  • PPA 139 and Sneak Peek

Hello there peeps! Welcome to Saturday! What is everyone doing this weekend? I’m going to try to get some stuff done around the house and then tomorrow morning I’m off to Manhattan to see a few friends. Hopefully the weather will be nice, it’s not fun in the city when it rains.

Today’s post is for the twice monthly Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This week we have a sketch provided by Margaret Moody…

I decided that this layout would work great for a holiday card. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I used two different strips of Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper for the background. The piece of ribbon across the middle is Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon and is adhered around the back with some Sticky Strip. For the panel in the middle I used some Cherry Cobbler for the backing and the front is a piece of Very Vanilla that I embossed with the new Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The ornaments are from the new Ornament Keepsake Stamp Set* and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green. I used the coordinating Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies* to cut them out. The smaller ornaments were stamped again in Gumball Green and I used the 3/4″ Circle Punch to punch out the middle and mounted them to the ornaments with Stampin’ Dimensionals. All of the ornaments are also mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Tiny Tags Stamp Set and is stamped in Gumball Green and punched out with the Jewelry Tag Punch. I used the 1/16″ Circle Punch for the hole that I threaded the Linen Thread through and tied in a knot at the end. I adhered it to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The best part about the stamps used in this card is that they come in a bundle with the Framelits, if you buy them together you save 15%! You know I like fussy cutting but if there is a Framelit it saves a lot of time. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope that you enjoyed today’s twice monthly Pals Paper Arts Challenge card. Have a happy Saturday!

  • Indigo Limeade Mini Milk Preserved Pair and Sneak Peek

Good day to you all. It’s Thursday and that means that we are one more day closer to the weekend! I have big plans to get a lot accomplished this weekend, we’ll see how that goes. For today’s post I made a little 3 x 3 z-fold card and a Mini Milk Carton to go with it. The card starts off with a base of Naturals White Card Stock cut to 3″ x 9″ and scored at 1 1/2″, 3″, 6″ and 7 1/2″. I embossed a pice of Lucky Limeade with the new Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* and adhered it to the front panels. The stamped images are from the new Perfectly Preserved* Stamp Set and are cut out with the new Cannery Framelits Dies*. The jar is stamped in Island Indigo and a piece of Island Indigo Bakers Twine is tied around the mouth. The pear is stamped in Lucky Limeade and the leaves in Chocolate Chip. The just for you is also stamped in Island Indigo and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. They are all mounted to the belly band of Island Indigo, the pear and greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Mini Milk Carton is cut out with the Mini Milk Carton Bigz Die from another piece of Naturals White Card Stock. I used Sticky Strip to hold it together. A piece of Island Indigo is used for the background behind a repeat of the pear from the card. The thank you is stamped in Island Indigo and I used the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies to cut out a piece of Lucky Limeade to mount behind it. A Stampin’ Dimensional makes sure that you can still open the milk carton without bending the greeting. I’m loving the color combination. The new Perfectly Preserved* Stamp Set and Cannery Framelits Dies* are some of my favorites from the new Holiday Catalog. I hope that you enjoyed today’s project and thank you so much for stopping by. Enjoy your Thursday everyone!

  • Mojo 250

Hello everyone! How is your day looking? Mine is looking pretty good. I made it through Monday unscathed and that’s always a good thing! Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. Julee Tilman has give us this to work with…

I started my card with a base of Certainly Celery that I stamped with the large image from the Creative Elements Stamp Set. On top of that is a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock that I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool around the edge. I added a piece of Primrose Petals Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon across the center and adhered some banners that are cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies in Primrose Petals. The next layer is a piece of Pool Party and on top of that is a piece of Primrose Petals that I also Paper-Pierced around the edges and flagged the bottom. They are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The next layer is a piece of Pool Party that I cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlits Die. I backed with a piece of Whisper White punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. The top is a piece of Certainly Celery that I punched out with the 2 3/8 Scallop Circle Punch and the embossed with the Perfect Polkadots Embossing Folder. I added a butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set stamped in Primrose Petals and punched it out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. Some Basic Jewels Pearls are added for the body and it is also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To the right is another doily cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlits Die in Whisper White and I added a piece of Pool Party punched out with the new 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch* from the Holiday Catalog. Some Primrose Petals flowers punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack are added with some more Basic Jewels Pearls in the middles. For the final touch I added a Vintage Faceted Designer Button with some Whisper White Bakers Twine tied in a bow and adhered it with a Mini Glue Dot. This card has lots of layers and an abundance of detail and I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. Thank you for dropping by and have an amazing day! 🙂

  • Postage Affection Primrose Travel Friend and Sneak Peek

Good morning everyone! How is everyone’s weekend so far? Mine has been great! We went horseback riding this morning and had a great time. We got to help groom the horses and get them all saddled up and then went for a nice ride. You forget how big horses are until you stand next to them!

There I am standing next to Ben, which is the horse my friend rode. We got to walk them around and bond a little before went went out. After our ride went went back to the house and got cleaned up and went over to Chester, VT. We had lunch at this amazing restaurant called Alice’s. If you are ever in the area I highly recommend stopping there for a bite to eat.

