Paper Craft Crew #7 Sketch Challenge

Hello all and a good Saturday morning to you. I had a very nice day with my cousin yesterday. We went shopping and had some Sonic for lunch. I got one of the balance ball chairs for my craft desk. I see a problem with it all ready though, it’s very bouncy and unknowingly I am bouncing on it all the time!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge. I mentioned last week that I was asked to be on the design team and this week is my first week participating as a designer! Thanks again to Pam for asking me to be a member. I’m so happy and can’t wait for the blog relaunch at the end of October. In the mean time why not head on over and post your card in this week’s challenge?! This week we have a sketch challenge…

I had a lot of different ideas as to what I was going to do but after I settled in the rosette the rest of the card just fell into place. The base of the card is Island Indigo Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. A piece of Very Vanilla I stamped with the Travel Journal Builder Wheel in Crumb Cake, the gears from the Clockworks Stamp Set in Basic Gray and the greeting from the Word Play Stamp Set stamped in Island Indigo creates the piece on the right. A piece of Island Indigo 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon and a Round Designer Ribbon Slide is placed just below the middle of the card and adhered around the back with some Sticky Strip before it is attached to the card. Two pieces of Island Indigo are flagged and attached to the upper left corner. The rosette is made with Fan Fair Designer Series Paper and my Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I stamped the pocket watch in Basic Gray and Island Indigo and then cut it out with my Paper Snips. The rosette and watch are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Island Indigo and Crumb Cake are one of my favorite color combinations and I love the Clockworks Stamp Set. I hope that you enjoyed my first card for the Paper Craft Crew as a design team member and that you will join this week’s challenge. I can’t wait to see what you do with the sketch! Thank you, as always, for stopping by and have a creative day! 🙂

Happy Friday everyone! I’m extra happy today because I took the day off from work! My cousin and I are going to spend the day together. We are going to do some shopping and have some lunch, it will be a great day! This week I really loves me some Friday!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a color challenge…

When I first saw the colors I thought Halloween then I decided instead to go with a sort of longing for spring look. The base of my card is Tangerine Tango Card Stock. The stamped images are all from the Daydream Medallions Stamp Set and are stamped in Rich Razzleberry and Tangerine Tango. I used the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies to cut them all out in different sizes. I then mounted them all to each other with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then to a piece of Lucky Limeade that I also cut out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. Then I used the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on it before adhering it to the card with some SNAIL. The greeting is from the Perfectly Penned Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and cut out with my Paper Snips. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut out another piece of Lucky Limeade and cut off the top and bottom of the piece. The Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool is used to pierce the sides and then both pieces are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a little bling I added a Vintage Faceted Designer Button and a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper punched out with the 3/8″ Circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and adhered it to the card with some Mini Glue Dots in the center of the “flower”. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge. Thanks so much for checking in and have a great day! 😉

Freshly Made Sketches 1 Year Anniversary!

Good morning everyone and welcome to Thursday! I hope everyone had a nice day yesterday I certainly did. I got loads of birthday wishes here on my blog and on Facebook, some really nice cards and I ate way too much cake! And it’s not over yet, it continues on Saturday with a celebration in Manhattan with my friend Kim and my cousin Tracy. 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. They’re celebrating their one year anniversary. Congratulations to all the ladies over at Freshly Made Sketches on your first year. To celebrate they are allowing you go back through all this previous sketches and pick your favorite one. I chose number seven because I thought it was different and kind of neat…

The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I use the piece of designer series paper from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Pack and I cut two pieces of Early Espresso with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies for each side and adhered them to the card with SNAIL. The greeting is from the Keep Calm Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo. I stamped the image again in Cherry Cobbler and cut out the “and” and flagged the ends. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the greeting that is then mounted to a piece of Cherry Cobbler. The stamps are from the Postage Due Stamp Set, a favorite of mine, and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo and Early Espresso. I then punched them out with the Postage Stamp Punch. They are also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I thought the greeting and the stamps together was neat and I love the color combination. I hope you enjoyed thie weeks Freshly Made Sketches card. Thank you for visiting and for all of you birthday wishes and comments. It definitely was a great birthday made a little better by all of you! Have an awesome day!

