Best Banner Day

What a fun day everyone had at Renee’s Anniversary Crop at the Store! We had a nice Italian lunch and cake and Chocolates by Cara for dessert! Renee played games and gave away prizes, so much fun! It did start snowing around 3:00, it was only sticking to the cars not the road thankfully! I stopped by Heather’s old apartment one last time on the way home and did the final walk through with her. After that I came home and Taylor was asleep on the couch so I decided that I should take a nap too! It’s amazing how much a little snooze refreshes you! Around 7:30 my friend Jim came by and we hung out, watched TV and chatted. Today is day two of the Crop, more fun to be had! 😀

I have a nice quick card to share with you today! On a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb I used my ruler and pencil to draw some diagonal lines and inch apart. To do my stamping I used the banner from the Concord & 9th Best Banners Photopolymer Stamp Set and I stamped it in Lawn Fawn Peacock, Sugarplum, Freshly Cut Grass and Sunflower Ink. I used the Concord & 9th Best Banners Dies to cut out a piece of Lemon Sorbet and Black and adhered them to the card and each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive, ever so slightly offsetting the black. My greeting is also from the Best Banners Set and is stamped in Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Ink. I adhered the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins. Super simple and very easy to duplicate! Who wouldn’t want to get that card in the mail?! I hope that you like today’s simple card! Thank you for visiting and have a simple Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 270

Well, it definitely got colder here yesterday. It is supposed to warm up again next week and I look forward to that! I got my haircut in the morning and then ran over to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to meet my friend Patrice. She showed me all of the cards that she has been working on recently and also gave me my Christmas card and a Get Well card that I will share with you soon! From there I went over to Heather’s to help with the move. We got a lot accomplished in a very short amount of time which was great. I went home for a little while and got caught up on my blog comments and took a little nap. I’m feeling much better but not 100% yet. Around 7:30 I headed over to George’s and the three of us went out to dinner in Huntington. We had Argentinian food, it was delicious. All small plates which was a great way to get a taste of a lot of different things. What nice way to end the day! Today is Renee’s anniversary crop so I’ll get to see some of the ladies! Always a good time!

When I got home last night I sat down and made a quick card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

A nice simple sketch deserves a nice simple card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the Hero Arts Large Floral Background stamp onto a piece of Smoky Slate with Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder. I also heat embossed the same image onto a piece of Basic Gray with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The Basic Gray panel is trimmed down to match the sketch. For my greeting I heat embossed one from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in more Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. Before I adhered the dark gray panel I added the greeting strip on the left and a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Card Stock to the right. A nice simple card but the embossing really adds a little wow! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for spending a bit of your Saturday with me! Have a sensational day! 🙂

Paper Players 326

It was like a Spring day here on Long Island yesterday! The temps got well up into the high 50’s! Such a nice reprieve from the snow! It won’t last for long, it’s to get cold again today but I enjoyed every minute of it! Renee and I got ready for the upcoming weekend crop at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Scrap-A-Latte. I also worked on my card for today and left the store a little early to come home and take a nap. I went over to the Heather’s for the last Thirsty Thursday at her old apartment. Brian and Kim stopped by and then Heather and I went to see Stephanie at her house for a bit. Today I’m off from the store but after I get a haircut in the morning I’ll head over there for a bit, my friend Patrice is stopping by! 😀

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I did use something somewhat recycled on my card. I had a few stamped flowers and leaves from a card that I had made a while ago using the Reverse Confetti Blooms ‘N Buds Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are stamped in Hero Arts Lime Green, Emerald Green and Butter Bar and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. They have been sitting on my desk for a long time and needed to be used! I adhered them to a tag with 3D Foam Squares that I cut out of Kraft and Crisp Green using the Reverse Confetti Topped Off Tags Confetti Cuts. I adhered the green piece to the tag and then threaded some May Arts Natural Twine through the top before adhering it to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My butterfly/greeting is stamped in Hero Arts Butter Bar using the Reverse Confetti Butterfly Dreams Photopolymer Stamp Set and is cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I used some more 3D Foam Squares to adhered it to the card and tucked the twine behind it. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Mossy Green, Lemon Drop and Iridescent Sunshine Glow Sequins and some Clear Droplets and the card is done! I do love those flowers and that butterfly, the greeting is really neat too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for coming by today! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 226

Hello my friends! Still not feeling great but this too shall pass. It is making it hard to get my projects finished but they will still be there waiting. I had another quick day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. I got my card made and a few other things done but I left around 3:30 and came straight home and took a nap. I’m good for a few hours and then I get really tired. The rest of my evening after dinner was pretty boring. I can’t wait for this cold to be done! 😀

We are at the mid-way point in the week so it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I needed a nice Spring like card to brighten my mood so I took the Hero Arts Color Layering Large Orchid Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped the orchids in Soft Vanilla, Passion Flower, Grape Juice and Butter Bar using my Mini MISTI. The buds are stamped in Passion Flower and Grape Juice and the stem in Forever Green. I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them out and then adhered them to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 3/4″ wide, letting them hang off the left side. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Flamingo Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Grape Juice. I added a bunch of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Amethyst, Orchid, and Mossy Green Sequins. Love the Orchids in the purple with the vanilla base! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Theme Challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by to see me and thank you for all of your well wishes! SIP Challenge 81 – Black, White and a Pop of Color!

