Hello! I hope that you are all having a good week! I had a nice day yesterday hanging out at The Ink Pad in Manhattan with Anna. You get to meet some really interesting people in a stamp store in the West Village! It was another beautiful day, the sun was shining and it was nice and warm! When I got home I had a sandwich with some ham, cheese and Salad Cream that I brought back from England, delicious! Then it was time for TV and bed!

Today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. The focus this month is Halloween! If you have arrived here from Raquelle Clifton welcome! She had some great projects, didn’t she?! I have two cards and a fun treat bag for you today so let’s get to it!

First up is a super simple card, probably the simplest card that I have ever made! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black. I used a piece of paper from the My Mind’s Eye Something Wicked 6×6 Paper Pad and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few Pretty Pink Posh Charcoal and Sparkling Clear Sequins and done! It’s not often that you can find a piece of pattered paper that doesn’t need anything else! Love the sparkly mustache and top hat on the skull too!

OSAT October Blog Hop Dapper Skull Card-WM

The second card has the same base and also a piece of Black covers the front. A simple piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock is the background with a “Vintage” Paper Pumpkin stamp for the greeting. My candies are from the Exclusive Simon Says Stamp with Waffle Flower How We Roll Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Jellybean Ink and Stampin’ Up! Tangerine Tango Classic Stampin’ Ink with the outlines stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I cut them out with the Coordinating Die and adhered them to the card with SNAIL and Foam Tape. I love those brightly colored candies!

OSAT October Blog Hop Candy Card-WM

Last but not least is my treat bag! I used the Lawn Fawn Goodie Bag Die and some Black 100lb Card Stock for the bag itself. Before I assembled it I cut out a circle from the front with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Dies and adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the inside. Some 1/4″ Score Tape is used to assemble the bag. My ghost is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics, he is form the Lawn Fawn Booyah! Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used the coordinating Lawn Fawn Booyah! Lawn Cuts to cut him, the bow tie and bag out. Some Foam Tape adheres him to the card and the bow tie to him, a little dab of Multi-Matte Medium adheres the bag. For the BOO I used the Lawn Fawn Owen’s ABC’s Photopolymer Stamp Set, stamped them in Tangerine Tango and cut the out with the Coordinating Dies. Some more Foam Tape adhered them to the treat bag. Fill it with some candy and you’re all set for your trick or treaters!

  • Paper Players 265

It was another beautiful day here yesterday and looks to be the same today. I stayed in for a good part of the day and worked on some projects and FaceTimed with Andrea for a while. Last night I ran over to see Heather and FaceTimed with Jules for a bit with she was on break. She works at Heathrow for their version of the TSA and was having a latte in Costa! I’ll be heading into Manhattan in a bit to work at The Ink Pad again today, so if you are in the area stop by and say hi!

Before I get to this week’s card for the Paper Players card I wanted to thank Lisa for choosing my card for her Cut Above from last week’s challenge! You can see the winners post here and my original post here!

I was inspired by Michael’s bright colors in his work to make my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #265

Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black. I took a piece of Solar White 80lb and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool with some Twisted Citron, Hickory Smoke and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to create the background. My greeting is from an old Paper Pumpkin Kit and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The background is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The cool skull is from the Simon Says Stamp Sugar Skulls Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with the Coordinating Die. I used my Copics to color him in and then added some Stardust Stickles on some areas for a little sparkle. He’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Finally, a few Pretty Pink Posh Charcoal and Essentials By Ellen Iridescent Grey Sequins are scattered around and complete the card. A really bright card for me but I do love that Sugar Skull! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks very much for your visit today and I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 17 – Theme!

It was a beautiful day here yesterday, top down in the car beautiful! In the morning I went to the office to get my things and chatted with Nancy, Nicole and Danielle for a bit. On my way home I stopped by Heather’s quickly to say hi. When I got home I did a few things and chatted with Andrea for a bit and then headed over to see Brian and Kim for lunch. Brian and I ran to SmashBurger, he’s never had it before! We both got shakes for the ride back to the house too! We had a nice lunch and then I stopped back home and got my mail which contained some Simon goodies so I played for a bit before heading back over to Heather’s. We ran to Target and then she made a yummy dinner. I would say that was a pretty good Monday! 🙂

To continue on with his participation in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge Michael has a super fun bright card for you today! Click HERE to check it out!