Today’s card is another one of my recent favorites. I have really been into Pool Party and Crumb Cake lately, I think it makes a nice subtle combination. The base of the card is Pool Party and I stamped it with the Distressed Dots Background Stamp in Pool Party ink. The layer on top of that is a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock that I cut out with the Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die and embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The top set of images are from the new Affection Collection Stamp Set* from the 2012 Holiday Catalog. The backing image is stamped in Pool Party and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce the oval in the center. The friend is from the same set and is stamped in Primrose Petals and cut out with my Paper Snips. I flagged a piece of Pool Party Card Stock and mounted the images over it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The middle set of images are from the Postage Due Stamp Set and are stamped in Primrose Petals and Crumb Cake and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch. I mounted them to a piece of Primrose Petals that I also paper-pierced and flagged. The bottom image is made using the Travel Journal Builder Wheel and Soft Suede Ink. I flagged the end of that too. The piece of Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon is adhered down the side of the card with Sticky Strip and finally, I flagged the ends of the ribbon too. I love the color combination and these are two of my favorite stamp sets. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thanks for stopping by. Have a great Sunday!

  • CCMC 210 Color Challenge and Vermont

Good morning! How is everyone today? I’m great! My friend and I drove up to Vermont last night, we left Manhattan around 5:45 and we got here at 11:45. The drive was not too bad once we got out of the city. We drove all the way here with the top down in the car. I woke up this morning and here is the view see when I walk outside…

Pretty, isn’t it? I’ll take some more pictures to post tomorrow, it really is just beautiful up here.

Now on to today’s post that is for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a color challenge…

I decided to do a nice simple card using mainly elements that are either cut out with the Big Shot or punched. The base of the card is Old Olive Card Stock. I embossed a piece of So Saffron with the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. Using the Big Shot and the Perfect Pennants Die I cut out a few pieces in Pool Party and Cherry Cobbler. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper Piercing Tool around the edge of the Pool Party piece. The Cherry Cobbler piece is edged with the Dotted Scalloped Ribbon Border Punch, I cut the punched pieces in half and then used some 2-Way Glue to adhere them to the back. The small scalloped circle is punched from a piece of Old Olive using the new 1 1/4″ Scalloped Circle Punch from the Holiday Catalog. I stamped the images from the A Fitting Occasions Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler and So Saffron. The Cherry Cobbler image is punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch and I cut the party hat out with my Paper Snips. They are both mounted to the pennant with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The two smaller pennants are punched out with the Pennants Builder Punch in Cherry Cobbler and Pool Party. I used the Cupcake Builder Punch for the candles and that completes the card. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card and thanks for visiting. I’m off to the country store for some half & half! Have an awesome day!

  • FMS #43 and Sneak Peek

Good morning! How is everyone doing today? I’m doing well, I’m off to Vermont a little later on with my friend Kim. I’m going to go and pick her up from the city and off we go. I’m looking forward to seeing some friends up there and enjoying all of the beautiful scenery. I’ll post some pictures on Friday. 🙂

Today’s post is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Tui has give us this sketch to work with…

I wanted to load this card up with some sneak peeks so I decided the easiest way to do that would be to make a Christmas card. The base of my card is Very Vanilla. I added a piece of Be Of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper to it for the background. The piece of Gumball Green Card Stock is stamped with the new Border Banter Stamp Set* in Gumball Green. Another piece of Be Of Good Cheer DSP is placed on top of that. The main panel is a piece of Chocolate Chip. On top of that I embossed a piece of the new Core’dinations Card Stock* in Cherry Cobbler with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. I used the Stampin’ Sanding System*, consisting of a new sanding block with replaceable sanding sheets and the Core’dinations Dust Buddy*, to sand the card stock and reveal the lighter inside. It gives it a really cool texture and almost a velvet feel to the sanded parts. The mittens are from the Make A Mitten Stamp Set* and are stamped in Gumball Green and the snowflakes are stamped in Chocolate Chip. I punched them out with the Mitten Builder Punch*. The greeting is from the Tags til Christmas Stamp Set and is also stamped in Gumball Green and punched out with the 1″ Square Punch and backed by a piece of Gumball Green Card Stock punched out with the 1 1/4″ Square Punch. I mounted the mittens and the greeting to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon and a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper* punched out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack finish off the card. I hope that you enjoyed all of the sneak peeks and that you liked this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card. Thank you so much for visiting and have a great day! 🙂

  • Primrose Crumb Pool Preserved Thanks Sneak Peek

Good morning peeps! Welcome to one of my favorite days of the week, Wednesday. It’s a great day because it means we are halfway through the week. I’m getting excited because I am going up to Vermont for a few days to visit some friends. It will be nice to get away for a bit but I will be taking some crafting stuff with me so I don’t go through withdrawal! Today’s card is another sneak peek at a new Stamp Set from the 2012 Holiday Catalog. I also CASE’d some of it from a sample in the catalog. The base of the card is Pool Party Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with the Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The stamped images are all from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set*. The jar is stamped in Pool Party, the stems are stamped in Lucky Limeade, the flower on the right is stamped in Primrose Petals and the one on the left is stamped in More Mustard and cut out with the new Cannery Framelits Dies*. I used a 3/16″ Metallic Brad in the middle and mounted it to the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional. I backed the Whisper White Stamped piece with some more Pool Party and adhered the whole thing to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals too. The greeting is stamped in Primrose Petals and punched out with the Small Oval Punch. I really like the simplicity of this card and I am loving the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set* and coordinating Cannery Framelits Dies*. • Mojo 249 and Sneak Peek

Good morning everyone! I hope that you all had a bearable Monday. My day was good, truth be told I am always looking forward to the weekend as I’m sure so many of us are!

Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week’s sketch is provided by Carole Burrage…

I like the skewed middle piece to this sketch. I have to say that I had a harder time skewing the middle than I usually do putting it on straight! The base of my card is Rich Razzleberry Card Stock. For the background I used some International Bazaar Designer Series Paper and the the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the pieces of Pacific Point Card Stock. Across the middle is a piece of Chocolate Chip that I use the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies to cut the one side. The white piece is stamped in Rich Razzleberry with an image from the new Make a Mitten Stamp Set* from the 2012 Holiday Catalog. There are four stamps in the set that you can use for a border. The main images are from the Flock Together Stamp Set and are stamped in Chocolate Chip and Pacific Point. I mounted it to a piece of Daffodil Delight Card Stock and it is mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Made for You Stamp Set and is stamped in Tangerine Tango. I used my Paper Snips to flag the one and and mounted it to a piece of Tangerine Tango Card Stock. For the perfect finishing touch I added 3 Basic Jewels Rhinestones to the bottom right corner. I love the International Bazaar DSP because it has so many different colors in it and gives you a lot more options. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. Thank so much for paying me a visit and have great day!

  • Paper Player #103 and Sneak Peek

Hello everyone and welcome to Monday. I had a very nice weekend and got most of what I wanted to get accomplished done. There is always something that I don’t get to but there’s always tomorrow! I hope that you all had a nice weekend and the heat is finally supposed to break today which is welcome after the scorcher of a weekend that we had here on Long Island.

Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. This week we have a color challenge from Anne Marie…

I thought about doing a nice summer themed card but I really wanted to use some new stuff so I did a Christmas card. I like to think of it as my Christmas in Florida card! The base of the card is Calypso Coral Card Stock. The center panel is embossed with the new Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* in Daffodil Delight. The top and the bottom have a piece of Lucky Limeade that I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies on and then adhered to the back before I mounted it to the card. The images in the middle are from the new Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set* that coordinates nicely with the embossing folder. I stamped the oval image in Lucky Limeade and punched it out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. I stamped the joy in Calypso Coral and cut it out with my Paper Snips along with the bow at the top. They are all mounted to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The four ornament images in the corners are from the new Merry Minis Stamp Set* and are stamped in Lucky Limeade and punched out with the new coordinating Merry Minis Punch Pack*. They too are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a small Basic Jewels Pearl to the center of each of the ornaments and the center of the bow. It’s definitely a different color combination for a holiday card but if I lived someplace warm I would think that it would be fitting! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Paper Players Challenge card and thank you as always for visiting. Have a great Monday! 🙂

  • PPA 138 and Sneak Peek

A good Sunday morning to you all. How did everyone fare in yesterday’s heat? I went out for a little while and felt like my skin was melting but most of the day I spent inside crafting in the A/C. I didn’t get as much done as I wanted to but I had a few creative bursts. My post is a little late this morning because I went for an 11 mile bike ride with the wonderful Stamp with Sandy. It may have been a little ambitious for my first time out this year but I actually feel pretty good! Thanks Sandy!

Today’s post is for the bi monthly Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This time we have a color challenge…

The nice fall colors did help make me feel a little cooler yesterday! I have another sneak peek for you today from the 2012 Holiday Catalog that you will be able to order from starting August 1st. The base of my card is Daffodil Delight Card Stock and I added a piece of Cherry Cobbler on top of the front. The Early Espresso is embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I adhered a piece of Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon to the bottom with some Sticky Strip on the back before I adhered it to the Cherry Cobbler piece with SNAIL. All of the stamped images including the greeting are from the new Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set* in the Holiday Catalog. I stamped the jar in Early Espresso and the lid in Daffodil Delight. The apples are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and the leaves are stamped in Gumball Green. The flowers are also stamped in Daffodil Delight and all of the images are cut out with the Cannery Framelits Dies* also new in the Holiday Catalog. I love when stamps have matching Framelits, it makes cutting them out so easy and the stamp set and the Framelits are available as a bundle for a 10% savings! I tied a piece of Whisper White Bakers Twine around the lid before I attached it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Everything else is also attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals except for the jar which is adhered with SNAIL. The greeting and the piece of Cherry Cobbler behind it are cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. I added two Brights Collection 3/8″ Brads to the centers of the flowers for a little added detail. I love the new Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set* and Cannery Framelits Dies*! I can’t wait to see what else I can put in a jar! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge and the sneak peek from the 2012 Holiday Catalog. Thank you very much for taking some time out of your day to visit and stay cool and enjoy!
