Freshly Made Sketches #48

A good Thursday morning to you all. Were are almost through another week! We had some more “Florida” rain today (as I like to call it). It pours buckets for about 15 minutes and then the sun comes out and it does it all over again. I think it’s supposed to be nice today! I got a lot of questions yesterday asking me how I made the star on my card. As promised, here is the PDF “tutorial”, hope that helps. Thanks for asking! Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. This week’s challenge has been engineered by Tui…

I really like the layout a lot. I wanted to use a set that I haven’t used in a while so I reached for my World Treasures Stamp Set. I have used the peacock before but never the flowers. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I added some International Bazaar Designer Series Paper to the left and also three strips across the middle. On the strips across the middle I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits to “pink” the one side. The flowers are markered in Rich Razzleberry and Lucky Limeade. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get them lined up perfectly. The greeting is also from the World Treasures Stamp Set and is stamped in Lucky Limeade and cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. I also used them to cut out a piece of Rich Razzleberry to mount behind the greeting. They are all adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a little bling I put a Basic Jewels Rhinestone in the middle of each of the flowers. I love the color combination and the greeting is great. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card and that you have a wonderful Thursday! Thank for checking in! 🙂

Red Gumball 3D Star Christmas

Good morning and happy humpday to you! I just wanted to take a minute to thank all of you for stopping by and leaving comments, you propel my creativity to new heights and I really appreciate it! For today’s card I went with some traditional holiday colors. It has sort of a rustic modern country feel to it! 😛 The base of the card is Real Red Card Stock. I took a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock and used the Woodgrain Background Stamp with Crumb Cake Ink for the background. I cut it a little smaller than usual and flagged the bottom. Then I used some Vellum Card Stock and the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set stamped in Gumball Green for the greeting. The vellum is adhered to the Real Red 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon to hide the adhesive and the ribbon is adhered to the back of the Crumb Cake. For a little added detail I punched out some Gumball Green with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and cut the strip in half and used some 2-Way Glue to adhere it to the back of the flagged ends and then mounted the whole thing to the card with SNAIL. I used the Window Frames Collection Framelits to cut out a piece of Gumball Green and paper-pierced the edge using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack. The star is cut from a piece of Real Red and I used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score from the point to the peak on opposite sides and the creased it up. Some Multipurpose Adhesive is used to hold it to the card. I love the 3 D star and have to come up with a way to make it detach so it could be used an ornament. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thank you again for stopping by. Enjoy your day!

Mojo 254

Hello peeps! I hope that everybody had a nice Monday. Mine was good, no complaints which is great! Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week’s sketch is provided by Carole Burrage…

I’m loving the sketch because it has a nice big flagged piece in it! My card starts off with a base of Baja Breeze Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered it to a piece of Early Espresso. The flagged piece of Baja Breeze is paper-pierced with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool, it’s mounted to the card with SNAIL. I used a piece of the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack and backed it with some Baja Breeze, it’s then mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. If you look closely you can see Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake in the paper, two colors that are not listed as the coordinating colors in the 2012 Holiday Catalog. Upon closer inspection I have found that most of Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Papers have some extra colors in them, you just have to take a little time and find them! I then used one of the Round Designer Ribbon Slides with some Early Espresso 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon. It is doubled on each side and small piece threaded through the middle for a quick tied bow effect. In the middle of the ribbon slide is a Vintage Faceted Designer Button and in the center of that is a basic Jewels Rhinestone. I adhered the ribbon on the back of the Early Espresso piece with Sticky Strip. The ornament is from the Keepsake Ornaments Stamp Set and Is stamped in Versa-Mark and Heat embossed with Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I then cut the ornament out with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. You can get both the stamp set and the framelits in a bundle and save 15%. The greeting is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is stamped using my Stamp-a-ma-jig in Baja Breeze and mounted to a piece of Baja Breeze. Three Metallics 3/16″ Brads are on the left corner and I adhered the whole panel to the card base with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I have been on a non-tradiotional holiday color kick and I’m liking the results. I hope that you enjoyed tho week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card and thank you so much for checking in. Have a great day! 🙂

Paper Players #108

A good Monday morning everyone, or at least I’m hoping that it turns out to be. I always try to start the week off as optimistic as possible! Fingers crossed that we all have good weeks from now on. My brother and his fiancé were up from PA this weekend. She had her hair and makeup trial and her second to last dress fitting. It was also her birthday yesterday so we had some red velvet cake, which is my favorite! Happy Birthday Erika!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Ann has given us a color challenge…

