Paper Craft Crew 248

It was another hot one here yesterday but I’m not complaining! It’s supposed to be cooler today, but hopefully it won’t stay that way! I puttered around in the morning and in the afternoon I went over to Stephanie’s to dangle my legs in the pool for a while! After that I came back home and Jim stopped by around 5:00. We went next door to see my Parent’s for a bit and then ran to Lowes to look at pond stuff. A little TV before bed and that was my day! 😀

Let’s see… Wednesday and we have a new Paper Craft Crew challenge for you…

As soon as I saw this I knew exactly what I wanted to do! To create my background I stamped the images from the Concord & 9th Many Mandalas Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Aquatic and Green Apple Hybrid Ink using my MISTI onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. That is then adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the greeting I stamped the wishing you onto the card base in Black and then the rest is heat embossed in Hero Arts White onto a piece of Black 110lb. I cut the end on an angle and adhered it to the card with 3M Foam Tape. I hoarded some of the Pretty Pink Posh Share Handmade Kindness Sequins Mix and the colors worked perfectly with the ink so I added a few to complete the card! I love the green and blue together and the mandalas make a nice background! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Inspiration Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! I thank you for stopping by today! Have yourself a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 291

Ahh the weekend! What a lovely day we had here yesterday! It was in the 80’s and Sunny! I went for a ride with Stephanie in the convertible in the afternoon and hung out with her and Sophie for a while. We played Kid’s Monopoly, that’s a fun little game! I ran a few errands and then Andrew stopped by and so did Jim. We had a nice evening and today Jim and I are headed to New Hope, PA for the day! Just to do something different and get out of New York! Should be a really fun day! I’ll try to remember to take some pictures! 😀

My post for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I dug out and oldie but goodie! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To create my background I used the Hero Arts Waves Stencil and my Stencil Brush to apply Some Tide Pool Ink to a piece of Solar White 80lb. I trimmed it to match the sketch and adhered it to the card. My goldfish, from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set, is stamped in Light Ruby to Royal Red Ombre Ink for the second layer and the first layer is then stamped in Versa-Mark and heat embossed in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. After I cut him out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts I adhered him to the card with 3M Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Hello Gorgeous Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Black right under my fish. All that was left to do was to add a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins! I still love that goldfish and the stencil brush makes inking the background easy! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thank you for stopping by! Have a sensational Saturday! 🙂

Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Layers!

Hello again! I’m back for my second post for today! We have a new challenge over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog for the month of June! This time we ask you to create a a card with some layers!

I started my card by stamping the flower from the Pretty Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Lobster Ink. I then placed a piece of 29lb Vellum over the top and stamped the second layer of the flower in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Hero Arts White Satin Pearl. The Coordinating Dies cut out both layers, including a little Black 110lb for the flower center, and I adhered them to each other with E-Z Runner, hiding it behind the embossing. To make the background I cut a piece of Black 110lb with the Select-A-Size Edge Dies and adhered that to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My greeting is from the Happy Words Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Black Licorice right onto the card base. All that was left to do was to adhere the flower to the card with 3M Foam Tape! I love how the vellum softens the bold red of the flower and the funky edge offset is pretty neat too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Layers Challenge! We hope that you will take some time to share your card with us in the gallery. Be sure to stop by the BLOG for some inspiration from the rest of the Team! Thanks so much for coming by again! Enjoy the rest of your Friday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 247

Ahh… the middle of the week. Once again zipping by! Another cloudy, misty, rainy day here. Lots of crafting in the morning, a little TV and some planning. I got to see Daniel and Tristan for a bit. My Brother and Erika went to see a concert at Jones Beach, Erika was quite excited about the night out! Taylor came by and we hung out for a while, I love my child, she’s such a good person! Hopefully it will not be raining today and I can get outside for a bit. I think I’m suffering from Sun deprivation! 😀

So what do we have for a Wednesday post? Why this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch of course…

