And it’s Thursday already! Another week just whipping by! Yesterday was another nice day here, a little colder but sunny. I went over to Heather’s for lunch and had some of her homemade chicken soup, it was delicious! We spent a little time chatting while she worked, she works from home, my ideal job! When I left Heather’s I decided that I would stop by my old office to drop off Danielle’s scarf that she left at my house a few weeks ago. It was really nice to see everyone! I do miss Danielle, Nicole, Cindy and Robin. Nancy wasn’t there, she is on vacation with her family so I will have to go back and see her. When I got back home I crafted with Andrea over FaceTime before having dinner with my parents. The rest of the evening was spent doing a little more crafting and getting sucked into watching videos of Adele’s opening night concert in Ireland. She really is just amazing! Today, I’ll be heading over to see my friend Sue and then a quick stop off to see Renee!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players sketch from Claire

    Paper Players #284

Andrea had commented that I haven’t used Stampin’ Up! in a while so I thought that today’s card would be perfect for some of the new stuff from the Occasions Catalog! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. Across the lower half is a piece of Basic Gray that I embossed with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Above that is a piece of “Vintage” Brushed Gold Card Stock. My panel down the left is a piece of paper from the Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack, I adhered it to the card with Black Fun Foam and SNAIL. My globe and greeting are from the Going Global Clear Mount Stamp Set. I heat embossed the globe in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on more Ivory 110lb, the greeting is stamped in Onyx Black also on Ivory. I used the Sizzix Circles Framelits to cut out the globe and the greeting is punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. They are both adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I tucked a banner cut from more Brushed Gold under the globe and then added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Onyx Sequins along with a few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars. I do really love that stamp set and the DSP too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thank you for your visit today! I wish you all a lovely Thursday! 🙂

What’s up peeps? How is your week progressing? Mine… can’t complain! I had a nice day at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday. Yesterday was also my dad’s birthday so I made him a fun and simple card using some patterned paper while I was there! I even used the Envelope Punch Board to make the envelope, the card was 5×7, which I think is a first for me! When I got home I started to craft for a bit and then Heather called so I ran over to see her and then did a little more crafting when I got home before calling it a night! Here is the card that I made for my dad, very simple but it definitely describes him!

    Dad B'day 2016

I used a bunch of different papers from the PhotoPlay This Guy 12×12 Paper Collection. Isn’t it great when you can make a card with just patterned paper?!

Now on to today’s post! It’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge

    PCCCS184 DT Sketch 3-02-3026

I used some Lawn Fawn… again! I’m really obsessed with their latest release, especially the Lovable Legends set! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the right is a strip of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles to cut out a bunch of circles from Solar White 80lb and a piece of Vellum. On some of the circles I used the Lawn Fawn Ocean Waves Borders Lawn Cuts. I then added some Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue and Cloudy Sky ink to them with a Mini Ink Blending Tool. My images and greeting are all from the Lawn Fawn Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set. The Kraken and ship are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I adhered the Kraken in the waves with Foam Tape along with the ship. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing powder on Vellum and then mounted to a piece of Basic Gray. Before I adhered all of the pieces to the card with Foam Tape I added two strips, one of Basic Gray and one of Smoky Slate, to lower right. Finally, I scattered some Pretty Pink Posh Charcoal and Marshmallow Sequins across the circles. I really do love that set and it looks so neat all colored in with Copics! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for taking some time out of your busy day to come and visit with me! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 37 – Wood, Cork, Felt!

Hello! It turned out to be a very nice day here yesterday after a brief shower in the morning. I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to go and see Renee and finish my cards for the March Lawn Fawn class. We chatted and then had some dinner before I headed home. When I got back to the house I let Winston out and I was standing there reading something on my iPhone when I was startled to see a raccoon the size of a small bear cub walk by me not four feet away! Thankfully I had already let Winston in! YIKES! I guess as long as neither one of us bothers the other one all is good! LOL! This morning I’m off to spend the day at Scrap-A-Latte so Renee can have a little time off. Come by and say hi if you are in the area!