Well, it’s Tuesday so that means it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This time around we have a Theme for you…

    SIP Theme 17 800

Flowers! I’m not quite ready to let go of summer yet! LOL! This card was actually my Mum’s Birthday card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a piece of Solar White 80lb for the background that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Next Lever 3D Geometric Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with a combination of Multi-Purpose Glue, SNAIL and Fun Foam. The flowers and leaves are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum and Blackberry Bliss and the leaves in Always Artichoke and Mossy Meadow. They are all cut out with the coordinating dies and adhered to the card with SNAIL and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered with more Foam Tape. I brushed it with some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to finish off the card. My mum loved it and I hope that you do too! So there you have my card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! You know that you want to go and check out what the rest of the Team has come up with so head on over to the blog. While you are there why not add one of your creations to the gallery?! Thank you so much for coming by today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

  • Mojo Monday 418

Happy Monday! I can say that for now, no work for me! I know that I shouldn’t be happy about that, but good things are ahead! I have to run up to the office this morning and get my things. I will miss the people form my old department and my friends. Everything happens for a reason right?! I had a nice day at The Ink Pad with Anna yesterday. It was also a sunny day, a nice change from the rain that we have been having. I drove in and got a space not too far away. When I parked I noticed this Fish & Chips Shop which I think has the best name ever!

    A Salt & Battery

Really great name don’t you think?! The day moved along, we were pretty busy. I’m back there on Wednesday. I did get to run down to the basement which you get through by going into the building behind the store and they have one of those really cool old elevators…

    Old Elevator

Pretty cool! That has been there for a long time! It took me a little bit longer than I thought to get home. I stopped and saw Mum and Dad and had a quick sandwich. Heather called when I got back to my house so I went over to see her for a bit and then by the time I got home it was time for bed. Another really good Sunday!

Continuing on with his daily post Michael has a really cool card with some paper-piecing on it! Go over and check it out by clicking HERE!

Now you know what Monday means… it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

    Mojo418

I played with some Lawn Fawn again, but this time it’s an exclusive set that you can’t get anymore from last year. Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Smoky Slate for the background. I wrapped some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine around it and tied it in a bow, it’s then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The panel in the middle is a piece of Solar White 80lb that is stamped with the Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky Ink. It’s cut with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card, once and then I placed it over the already cut lines to make it a little smaller. A piece of Vellum has the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp with Lawn Fawn Feathered Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It’s adhered around the back and then the panel is adhered to the background with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The two birds and feathers are also from the Feathered Friends Set, both stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I colored them in with Copics and used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Dies to cut out the birds and the feathers are fussy cut with Paper Snips. I tucked the feathers behind the panel and the circle is adhered with SNAIL. Finally two hearts from the Woodgrain Set are colored in with Copics and also cut out with Paper Snips. Some Foam Tape holds them in place. Aren’t those two little birds just the cutest?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thank you very much for taking some time to visit with me today! Have a meaningful Monday! 🙂

  • Nautical Tags Birthday

A very good Sunday morning to you! I had a nice day in Manhattan yesterday, it was great to see Jim and Diane and catch up with them. After I left their house I met up with Kim and we went to a little Italian place called Felice for lunch and I had the best homemade ravioli! We stopped back at Kim’s apartment for a bit and then headed downtown. At 14th Street we said good bye and I headed over to the Westbeth Center to meet up with Barbara and catch up with her. There are some fun things in the works at The Ink Pad so stay tuned for more on that! I made it home from the city just in time to say goodbye to my Aunt and Uncle, it was great to have them here and they will be missed. This morning I’m headed back into Manhattan to work at The Ink Pad for the day so if you are around come by and say hello!