Nice and simple! I started my card by heat embossing the images from the Concord & 9th Many Mandalas Photopolymer Stamp Set onto 48lb Vellum and Blueprint Curious Metallic. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and layered them on top of one another. To adhere them to my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I used some 3M Foam Tape. The happy birthday is from the same set and is stamped in Hero Arts Navy Ink onto the card base. A few sequins from the Little Things by Lucy Nautical and Brushed Gold Mixes and the card is done! I love that Mandalas set, especially heat embossed on the different papers! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! There is more inspiration over on the BLOG so go and check it out! Thanks so much for your visit! I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Farewell Mojo Monday

A very happy Monday to you all! I had such a great weekend! Yesterday morning I went to Target and picked up eight chairs for Jim, you would be surprised what you can fit in a convertible with the top down, it’s like a little pickup truck! LOL! We unloaded them and set them up on the patio and then got a bunch of other projects finished. He made a late breakfast of omelets, they were delicious. We took a ride to HomeGoods and he got a really nice rug for his den. For dinner he made Chicken Marsala that was amazing. A little TV and then I came home to see Taylor for a bit. He gave me some of the leftover Chicken Marsala which Taylor absconded with! I’ll be getting some crafty things done this morning, I believe that it’s supposed to rain today, good day for that! 😀

It is with great sadness that I share with you my last card for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. I can remember how excited I was when I found out that I was on the Design Team! It has been so much fun playing along each week with the rest of the Team. They are some of the nicest crafty peeps you could ever hope to know! And Julee is such a kind, sweet and talented person, I’m really going to miss her amazing sketches! But this is sketch 500 so I would say we have had a pretty good run!

I started my card off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is two pieces of paper from the Jen Hadfield DIY Home 6×6 Paper Pad. I added two strips of Heidi Swapp Glitter Washi Tape across the lower half of the card. The two vertical pieces of paper are Blushing Bride and Pool Party. My greeting is actually a Reverse Confetti Promo Stamp that Jennifer DelMuro sent to me for a card class that I had a while back. I heat embossed it in Simon Says Stamp Rose Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Smoky Slate and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A fitting card to the end of an amazing challenge! I really hope that you enjoyed my final card for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Please head over to the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and share yours with us one last time! Thank you so much for sharing in my weekend and starting another week off with me! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 290

I had a wonderful Friday! It was Sunny and really nice all day! I went over to Heather’s in the morning and she made me breakfast! I worked on some things while she did her work. Around 1:30 I headed home and had a little lunch and then I did a little cleaning. Jim came by around 5:00 and we went out to dinner and then watched a movie. I’ll be seeing him later on today for the walk! This morning I’m off to Wading River to perform a wedding! Bet you didn’t know that I was Justin-of-the-Peace?! 😀

I have a fun simple card to share with you today for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches

My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Smoke Gray. Across the top is a piece of Soft Navy, I heat embossed the images and greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Seeing Stars Photopolymer Stamp Set in WOW! Rich Pale Gold Embossing Powder. Under that is a piece of Slate Gray that I cut with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Ovals Dies. The die that I used to cut the flag I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s called, it’s from Simon Says Stamp and I heat embossed one more star on it. Finally, just a few Rhinestones scattered among the stars completes the card. I really am quite fond of that stamp set, love the clusters of stars! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thank you for coming by today! Enjoy your Saturday! 🙂

City on My Mind

Well what started out as a sunny morning yielded to clouds for the rest of the day. I did begin my day with some bagels with Heather and Stephanie which was nice. After that I came home and worked on some crafty projects and cleaned a little. The evening was spent on the couch with the TV and Taylor stopped by for a bit before I called it a night. More crafty things to work on today! Fun! 😀

We are continuing on with Simple Sunday! This card is super simple to make and would work with pretty much any cityscape dies that you have! I used the Poppy Stamps Downtown Urban Landscape Dies to cut the top part of a piece of Basic Gray. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Embossing Powder onto the bottom right of the buildings. I used a combo of E-Z Runner and Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhered the buildings to the card along with three separate gold buildings that I cut from Gold Mirror Card using the companion Poppy Stamps Downtown Skyscrapers Dies. Some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card! Like I said, super simple but I think it’s pretty neat! I hope that you enjoyed today’s Simple Sunday card! Thank you so much for visiting! Have a simple and fun Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 289