I’m loving the colors! I decided that I would try to come up with a different kind of card. I love anything 3D so I did a card that has a framed front and folds flat and still fits inside a standard envelope. Another good part, it uses standard 8 1/2″ x 11″ paper. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock cut to 5 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ and scored at 1/2″, 1″, 4 3/4″ and 5 1/4″ with my Simply Scored. All of the stamped images are from the Papaya Collage Stamp Set. I cut a frame out of a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped the frame image in Not Quite Navy and cut a piece out of the card base the same size as the inside of the frame. Another piece of Very Vanilla is stamped a few times with the leaves image in Crumb Cake and mounted to inside. The bird and the butterflies are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and cut out with my Paper Snips. The bird is mounted to the leaves with Stampin Dimensionals and the butterflies with SNAIL. Two Basic Jewels Pearls on each one make the bodies. The greeting is from the Curly Cute Stamp Set and is stamped in Not Quite Navy and backed with a piece of Not Quite Navy Card Stock. The piece of Cherry Cobbler along the right side was cut with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies and a thin piece of Comfort Café Designer Series Paper was added on top. I am really liking this card and it wasn’t to difficult to make. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Paper Players Challenge card and that you will be having a great day and fantastic week! Thank you for visiting!

Freaky Monthly Challenge!

A very good Sunday Morning to you all. I spent most of the day catching up on some creativity, which is definitely my favorite way to spend a Saturday! I have some amazing news to share with you all. About a month ago I got a very exciting email Lisa, her blog is Get Your Stamp On! The email asked me if I would like to become a member of The Control Freaks!! I couldn’t believe it! WOW! To be asked to join such an amazingly talented group was beyond exciting. I of course accepted and today I am posting my first card for the Freaks. They have a Freaky Monthly Challenge amongst the members and here is my card for August. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used a piece of the new Core’dinations Card Stock in Early Espresso and embossed it with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The fun part is when you use the new Stampin’ Sanding System to sand the card stock and reveal the lighter inside layer. A little rub with the Core’dinations Dust Buddy and I adhered it to the card with SNAIL. The next layer is a piece of World Spectacular Designer Series Paper backed with a piece of Very Vanilla. The layer on top of that is another piece backed with some more Very Vanilla. I used the ticket stamp from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and stamped them in Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler and Island Indigo. The Ticket Duo Builder punch is used to punch them all out and I used some 2-Way Glue to adhere them to the DSP. Another piece of World Spectacular DSP is mounted to the ticket layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The ballon image is also from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo and cut out with my Paper Snips. The greeting is from the Blue Ribbon Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso and also cut out with Paper Snips. They are both mounted to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I’m really happy with the card and hope that the Freaks and you enjoy it. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Red Pool Preserved Hearts Card & Box

Hello everyone and happy Saturday! Who doesn’t love the weekend?! I, as usual, have lots to do. I think if there were two of me I might be able to get everything done but I’m sure that most of us feel that way. My perfect solution would be never having to sleep again! Anyway, on to today’s post which was a birthday gift for my boss Nancy. It’s a card and a gift box that held an iPod nano. I love being able to make a box that perfectly fits whatever is going inside. The base of the card is Naturals White Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Pool Party with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. Again with my Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool, I know, I just can’t get enough of it. It gives that little extra detail that is nice and bold yet subtle at the same time. I used a piece of Real Red and Pool Party, flagged the ends and pierced both and added a piece of Real Red 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon to the mix and adhered them to the card with some Sticky Strip. The jar and lid are from the Friendship Preserves Stamp set and are stamped in Pool Party and Real Red. I used the coordinating Cannery Framelits Dies to cut them out. The hearts are Real Red and I used the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit to cut them out. They are all adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the One in a Million Stamp Set and is stamped in Real Red, punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch and backed with a piece of Real Red punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. For a little extra detail I “threaded” a Brights Collection Designer Button with Whisper White Card Stock and adhered it to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. The box contains the same elements and I used my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to create it. I think Nancy liked the box and card more than the iPod and I hope that you enjoyed it too. Thank you so very much for checking in with me today. Have an awesome Saturday! 🙂

CCMC 213

Good morning and happy Friday! It’s supposed to rain here today and most of the day tomorrow but it’s supposed to be nice on Sunday. I guess Saturday will be a good day to stay in and craft! Yeah! A quick thank you to all of you that read my blog each day. I appreciate all of your wonderful comments and you make me strive to be more creative! Thanks!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. For this week’s challenge they have given us this sketch…

I wanted to finally make a Christmas card that uses traditional colors and use some new things that I have acquired from the 2012 Holiday Catalog. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set and the new Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stamp Pad. The Illuminate Pad gives a nice subtle silver image and shows up when you tilt the card in the light. The three pieces of Designer Series Paper are from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. It contains 40 sheets that are 6 1/2 x 4 1/2, perfect for cards! I used my favorite new tool the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool on the piece of Lucky Limeade to the left. Then I wrapped a piece of Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine around it twice and used Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back to hold the Baker’s Twine and mount it to the card. For the main image I used the 1 3/4″Scallop Circle Punch and the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, Paper-Pierced them and stamped the mitten from the Make A Mitten Stamp Set in Crumb Cake and Lucky Limeade, then punched it out with the Mitten Builder Punch and added a few dots of Silver Sparkle Dazzling Detals. All of the elements are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is stamped in Lucky Limeade. I used my trusty Paper Snips to fussy cut it and then used pieces of Stampin’ DImensionals to adhere it to the card. I’m liking the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stamp Pad and the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper. I hope you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card. Thank you so much for visiting and have an awesome Friday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 47

