Retro Strong Man Birthday

Yes, I had a lazy Sunday morning again! We got back to Long Island around 6:30 last night. I came home for a bit and unpacked and then Michael came over so that we could stop by Brian & Kim’s for Kevin’s Birthday party. My friend Lorren was there and she had asked where Michael lived and he said Brasil. I said that he had grown up in Hicksville and so had Lorren. It turns out that they lived on the same block only a few houses away from one another! Michael knows Lorren’s family and they spent some time catching up on the rest of the neighbors! It really is a small world! We came back to my house and watched some TV before calling it a night. This morning was spent chatting about the scrapbook show and surfing the internet. It’s fast becoming my favorite way to spend a Sunday morning! I have a few pictures that I took from the top of the parking garage in Lancaster. Just really cool buildings and one of me and Michael.

It was little windy, gotta love that hair! LOL!

I needed to play with some of the goodies that I picked up from the Scrapbook show so I used some on today’s card. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. I used my new Crop-a-dile Corner Chomper to round the corners on the card, background and bottom of the tag. The background is a piece of paper from Fancy Pants called Everyday Circus and it’s adhered to the card with SNAIL. My tag is a piece of Very Vanilla, I used the Ornate Tag Topper Punch for the top and stamped the strong man from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. His pants and shoes are colored in with Copics. The greeting is also from the same set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Real Red and cut out with a die from Dies By Dave. I tied some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine though the top. The cool ViewMaster is a die from Echo Park and is cut out from some more Basic Black and tucked under the tag that’s adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I love the retro feel to the paper, I think that it goes just perfectly with the strong man! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 260

I won’t make a big deal about that fact that it’s Friday even though it’s my favorite day of the week! LOL! Yesterday was another good day! Michael stopped by at work on his way to his Dad’s to say hello. He got to meet some of my work peeps. After work it was off to Scrap-A-Latte for the first night of card class. The Thursday class is always a bit more relaxed and mellow than the Friday’s class so it’s a nice way to see how long it will take to make the cards and if there will be any issues that the students may have. After class I came home and chatted with Heather while I made my card for today. She is leaving for California in two weeks for a little vacation, I’m jealous! Today I have to go to one of the houses for work and then get my haircut after then it’s off to Scrap-A-Latte for night two of class. Tomorrow I’ll be in Manhattan at The Ink Pad with Michael for a little while in the morning and then I’m going to spend some time with Kim. I do love my weekends!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Geometric Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam, SNAIL and Multi-Purpose Glue. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies to cut out a piece of So Saffron. The two flags are Melon Mambo and Cucumber Crush. They are adhered behind the circle and then the circle is adhered to the card with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. I stamped the flower from the You’ve Got This Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and the heat embossed it with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Watercolor Paper. To color it in I used the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and an Aquapainter. It’s cut out with a die from Dies by Dave and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Finally my greeting, from the Crazy About You Stamp Set, is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on a piece of White and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I really do love the way a heat embossed and watercolored image looks and the colors in the Zig Pens is really nice and vibrant! Paper Players 251

Another nice day here on Long Island! A little overcast and on the hot side, but there was a nice breeze too. I dropped the Saab off to get inspected in the morning and my friend Robin came with me at lunch to go and pick it up. We stopped at Monty’s for lunch and had some pizza, delicious as always. After dinner I went over to Scrap-A-Latte to pick up some stuff for Michael and choose the papers from this month’s cards. I came home and made my card for today and then went over to see Michael at Sue’s to drop off the papers that I picked up and have a little computer tutorial. Another good day! I’m on a roll lately! LOL! I wanted to mention that Michael and I will be at The Ink Pad in Manhattan on Saturday from 11:00am to 5:00pm. If you are in the area please stop by and say hello!

That card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge…

I saw the sketch and put the card together in my head! Yes, I used the map Washi again, are you sick of it yet?! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I flicked some Heidi Swapp White Color Shine on a piece of Lost Lagoon and adhered it to the card for the background. I stamped the sun from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set in So Saffron on some white and cut it out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. The circle is then adhered to some Fun Foam and Papertrey Ink Jute Twine is behind it. The banner and the car are from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped the banner in Real Red and the car in Memento Tuxedo Black and used some of Dies By Dave’s new dies to cut them out. They are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My favorite Washi Tape is then adhered to some Neenah Solar White 80lb. The map is adhered to the circle with SNAIL and the road to that with more Foam Tape. I really do like that Guy Greetings Set don’t I and now with dies I like it even more! The washi tape, well we know that I love that! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Welcome to Stamp, Ink, Paper!!!!

An extra happy Monday to you! I had a rough start yesterday, lesson learned, but the rest of the day was nice. I went over and hung out with Brain and Kim for a bit and then came home and worked on some projects. I had a lot to get done this weekend in preparation for today’s announcement! I have been toying with the idea of starting my own challenge blog. I love playing along with all of the challenges that I do each week and seeing all of the amazing cards and projects that are submitted. I had fun being the co-captain on Can You Case It with my friend Eva. Since I already had a talented bunch of people Eva and I decided that I could take some of my team and move forward with my little project. So today marks the very first Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge!