Happy Saturday! What was supposed to be a rainy day turned out to be a very lovely day! It was partly cloudy but a lot sunny! I got a few things done around the house in the morning and then went out with Michael for the afternoon. We went all over, Pizza for lunch, A.C. Moore, Old Navy, Kohl’s and finally Target. I took him back to Sue’s and then came home and had dinner with my Parents. Taylor stopped by briefly and then I had some TV time. I’m going to get some more things done around the house and this morning and then who knows what the rest of the day will bring?! 😀

My little bit of craftiness that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge

The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of paper from the DCWV Mariposa 12×12 Paper Pad and heat embossed my greeting from the Concord & 9th By Your Side Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. The paper is then adhered to a piece of Island Indigo and then adhered to the card. I die cut the butterfly from a piece of Gold Glitter Card Stock using the Concord & 9th Floral & Flutter Dies. It’s adhered to the card with 3M Foam Tape. It needed a little something else so I took my Signo Gold Gel Pen and added some dots to the patterned paper. I love the nice subtle pattern on the paper and that butterfly is still one of my all time favorites! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thanks so much for coming by today! Have a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

Dotty Thank You Two Ways – Concord & 9th May Guest Designer

Hello again! I’m back with my Guest Designer post for Concord & 9th with more inspiration for the May release! This week we are showcasing the Dotty Turnabout Stamp and the All About You Dies! Each week Jeanette, Vera and myself will be using the same products so you can see how versatile they are! 😀

I love when I can make a card and then use the “leftover” pieces to make a second one don’t you?! To start my cards I used my MISTI and the Dotty Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp with some Minty Fresh, Storm Cloud and Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder. For the first card I cut a piece of the stamped paper to 4 x 5 1/4 and used the All About You Dies to cut out the negative you from the paper. I also cut the you out from a piece of Black 110lb along with the the thank. To create the card I adhered a piece of Black 110lb to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is adhered to the card and the you and black outline are adhered back into the negative cut out. All that was left to do was to adhered the thank to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive! Love the bold background and the way the block outline on the you separates it just enough to make it pop!

Since I had the opposite pieces left over from the first card I decided that I would make a second! I adhered the you and the outline to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive along with the thank. Next I used the additional stamps in the Dotty Turnabout Photopolymer Stamps to stamp the lined circles in Minty Fresh and Storm Cloud randomly around the greetings. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Pewter Sequins Finish the card! Waste not want not and I think I actually like this card even more than the first one!

I LOVE that Dotty Turnabout Stamp and the All About You Dies! So much fun to use! Again, how cool is it that you can make your own background paper in any color that you want?! I hope that you enjoyed my Guest Designer projects for the Concord & 9th Blog! Click here to go to the Concord & 9th post and see what the other Guest Designers have done! Fab Friday 113

A happy Friday to you from mushy, wet New York! It rained all day yesterday. I stayed indoors, cleaned a little, did some laundry and watched a lot of TV! Taylor came by in the evening and we ran to Target quick. It’s supposed to continue raining today so I will have to find some more indoor activities to keep myself busy! 😀

It’s one of those week’s where we have a new Fab Friday challenge for you…

I had some fun with the Dotty Turnabout Stamp again! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used my MISTI and the Concord & 9th Dotty Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp. I stamped it three times, once in Grape Soda, once in Narwhal and then for the final one I heat embossed it in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. Across the middle is a strip of 48lb Vellum and a some Gold Mirror Card with the ends flagged. My globe and greeting are from the Concord & 9th Globe Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the globe in Grape Soda and the greeting in Narwhal. To cut it out I used the Coordinating Die to cut out the globe and then I cut out another piece of Gold Mirror Card with the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies. The globe is adhered to the Gold circle and then to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I just can’t get enough of that Dotty Turnabout Stamp, in fact I’ll be back in a little while with my Guest Designer Post for Concord & 9th with some more ways to use it! I hope that you like my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! Check out the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s projects and let’s see your’s in the gallery! Thank you for coming by this morning! See back here in a few! 🙂
