Lovely Pencil Flowers

I’m happy to report that Small Business Saturday was a success at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Renee had her Holiday Extravaganza which was fun. Her Son Nicholas and his friend Ben were there to help. Taylor came by in the afternoon and so did my friend Melissa so all in all it was a great day. After work I stopped at my house to drop off my stuff and then met Heather over at Geroge’s. She made me some rigatoni alla vodka for dinner and I had a piece of apple pie for dessert! After my pleasant culinary experience we headed out to see Patti and Tom and the kids again. We listened to music and danced and sang! So much fun! Today I’m not feeling great so I’m going to stay home. I have some things that I can work on here and need to catch up on some stuff anyway.

I couldn’t wait to play with the new Hello Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set from Concord & 9th and I actually made this card a few weeks ago! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black. I stamped the large floral image from the Hello Lovely Set in Altenew Jet Black Ink with my Mini MISTI, just in case I didn’t get a perfect impression. While I had the stamp in there I stamped it again so I could show the difference between it being colored in and stamped with the filler images. The card is the one that I colored in with my Prismacolor Pencils. I adhered it to the card base with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. For the greeting I die cut another piece of black using the Concord & 9th Wonderful Words Dies and adhered it to the card in the lower right with Multi-Matte Medium. Just for a little sparkle I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins. I’m really happy with the way that the colored pencils worked with the image. I did stamp one with some Altenew Crisp Inks using the filler images just so you could see what that looks like too! I hope that you like today’s card and let me know which one you prefer! Freshly Made Sketches 264

Did you all survive Black Friday?! If you think about it Thanksgiving is a pretty brutal time of the year! We stuff ourselves on Thursday and then shop for 24 or more hours! I hope that all of you that did brave the stores are taking today to recuperate! It was a nice day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday, I got to see lots of people and my friend Marianne brought me lunch and the hung out with me for the rest of the day. My friend Sandy also stopped by! After work I had dinner with my Parents and then Taylor came by my house to make a card. Then she said that she wanted to go to Target and see what Black Friday deals they had left! It was actually not too busy and I got a few Blu-rays and some coffee! Today is Small Business Saturday so my specials continue today! Hope it’s busy at the store again! 😀

I did manage to get in a bit of crafty time at the Store and made my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge…

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and for my background I used a piece of Echo Park Summer Party Blazing Floral 12×12 Paper. My panel is a piece of Ballerina Pink and I used the Concord & 9th Layers of Love Die to cut out that fun heart with the floral border. Before I adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner I used the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp and some Soft Pink Ink to give it a little more interest. I also cut a piece of Gold Mirror Card using the Layers of Love Die and adhered that piece in the upper right corner. The greeting is cut from more Gold Mirror Card and two piece of Solar White 110lb with the Concord & 9th Kind Card Frame Add-On Die. I cut off the ends and used Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhered them stacked. The greeting is then adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium along with a few Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequins. I love the flowers peeking through the heart and of course that pink woodgrain is so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Paper Craft Crew 220

It was another windy, chilly day yesterday. I did get a lot accomplished at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Taylor even came up to see me! After work I stopped home to drop off my stuff and then headed over to Heather’s so that we could go out to Bohemia and visit our friends Patti and Tom and their two daughters. We had a nice evening and I even got to drive Heather’s new car home! Today the Store is closed but I have to run over there and wait for UPS and FedEx to deliver some packages. After that I’m going to head over to my old office and visit my former co-workers. It’s been ages since I have seen Nancy and I can’t wait to catch up with her! 😀

Today is Wednesday and time for a new Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

I turned the sketch sideways and made my card that way! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the snowflakes from the Concord & 9th Joy Photopolymer Stamp Set in Delicata Golden Glitz Ink and then added a piece of American Crafts Gold Glitter Tape along the bottom right. Next up is a panel of Ice Gold Curious Metallic that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Dotted Squares Stackables Lawn Cuts. The panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My cup, spoon and marshmallows are from the Concord & 9th Let’s Chat Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed all of the images, the cup in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and the spoon in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder both onto Gold Mirror Card. The marshmallows are heat embossed in more white onto a piece of Solar White 110lb and I cut all of the images out with my Scissors. The JOY is cut from American Crafts Gold Glitter Card using the Concord & 9th Joy Die. All of the pieces are adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins for some extra sparkle and the card is done! I love the gold with the white, it makes for a very subtle and elegant card don’t you think? Mojo Monday 475