Tuesday… yup it’s Tuesday! Time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We are also welcoming Marisa Gunn as a Guest Designer for the month of March! Thanks for joining us Marisa! This week I came up with a fun Wood, Cork, Felt Challenge…

SIP Challenge 37 Wood, Cork, Felt 800

All you have to do is use one of these on your project! I of course had to use all three! LOL! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Pink Pirouette covering the front. I adhered a panel of Adhesive Cork Sheet on top of that. My tag is a wooden one that I picked up at Michaels along with the butterfly. The flowers and leaves are cut out from some pink and light green felt, also from Michaels, with the Essential by Ellen Bold Blooms Stand Alone Dies. I adhered them to the wooden tag with Multi-Matte Medium along with the butterfly. A length of Papertrey Ink Natural Twine is tied thought the top and then the tag is adhered to the card with E-Z- Runner. My greeting is from the Mama Elephant Labeled Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Jellybean Ink on a piece of Ivory 100lb and also adhered with E-Z Runner. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets with more Multi-Matte Medium to give the card just a little more texture! I really do enjoy using some natural elements on a card, makes for a nice change from paper alone! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and see what our fabulous Design Team has come up with to inspire you! We hope to see one your creations in the gallery this week! Thanks so much for stopping but today! Here we go again! The start of another week! It was a beautiful day here yesterday! We made it up into the 60’s! I crafted for a bit in the morning and then headed over to Brian and Kim’s to meet up with Heather. We took the kids and two cars and headed over to Roosevelt Field Mall to go dress shopping for the ladies. I think I set a new record, I had them both dressed in 30 minutes! LOL! From there we headed over to the food court, Heather, Brian and I had Japanese, Kim had a healthy wrap and the girls had Wendy’s. Heather and I also got smoothies and they were yummy! Once we were finished we went back to Brian and Kim’s, Brian and I ran out to Shop Rite quick to pick ups some things. We had some snacks and I had a hard root beer that was actually quite tasty. I crafted a bit more and then turned on the Oscars just in time to see Sam perform, and later to see his acceptance speech because he won!! The rest of it looked terrible so I turned it off. Today I’ll be running over to see Renee for a bit and working on some more projects!

The best thing about Monday’s… well, the Mojo Monday Sketch of course…

    Mojo437

I have been having fun with the new Lawn Fawn release so I used some more on today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 4 1/4″ wide. My background is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad. Across the top portion is a piece of Watermelon Wonder. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares to cut out a piece of Island Indigo and then heat embossed the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Year Six Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. For my shaker circle I cut out a piece of Watermelon Wonder with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames along with a piece of Fun Foam. The Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles are used to cut out a piece of Acetate and a piece of Solar White 80lb. On the back circle I heat embossed the bubbles from the Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set and then used a Mini Ink Blending Tool and Simon Says Stamp High Dive Ink to give it some color. I adhered all of the pieces together with Scor-Tape, adding some Sparkling Clear Flat Sequins before adhering the back. My Oyster is from the Year Six Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. A piece of Foam Tape holds him on the shaker and the shaker is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. I love that Plaid Paper Pad and the little oyster with that greeting is so cute! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thanks for staring your week off with me for your daily dose of creativity! • Magical Fairy Postcard

    Magical Fairy Postcard

Another wonderful day in Manhattan! I drove in and there was a lot more traffic on the way in that I thought there would be. I did look for a parking space but they are doing so much construction there are very few left to be had so I parked in the garage and walked the 24 blocks to see Diane and Jim. I love visiting with them, such amazing people! Jim had a new iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil, I want one!! After my little visit I headed downtown to The Ink Pad and hung out with Barbara and Abby. We had burgers and fries from the Corner Bistro Bar for lunch and they were delicious! I got back to the garage around 4:00 and headed out over the RFK Bridge which was really backed up. I hate when that happens because the bridge shakes and you can feel it while you are sitting in the car! It almost bounces! Not a fan at all. When I got home my parents were out so I retrieved Winston and went back over for a sandwich for dinner when they got home. While I was puttering around an idea for a card popped into my head so I sat down and put it together before it disappeared! That’s today’s card!