Happy Birthday…

To me! LOL! So, today is my birthday and I decided to be a ninny and make myself a card! I used some of my current favorite things and some of my favorite neutral colors. The base of the card is Basic Black Card Stock. I used the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on a piece of Basic Gray. Before I adhered it to the card I used a piece of Whisper White 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon with a Round Designer Ribbon Side across the card and adhered it to the back with some Sticky Strip. The happy birthday is form the Memorable Moments Stamp Set and Is stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. It is mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals to a piece of Crumb Cake, also cut out with the Labels Framelits, that I pierced with the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The second greeting/image is from the Convention 2012 Stamp Set I Am… and is stamped and heat embossed the same as the first. For a little bling I used two Basic Jewels Rhinestones above and below the happy birthday. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thanks for visiting with me. Have a “Happy” Day!

Mojo 258

Hello there peeps! How are we doing today? I’m good, my cousin arrived safely and card class was lots of fun last night as always. Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week Julee Tilman has given us this sketch…

What a nice clean sketch! The base of my card is Chocolate Chip Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. Two pieces of Soft Suede are used for the flagged banners across the middle. I used the 1″ Circle Punch, with Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip,  and my paper snips for the semi-circles in the top left. A piece of Sahara Sand is cut out with the Autumn Accents Bigz Die and then stamped with the Wonderfall Stamp Set using my Stamp-a-ma-jig in Chocolate Chip. I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A Naturals Designer Button threaded with some Linen Thread is adhered to the leaf with a Mini Glue Dot. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set. I stamped it in Chocolate Chip and cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. Some more Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. I love all of the rich browns against the bright embossed background and the clean simplicity of the card. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. Thank you very much for checking and have yourselves a great day! 🙂

Paper Players #112

Good Monday morning all. I’m actually liking Monday this week because my cousin comes from England today! As Kathy mention it’s the first time I have ever said that I liked Monday! It’s been two years since I have seen almost to the day. I can’t wait for 5:00! Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Players. It’s sketch number 112 and my birthday is the 12th, coincidence?! This week we have a color challenge…

I’m really liking these colors! I have used the Postage Due Stamp Set a lot, it’s one of my favorites, so I needed to come up with a different way to incorporate it and here’s what I did. The base of the card is Baja Breeze Card Stock. I used the Large Scallop Edgelits Die on a piece of Basic Black and then used the  Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folders to emboss it. I left it a little taller and adhered it to the bottom half of the card. I stamped the large image from the Postage Due Stamp Set in Basic Grey on some linen fabric. I took a piece of Crumb Cake and put Sticky Strip along the edge and pulled the fabric around the back and adhered it. Then I another piece of Crumb Cake cut slightly smaller the the back of that and used some SNAIL in the middle and Multipurpose Adhesive around the edges to prevent the fabric from fraying. I did the same process with one of the stamp images using Baja Breeze and adhered it to the main image with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. To attach it to the card I used some magnetic tape. The greeting is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Grey on Very Vanilla. I flagged the ends and adhered it to the card with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The best part is that you can take the main image off the front of the card and it becomes a refrigerator magnet! I also love the way the images look stamped on the linen. I hope that you enjoyed tis week’s Paper Players Challenge Card and that you are inspired to try something different. Thank you so much for visiting and for you comments. Have an amazing day!

Paper Craft Crew Sketch 6

A good Sunday morning to you all. I had a nice crafty Saturday and today with be laundry and clean the house day. I’m thinking that I will have liked Saturday better than Sunday this weekend! Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew. The blog is in the the process of being revamped and they will have a launch at the end of October. I also have some really exciting news. The owner of the blog, Pam, has asked me to be a member of the design team! Well, I can tell you that I was a little happy to hear that! For my first week playing we have a sketch challenge…

A nice simple layout and I decided to mix some old with some new. The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Soft Suede with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. A piece of Comfort Café Designer Series Paper is mounted to a piece of Pool Party and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals for the next layer. I used the Border Banter Stamp Set, stamped in Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit, and some Very Vanilla to crete the flags. A piece of Summer Starfruit cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlits die is the placed behind the images from the Artistic Etching Stamp Set. They are stamped in Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit. The large lacy circle is cut out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and the crown and amour are cut out with my Paper Snips. They are all mounted to the card with Stampin Dimensionals. I like the mix of the softness of the Comfort Café DSP with the graphic nature of the Border Banter. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge card. Don’t forget to head on over to the blog and see what all of the other talented designers are up to. Hey everyone how are you doing today? It’s Saturday so it must be better than yesterday! I have to get ready for my visitors from across the pond this weekend. I’m looking forward to Monday and seeing my cousin and card class too!