It’s funny how someone as cute as that little boy Daniel can wreak so much havoc! He successfully got my Mum, Taylor and I all sick! I haven’t been sick in over 4 years! When I went to Walgreen’s to get a decongestant I had no idea what to buy! The one that I did get did nothing! I have gone through an entire box of tissues today! Enough complaining! LOL! I did manage to go to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and get some of my things done. My friend Janine stopped by, always nice to see her. I did leave around 4:00 and when I came home all I wanted to do was take a nap. Taylor had already claimed the couch so I went into the bedroom. I should have turned off my phone because it didn’t stop! LOL! Finally I got a call from Heather asking me if I wanted to run to IKEA and stop and get some dinner so I figured might as well! We did have a nice time and I managed to get home by 9:30, typed my posts for today and crawled into bed. Hopefully I will be feeling a little better as today goes on! I hate being sick! 🙁

On a happy note it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge

I dug around in my stash and found another Holiday set that I thought I could turn into a non-Holiday card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Hexagon Dies to cut out some Black and Chinese Red, making one of them a frame. To the back of that frame I adhered a piece of Acetate and then a layer of 3M Foam Tape to create a well for some Pretty Pink Posh 3mm Sparkling Clear and Gold Sequins. I adhered a large red hexagon to the back and then adhered all of the hexagons to the card. My bear and cup are from the Pretty Pink Posh Winter Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used my Copics to color them in and then cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. They are adhered to the right side of the shaker with 3D Foam Squares. The greeting is from the Pretty Pink Posh Fox Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I was going to add some more sequins but I thought that it would take away from the nice simple design. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Black, White and a Pop of Color Challenge! We hope that you will take some time and share your card with us in the gallery! Head over the BLOG, the rest of the Team has some great inspiration cards for you! Thank you so much for stopping by here! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Try Something New!

Hello again! I’m back for my second post of the day! This time it’s for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge! We have something fun to share with you for our new challenge! We are sharing the new release from Concord & 9th!

Each of the Design Team received some new goodies that are being released today! I had the pleasure of playing with the Best Banners Stamp and Dies! I made a really simple card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My heart is from the Concord & 9th Heart Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set and I stamped it in Hero Arts Passion Flower Ink three times using my Mini MISTI. Then I stamped the perfect from the Concord & 9th Best Banners Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. The die cut perfect banner is cut from a piece of Gold Glitter Card Stock using the Concord & 9th Best Banner Dies. I adhered it to the card slightly offset from the stamped perfect using Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The rest of the greeting is also from the Best Banners Photopolymer Stamp Set and again is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and the card is done! I love the new Best Banners Stamps and Dies, especially with the stamped word behind the die cut one! I hope that you like my Design Team card for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Try Something New Challenge! We hope to see your cards in the gallery so head on over to the BLOG for some more inspiration and to see more of the new release! Thanks for stopping by again! Enjoy the rest of your Monday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 479

Well, despite the copious amounts of snow that we got the weekend went by pretty fast! The roads were much better this morning on the way to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. I did manage to get all of my list of things to do done! The store was quiet and Angie and Renee were there working on all sorts of projects so I snuck out a little early. On the way home I stopped by Brian and Kim’s, I haven’t seen then in way too long! We got all caught up and then I came home, did a little cleaning and waited for my friend Jim to come by for dinner. Taylor stopped by and is feeling much better, she went to the Doctor and got some medicine. I enjoyed a nice evening at with my friend, got all of my posts typed up for today and called it a night. More of my list needs to get finished at the Store today, hopefully I can stay focused! 😀

It’s Monday and what better way to start off the week than with a new Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

My card base is Neenah Solar White 100lb Card Stock and across the bottom is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Winter Petite Paper Pad. Next up is a strip of Tropical Teal and a circle of Crisp Green that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Dotted Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts. My main panel is a piece of Blue Mint backed with some Battleship Gray. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Tree Border to cut out a piece of Dark Molasses and the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders to cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb. All of my images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Love Letters Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped my greeting in Black Licorice and the images in Jet Black, they are colored in with Copics, I stamped the HI and Smiley Face in Jalapeño and Peacock and cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. A few 3D Foam Squares on the back of the bird and phone to adhere them to the card and it’s finished! I think that Lawn Fawn Love Letters Stamp Set is so cute and I really like that greeting! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of Team’s cards! We can’t wait to see what you do with the sketch so make sure and enter your card in the gallery! Thanks for starting your week off with a visit here! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Grateful Wintry Leaf

