SIP Challenge 43 – A Sketch!

So, how was your Monday? Mine was pretty good! I crafted with Andrea via FaceTime in the morning and managed to get three cards made! Love when the Mojo is flowing! It was supposed to rain yesterday but didn’t. It was chilly but sunny with a little wind mixed in for fun! I went over to my parent’s for dinner and then Danielle stopped by! I love having weekly visits from her! We chatted and listened to some music and watched some of Magic Mike XXL. After she left I ran to the bank and Target. There were of course rearranging the aisle that I needed to go down so I didn’t get much! Today I have some more crafting to get done, always a good day when there is crafting involved!

It’s Tuesday and I have my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge…

I used a bunch of different goodies to make my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Neenah Desert Storm 80lb that I heat embossed in Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp. It’s cut out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles. A piece of Gold Mirror Card Stock is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames and I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Acetate and a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card. Some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink is applied to the Watercolor Card with my Mini Ink Blending Tool. The Gold Frame is adhered to the Acetate with Scor-Tape and some 3M Foam Tape is adhered to the back of that. I added some Gold Chunky Glitter and adhered the Watercolor Card to the back to complete the shaker. My cool flowers and vase are cut from more Watercolor Card using the Concord & 9th Bouquet Die. I used my Mini Ink Blending tool and some Q-Tips to add the Mermaid Lagoon, Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple, Fossilized Amber and Twisted Citron to die cut and the adhered it to the front of the shaker with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. A strip of Vellum is flagged on the right and adhered to the shaker with Vellum Adhesive. My lovely is cut out twice from Ivory 110lb with the Concord & 9th Wonderful Words Die. More Spary Adhesive holds them to each other and a little Multi-Matte Medium adheres it to the banner. Some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen is added to the lovely and the card is done! I really do love that Bouquet Die and it looks even more fun with the gold glitter in the shaker behind it! Flutter Beautiful Bouquet

Hey there! I hope that your weekend is off to a great start! I enjoyed my time at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday! Renee usually does some kind of special when I’m there minding the shop and yesterday she posted on FaceBook that if you mentioned the post you got 20% off your purchase! Pretty cool! My parents brought Daniel by to see me and a little while later Brian stopped by with Izzy! Nice to have some visitors along with the customers! I FaceTimed with Andrea and updated my old MacBook Pro that I haven’t turned on in over a year! Still runs pretty well considering it’s over seven years old! On my way home I stopped by Heather’s so we could run up to IKEA once again! LOL! She had to get some greenery and a chandelier! Once I got back to my house I had dinner and watched a little TV before bed. Today I’ll be spending the day at The Ink Pad with the lovely Barbara! Come on by and say hi!

So I got some new goodies from Concord & 9th, love that company! I needed to play with them so that’s what yielded today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the entire front with a piece of Black 110lb. Next I took a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card and used my Spellbinders Artisan Explorer Machine to emboss the Concord & 9th Bouquet Die into the paper. I used Tumbled Glass, Mowed Lawn, Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry Distress Markers colored onto an acrylic block along with my paintbrush and some water to loosely trace over the die lines. It’s trimmed down a little and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My butterfly is cut from a piece of Vellum with the Concord & 9th Floral and Flutter Dies. I cut it again from some more Black 110lb and then trimmed off the wings and adhered the body to the Vellum with Multi-Matte Medium. It’s then adhered to the card with a thin sliver of Foam Tape. The greeting is cut from still more Black 110lb using the Concord & 9th Beautiful You Dies and that is also adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally what card would be complete without a few Aquamarine and Sparkling Clear Pretty Pink Posh Sequins?! I do love the Concords & 9th Dies, especially that butterfly, so nice and different! Freshly Made Sketches 228