Is it really Monday already?! I was extra tired at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. Not sure why but I needed a nap! It was so windy and cold here yesterday too, like 50mph winds, crazy! It even snowed a little last night! 🙁 Taylor did come up to the store to keep me company and make her grandfather a birthday card. I tried to work on some things and did manage to get a few things done but not as much as I had wanted to. Dinner with my Parents was good as always and after I stole a donut from them and came home and had a little coffee and watched some TV. The power keeps going out here for a second every so often lately, it’s getting really annoying! I think that I need to get a battery backup for my computer, not good to have it keep shutting off! Today I will finish up what I wanted to get done yesterday. Renee will be back in the store today, she has her Home Decor class today. 😀

I always look forward to Monday’s because it’s time for a new Mojo Monday sketch…

I used quite a few different products on my card for today! The base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Classic Cherry with the Hero Arts Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints Background heat embossed in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. The main panel is a piece of Prima Sweet Peppermint No Peeking 12×12 Paper backed with a piece of Rose Chintz. I heat embossed the Hand Drawn Snowflakes again onto a piece of Yellow with Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder and flagged the right side. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th O Christmas Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black onto another piece of Rose Chintz backed with a piece of Herb Garden. For my snowflake I used the Tim Holtz Paper Snowflakes Thinlit to cut out a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Card and adhered it to the card with a 3D Foam Square. All that was left to do was to add a few Pretty Pink Posh Silver Sequins! It’s definitely an eclectic mix of goodies and not my usual style but I do like the way it turned out! 25 Days of Christmas Tags featuring Concord & 9th!

Hi there! I hope that your weekend is off to a good start! I enjoyed day two of my Card Class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Danielle was in the night class and we ended up talking at the store until midnight! We certainly had a lot of catching up to do! Today Renee has a no-frills crop, I’ll get to spend some time with the ladies! Always a good way to start off the weekend!

For those of you that are regulars here on the blog you know that I’m a big fan of non-traditional Holidays! My tag today certainly fits within those parameters! I used the Concord & 9th Bags and Tags Dies to cut out a piece of Crisp Green and a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock. From the piece of White I then die cut the speech bubble. My trees are and greeting are from the Concord & 9th O Christmas Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the trees and snowflakes in Lawn Fawn Merman, Plastic Flamingo and Sugarplum Ink onto the the white pieces and heat embossed the sentiment in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto the Crisp Green Part. The white pieces are then adhered to the Crisp Green with 3D Foam Squares, my hole reinforcement is adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and a piece of American Crafts Bright Pink Primio Twine is tied through the top. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Lime Sorbet and Watermelon Sequins to finish it off! Like I said, non-traditional but bright and fun! I hope that you enjoyed my tag! Paper Players 321

Hi there! We had another lovely day yesterday! I completely forgot that I had a haircut yesterday morning until my iPhone reminded me! After my haircut I headed over to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and got busy checking in my Notions order. I received lots of fun new goodies including some Pinkfresh Studio Stamps and WOW! Embossing Powder, I can’t wait to play with that stuff! After work I came home and had a quick dinner and then Andrew came by. We continued working on our little project, hopefully we will finish on schedule! Today is the first day of this month’s Card Class featuring Concord & 9th! Looking forward to seeing my students! 😀

I have been making some kits at the Store and one of the Holiday Kits still available for purchase. I wanted to let you know about it before I offered it elsewhere! It features Lawn Fawn Stamps, Dies, Ink, Patterned Paper and an Acrylic Block. There are four examples included on a sheet in the kit and supplies to make a lot of cards! Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge…

My card all began with me wanting to use the new Concord & 9th Heartstrings Die! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card stock with the front covered in a piece of Hunter Green. I die cut a piece of Classic Cherry with the Concord & 9th Heartstrings Die. In the lower left corner I stamped the trees from the Concord & 9th O Christmas Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Silver Pigment Ink and did the same for the greeting across the bottom. A piece of Acetate is adhered to the back and then I used the large open heart from the dies set to cut out a piece of Fun Foam. That is then adhered to the panel with E-Z Runner. I added my Silver Pretty Pink Posh Sequins to the card and then adhered the panel over the top. The small heart from the die set is used to cut out a piece of Silver Glitter Card and I adhered it to the center of the heart with 3D Foam Squares. A few Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet Sequins adhered randomly compete the card! I think that the Heartstrings Die Cut makes it look like love is shining down on the Christmas trees! Corny I know! LOL! Paper Craft Crew 219

Yesterday flew by at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! It rained most of the day, sometimes poured but Angie, Renee and I were very productive! I got a few cards made and sent out a reminder email for this week’s Card Class. After work I came home, had dinner with my Parents and then Heather came by to get me so we could run to BJ’s and Target. I desperately needed creamer! LOL! I couldn’t get my usual Italian Sweet Cream and had to get Hazelnut on Sunday, I haven’t had a good cup of coffee since then! As soon as I got back I made a cup and remembered how much of a difference a good creamer makes! Today I have to get ready for this week’s class, I don’t think that Sue will be joining me, she has my friend John the Painter at her house. 😀