Good morning peeps. How is your week so far? Mine is humming right along. It’s Thursday and tomorrow is Friday! I love Fridays, the work week os over and the weekend begins. On to today’s post which is for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. This week Jennifer T. has provided us with this lovely sketch…

As soon as I saw it I knew exactly what I wanted to use. I love the circus themed items in the World Spectacular Products Suite. Great colors and really neat stamps, it has Island Indigo so it has to be a favorite! The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock that I stamped with Crumb Cake ink with the distressed Dots Background Stamp. I embossed a piece of Calypso Coral with the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and mounted it to a piece of Early Espresso before adhering it to the card. Three pieces of World Spectacular Designer Series Paper are flagged on the one side and adhered to the embossed piece. I punched out a piece of Island Indigo with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce it before adhering it to the card with Stampin’ DImensionals. The elephant is from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso. I stamped the image again in Calypso Coral and cut them out with my Paper Snips. He is also mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The winner image is from the same set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. I think the card is nice and colorful but not too over the top. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card and thank you so much for stopping by, I appreciate your visit. Have a wonderful day!

Mojo 253

Hello and good morning to you all. First order of business, Happy Birthday to my friend Danielle! I hope that everyone is having a good week. Mine is going well. I was a Perfect Prince(ess) over at Freshly Made Sketches today! Thank you to all of the lovely ladies over there and a special thanks to Cindy for choosing my card. You can see the card over at Freshly Made Sketches.

Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week Julee Tilman has provided us with this sketch…

I like when, on occasion, the sketch calls for you to not put things on straight which sometime can be more of a challenge than putting them on straight! For the first time I have some Halloween stamp sets. Ever since I became a Demo I am really into the Holidays like never before. I can’t wait to make some Halloween stuff to decorate the house! My card starts with a base of Basic Black Card Stock. I used the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Tangerine Tango for the background. The strip of very vanilla “ribbon” is stamped in Tangerine Tango with the Border Banter Stamp Set. The pieces of Designer Series Paper, mounted on Basic Gray and Basic Black, are form the Howlstooh and Scaringbone Collection. For the main image I used a stamp from the Toxic Treats Stamp Set and stamped it in Basic Black on Very Vanilla. I used the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut it out and cut out a piece of Basic Black, cut it in half and adhered it to the back for a little border. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Tangerine Tango. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool, fast becoming one of my favorite accessories form the 2012 Catalog, to pierce the edges and flagged the one side with my Paper Snips. The image and greeting are both mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The rosette is also made from the Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP and I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and the Owl Builder Punch for the circles in the middle. I’m having so much fun using all of the products from both of the catalogs! I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card and thank you so much for visiting! Have an amazing day!

Indigo Pool Preserves Paper Bow Box & Card

Good morning everyone, how was your Monday? Mine was great! I hosted card class last night. We did a 3D project base on a box I made a few weeks ago and a 3 x 3 card. The paper bow was a request form my talented friend Sandy, her wish is my command! The box is made from Island Indigo and Pool Party card stock cut to 5 1/4″ and 7 1/4″. I scored the bottom at 1″ and 2″ on all four sides. The top is scored at 1/2″ and 1″ on all four sides but slightly moved over so that the lid fits perfectly. The top of the box has a piece of Island Indigo and to that I mounted a piece of Naturals White Card Stock that I embossed with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I punched out a piece of Island Indigo with the Decorative Label Punch and a piece of Pool Party with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. They are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The bow is made from Naturals White and is stamped in Island Indigo with the Border Banter Stamp Set. The 1″ Square Punch is used to flag the ends of the bottom pieces. I wrapped a piece of Island Indigo around the middle and mounted it to the punched pieces with a Stampin’ Dimensional. In the middle I used a Vintage Faceted Designer Button and some Whisper White Bakers Twine to tie the greeting that is stamped from the Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set in Island Indigo. The Bitty Banners Framelits Dies is used to cut it out and the hole is punched with the 1/16″ Handheld Punch.

The base of the 3 x 3 card is Naturals White Card Stock. I added a piece of Pool Party to the front. Using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool I pierced a window. The stamped image is from the Friendship Preserves Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo. I used the Window Frames Framelits Dies to cut out the stamped image and then mounted it to a piece of Pool Party that is cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies with a Stampin’ Dimensional. I hope that you enjoyed the projects that we made at card class. Thank you for visiting and have a super day!