Hi there! I hope that you had a nice week and are ready for the weekend! My day yesterday was great! I went over to Heather’s for lunch, we had Subway. After that I stopped by to see Daniel for a bit, he was being shy again! LOL! My friend Sue stopped by my house for a bit and we got all caught up, she also picked up some things that I had for her and Michael. Around 4:00 I made my way over to Scrap-A-Latte for class. One of the students came early and worked on her cards while I finished cutting. Renee and I had Wendy’s for dinner, you just can’t beat 4 for $4! It’s a very budget friendly meal! Brian was nice enough to bring me a Starbucks Flat White, he’s such a good guy! Class was loads of fun, we had some new students and some regulars! We lost the sock die from thy Loads of Fun Set for a little while but it was found stuck to some Washi Tape! By the time we all got finished it was 11:00 and time to head home. Today Jen Starr is teaching a class at the store so I’m going to go over and take a peek!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I went super clean and simple! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. The panel is the same and I partially die cut the thoughtful with the Concord & 9th Being Class Dies to leave it hanging off the right side. My greeting is then stamped in Onyx Black from the Coordinating Concord & 9th Being Class Photopolymer Stamp Set. Next I heat embossed the Concord & 9th Tree Ring Photopolymer Stamp in Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder on a piece of Baked Brown Sugar and then cut it out with my Scissors. It’s held to the front of the panel and the top and left sides are cut off. I then lined up the die again and cut out the negative from the Tree Ring and adhered it to the panel with Foam Tape. The panel is then mounted to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I love the simplicity of the card, it may be one of my favorite ones ever! Fab Friday 83

Let’s see… what is today?! Why I think that it’s FRIDAY!! Yesterday was a pretty nice day here. There were a few brief showers but in between I managed to get the top down in the car! I ran some errands with Heather and then spent a little time with Daniel before heading over to Scrap-A Latte for card class. Andrew and Kayleigh picked up some Blaze Pizza and we had dinner before class started. It was a fun time, Thursday’s are a little more laid back than Friday’s. After class I caught up with Danielle and on the way home I stopped at Heather’s for Thirsty Thursday. I have some crafty things to get done this morning before heading back over to Scrap-A-Latte for the second night of class. I’ll post the cards that we made on Sunday and also have a little surprise too!

Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for our sketch challenge…

The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered two strips, one of Silver Glimmer Paper and one Bermuda Bay to a piece of Black 110lb, stapled them with my Tiny Attacher and then adhered the panel to the card base. Next up is a piece of Cucumber Crush that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Waves 3D Embossing Folder. That is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My main panel is a piece of Bermuda Bay, I stamped the greeting and the map from the Concord & 9th Map Love Photopolymer Stamp Set. The map is stamped in Mama Elephant Mojito Pigment Ink and heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. For the greeting I used Onyx Black and then adhered the panel to the card with more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. To give it a little sparkle I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Peacock Feather Iridescent, Shamrock and Sparkling Clear Sequins with Multi-Matte Medium. I love bold look of the Mojito Ink on the Bermuda Bay card stock and of course that 3D Embossing Folder is so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! Kind Cage

Hi there! I hope that you are all having a nice weekend! I had a good Saturday! I headed into Manhattan to hang at The Ink Pad with Barbara for the day. My friend Kim came down and met me for lunch, we ate fresh! I also got a few new goodies from a recent order that they got in! I’ll share some of those with you this week! When I got home I had a sandwich for dinner and then just chilled for the rest of the evening. This morning I’m having breakfast with Heather and then we will run a few errands. I think it will be a lazy Sunday!

My project that I have for you today is not a card. When I was at Scrap-A-Latte the other day I played with some of the copious amount of Mixed Media supplies that they have. I actually finished the project on Friday and even had the frame for it! The base of the project is Chipboard that I coated with Ranger Studio Gesso. While that dried I used the Tim Holtz Alterations Mixed Media Thinlits to cut out some 80lb Neenah Card Stock to use as a stencil. Some Ranger Opaque Texture Paste is applied with a palette knife over the stencil that I created in the upper right and lower left corners. Once that dried I mixed up Broken China, Evergreen Bough, Picket Fence and Black Soot Distress Paint with water and applied it over most of the surface of the project. When that was dry I coated it with Multi-Matte Medium to seal it. Some more Multi-Matte Medium is used to adhere a card from the Idea-Ology Thrift Shop Ephemera Pack and then more over the top of it. The cage is cut out using the Tim Holtz Caged Bird Bigz Die from more chipboard and coated with Gesso and then Multi-Matte Medium so I could apply some Distress Rock Candy Glitter over it. I cut out a piece of Black 110lb with a tags punch and adhered a stamp from the same Ephemera Pack to it with Multi-Matte Medium. A piece May Arts Twine is tied through the top and adhered to the back of the piece. I adhered the cage with Foam Tape along with the Kind that is stamped in Onyx Black Ink using the Concord & 9th Being Classy Photopolymer Stamp Set and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. Down in the lower left are some Prima Flowers and Leaves. I inserted it into a black frame and than completed the project. I had a lot of fun creating the piece and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would! I hope that you enjoyed today’s project and are inspired to try something different too! Concord & 9th at The Ink Pad