The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue Ink to make the sky right on the card front. Across the bottom is a piece of Gumball Green that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Meadow Borders Lawn Cuts. I cut out some tulips and a butterfly and colored them in with Copics. They are adhered with Foam Tape. The postcard, postage and cancelled stamp are from the Lawn Fawn You’ve Got Mail Photopolymer Stamp Set, I colored them in with Copics and then used the new Coordinating Lawn Cuts to cut them out. My fairies are from the Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set, they too are colored in with Copics and cut out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts. I adhered the fairies with E-Z Runner and the PostCard with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Orchid, Pansy Purple, Pink Blush and Marigold Sequins are scattered about and I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the fairies wings! I love the way the little scene came out and the greeting is just plain fun! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you so much for continuing to stop by and visit me! I really appreciate it! Have a magical Sunday! 🙂

    Peeps Sugar Shaker

Well, it was a little cold here yesterday but nice and sunny! Today we are supposed to get up into the high 40’s and tomorrow we should make it into the 50’s! I spent most of the day crafting. In the afternoon I had to run to Michaels and pick up some felt for a project and Taylor was working so I waited for her to get off work and her mum came up to meet her too. I stood and talked to Leigh for a while, we haven’t seen each other since the summer. After that I came back home and FaceTimed with Andrea and finished some projects. Heather stopped by and picked me up around 4:45 and we ran to BJ’s and Target. When she dropped me off I had dinner and then I watched Pink’s The Truth About Love concert on MTV2. I would like to fly around the audience like she does! LOL! This morning I’m off to Manhattan to visit my friends Jim and Diane. After that I’m going to go down to The Ink Pad to drop off my Hero Arts cards and see Barbara for a little bit before I head back home.

I got my Simon Says Stamp Monthly Card kit the other day and a card popped into my head so that’s what I have to share with you today. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my MISTI to stamp the background with the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp in Lake Shores. To make my frame I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched and 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles to cut out another piece of Solar White 110lb, Acetate and a piece of Solar White 80lb. The Acetate is adhered to the frame with Scor-Tape and then I added a layer of Foam Tape to the back of the frame. My Peeps are from the Simon Says Stamp My Kind of Peep Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped also with the MISTI in Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini, Mint Candy and Duckling. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. I tried a few different ways to add some “sugar” to them and wasn’t happy with any. You can see them here:

    Sugared Peeps Fail

The middle one was the best but the clear glitter was still a bit too big. Instead I added the glitter to the shaker. I adhered the Peeps to the backing piece with E-Z Runner, filling in their eyes with a Black Gel Pen, and then added the glitter to the framed piece and adhered the two together. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black and added to the acetate with Foam Tape. Finally the shaker is adhered to the card with more E-Z Runner and the card is done. I wanted it to look like a box of Peeps and I guess that all of the sugar has fallen off of them?! LOL! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you, as always, for taking some time to come by and check in! Have a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

    Freshly Made Sketches 225

Hmm… what’s today? Well, I think that it’s Friday! YAY! Yes, it’s still my favorite day of the week and probably always will be! I had a Doctor filled day with Heather yesterday. We went for her consult in the morning and then some x-rays and a further consult. After that we had Subway and then it was off for an MRI and CT Scan. I said to her with all of the radiation she had she should glow in the dark last night! When I got home I FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit before I went over to my parent’s for dinner with Daniel and my brother. Daniel didn’t want any of his dinner except for the breadstick! He can be such a fussy butt sometimes! Some TV was on the menu for last night and my mum text me to tell me that Kelly Clarkson was on American Idol and was going to sing so I turned it on. She sang Piece by Piece and Keith Urban and I both cried! It was such a sad song, but I love when music can move you like that. Today I’ll be crafting, lots of goodies to get made and a nice way to spend a Friday!

My card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 225

I needed to just stamp! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The set that I used for all of my flowers and leaves is the Hero Arts Color Layering For You Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed what would normally be the top image in Ranger Gold Embossing Powder onto Solar White 80lb and adhered that to the card to serve as my background. What would usually be the middle layer is stamped in Hero Arts Light to Dark Peach Ombre Ink with the leaves stamped in Hero Arts Lime to Forever Green Ombre Ink randomly on some more Solar White 80lb. I backed it with a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner Adhesive. My greeting is the Hero Arts A Bit of Kindness Wood Mount stamped again in the Light to Dark Peach Ombre and backed with a piece of Lucky Limeade. Some more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner adheres that to the card. I had to add some Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Tangerine and Lime Sorbet Sequins to give the card a little bit of sparkle! It felt good to just stamp and use a color layering set in a different way too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you very much for stopping by for a little Friday fun! Have a fantastic day! 🙂

Did we have some wicked storm here last night! Thunder, lightning and lots of wind! I went over to Heather’s and when I went to leave at 12:00 I had to make a run for the car and sit it in when I got home for a bit. Crazy! Yesterday I did do some more crafting and I went over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a little while. When I got home I FaceTimed with Andrea and made a card, I also got my cards completed for the Hero Arts class at The Ink Pad, love the way they turned out! While I was at Heather’s last night Michael called and I got to catch up with him. I needed his opinion on a few things and he was very helpful as always. This morning I’m going to take a ride with Heather to the Doctor so she can find out what else can be done about her back. Hopefully she won’t need surgery.