My friend Michael is on a roll, he has another post today for the Mojo Monday sketch! Some more really neat Halloween cards! You can check them out HERE! 🙂

My friend Danielle had asked me for a birthday card for her boyfriend’s dad’s birthday. He is a big boat fan so this is what I came up with. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Simon Says Stamp Large and Small Tags dies to cut out a piece of Night of Navy and another piece of Seaside Paper. On the larger tag I used the Project Life Corner Rounder to round the bottom corners. Using the Simon Says Stamp Sailboat Die I cut the negative from the smaller patterned paper tag and then tied them together with some Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord. They are then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A piece of Smoky Slate is cut out with the middle size Simon Says Stamp Splashy Waves Die, stamped with Happy Birthday from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Night of Navy and adhered to the bottom of the tag. My anchor is a piece of Solar White 110lb that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Set Sail Dies and then covered in Versa-Mark and Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder, it’s heat set and then adhered to card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Finally, a few red enamel dots from Recollections are added and complete the card. Danielle was quite happy with the card and I hope that the recipient was too! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card, thanks very much for visiting and have a simple Sunday! 🙂

  • Pals Paper Arts 270

That was an interesting Friday. I found out at work that they are having cuts and my job has been eliminated. I have to go in on Monday and see if there are any other positions available that I would be interested in. I believe that everything happens for a reason, so I need to think about what I want to do. I would like to get a job that I really enjoy or maybe find some way to work for myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated! To go along with that cheerful news it rained here all day yesterday. But I’m off to Manhattan this morning and then at The Ink Pad tomorrow so it will be a good weekend!

And yes, Michael has yet another post for you! That’s three in a row! He’s definitely on a roll! You can take a look at his latest creation HERE!

Now on to today’s card, it’s for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

    PPA 270

I went with a birthday card, they are something that I need to add to my ever growing stash! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. It’s cut to 4″ wide and I heat embossed the chevrons from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder down the left side. A piece of Always Artichoke is embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered next to the chevrons with SNAIL. My frame is cut from Sahara Sand using the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Frame Die. I heat embossed the heart image from the same set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Blackberry Bliss and adhered it to the frame with 2-Way Glue. The frame is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The happy is also from the same set and is heat embossed in White on Always Artichoke and adhered to the heart with Foam Tape. To balance the card a bit I cut out the 2 and u from more Always Artichoke using the Papertrey Ink Block Alphabet and Numbers Dies. They are adhered to the card with more 2-Way Glue. You knew there had to be some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins on there somewhere so I did a scattering of them around the heart. I love that geometric heart and the typed sentiments in the I See You Set, so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Thanks very much for coming by today! I wish you all a fun Saturday! 🙂

  • Freshly Made Sketches 206

It was another overcast day here until around 5:30 and then the sun came out. We are to have another rainy day today, I guess it’s making up for all of the nice weather we had over the summer! Last night I took my aunt and uncle out to Jackie Riley’s Pub for a few drinks and we met up with Brian. I’m not one to go out to a bar but we had a really nice time! I even ran into my friend Victoria, always nice to see her! A pretty good night for a Wednesday!

Before I headed out last night I made my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 206

A simple shaker card, well about as simple as a shaker card can get, and something nice and bright too! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb, I cut out the negative circle with the Circles Collection Framelits. I used the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Circle and Circle Loops dies to cut out some Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Real Red. The Happy Birthday is adhered around the negative circle with 2-Way Glue along with the rest of the die cuts. I adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the back of the panel. Another circle is cut from a piece of 1/4″ Fun Foam and that is then adhered to the back of the panel with SNAIL. Some confetti that I got from Party City is added and the panel is then adhered to the card with some more SNAIL. Like I said, as simple as a shaker card can get and nice and bright! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a terrific Thursday! 🙂

  • Paper Players 264

That was a pretty nice Tuesday! Work was just as expected and the training was even more fun that I thought it would be (insert sarcasm)! It was an overcast day but didn’t start to drizzle until around 4:00. When I got home I stopped at my house and watched some YouTube videos before heading out to dinner with the family. We went to the George Martin Burger Bar in Massapequa, Erika works there. It’s a new restaurant, it’s only been open for about three weeks. The food was really good and the place is nice. I even have a family picture for you!

    Burger Bar Dinner 9-2015

From left to right: Erika, my Dad, Mum, Aunt Janet, Me, Uncle Steve, my Brother and little Daniel who is always ready for a picture! When we got home I stayed outside talking to my Uncle until it started to rain around 9:30. A very nice evening indeed!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Before we get to it I want to thank Laurie for choosing me as her Headliner for last week’s challenge!! You can see my original post here and the winner’s post here. Now on to this week and it’s a sketch…

    Paper Players #264

I used some more goodies from the My Mind’s Eye My Story Collection. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb with the front covered in a piece of Black. On top of that is a piece of paper from the My Story 6×6 Paper Pad. I adhered a piece of My Story Washi Tape to some Solar White 110lb and then adhered it across the middle with SNAIL. The main panel is a journaling card from the My Story Collection and it’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. One of the buttons form the My Story Chipboard Buttons has some Hemptique Baker’s Twine tied in a bow though it. It’s already got adhesive on the back so that’s what holds it in place. Finally a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and some Recollections Enamel Dots finish the card. I do love the colors in the My Story collection and the journaling card makes for a different way to add a greeting! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! I thank you for visiting with me today and I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 16 – Card Maker’s Choice!

