the Notable Notions Stamp Set, I stamped it in Night of Navy on one of the Essentials Wooden Elements. Love that it fits right on there!

My final project is the one that I mentioned was inspired by my friend Nicole. She came into work one day with her Country Living Magazine and showed me this neat project. It was a set of coasters made from Mason Jar lids with some cork that was stamped with Staz-On. I thought they were so cool and would make a fun gift. I found some lids on Amazon and I already had a ton of the adhesive cork sheet. I cut the cork sheet out using my Circles Collection Framelits. The images are from the By the Tide Stamp Set and are stamped in Jet Black Staz-On. I decided that they needed to be dressed up a bit so I used one of the Mini Muslin Bags and stamped the lobster from the same set in Cherry Cobbler. My tag is made with the Angled Tag Topper Punch and still more of the stamps are stamped in Marina Mist, Soft Suede and Smoky Slate. I slid the coasters in and tied the tag to the bag. Pretty neat little gift right?! Nicole thought they were!

Have I mentioned that it’s still pretty cold here?! I’m hoping that when the first day of Spring arrives that weather just changes! What do you think the chances of that happening are?! I can always hope! LOL! Yesterday is a bit of a blur, work was busy and I came home and worked on some projects and by the time I looked at the time it was 9:30. My neck is feeling a little better, I followed some advice from Grace and it helped immensely! Thanks! 🙂

It’s Wednesday so that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

My obsession with tags continues! LOL! The base of today’s card is Pool Party Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper Pack. My tag is created with the Angled Tag Topper Punch and some Whisper White. I stamped the images from the Petal Parade Stamp Set in Pistachio Pudding, you can also just see one of the flowers, stamped in Summer Starfruit, peeking out from underneath. My bird is from the Backyard Basics Stamp Set, stamped in Basic Black on Sahara Sand and cut out with the Backyard Basics Framelits. I used my Pool Party, Crisp Cantaloupe and Summer Starfruit Stampin’ Write Markers to give him some color. A piece of twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack is threaded through the top and left long to give it some “movement”. Tucked under the tag is a piece of Vellum Card Stock that I flagged and the greeting that is form the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set stamped in Basic Black. To finish the card I used one of the In-Color Boutique Details Buttons. So what do you think? I love that little bird and we already covered the tags! LOL! Monday’s really aren’t my favorite day of the week, you all know what day that is! Yesterday wasn’t too bad for a Monday, work was tolerable and I had a relatively relaxing evening. I got some projects done last night and am making some progress which is always good! I did do something to my neck last week and it’s getting progressively worse. I think I may actually have to pay a visit to the Chiropractor. I’m not a big fan of doctors, I think I have been maybe 2 times in the past 12 years. We’ll see how I feel by lunchtime! I’m glad that you all enjoyed the pictures and my project yesterday! I enjoy wandering around the city looking for things to take pictures of to share with you!

Before we get to today’s card here are the weekly deals from Stampin’ Up!:

Today I have my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. This week’s sketch is provided by Teresa Kline…

Some panels for a nice simple sketch! I almost forgot that there are less than two week’s left for Sale-A-Bration! Boy did that go fast! I used some of my favorite Sale-A-Bration goodies on my card today! The base of the card is Pool Party Card Stock. I used some paper from the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper pack for the two panels. The larger one is backed by a piece of Pistachio Pudding. My greeting is from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black and backed with a piece of Basic Black. The arrows, stamped in Sahara Sand and flower, stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe are from the Petal Parade Stamp Set. My flower is punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. In the middle is a piece of Summer Starfruit that I punched out with the Boho Blossom Punch and three Basic Jewels Pearls are in the middle. Some random matte black sequins scattered around compete the card. I really think that the Sale-A-Bration products this year are some of the best we have had, don’t you?! I thank you as always for stopping by to see my Mojo Monday sketch challenge card, I hope you enjoyed it and that you have a great day! 🙂