Today’s post is for this weeks Pals Paper Arts. This time we have a color challenge…

I wanted to use something I haven’t used before so I opted for the corn from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set. The base of my card is Elegant Eggplant Card Stock. I used a piece of Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper and the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing tool to pierce around all four sides before I adhered it to the card with SNAIL. The FALL is stamped in Elegant Eggplant using the Lovely Letters Alphabet Stamps. I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies to “pink” the top and bottom before I adhered it to a piece of Elegant Eggplant. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. The images are from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set and are stamped once in Pumpkin Pie and a second time in Lucky Limeade. I used the Cannery Framelits Dies to cut them out and then used my Paper Snips on the Lucky Limeade ones to cut off the corn. The Lucky Limeade pieces are adhered to the Pumpkin Pie pieces with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The words are from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and are stamped in Pumpkin Pie and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and adhered to the corn with SNAIL. I love the little extra that some paper-piercing gives the background and hope that you enjoyed the card too. Thank you for swinging by today and I hope the rest of your Saturday is a good one!

Happy Friday everyone! That was one of the better weeks, mainly because if the lack of working Monday! I was in Manhattan last night seeing some friends and avoiding Fashions Night Out. I also forgot that Thursday is happy hour night, who doesn’t love a train full of drunk people! LOL!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week have a sketch challenge…

Once again, as soon as I saw it I knew exactly what stamp I was going to use! I started with a base of Island Indigo Card Stock. I created a mask and stamped the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Early Espresso on the card. The next layer consists of a piece of Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper mounted to a piece of Early Espresso. I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies to cut the bottom end. A piece of Island Indigo 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon is slid through a Round Designer Ribbon Slide and adhered around the back with Sticky Strip. The panel is then mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the stamped image I used the Heart of Christmas Wood Mount Stamp and stamped it in Island Indigo and again in Cherry Cobbler. I trimmed out the “Christmas” and “that puts christmas in the air” from the Cherry Cobbler image and flagged the ends of the latter. I mounted the cutout pieces to the stamped image with Stampin’ Dimensional pieces. It’s backed by some Cherry Cobbler and mounted to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the finishing touch I used three Metallic 3/16″ Designer Brads across the top right of the panel. I have to say that Heart of Christmas is my favorite wood mount stamp. I think I like the font, I’m a bit of a font junkie. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge card. Thank you so much for checking and keep leaving your comments, I love reading them! Have a crafty kind of day! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #51

Good morning everyone! How are we all faring this week? I’m doing pretty well, although I do feel like I live in a swamp for the past two days. It has been so humid here on Long Island and we have had torrential rain for a good part of the day for the past two days. Hopefully the humidity will break today! Fingers crossed!

Today’s post os for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Before we get to that I want to thank Alissa for choosing me as her Perfect Prince for last week’s challenge! You can see the original post here and the Freshly Made Sketches post here. Now on to this week. Cindy has provided us with this neat sketch…

When I saw it I knew I wanted to do a holiday card. I also wanted to mix up the colors a little too. I started with a base of Night of Navy Card Stock. I took a piece of Soft Suede and trimmed right edge with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies. To the top of that I adhered a piece of paper from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. The main stamped images are form the Affection Collection Stamp Set. The large image is stamped in Night of Navy and cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies along with a piece of Cherry Cobbler one size up. I used the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool around the edge of both. The flagged stamp is stamped in Soft Suede. I stamped the large image again in Cherry Cobbler and used the Modern Label Punch to punch out the middle. The greeting is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy. All of the pieces are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a little bling I used the Owl Builder Punch to punch out the heart from a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper. I really like the color combination and will definitely be using it again. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card. Thank you for visiting and for your comments. Have an amazing day!