Monday… why?! LOL! It wasn’t too bad of a day actually. It was in the 80’s and in the middle of the day it rained for about 45 minutes and then the sun was blazing for the rest of the day. Work was busy and I have a training tomorrow, those are always fun! NOT! When I got home my Simon Says Stamp Card Kit had arrived so I played with that for a bit and then watched some TV while Taylor laid in the middle of the floor and watched YouTube on her MacBook. I also spoke to my cousin Jules and she got her new card today. It’s a Citroen C1 in a fun dark gray with a pink roof!

    Jules' New Citroen

Cute car isn’t it?! As you can see it was a sunny day in London today too! In other news after a lengthy hiatus Mr. Trent is back with a blog post! He entered the Pals Paper Arts challenge this week! Click HERE and go on over and give his fun card a peek!

Now on to my card for today, it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and we have your favorite this week…

    SIP Any Challenge 16 800

Yes! Make anything that you like! I went with a Christmas card featuring the now sold out limited edition collaboration Simon Says Stamp with Lawn Fawn Cheesy Holidays Photopolymer Stamp Set and Dies. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Let’s Bokeh in the Snow 6×6 Paper Pad. Across the bottom is a piece of Chocolate Chip stamped with the Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set in Early Espresso. The greeting is from the aforementioned Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. For my snowflakes I used the Lawn Fawn Mini Snowflakes Lawn Cuts. They are cut from Solar White 80lb and adhered to the background with 2-Way Glue. The shaker is made using the Lawn Fawn Ready, Set, Snow Photopolymer Stamp Set and Shaker Additions. I stamped the snowflakes in Smoky Slate, the mice are from the Cheesy Holidays Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I cut them out with the coordinating Lawn Cuts and adhered them to the background with more 2-Way Glue. The shaker is assembled with 1/4″ Fun Foam, Window Sheet and Score Tape. Some Seed Beads are used for the shaker material and I attached it to the card with some Magnet Tape so you can take it off again! I love that little cheese christmas tree, so cute! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Designer’s Choice Challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards. We hope to see yours in the gallery! Thank you for taking some time to come by and see me today! Have a great Tuesday! 🙂

  • Mojo Monday 417

Another weekend for the books. Went by too fast as it always does. I had a relaxing day. Heather came by and we went out and got some bagels for breakfast. We stopped back at my house and then stopped by my parents so she could say hello to my Aunt and Uncle. After that Heather went to get a manicure so I went to A.C. Moore to see if the had some Iridescent Medium that I wanted to try, it’s supposed to be a bit like Wink of Stella, I’ll let you know! From there we went to Target and picked up some groceries. Heather headed home and I worked on a few projects and finished up my laundry. Later on I ran to Michaels and picked up some goodies and then stopped by my parent’s again to see my Aunt and Uncle. Around 11:40 I went out to look at the Super Moon. Not a bad Sunday. Here is a picture of the moon from earlier in the evening…

The start of a new week also means a new Mojo Monday sketch…

Yay! A Tall & Skinny, love those! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Black. The background is a piece of Hello Honey that I stamped in Hello Honey with the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp. My panel is a piece of paper from the My Mind’s Eye My Story 6×6 Paper Pad and it’s backed with Basic Black and adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the bottom is a piece of My Story Washi Tape that I adhered to a piece of Solar White and then to the card with SNAIL. My square is a piece of Basic Black backed with some Blushing Bride and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The butterfly is cut out from a piece of Gold Foil Sheet with the Simon Says Stamp Leanna Craft Die and adhered to the square with a Glue Dot. I heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Paper Hug Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Basic Black and adhered it to the center of the butterfly with Foam Tape. Finally some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins finish the card. I do love that My Mind’s Eye My Store collection, great colors and fun embellishments! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery!
