Last night was my favorite night of the month, Techniques Class! Sandy had a great trio of projects for us again last night. The theme of the class was tissue paper. We did a faux silk card which looks amazing, a stamped candle which looks so complicated but it’s really easy and a stamped tissue paper bag decorated to match the projects. We used a great Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Just Believe. It has 9 stamps, all of them beautiful. Card Stock colors are Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Certainly Celery and Whisper White. The ink was Cajun Craze and Old Olive. I love to learn new techniques and Sandy is a great teacher. We have an awesome time at the class and I can’t wait for next month! You can visit Sandy’s blog at www.stampwithsandy.com. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Hello Baby Boy Booties
I went to a Stampin’ Up! team meeting with my good friend Sandy last Saturday. It was in Washingtonville NY. We had a great time and I got all kinds of new ideas. The fact that it snowed and it took 3.5 hours to get home only made it more of an adventure. I also won the Stitched Stocking Clear Mount Set. I didn’t really think about using it for anything else besides Christmas and then I saw a card where it was used for baby booties. What a great idea! Here is my take on the card below. I used Marina Mist ink and card stock and the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I love the way the card came out and hope you like it too. Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Card Stock: Marina Mist and Very Vanilla
Ink: Marina Mist

Nature Walk Sahara Birthday
You can never have enough Birthday cards. I make them all the time and always need to make more. I recently acquired some new stamp sets. The Nature Walk set is so versatile because it comes with a bird, eggs, cage, bee, butterfly and plant. I love the vintage feel that the set has. I decided that I wanted to use Sahara Sand Card Stock with Very Vanilla. I forgot to get the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Pad but not to worry because I have the Neutrals Stampin’ Marker set. I use the marker to stamp technique and it worked great. I also used the Square Lattice Texture Impressions Embossing Folder. I think it keeps in line with the natural theme of the card. For a little bling I added 3 little pearls. I like the card so much that I’m going to make it in a bunch of different colors!I’ll post those as soon as I can. Thanks for taking a look and have a great day!

The vanilla polka dots embossed and then placed on the vanilla card has a nice clean look. I have never used the get well soon sentiment before, probably hoping that I never have to! Overseas Cards
A good friend of mine, Chantal, recently went on a trip to Paris to see her family. She asked me if I would make a bunch of cards for her to take with her to give to them. I of course was thrilled. I love it when people like my cards, especially enough to take them international! So here are the cards that I made for her. Thanks to Chantal for being such a great friend and supporter! Thanks to you guys for taking a look and have a nice day!

For this weeks Pals Paper Arts the challenge is a sketch. It’s three squares with a band. I decided to do a traditional Christmas card, colors that is. The card itself is 4.25 x 4.25 square. I used some Garden Green Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla Smooth Card Stock. I ran the Very Vanilla through the Big Shot with the new Snow Burst Embossing Folder. The Stitched Stockings Clear Mount Set and the Stocking Builder Punch are a great addition to anyones Holiday craft arsenal. I love the Merry Christmas from the Christmas Greeting Wood Mount Set. I think I will be making some more of these! Thanks for looking and have a great day!

This weeks Pals Paper Arts Challenge used an lovely picture of a front door all dressed up of fall. I love the fall with all of it’s bright and earthy colors. As soon as I saw the picture I knew exactly what I would do. Some nice leaves! The parchment background on the card was scored vertically with Stampin’ Up!’s new Simply Scored scoring board. I have to say that I love to use it and it really is the best one I have used. I have a Martha Stewart Score Board and I never touch it anymore. You can’t really see it in the picture very well but it gives the paper a nice subtle pinstriped look. I also used the EK Tools Triple Layer Maple Leaf punch. I only used two of the layers to keep it a little more simple. The sentiment is from the retired Afterthoughts Clear Mount Set. Thanks for taking a look!

Mojo 209
For this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch challenge I wanted to do a non-traditional Christmas Card. I love the browns & blues together, for some reason they remind me of the holiday season. I used some Early Espresso Card Stock for the card. The Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder has such a nice depth to it and looks great on Very Vanilla Card Stock. I love shade of the Marina Mist Card Stock and I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch on the one edge. The snow man is from the Merry Winter Clear Mount set and the Merry Christmas is from the incredibly versatile Teeny Tiny Wishes Wood Mount set. The card has a nice frosty feel to it, I’m very happy with the way it came out. Thanks for taking a look!

Techniques Workshop Take 2
Last night was my favorite night of the month! We went to our Techniques Workshop hosted by the super talented Sandy (stampwithsandy.com). For this class we covered three different techniques using heat embossing. The first one was just basic heat embossing using VersaMark and the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! Pewter Embossing Powder. The stamp set is from the Holiday Mini and is called Bright Hopes. It’s perfect for heat embossing because it has that regal look about it. The second project was Stained Glass. For this one we stamped onto Vellum with VersaMark and heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder. We then use the Stampin’ Up! Write Markers to color in the image. The stamp set is Delicate Doilies and is perfect for this technique. For our third project we did Emboss Resist. For this we used the Gently Falling stamp set from the Holiday Mini. First the Very Vanilla Card Stock was sponged with multiple colors and then stamped with VersaMark. We heat embossed using Clear Embossing Powder. To complete the effect we sponged on some Early Espresso and then went over the clear embossing with a paper towel. The effect is quite stunning. Pictures of all of the cards are posted below. I can’t wait for next month’s class!! Thanks, as always to Sandy and thanks for looking.

Ahh.. how I love a good Pals Paper Arts Challenge! Especially when there are no specific colors to follow! This weeks challenge is to use heat embossing, something I haven’t done for years. I love all of the new Stampin’ Up! stuff that I have and my favorite items are the Builder Punches. I decided to go with the Cupcake Builder Punch. I embossed the red sprinkles and cherry as well as the sentiments. I like the card but I guess I need to get some Stampin’ Up! embossing powder because the stuff I have isn’t that great. I also need to get an Embossing Buddy! Here are the list of “ingredients” for the card and the picture is below. Thanks for stopping by!
Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Designer Series Paper: Brights Stack
Punches: Cupcake Builder Punch and Scallop Trim Border