What a night I had! Yesterday I dropped the Chrysler off at the store for Renee and Brian picked me up and dropped me off at Heather’s. I went with her to get her haircut and see if I could get mine cut too. I got an appointment at 2:30, in the mean time I ran and got us lunch. Heather dropped me off at my house and I went and ate lunch at my parent’s so I could see Daniel for a bit. After that I cut for class and then went and got my haircut, completely new and funky, I needed a change! Back home to get my stuff together and head for the train. When I got to The Ink Pad Anna told me that channel 4 news was at the store and that she would be on the 5:00 news! She’s a little celebrity now! I helped Anna out with some stuff at the store and then got ready for class. We had a great time as always and Jamey even brought a friend that was a first timer! When I went to lock up the store the gate wouldn’t come down. I tried all sorts of things and couldn’t get it to work. I called Anna and her brother-in-law came by and had to pull it down. In the mean time Renee called to tell me that the car overheated and all of the antifreeze leaked out when she got home. By the time I got to Penn to get the train it was 10:45. So I’m here at the Scrap-A-Latte this morning and will have to go wth dad later to see what’s up with the car. Sigh… how’s that for a Friday! 🙁

Paper Craft Crew 178

Happy Hump Day peeps! I enjoyed my day yesterday! I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and then around 10:40 I headed over to see my friend Sue. We got caught up and then worked on some Easy stuff before heading to our favorite place for lunch, Panera! I had my usual Tomato Soup and a Grilled Cheese, YUM! After that we ran back to my house to pick up some more stuff for Etsy. I showed Sue some of the Taylor Swift Concert on Apple Music, she is a big Taylor Swift fan and loved it. I came back home around 5:00 and got my stuff together so I could head into Manhattan. When I got to the train station I found out that the trains were not going into Penn Station but terminating at Jamaica so I had to take the E and then F Subways to get over to Kim. We went to Baker Street for dinner and had delicious salads and the came back to the apartment and I set up some of her new electronic goodies! This morning I’m waiting for the TimeWarner man and then I’ll stop by and see Isabella before heading back out to the Island.

Hmm… Wednesday, that means that today is another Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

Nice and simple! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Crd Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. For my background I stamped the Hero Arts Pearl Strings Bold Prints Background Stamp that Renee brought me back from CHA in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky Ink on Solar White 80lb and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam SNAIL. Across the middle is a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and Black 110lb. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Being Classy Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the Thoughtful in Simon Says Stamp Scuba Ink using my MISTI so I could double stamp it to make sure that it was nice and dark! It’s cut out with the Coordinating Being Classy Dies and adhered to the strips with Multi-Matte Medium. The so is stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black directly onto the background. Another piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Heart Stackables Lawn Cuts with a small red punched heart in the middle. A piece of Hemptique Black & White Baker’s Twine tied in a bow is then adhered to the small heart with a Mini Glue Dot. I love that nice bold greeting paired with the cool background! Paper Craft Crew 176

I am so not enjoying this colder weather! It was 14 degrees this morning, that’s just not necessary! I thought that my favorite feature of my car was the convertible part but the heated seats are running a close second! How many more days until Spring?! I had a somewhat productive day, I crafted and looked into finally updating my blog to the look that I actually moved it for over a year ago! Sometimes that backend stuff is a little complicated and you need to step away from it for a little… well… long time and go back and take another look! Hopefully by the end of the week the new look will be up barring any new snags! I got to see little Daniel for a bit too and Taylor graced me with her presence for a short visit! I ran out last night to get gas and it was far too cold for me to do anything else, I couldn’t wait to get back into the warm house! Today I’ll be going over to see my friend Sue! Love spending time with her!