Well, what snow we didn’t get on Friday we certainly got yesterday! I think the final total by my house was 6 inches and further out on the Island they got up 12 inches. When I left for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store it had just started. We decided to close early so I stopped by the Post Office to drop off a bunch of packages and then headed home. The roads were terrible, it was really cold so none of the snow melted. It was like you were driving on little tiny frozen marbles! Thank god for traction control! I’ll tell you, my little car is packed full of nice surprises! The rest of my evening was spent relaxing, I did make another quick card and today I want to get some projects finished at the Store. Hopefully they will have done something with the roads by morning! 😀

As I always say I do like to stretch my stamps and use them for more than what they are intended for and I think that we could all use a little more grateful in our lives! Today’s card uses a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Authentiqe Wintery 12×12 Paper. I heat embossed the leaf from the Concord & 9th Lacy Leaf Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Liquid Platinum onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. The coordinating dies are used to cut it out along with three pieces of Black 110lb that are adhered together with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. On my strip of Kraft I stamped the greeting from the same stamp set in Onyx Black and adhered the strip over the leaf to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. All that was left to do was to adhere the grateful to the strip with Multi-Matte Medium. A nice simple card that gets stepped up by the heat embossed Vellum leaf! I hope that you like today’s card! As always, thank you for stopping by! Have a simply wonderful Sunday! 🙂

Simple Love

Happy weekend peeps! We did get the snow that they promised but it wasn’t too bad. However, we are to have some more today, between 3-6 inches. That’s too much for me! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was a good time as always. I had to run out and take a few orders to the Post Office, I made it to the little one close to me. I like that one much better! After work I headed over to Geroge’s to help him and Heather put together some new pieces of furniture for her move in! There was so much traffic on the way home, no idea why! We had Italian for dinner and I got home around 10:30. I have a little bit of a cold that I’m sure my little buddy Daniel shared with me, all I want to do is stay in bed! I’m on my own at the Store today, Renee is having Christmas with her kids and her daughter is having the big baby reveal! They will find out if it’s going to be a boy or a girl! 😀

I mentioned that I’m trying to make a lot more simple cards and today’s definitely falls in that category! I cut a heart out of a piece of Solar White 80lb and adhered it with Dot Runner Adhesive to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Using my Mini Ink Blending Tool I applied some Hero Arts Red Royal Ink. When I was finished I removed the heart. My greeting and little hearts are from the Hero Arts Love Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the hearts and “you so much” in more Red Royal and die cut the Love from a piece of American Crafts Gold Glitter Card Stock. All that was left to do was to adhere the Love to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Like I said… super simple, but they would make great quick Valentine’s wouldn’t you agree?! I hope that you like today’s quick and easy card! Thank you so much for coming by! Have a spectacular Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 103

Another relatively sunny day yesterday, but windy and cold too! Snow last night, not my favorite at all! Renee had an appointment to get her hair done in the morning so I was alone for a while. Not that I mind, I usually get a lot of things accomplished including a nice long chat with Andrea via FaceTime! I worked on my card for today too, I do love to just sit and color and Lawn Fawn is perfect for that! After work I had dinner with Mum & Dad, Mum made chili and it was delicious! When I got home Taylor was asleep on the couch, she has a pretty bad cold. When she woke up we took a ride over to Roosevelt Field Mall and then stopped at Target so that she could get some medicine. Today I want to get a lot of things done at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, we’ll see how that goes! 😀

I’m having a big sale over at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store for the rest of the week! Today all Lawn Fawn is 25% off! Use discount code CHANEW20174!

I think that all of the Design Team’s that I’m on are back! Today I have my card for the Fab Friday challenge…

To start my card I stamped the fairies from the Frosty Fairy Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set in Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink and colored them in with my Copics. The Coordinating Dies are used to the cut them out. Next I stamped the birthday from the Big Scripty Words Photopolymer Stamp Set in Lawn Fawn Grape Juice Ink and cut it out with the Coordinating Dies. I also cut three more from Solar White 110lb and adhered them to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. To create the background I cut a piece of Solar White 80lb with the Lawn Fawn Large Dotted Squares Stackables Lawn Cuts and used a Mini Ink Blending Tool to add Lawn Fawn Merman Ink to it. I placed my fairies and birthday on the panel and stamped the snowflakes from the Frosty Fairy Friends Stamp Set in Lawn Fawn Peacock Ink with the greeting stamped in Juice Box. On the card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I adhered a piece of Tropical Sea, Cosmic Grape, a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Winter Petite Paper Pad and on top of that my background. The fairies are adhered with 3D Foam Squares and the birthday with more Multi-Purpose Spray. I think this card would make a really fun birthday card for a little girl with a Winter birthday don’t you?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! Take a quick click over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards! Share your take on the sketch by adding your card to the gallery! Thank you so very much for stopping by and also for supporting the store! It makes all of this possible! I wish you all a fabulous Friday! 🙂