So it’s Wednesday, time for another Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

In Concord & 9th’s release this month they brought back an older set that I actually didn’t have and that’s what I used on my card today! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Crd Stock. For my background I used a piece of Kraft. I stamped the greeting in Hero Arts Black Ink from the Concord & 9th Let’s Chat Photopolymer Stamp Set and then wrapped some May Arts Natural Twine around the top and tied it in a bow. The panel is then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My images are from the same set, the spoon is heat embossed in Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder into a piece of Galvanized Curious Metallic, the cup and saucer are stamped in Black onto some Ivory 110lb. I cut all of the images out with my Scissors and then stamped the coffee in Soft Brown, dried it with my Heat Tool and then stamped the latte heart in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The saucer and spoon are adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and the cup with 3D Foam Squares. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Onyx and Sand Sequins and the card is done! Fab Friday 100

I enjoyed my day in Manhattan yesterday as I always do! The train was late as it usually is but I got to read some of my book on the way in and enjoyed my time with Ella. I also wandered around a little before heading back out to the Island. Heather arrived in Florida with her luggage which she was quite happy about. Whenever she flies Delta they inevitably misplace it! I had dinner with my Parents and Taylor and then Taylor and I ran a few errands. I also got to spend a little time in the Stampin’ Galley and make my card for today! I miss the Stampin’ Galley! Today I’ll be back at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, lots to do! 😀

To finish off this week we have a new Fab Friday Challenge for you…

I went with a nice simple almost one layer card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of my images and greeting are from the Concord & 9th Love You, Mean It Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the circles twice in Versa-Mark onto a piece of Solar White 80lb and heat embossed them in Gold Embossing Powder. The rest of the images are stamped in Hero Arts Grape Juice, Butter Bar and Mint Julep with the greeting stamped in Grape Juice. I adhered the panel to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam and added some Gold Seed Beads and Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to the card to finish it off! I love the simplicity of the card, the greeting is wonderful and I always love when I can use just one Stamp Set! I hope that you like my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Sparkle & Shine!

Hello again! This is my second post for today! It’s time once again for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge! We are up to number 3 and this one is a Sparkle & Shine Theme! Who doesn’t love a little sparkle and shine?! You all know that I do! You have until Wednesday, December 7th to play along, winners will be announced on Thursday, December 8th! Now here is this month’s challenge badge…

I finally got my hands on some of the Hero Arts Clear Acetate Note Cards and couldn’t wait to use one and that’s what my card base for today is! I used the Concord & 9th Grateful Leaves Dies to cut out a few from some American Crafts Gold Glitter Card Stock. I cut out three of the small leaves and one of the larger ones. From the larger one I die cut the grateful from the same set and again from a piece of American Crafts Black Glitter Card Stock. I then cut more leaves from Solar White 80lb, three more of the small ones and four more of the large ones. To one of those I added Dot Runner Adhesive and adhered the large gold leaf and then inlaid the Black grateful into it. The leaves are then adhered to the card front with more Dot Runner. On the inside I adhered the small white leaves and large leaf to cover up the adhesive and did the same directly behind the large leaf on the front and back of the back of the card so there was a place to write a greeting. I do love the way that the leaves seem to just float there, gives it a nice whimsical look! SIP Challenge 73 – Grateful!

That was a Monday for sure. I woke up with a little bit of a headache, but it wasn’t too bad. It was hot in the apartment so I’m guessing that’s why. I had a nice quiet ride to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and managed to get two cards made in the morning. The headache got worse as the day progressed and I finally took some Excedrin around 4:30. It had gotten a little bit better by the time I headed home and I felt much better after dinner. I ran a few errands and watched some crafty YouTube videos before calling it a night. Today I want to focus on planning out my classes and future events a little better. I need to work on that, I’m not the greatest at planning ahead! 😀

So, today is Tuesday and that means that there is a new challenge over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog…

I have to say that the grateful die in the Concord & 9th Grateful Leaves set is probably one of my favorites of all time! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I die cut the grateful from a piece of Deep Blue and then traced the outline onto the card base. I then heat embossed the sentient and leaf from the Concord & 9th Lacy Leaf Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. While it doesn’t seem complicated it sure did tale a long time to adhere all of those Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequins! I kept checking to make sure that I hadn’t missed any spots! After the Multi-Matte Medium dried I put some 3D Foam Squares around the sequins and added Fun Foam to the top and then adhered the panel to the card. I did take a picture of what it looked like before I put it together…

Messy cluster of sequins! Just a few more Gold Sequins and the card is finished! I do love the look of all of the sequins through the die cut grateful, it almost looks like it’s a shaker!