My card for today is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

I played with some more Concord & 9th goodies on today’s card, loving them! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of Scotch Black Glitter Washi Tape and some Ruler Washi Tape. I used an old Stampin’ Up! sunburst stencil and some Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks Ink with a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool to create the circle. It’s cut out with a Sizzix Circles Framelit and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The lightbulb and greeting are from the Concord & 9th Shine Brighter Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the light bulb on Vellum using Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and Ranger Liquid Platinum for the filament. The base is more Liquid Platinum embossed on Brushed Silver. They are both cut out with the coordinating Shine Brighter Dies. I used Multi-Matte Medium to adhere the bulb and SNAIL for the base. My greeting is heat embossed on a piece of Black 110lb with more Hero Arts White and also cut out with the Sizzix Circles. I added a few Wood Veneer Stars around the greeting and some Pretty Pink Posh Onyx and Sparkling Clear Sequins to finish the card. Yes, I am a little obsessed with that Black Glitter Washi and the sequins, well we all know how I feel about those! SIP Challenge 29 – A Sketch!

I hope that you all survived your first day back to work! I went over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a bit. It had been way too long since I have seen her and we got caught up and I picked up some paper to make the cards for this month’s card classes. From there I came back home and FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit and made my card for today. I spoke to Michael for a while and then had some spaghetti for dinner at Mum and Dad’s. Later on I took a ride over to see Heather and we watched the end of The Notebook and The Lucky One. She is a big fan of ABC Family! LOL! It was quite chilly here, especially last night, and I miss our warm December already!

It’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and this week we have a sketch from Carolyn…

I got some goodies from Concord & 9th yesterday in the mail that I will be using for a class at The Ink Pad on January 29th so I decided that I would break them in! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock with a strip of Gold Glimmer Paper across the top. I stamped the Tree Ring Photopolymer Stamp in Soft Suede on a piece of Sahara Sand and cut it out with my Paper Snips. It’s adhered to the card with SNAIL. The three flags are a piece of 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon, 7/8″ Natural Cotton Ribbon and a piece of denim from an old pair of jeans. They are all adhered to the card with Scor-Tape. I heat embossed the heart and love from the Tree Hugs Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut that out with my Paper Snips too. It’s adhered to the card with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape. For a little extra sparkle I added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to the tree ring. I love the stamps and all of the texture from the ribbons and denim! A nice masculine Valentine! SIP Challenge 27 – Thanks!

Well it was warm here again yesterday but really foggy in the morning and then rained for most of the rest of the day. I was sure that Brian & Kim’s plane would be delayed but they actually landed 1/2 hour early! After I dropped them off I came home and FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit while I worked on some crafty projects. Later on in the afternoon I got a message from Heather that her Grandfather had passed away and she was there with him. It’s never easy to loose a family member but he lived a nice long 93 years and she has all of the great memories that she shared with him to remember him. Anthony and Bill came by to pick me up around 5:15 and we ran over to Walt Whitman Mall so that Anthony could get his mum’s Christmas Present. We also stopped at Lush and Bill and I got Holiday Spice Flat Whites from Starbuck, my new favorite drink! When I got back home I went over to Heather’s and Stephanie and Brian stopped by too. Nothing like spending a little time with your friends to make the sadness a little easier. This morning I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte for the day to watch the store for Renee. Not a bad way to spend a Tuesday!

Since it’s Tuesday it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This time the challenge will run for two weeks ending on December 27th. We thought that some Thank You cards would be needed so that’s what the theme is…

I saw a card that Kristina Werner made the other day as part of her Holiday Card Series for 2015 and I had to give it a try! I took a piece of Vellum and heat embossed the Thank You from the Concord & 9th Painted Thank You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The pocket is created with my Fuse Tool and a We R Memory Keepers 12×12 Page Protector. Before sealing the top I added some Pretty Pink Posh Enchanted Garden Sequin Mix to the pocket. On the back is a piece of Elegant Eggplant and Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Craft Dies and adhered to each other and then to the pocket. I added the white so that you would have a place to write a message. I love this card! It’s like the ultimate shaker card!