For today’s card I have one for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #283

What a fun challenge! I have a Mama Elephant set that I have been wanting to use and this was just perfect for it! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I used my Corner Chomper to round all of the corners. The frame is a piece of Black 110lb cut out with the Mama Elephant Framed Tags – Madison Avenue Creative Cuts. I added a piece of Acetate and a layer of Foam Tape around the frame to create my well for the Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Clear Seed Beads that I filled it with. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb, I stamped the rays from the Mama Elephant Sunny Skies Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Duckling Ink. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black Ink and the panel is adhered to the frame. I then adhered the whole thing to the card with E-Z Runner Adhesive. The balloons and clouds are also from the same set. My balloon is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue, the basket in Khaki and the clouds in Smoke. I used the coordinating Creative Cuts to cut them out and then adhered them to the shaker window with Foam Tape. For a little shine I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the balloon. I love that frame with the scalloped edge and double stitching, the stamp set is fun too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! I appreciate you coming by today and I wish you all a terrific Thursday! 🙂

I don’t know about you but this week is just flying by, I can’t believe that it’s Wednesday already! It was a little rainy and overcast here all day yesterday and think that we are to have more of the same today. Good days to stay in and craft which is exactly what I did yesterday. I had Daniel for a little bit in the morning while my mum went for an appointment, he is so good! After that I FaceTimed with Andrea while I worked on cards for my next class at The Ink Pad and also made my card for today! Love it when I get on a crafty roll! Taylor and Keira stopped by for a bit and after they left I crafted some m0re and finished the night off with a little TV! Today I’m thinking that it will be another crafty day, I have loads more projects to get finished!

It’s Wednesday so that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s challenge…

    PCCCS183 DT Colors 2-24-2016

Some colors instead of a sketch this week! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Smoky Slate that I embossed with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, it covers the entire card front. My tag is a piece of Lost Lagoon and I used the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Stamp and some Lost Lagoon Ink to stamp it after I cut it out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Craft Dies. The butterfly and the greeting are both cut from Blackberry Bliss using the Simon Says Stamp Leanna Butterfly and Small Hello Craft Dies. Before I adhered the butterfly I cut out a piece of Vellum with the Simon Says Stamp Calliope Flourish Craft Die. That and the hello are adhered to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium and then the tag is adhered over some leaves that are cut from Old Olive with the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves Craft Die. A piece of Papertrey Ink Natural Hemp Twine is tied through the top of the tag and some Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets are added for a little shine! I first tried the tag without the stripes and it needed something, I love how a simple stripe can change the whole look of a card! SIP Challenge 36 – Card Maker’s Choice!

What a nice day at Scrap-A-Latte! I FaceTimed with Andrea and I got to meet some new people that came in to buy stuff, sold a lot of Lawn Fawn yesterday and I got my sets to start making the cards for next month’s class! Speaking of next month’s class, I’m pondering an idea of how I can bring the class to you! I’ll let you know when I have more info! I also started working on my card for today while I was there. After I locked up the store I stopped by Aldi, it’s a new supermarket that we have here, they also have them in England! I got some K-Cups for $4.29 for 12 and Italian Sweet Cream Coffee Creamer for $2.19! Not too bad! When I got back home I watched a little TV and then sat down to finish putting my card together for today!

The card that I worked on yesterday is for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

    SIP Challenge 36 - Card Maker's Choice 800

I used one of the new Lawn Fawn sets to make today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I cut out two pieces of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles. On the one I used Stormy Sky and Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. The other one I used to cut out the waves with the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Borders and the clouds with the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders. On the waves I used Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. I then took the background and the waves and spritzed them with some water, let it sit for about 30 seconds and then blotted it off with a paper towel. Before adhering the waves and clouds to the card with Foam Tape I heat embossed the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The Loch Ness Monster is from the same set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics, some Multi-Matte Medium adheres him to the card. You know that sequins make everything better so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear ones on the waves! I love the Loch Ness and I think he’s too cute to call a monster in this case! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Make sure and check out the rest of the Team’s cards over on the BLOG and we hope to see one from you in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today! Have a creative Tuesday! 🙂