I’m excited to be able to do this and I couldn’t have done it without the help of the rest of the Design Team! We have added a few new faces and there are some that you know from CYCI. We thought that we would start things off with a nice easy challenge, Getting to Know You! Make a card using your favorite Stamps, Ink and Paper! Whatever style you like! I can’t wait to see what you come up with! To make sure that there is enough time for everyone to participate this challenge will run for two weeks! Some of our Design Team is also giving away blog candy so make sure and go to the SIP Challenge Site and visit the other designers! We are also giving you the ability to vote for your favorites! Make sure that you cast your vote and the person with the most votes at the end of the challenge will be featured as our Audience Pick!

So without further ado here is the new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge…

I actually made a few cards for this but when I thought about what kind of card is my favorite I had to go with a college card! This one was inspired by one that I saw on Pinterest a while back. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Two layers, one of Neenah 80lb and one of Pink Pirouette, are adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. On top of that is a piece of Vellum that I heat embossed the Hero Arts Large Notebook Paper Background Stamp with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The wreath is from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder and cut out with a die from DiesByDave. I adhered some of the pearls that Mr. Trent sent me with Thermo-Web Bling Glue Dots. The heart is a piece of red felt from Michaels and is cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits and adhered with Glue Dots. For the flowers I used some Pink Pirouette and Watermelon Wonder with the Tim Holtz Tiny Tattered Florals Dies, they are also adhered with Glue Dots. One of the Subtles Collection Designer Buttons has a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine tied in a bow and it’s adhered with another Glue Dot. A few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine & Sparkle Sequins and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects. The stamped greeting is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Tip Top Taupe. The you is a piece of Pink Pirouette cut out with the Simon Says Stamp You Craft Die and adhered with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Phew! That’s a lot of stuff! LOL! I love the roses and the addition of the felt to the card, the wreath, well you know how I feel about that! So there is my first card for the NEW Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge blog! I really hope that you enjoyed it and that you will go over and see what the rest of the talented Design Team has to inspire you! We would love to see one of your creations in the gallery too! Freshly Made Sketches 189

It was a lovely day yesterday, nice and sunny and a bit warmer than it has been. When I got home from work little Daniel was at my parents. It’s hard to believe but he gets cuter every time that I see him. We had dinner and then Daniel and I played ball on the front porch. He was throwing it over the railing and I was catching it. Then he decided that it would be fun to give me a kiss through each of the banisters! He was so proud of himself! Like I said he just keeps getting cuter! Sandy also stopped by for a bit and then I headed over to Heather’s for Whiskey and Wine night! Always good to have some alone time with Heather!

So… today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I need to add some masculine cards to my stash so I had some fun with the By the Tide Set! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel on the front is Soft Sky and I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out a piece for my shaker. I used Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste and the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil to create the shiny bubbles. Some Fun Foam with a matching circle cut out is adhered to the back with SNAIL. I filled the shaker with some seed beads and covered the back with a piece of Vellum and then adhered the panel to the card. My fish is from the By the Tide Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with a eyeshadow applicator using Island Indigo, Garden Green and Calypso Coral Ink. I used a die to cut out the fish and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Island Indigo and also adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the card and coated the fish in Wink of Stella Clear Glitter for a little sparkle! I love the look of the Transparent Texture Paste and the neat seed beads! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for visiting me today! Perfect Borrowed Birthday

And it’s the start of the three day weekend! I had a nice Friday, work was good, I snuck out at 2:00! I came home and worked on my card for today and Skyped with Andrea. Sandy stopped by to pick up something that she left at my house on Thursday night and she also brought over her goodies that she got in the mail and now I have a few more things that I want! We also ran to Michaels quickly! Anthony and Bill came to get me at 7:00 and we went to Smash Burger for dinner. I had sweet potato fries, onion straws and fried pickles along with my burger! I did share everything except the sweet potato fries, they are delicious because they are so nice and crispy! From there we stopped at Starbucks and I had a mini vanilla bean Frappucino. We met up with Marissa and her friend Gina at the bar and had a fun time. I came home and went straight to bed! LOL! Today I’m planning on stopping by Scrap-A-Latte for a bit and then crafting too! A nice relaxing start to the weekend!

I promised that I would get all caught up on my cards from the classes at Scrap-A-Latte so here are the ones from last month’s class. We featured Reverse Confetti and I had loads of fun making the cards!

Aren’t they fun?!?! I love the donuts and the cool fragmented background with the sequin paper too!

Today I have a birthday card for you! Have you ever gotten a little obsessed with a stamp set or a particular layout?! I am a little obsessed with a particular stamp set and layout lately and I love to see how many different ways that I can use both! The base of today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb. Down the left side is a piece of the Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape. The panel is a piece of paper from the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper Pack, it’s adhered to a piece of Fun Foam and then to the card. The wreath is from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Old Olive and cut out with another one of the fantastic dies from DiesByDave! How happy was I when I saw this one?! I punched out some flowers with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack from Blackberry Bliss and adhered them to the wreath with Bling Glue Dots. A few pearls are adhered to the centers with Crystal Effects. I cut out some Basic Black and Neenah Solar White 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Wishing Die. They are adhered together and then to card. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sending and Wishing Photopolymer Stamp Set, I heat embossed it on Basic Black with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. Three sequins adhered to the card with more Crystal Effects compete the card! I really am obsessed with the Your Perfect Day Set and the layout, but I have used it for quite a few different style cards!
